AN bleuxe: I worked hard to get everything set for the next chapter so please enjoy...I'm so excited for Demon Slayer season 3 man I can't wait for April!

After Daki and Gyutaro seem satisfied yelling at her. They seem to ignore her to talk amongst themselves. Lydia soon realized that she was too sober for this bullshit. She walked into the other room and closed the door for privacy. She remembered there was alcohol in here. As soon as she entered the room, it was freezing, and she immediately thought the window was open.

She saw that it was closed and thought it was strange on why there was frost everywhere. Rubbing her hands together, she could literally see her breath as she sat down. Daki's belt was draped hanging from the ceiling and walls like party streamers. Lydia picked the chopsticks once decided to eat, then drink.

Everything was so cold that she might as well be outside in the snow right now. As soon as she took a bite of food, Daki's belt was in her face and screeched at her.

"Don't eat that!" Lydia looked shocked because the belt had yellow eyes and a mouth to talk.

"Since when did you become sentient?" she questioned, but still shoved food in her mouth because she was hungry.

She wasn't going to drink sake on an empty stomach, and she doubled checked that there wasn't any blood on/in her food, it just was a little bit icy and cold. Suddenly, the belt slapped the bowl out of her hand and shattered it on the table.

"Are you hard of hearing? Don't eat that!"

She wanted to shout at it, why not? When instead she hunched over in agony, holding her belly. Instantly Daki and Gyutaro entered the room to see Lydia laying on the ground in the fetal position.

"Ugh! I don't feel so good!" she bemoaned. She felt like her entire body was dunk into a frozen lake and started shivering uncontrollably.

"This has to be the stupidest thing you ever did Ly-di-a!" Gyutaro chuckled at the misfortune that befallen her.

"Douma used his blood demon art to keep that woman quiet earlier...all of this frost is toxic to humans!" Daki shook her head in disbelief at her.

Lydia tried to talk, wondering why none of them just stopped her from entering this room, but she just ended up a coughing non-stop instead.

"Your dying, but I'll save you by turning you into a demon," he reassured hovering over her embedded his fingernails into his palm.

"No more illness or constant pain. You'll be strong and no longer a weakling...wouldn't that be niiice?" as droplets of his blood rain on her cheek.

Lydia was solely focused on inhaling and exhaling because she couldn't die here nor did she want to become a demon.

"I don't know, brother wasn't she able to resist turning last time?"

Gyutaro frowned at that reminder because he didn't have a clue how she was able to do that, but it had to be a fluke.

"There mustn't have been enough blood for her ... Lydia is a greedy little thing. I bet if we both give blood, she wouldn't be able to resist then!"

Back then he wasn't being serious at seeing her anything, but food. Now he wanted her as his mate forever.

"I get to turn her too?" she mulled over at such a big decision as her brother nodded. The more demoness thought about it, the more excited she gotten about it. She never seen anyone turn before and couldn't remember what happened to her when she was made into a demon.

"You should feel honored Lydia because you got Upper Six willing to save you from your pitiful self!" Daki said proudly.

"W-wait!" Lydia's teeth clattered as she could barely speak. She rolled on her back panting with one eye opened looking up at them. It took a long time to draw her breath to utter syllables together.

"I-I wa-want to l-live, but as a h-human,"

"Impossible I would say you have five minutes tops before you die... Douma's ice which you happily ate is actively killing you,"

She literally looked around the room and ended up pointing at the window.

"I-Is the sun out?"

"And what of it? Your wasting your breath if you think you can walk out on your own to get outside!"

Gyutaro wasn't even going to entertain the idea of her stumbling around in the hallways alone. She would most likely die before getting to the stairwells anyways. It was like his sister said, at best she had five minutes before she had to kiss this miserable human life goodbye. She shook her head no before whispering.

"Let me o-open the window,"

"No and don't think for a minute you'll be able to sweet talk us out of it!" Daki already made up her mind.

"What would I get if I let you?" Gyutaro was intrigued by her choice of words.

"A-Anything please!" she felt like he was purposely wasting her time.

"Alright,"

"Brother no! Don't fall for it!"

"Calm down Daki and look at her...I doubt she'll make it in time," he ushered his sister out of the room.

Lydia felt determined to prove him wrong, now that she was alone again. It was hard for her to move because she never felt this sick before. Struggling to crawl her way to the window, that seems like a mile away no matter how close it actually was.

"Two minutes left... you gonna give up yet?" Gyutaro grinned ear to ear while staring through the crack of the door at her.

"You play around too much brother! Let's just change her already before it is too late!" Daki whined.

"I-I can m-make it," her hands were touching the wall, but she just needed to sit-up. Her arms wobbled because it was like her upper arm strength was gone. It was getting harder for her to breath with each passing second to a point where she was starting to see black polka dots in her sight.

Lydia collapsed flat and face first on the floor and she swore she could hear them laughing at her. She couldn't give up, and she couldn't turn into a man-eating demon, not here, not now, not ever. She closed her eyes for a moment and took the biggest breath forcing her constricted lungs to expand and the veins in her arms to bulge. With renewed strength she was able to get up and slide the window open.

When she did that, she heard the door where Gyutaro and Daki were at close shut. The sun beaming on her face and opening her eyes to the blinding light because it has been a week since she has been in daylight. Already she was feeling better like a heavy weight was lifted off of her and looking out seeing nothing, but snow.

It only started snowing last night, but it seemed like it was already steep. The sunlight seemed to burn away all of Douma's left behind frost in the room and Gyutaro's blood off her cheek. Wisps of blacken ash was whisked up in the air to evaporate like it was never there.

The sun felt good, and she felt like her melanated skin missed it. To be a demon would mean no more sun and Lydia didn't think she could ever live without the sun.

"Lydia is that you? You belong to the house of Kyogoku?" A familiar voice called out from below.

"What's up Heiwa? Long time no see! And no, I'm just visiting!" she was actually happy to see the boy.

"Who is that? Who are talking to you?!" Of course, Gyutaro would respond this way.

"Relax... he is just a child, " Lydia rolled her eyes.

"Tch sounded like one and I knew that!" he grumbled the last part under his breath, seemed to walk away from the door and probably sitting his crazy ass somewhere.

"Sorry to keep you waiting Heiwa," as a little girl came trotting out of the entrance below.

Instantly Lydia recognized her.

"Good morning Omitsu!"

She looked up surprised and smiled nervously remembering her from last night. Omitsu was glad to see Lydia was alright because she did protect her from Yatamahime's wraith.

"G-Good morning...does Yatamahime Oiran need me to do anything for her today?"

"Yea she can clean my room because there are fucking feathers and broken glass everywhere!" Daki mentioned in background.

"No, she said your doing a really good job!"

"Really!" Omitsu blushed seemly relieved.

"I didn't say any of that!" The demoness growled.

"Keep up the good work!" Lydia gave her a thumbs up.

Heiwa and Omitsu waved their goodbyes because they were in a hurry to get their errands done for their individual houses. She leaned on the window seal watching them marched down the snowy street, and it was making her sad. This was no type of life for children and honestly, she hoped their living conditions weren't too harsh.

As soon as a big cloud blanketed the sun entirely. With the quickness Lydia was yanked from the window and the window was snapped shut. She plopped down on her backside.

"Hey, I was sunbathing there!"

"You had enough sun for today,"

She would disagree with him because she was missing a week's worth of it. She was not a nocturnal creature that thrived in darkness like they did.

"Why put words in my mouth!" Daki pressed her. "Just look at my room it is a damn barnyard!"

"I'll clean it up! Just don't make that little girl do it!" Lydia began picking up broken glass.

"Hmph that works fine by me since you made the mess," she was satisfied with her answer.

"Yea, but I didn't make it by myself..." she was looking at Gyutaro expectantly, who was merely lounging on his side while digging into his ear.

"You got it... with your perfectly functioning limbs," he commented not even giving her so much as a glance.

He was still trying to figure out where she got the second wind to get up because she was literally dying. When he noticed the window panel to where she opened it, she must have gripped it so hard, it was splintered now. He twitched his fingers to feel his blood was still inside of her was no longer stuck, and she didn't seem to be reacting negativity to it, like before. She must have opened up them blood vessels for him and for now he will just keep it in her arm.

Lydia sighed while thinking he was such a lazy bag of bones. She coughed at a little because she didn't feel a hundred percent. After cleaning up she felt extremely exhausted and collapsed on the futon in the other room.

She didn't even get to close her eyes for a second before Gyutaro was shaking her awake again. Honesty she should have expected it by now because she could never get proper sleep with him around.

"What now!" Lydia spat.

"You owe me remember for not turning you...soo pay up!"

"Right now really? I swear you act like a debt collector sometime, always so inconvenient!"

"That because I am a debt collector...I was a debt collector as human and decided to stay one as demon,"

"Hmm well, I already have a payment plan set up for my student loan debts...so no thank you!" she answered him like he was a robo caller on her cellphone.

"What are you talking about?" he looked puzzled while itching his scalp.

"I'm tired Gyutaro! What else do you want from me!"

"Be my mate and let me put my mark on you,"

Lydia looked at him for a second before regarding what he said. She didn't know anything about what demons do in relationships and if she should be even agreeing to this. Especially after all the crap he put her through, but he didn't turn her and also prevented his sister from turning her. Maybe it was her being curious to the fact that she was still trying to figure out this world.

"Sure, but when you say mark do mean like a tattoo or something similar?"

"Yes, it is a tattoo that only demons can give to their mates," Gyutaro replied and secretly happy that she honored her word.

A couple of days passed of her being back at abandoned house and she was able to wear her glasses again because he finally gave them back to her. But unfortunately for her, the cough she was having was getting progressively worse. It like one day she was healthy and the next day not so much. He didn't think she fully gotten rid Douma's blood demon art inside of her. Being human had to just to be shitty and it didn't make any sense to him, why she wanted to stay one. She expressed to him that she wanted to go home and if he knew any way of getting back to the future. He said if there was a way that she wasn't leaving without him and Daki, making her stop mentioning home altogether to him.

Gyutaro carved the last touches of the pentagram in middle floor with a sacrificial dagger that the cult leader gave him.

"Your not going to (cough) s-sacrifice any animals with that.. are you?"

Lydia was becoming very wary of all this because she was wishing this would open a portal to home. The sinister way it was starting to look like it would summon a portal to hell. She really hoped he knew what he was doing because he confirmed with her that he never did this before.

"It is already stained with the blood of a virgin," he stared at his carving make sure everything was as it should be. He reminded himself to check the manga again when she was sleeping.

"I-I (cough) shouldn't have (cough) asked,"

After he was done, he put on his cloak and grabbed her hand to go to Daki's. She hot to the touch, she blamed the lack of food, sleep and sunshine. He would give her food, but she would hardly eat now, plus she would sleep all the time and he couldn't control that it was overcast most days.

"Damn you look horrible," was the first thing that came out of Daki's mouth when seeing her.

"I have (cough) a fever.." Lydia stood there woozy from the trek to get here.

Gyutaro was getting worried that she wouldn't be able to make it to the next full moon because that is when they had the do the mating ritual. She probably won't be able to withstand doing the ritual either. He was rethink keeping her human now.

She immediately went to the water jug to find it was empty.

"You used up all the water last time you were here," Daki snatched the jug back because she never thought of it refilled since she never was dehydrated.

Lydia suddenly dropped to her knees gasping and coughing.

"I think it best we turn you into a demon," he suddenly said making her eyes widen.

"N-No I just (cough) need the sunlight-"

"The sun isn't going to help especially with how short the days are, with it being winter and all ..."

"T-Then let (cough) m-me see a doctor then," she was trying to catch her breath.

Gyutaro and Daki looked at each other before they started cackling like a couple of hyenas.

"No doctor has ever entered Yoshiwara and nor do they want to," he jeered at such a silly respond.

Her look of confusion and annoyance was written clearly over her face.

"It just so much easier to throw the sick out on to the street," the demoness smiled evilly.

She knew that the red light district could be bad, but in these ancient times it was tragically messed up.

"This is how this place operates and it will never change," he murmured noticing her look of disgust before he squatted down to her level. "Stop being stubborn and just give in already before you end up dead!"

Lydia could no longer look him in his eyes shaking her head in refusal because he was being ridiculous, this was just a cold or at worse the flu. She began coughing so hard it was starting to hurt her chest, making her wish she had some cough syrup right about now.

"Tormenting a sickly woman.. is this how Upper Six operates?"

Gyutaro and Daki froze not expecting the presence of another Upper Moon in their territory. There climbing though the open window was Akaza looking enraged at what he just witnessed.
