It was the middle of the night and Merlin could not sleep, he was so consumed with sadness and regret for how he had reacted the previous day. He knew that Arthur was being faithful towards him but he could not help but fear that one day Uther might marry Arthur off to some princess. He soon realised that he had to reconcile with the prince, he did love Arthur and it hurt to be away from him when they were so close.

The warlock peeled himself out of bed and he soon found himself sneaking through the castle, arriving at Arthur's chambers and knocking on the door before he slowly opened it and stepped inside.

"Merlin? What are you doing here?" Arthur asked as he sat up in bed.

"I wanted to say that I am sorry about snapping at you earlier, I just got jealous because those women are beautiful and I am just lanky, clumsy, weird me". The warlock rambled as his insecurities emerged and tears filled his eyes.

Arthur hesitated but he climbed out of bed "No one is as beautiful as you are to me. Yes, women were attractive but..." he stopped when Merlin sniffled and looked down, the prince walked over to his warlock; he held his hands gently and Merlin looked up at him "But I am not in love with anyone but you, my beautiful, funny, magical, kind and sexy Merlin" he spoke softly as he slowly rubbed circles over the back of Merlin's hands with his thumbs.

Merlin let out the breath that he had been holding in and he hugged Arthur "I am so sorry" he whispered.

Arthur let his tears fall and he nuzzled into Merlin's neck "So am I" he gently pressed a kiss to Merlin's skin "I do not want to lose you, I'm so sorry that you have been dragged into this situation".

Merlin pulled back and he kissed Arthur "I love you, I do not care about your title because you are my Arthur".

"I will always be your Arthur" The prince smiled slightly before he missed Merlin again.

The couple made their way over to the window, sitting down and gazing out at the world whilst they held each other. Just enjoying each other's company and how they could sit and not worry about being caught. About an hour had passed, before Arthur noticed that Merlin was practically falling asleep against his chest as he leaned back into him.

"You should probably go back, before anyone notices that you are not in your room in the morning" the prince suggested and Merlin looked up at him.

"Yeah you are probably right" Merlin sighed before he went to stand up but Arthur cupped his chin and tilted his head back gently.

"I'll see you in the morning" Arthur smirked.

Merlin grinned before Arthur kissed him "See you in the morning" he then stood up and he walked towards the door, but not before stealing a quick glance at Arthur and he winked at the prince.

Arthur watched as Merlin left the room and he sighed in contentment, knowing that he was not going to lose warlock and each day was a day closer until they could finally be together without the kingdom or anyone else judging them or preventing them from being together.

Both Merlin and Arthur slept well the rest of the night, all worries left them and morning arrived very quickly; which just brought them more joy due to the fact that they would be able to see each other again.

Merlin strode out of his room in the morning, lapped up his breakfast before going about completing his first chore which was to wake Arthur up. His excited boiled up inside of him as he made his way through the castle, to see the love of his life. Obviously, he went to the kitchen to get Arthur's breakfast first. Merlin slowly opened the door to Arthur's chambers and he chuckled when he saw that Arthur was lying on his front and dribbling onto his pillow.

The warlock carefully put the tray of food and water down on the table before he turned around and ran at the bed, leaping onto it and causing Arthur to jolt awake "Good morning!"

Arthur smiled and he laughed as he looked over his shoulder at Merlin "Morning, Merlin".

"How did you sleep?" Merlin asked as he rolled off of Arthur.

"I slept well but..."Arthur moved so that he was leaning over Merlin "Waking up was better because now I get to kiss you" he stated before he leaned down and the couple shared a passionate kiss.

Merlin snaked his arms around Arthur's neck and he moaned into their kiss, before he flipped himself and Arthur over so that the prince was lying down "You need to eat your breakfast whilst I go out and get some herbs for Guias he purred before he stood up and walked towards the door.

"That was sneaky" Arthur raised an eyebrow as he sat up.

"I am very good at being sneaky" Merlin chirped before he left the room.

"How is it that he is so sexy?" Arthur thought out loud before he climbed out of bed.
