Chapter One

There was a woman who loved plants, whose life would be tied to plantlife. That woman was named Pamela Lillian Isley.

From a very young age, she was raised by her father and mother around plants and plantlife as a whole, learning to admire them, to appreciate them, to understand their importance. As a child and even when she was growing up, Pamela was a shy girl, and she'd even admit it so, not spending as much time with other children, or other people in general, or even her own parents for that matter, mostly preferring to be with plants more often, feeling more at home with them, more friendly with them. She almost felt as one with such, as though fate would bring her destiny together.

However, under some rather mysterious circumstances, her mother eventually passed away, and soon some time afterwards, so would her father. The causes of which still remained unknown to this day for most people, thought a few may've their theories, suspicions, and speculations. Nevertheless, even though she did feel some sense of loss without her parents now, Pamela felt she still a family of sorts with her, taking care of her while she in turn took of them. Her parents' plants and flowers, now inherited down to her along with any and all else in her name.

Pamela soon became a student under the teachings of Jason Woodrue and Marc LeGrand, along with fellow students such as Alec Holland, Bella Garten, and Alice Oh. Learning of man's disregard or even abuse of nature, Pamela also engaged in eco-activism along with fellow close friend Barbara Gordon, the daughter of Gotham's police commissioner James Gordon. The more she spent time with them, the more Pamela started to develop feelings towards both Barbara, Bella, and Alice as well as the occasional boy here and there, realising her now attraction to both genders.

As part of her activism and under anonymity, Dr Pamela Isley secretly hired a mercenary with gauntlets that could generate shockwaves known only as Tremblor to infiltrate companies that she believed were either disrespecting nature, exploiting nature, or even causing careless hazard to the environment, and intimidate the people running such businesses. With no intent of actually paying him however, this would be her first undoing.

In one of the research labs and facilities of these corporations, Pamela found herself in the crossfire fight between Tremblor and the caped crusading dark knight Batman. In the midst of this, she ended up exposed to a compound of plant mutagen and toxic sludge called Chlorogene. As a result, a metamorphosis had begun, cocooning her and transforming her barren body. Upon hatching and reawakening, Pamela had gained the power and ability to control plantlife and even the minds of people. With this, she swore full commitment to her twisted cause to save all plants.

The world would know her as Poison Ivy.
