Woundwort listened closely as Vervain related his findings to him and Snowdrop.

"I'm sure of it sire." Insisted Vervain. "The Gull Thlayli was talking to, had to have bean bean the same one Chervil was talking about! And we saw him, just before the Fox attacked our Sergeants in the Woods! I told Campion it was the same one but he-"

Woundwort cut him off as he growled to himself. "The gull is confirmed… The Fox kills our Troops… And Thalyli arrives to join my Owsla."

"You should have brought his induction to the Attention of the Council." Snowdrop grumbled. "This unmarked Hlessi hasn't even been marked, And from what we've heard, Not even an Esteemed Officer like Captain Campion seems to have proper-"

Woundwort cut off the Head Counselor with a quick glare, before turning to Vervain.

"Vervain, Find Thlayli, Bring him before the Council." Ordered Woundwort.

"As you command, General." Vervain said, bowing.

Meanwhile,

The heat of the sun cascaded down onto the Does as they languished in the Deep Burrows, Some managed to take shelter in the Shadows to stay cool, it wasn't enough to escape the Summer heat.

Nelthilta made her way to Hyzenthlay. "How do you think Campion got to us so quickly?"

"I don't know…" Hyzenthlay said weekly. "You don't think one of us informed the guards do you?"

Nettle looked among the other Does. "I'm not sure, I doubt any of them would betray us, Unless… They were forced."

"But who?" Asked Vilthuril. "And where's Bigwig?

"We need to get out of here and find him!" Said Thethunninnang. "We just need to rush Ragwort and then maybe some of us could get away!"

"But even if we get past Ragwort, There'd be Guards on the other entrances too." Said Nettle.

"We've got to do something!" Said Vilthuril.

"Stop!" Exclaimed Hyzenthlay, All the does listened to her. "Listen to me, All of you, My stay of Execution is up, Before they kill me, I'll try and find Bigwig, He'll get you to the Iron Road by Sundown, And please… Don't give up yet, There's still hope."

"Hey! You!"

The Does looked up to see Sainfoin and two other Rabbits with Ragwort, The Deep Burrows head jailer.

"Hyzenthlay…" Sainfoin Instructed. "Captain Orhis wants to see you."

Hyzenthlay didn't say another word as she climbed out of the pit and was escorted away.

"Now it has come to my attention that some of you ladies have begun singing." Sainfoin stated in his usual Pompous manor. "Anyone caught doing this again will face severe Punishment." And with that, He hopped away.

What will become of us without Hyzenthlay?" Asked Thethuthinnang. "Without her to lead us, We're done for."

Meanwhile,

The small Doe cried out as Bartsia clawed at her again, Orchis watched this go on for a while before he called it off. "Let her alone, Bartsia!" He ordered. "She can't talk if you tear her throat out!"

Bartsia stopped his assault, As Orchis looked down at his Spy and smiled devilishly. "And what did they say was to happen next my Dear Thunessa?"

"They said… A big bird would attack the s-senturies!" Whimpered The poor Doe."And when it did we would… escape in the Confusion.

"And what kind of Bird was it?" Asked Orchis sweetly.

"I… I don't know…"

Just then, A rabbit came into the Interrogation Chamber.

"Captain Orchis sir." Said the Guard. "The Prisoner Hyzenthlay is here, As you requested.

Orchis immediately took notice of this and Hastily ordered Bartsia to drag the poor Doe out the other End before Hyzenthlay came in, Once this was done, Hyzenthlay entered the Burrow as Orchis pretended to have been expecting her.

"Ah, There you are Hyzenthlay." Orchis said. "Have you thought about my Proposal yet?"

Hyzenthlay took note of the blood stains on the ground, left behind by Bartsia and his victim, then looked at Orchis, who was waiting for her answer.

"I… might consider it." Hyzenthlay said. "But there'd have to be better conditions for the Doe's and other Bucks."

"And you'll tell me everything, you'll be my ears?" Orchis asked, a sicking smile spreading across his face.

Hyzenthlay said nothing for a moment, but then her face hardened as the next words came out of her mouth. "I would sooner die than give in to your sick twisted little games, you wretched hufsa filth!"

Orchis jumped in shock and turned to face Hyzenthlay, his surprise turned into a venomous scowl as he gathered his wits about him. "You just made a Very regrettable decision…"

"Oh don't try to act offended Orchis." Snarled Hyzenthlay. "I know you already have spies everywhere, So why did you-?"

"Why? WHY?" Asked Orchis, His voice spilling out in uncontrollable rage. "Because the General said I should break you Hyzenthlay! He wanted me to see If I could break you! Into a thousand tiny pieces, and then cast you to the winds before you die! And you… You just had to spoil the fun!" He quickly took a Moment to recompose himself. "But… No matter, At least you'll be dead soon anyway… Like your own sister…"

Hyzenthlay's face faltered for a moment.

"Guard, Remove this Doe!" Orchis called out. "She's to be executed by Frith-Down!"

The Guard at the entrance suddenly came up to Hyzenthlay and escorted her out of the Chamber, Leaving Orchis to snigger with what little triumph he felt.

Meanwhile,

Above ground, Bigwig was brooding over the setback, he now needed to find a way to get the Does out of the deep Burrows before Frith down, and he had to think fast, just as he was about to head down below, he heard two guards talking nearby.

"So they're finally doing it eh?"

"Oh ey, gonna drag her all the way out to that iron tree over yonder, just like old Primrose."

"Oh I remember that, guess it seems Hyzenthlays set to share fate, eh?"

"Like sister like sister, together again under the Black Rabbit of inle!"

Bigwig gasped the two guards cackled together, if what they said was true, then time was running out, He had to get to Hyzenthlay and fast, as he was about to race off, A nasty cackle was heard from behind, Bigwig turned to see Vervain standing there, flanked by Igg and Ook, his main bodyguards.

"Hello Thlayli." Sneered Vervain. "General Woundwort and the Council would like a word with you."

Bigwig scowled as Vervain cackled smugly. "You're under arrest."

Later.

Vervain brought Bigwig before the Council Chamber, where General Woundwort was waiting along with Snowdrop and the Council, Campion, Sainfoin, Bartsia, Chervil, and a few other officers.

"Uh, General Woundwort, Sir." Said Bigwig. "Vervain said you wanted to see me."

"Yes, Campion informed me this morning." Said Woudnwort. "Something about you being… "tricked" into aiding an escape attempt?"

"Ah, You heard didn't you?" Bigwig asked. "I didn't mean to sir, Just sounded like they were in trouble, I was sworn by my Honor as Owsla to… to try and help them out."

"Were you now." Said Vervain cutting in. "And did you know they were building a Tunnel to escape at the time?"

"No, I barely realized what they were doing." Bigwig answered with a straight face. "To tell you the truth, I think I was just looking to impress Captain Campion."

"If you want to impress someone, You ought to be impressing the General." Said Vervain lecturingly.

"Of course, Sir." Said Bigwig. "So… if that's all."

"Not quite Thayli." Said Vervain. "Did you ever experience any trouble on the way"

"Nothing I couldn't handle." Shrugged Thlayli.

"Oh?" Pressed Vervain. "Not evan with the Homba?"

Thlayli looked surprised. "Homba?"

"Yes, the Fox you led onto some Rabbits?"

"Well I, Didn't mean to." Said Bigwig Sheepishly. "It was an accident, I didn't even know they were there."

"And you didn't even report it?" Vervain asked. "Anything out of the Ordinary is to be reported."

"I didn't know there was anything out of the Ordinary about running from a Fox." Said Bigwig.

"Those were Efrafan Sergeants." Said Vervain. "They were part of mine and Campions wide Patrol."

"Well, I'm terribly sorry." Said Thlayli. "I tried to warn them, But they didn't listen, Honest."

Vervain scowled. "Yes, Unfortunate coincidence I suppose, So does that mean, you also admit to standing near a Gull? The same Gull that has formed an unnatural alliance with some Alien Warren we were looking for?"

Bigwig was even more stunned for a moment. "A Gull? Well I've never-" He said himself suddenly, before casting Vervain a nasty glare. "Ah, I see, I know what this is about, This is your game isn't it Vervain! You're out looking for revenge!"

Vervain backed up in shock and then turned to the General pointing an accusing claw at Bigwig. "Sir! SIR! The Prisoner is out of Order!"

Woundwort said nothing, He just gave a Vervain a disinterested look.

"No, No, I see how it is!" Said Bigwig, growing more rageful. "You can't beat me in Combat so you tear me down with Lies and Skewered Truths!"

Two guards made to restrain Bigwig, But he shoved past them and launched himself at Vervain, whose face controted into one of terror as Bigwig knocked him the ground! "I'VE HAD A BELLY FULL OF YOU YOU HARKA!"

He raised a paw to strike Vervain, But it was quickly caught by Campion!

"Don't make this worse Thlayli!" He warned as Sainfoin and Bartsia quickly came over and dragged Bigwig off, Vervain, who was still quivering with terror from the attack, At that moment, Woundwort lept from his pedestal and landed right in front of Vervain, He made his way over to Bigwig, who was still restrained by Sainfoin and Bartsia, Woundwort than stood tall and raised his right claw, everyone watched with baited breaths, Vervain looked on eagerly, while Bigwig galred defiantly up at the Tyrant.

Then, Woundwort slashed his claw at Bigwig, A loud pained yell escaped the Maned Rabbits lips as all looked on in shock at the results!

"Your probationary period is over Thlayli." Said Woundwort. "Of the Shoulder Mark!"

Bigwig then looked at his right shoulder and to his surprise, found a scratch left by Woundworts claw.

"There is no fear within you." Stated Woundwort grandly. "If your loyalty is as good as your courage, You'll do well in Efrafa, But betray me." He finished, with an ominous growl. "And I'll grind your bones to dust.:

Bigwig would only nod in response, As Woundwort made to leave the chamber, and then stopped by a still awestruck Vervain.

"As for you." Woundwort said. "Guard duty around the Deep Burrows until further notice."

And Woundwort left, Leaving an even more Baffled Vervain to process what just happened, While the rest of the Council and most of the guards followed suit, Some Officers, Particularly Campion, Sainfoin and Groundsel stayed behind to congratulate Thlayli.

"Well, Just like that, You're one of us." Said Campion. "Well done."

"Thank's Campion." Said Bigwig. "I… honestly wasn't expecting a promotion."

He looked quietly at Vervain, who gave him a cold glare as he siddled out of the chamber.

"Ah don't mind ol' Vervain." Said Grounsel. "He's just bitter about his own witch hunt backfiring."

"Witch hunt was it?"

Everyone looked to see Orchis, sidling into the Chamber, Bigwig took a guess who he was immediately.

"Captain Orchis, I presume." He asked.

"Ah yes, so we meet at last Thlayli." Said Orchis with his usual wicked smile. "Bartsia has told me plenty about you, My friend, Congratulations on the Promotion already."

"Err, Thank you." Said Bigwig.

"Oh yes." Orchis continued loftily. "It's always nice to see Vervin taken down a peg or two, Stuck up old fuss as he is…"

The others could only agree, Bigwig shrugged in response.

"Although." Orchis said, stroking his chin. "One has to wonder… Are his accusations Completely unfounded, or was he onto something… I wonder." He then stared at Bigwig intently, Who was beginning to feel a bit uneasy with this Rabbit.

"Uh, Can't imagine he was." Bigwig said, feeling even more on edge as Orchis began to circle him menacingly.

"Yes, All this Nonsense about Does, Foxes and Gulls, Quite unimaginative, Unless they were… connected." Orchis took a closer look at Thlayli. "Does that sound right?"

At that moment, Campion began to cut in. "Orchis, If your trying to make a point, I hope you-"

"You're one of the Outsiders, aren't you?" Orchis asked quietly, Ignoring Campion.

"What… Outsiders, Sir?" Bigwig asked.

"The ones that escaped from the Right Flank Mark!" Explained Orchis. "And caused the death of my Brother."

"I don't know anything about that sir." Said Bigwig. "I've only heard of what happened!"

Orchis just glared. "You've a Yona's mile before you can be trusted Thlayli, But I know just where you can start."

Bigwig didn't like the sound of that.
