CHAPTER 1:

In L.A., Cat joined the original gang at the mall's food court. "Hey, guys," she said as she took a seat.

"What's up?" Robbie asked.

"Well, I've got some really good news," Cat announced. "So, get this – one of my babysitting clients recommended me to a fashion company in the Big Apple! They saw the designs that I had for her daughter's theater rehearsals. I showed her more designs, and she loved them!"

"What are you going to do there?" Jade asked.

"Going to apply to be a fashion designer, of course," Cat explained.

"Congrats, Cat. Those jobs are hard to come by," Jade chimed in.

"Well, I'm going online to put in my application tonight and then wait to see if I'll get a phone call back," Cat told the gang, explaining her plans.

"Do you have your portfolio ready?" Robbie asked.

"I just have a few more items to add and a few more new designs to make, but everything should be ready in time," Cat said with a bright smile.

"Well, good luck," Jade said.

"Thanks, Jade," Cat said with a laugh. "Eeee, I'm so excited!"

Cat updated her status on TheSlap which read: "Freaking out! Am I becoming a fashionista? :o - MOOD = Ecstatic".

Meanwhile, in New York, Tori and Andre talked over their Christmas plans in the evening.

"Shame I won't be able to go home for Christmas this year," Andre said.

"I know, but I have to go even though you can't. I promised Leah I'd be home for Christmas and for her birthday," Tori explained.

"Well, make sure you say hi to the others for me," Andre said.

"Will do," Tori said. "Do you want me to bring your gift for your grandmother to her?"

"Yeah, but make sure to announce yourself before you walk in, or she won't understand where the breeze is coming from," Andre suggested.

"No worries, I'll give her plenty of warning," Tori assured him. She paused. "It's also a shame we can't be together on our first Christmas after moving here."

"Hey, that's alright. You have family back in L.A.," Andre said easily. "You should be there with them."

"And then I would feel bad," Tori muttered.

"Even if I could come, there's NYU to think about," Andre added.

"That's true," Tori agreed. "So you're fine with me going back to L.A.?"

"Of course," Andre said with a smile.

Tori updated her status on TheSlap which read: "Going back to L.A. for Christmas! - MOOD = Joyful".

At Hollywood Arts, the next day, Trixie approached Leah's locker.

"Hey, cutie," Trixie said.

"What's up, babe?" Leah asked, as the two shared a small kiss.

"Are you looking forward to what could be the best Christmas ever?" Trixie asked.

"Well, if you add the fact that it's my first one with the Vega's, I think so," Leah said, closing her locker.

"Excellent. I figured after school, we could swing by the mall. My folks already emailed me their Christmas list and it'd be an opportunity for me to get some shopping done. Plus the mall even has a wrapping station, so I don't have to worry about being walked in on by my folks while trying to wrap their gifts," Trixie suggested.

"And I could find a Christmas present for Tori! She's coming home for the holidays and she even promised me she'd stay in town for my birthday," Leah added.

"Oh, is your birthday coming soon? I want to be at your party," Trixie asked.

"Do you really think I'd exclude my own girlfriend from my party?" Leah asked.

"I sure hope not," Trixie said with a playful smirk.

"Well, you're coming," Leah said as the school bell rang. "Shall we go to class?"

"Let's go," Trixie said as the two walked to class hand in hand.
