Lydia sat down on a wooden bench next to the food stand as Gyutaro ordered her food. She thought it was strange that he didn't even ask her what she wanted and shouldn't she be the one ordering her own food. He was a demon after all and didn't really eat human food right? The more she pondered about this the more she wasn't entirely sure since she only read the one volume of Demon Slayer.
Suddenly Gyutaro pushed several sticks of grilled fish into her hand.
"This is a lot of food!" Lydia exclaimed and counted seven fish.
"Do you not want it? You said you were hungry!" he said get irritated with her.
"Yes, but I'm not a damn grizzly bear! I can't eat all of it by myself!" she began splitting the fish so they all weren't overbearing in one of her hands.
"Unless you want to share with me!" Lydia looked at Gyutaro expectantly. She wanted him to admit that he was a demon it was driving her crazy.
He sat next to her more irritated than ever. He hated being out here in front of all the busybody people with their prying eyes. They weren't particularly staring at him, but more at Lydia. What bothered him the most was he saw those five men who followed her the other day lurking in the crowd.
"I don't want no stinken fish!" he grunted. He stared directly at those men daring them to try and lure his prey away from him.
"But you want me to eat it though!"
"Your going to be picky too huh!" Gyutaro was suddenly reminded of the argument he had with his sister.
"No, but your lucky I love fish and seafood!" she said between bites for her hungry got the best of her. It was so tasty to her, but still there was no way she could finsh all of this.
"Your a demon aren't you?" Lydia gulped underneath her breath.
"And where did you get that idea from?" he sneered finally stared at her trying not to act surprised.
She listed off all his attributes and characteristics that he displayed to her. His super strength when ripped her demin shorts, his speed to be in front of her in a blink of a eye and his sensitivity to sunlight. He putting his arm around her shoulders and leaned in real close to ear.
"No, I asked you where is this all coming from? Because when you were talking about the future not once did you mention demons," Gyutaro whispered as goosebumps raised on the back of her neck.
She opened and closed her mouth a couple times. Before make up some lame excuse that she heard someone in town telling a folktale about demons when she was getting some fresh air.
"That's ok keep your secrets for now because you'll pay for them later..."
"G-Gyutaro is that supposed to mea-"
"Nevermind that, do see those men who keep leering at you? They are the same men who you ran from when you first came here,"
Lydia gasped and hard squinted, but sadly couldn't see a thing, but blurry blobs in front of her.
"Oh yeah I forgot you got pitiful ain't shit human eyes can't see!" Gyutaro chuckled as she struggled to see in the direction he was referring.
"I could see properly if you weren't such a demon asshole who took my glasses!" she snapped at him feeling his smirk on her cheek.
Suddenly he stood up from his sit because one of the men were waving him over.
"G-Gyutaro! Where are you going?!" Lydia asked. She did not want to be left alone especially after what he had just said to her. Also he promised to be her guide.
"Don't worry I be back and do not leave from this spot," he ordered loving to hear the panic in her voice.
Before she knew it he melted into the crowd and she damned him with all of her being.
Gyutaro followed the group of men to a rundown whore house and upstairs into a private room. Good for him, but all bad for them.
"What do you want?' he spat at them because he want to hear what they had to say before killing them.
"That exotic woman. You are her pimp are you not? We will pay you double to take her off your hands," the balding one said with a smarmy smile.
It sort of ticked him off that they think that they could just take her with only a sack of coins. He knew all too well that they would just use and abuse her in this less than prestige house.
Gyutaro cared nothing about money because Daki accumulated a grand fortune from all the clients and Oiran she has eaten over the years. But having Lydia around did propose an interesting opportunity for him, since they did assumed he was her pimp. It was a perfect way get to more food not just for him, but for his sister as well.
Gyutaro suddenly held up five fingers without a word confusing the men.
"F-Five times the price is far too much for the bitch!?" the man blurted out at the preposterous price tag.
"No you misinterpreted me she will cost you all of your lives!" Gyutaro bared his fangs and lunged at them. He was unafraid of their katana knowing they weren't made of Nichirin blades. He did make sure that not a single one of them made a sound as blood painted the room.
"What is taking him so long?" Lydia sighed full off of eaten two out of the seven grilled fish. She has been waiting for him for fifteen minutes now. She wasn't some damn dog because she wasn't going to keep waiting for him.
"Umm excuse me miss, but are you going to eat all of those fishy?" a little girl with short hair said looking very hungry.
"N-No sweetie take all of them if you like," Lydia said taken aback by the little girl just roaming the streets by herself.
"Thank you!" the girl smiled wide showing one her buck teeth missing. The little girl was wearing a slight dirty orange kimono with a gaunt looking dog near her bare feet.
"Jiro here food!" it barely left her hand before the dog munched it up.
"Where is your mom or dad? Are you going to be okay?" she asked full of concern for this small child.
"My mommy is at home sick, but she will feel better once I give her this food. So thank you kind lady!"
Lydia thought she was so precious and wanted to protect her and her dog. Suddenly the little girl looked so fearful and her dog began whimpering as well.
"So you give the food I gave to you to some mangy mutt and some random ass kid?" Gyutaro came back scratching the bottom of his chin.
"I already told that I can't finish it on my own!" Lydia said annoyed with him, because it now been twenty minutes since she was forced to wait for him.
"Your so ungrateful that food was for you and you only!" he completely disagreed with her because she could saved it for later.
"T-Thank you nice lady! Come Jiro!" the little girl feeling like she was over stay her welcome. She took off running with her dog and the food.
"Shit Gyutaro! She just some poor little girl did you have to scare her away like that?"
"Yes...yes I did!" he disliked animals and he disliked children even more.
Lydia noticed he was wearing an entirely different fresh cloak and knew right away that he must have gotten rid of those men who were stalking her.
"I want to thank you-,"
"I still think your ungrateful," he easily dismissed.
"For!" Lydia felt her anger flare up a bit because she didn't like being cut off like that.
"For taking care of those men because they would have hassle me relentless no doubt,"
Gyutaro nodded asked if she was ready to leave because he was tired of being in the public eye. He thought maybe his sister was right in calling her a psycho because any other sane human would have runaway by now. He gotten his old cloak so messed up that he had to stolen a new one and then told Daki's belt to finish the leftovers he left. But he did get a bit jealous when he saw Lydia give her food away to that small child and dog. Secretly wishing he had someone like that when he was a human child.
"I would like to ask you one more tiniest favor though," Lydia cooed in the sweetest voice she could possibly muster.
"No," Gyutaro automatically shut that shit down.
"Please I only want to take a bath!" she felt absolutely filthy because it has been over twenty four hours since she cleaned herself. She did not care that she wasn't in the future anymore because personal hygiene was still very important to her.
"A bath?" he paused staring at her as his eyes looked her up and down.
"I'll make it worth your wild! My big and strong hero," hoping that buttering him up was working in her favor.
"Hmm you better Ly-di-a," Gyutaro grinned wickedly instantly thinking of a perfect place to take her.
