AN bleuxe: Sorry I didn't update in June like I normally do. Last month was just bad for me and well I'm back hopefully so I can flush out these chapters as best I can. Happy 4th and enjoy reading to all!
Ume made sure to wrap snug around Lydia's neck. At first it scared her, but she soon realized why the belt was acting like this. It did not trust Hantengu being on her shoulder. She couldn't blame Ume really because she herself hardly trusted this man. Since Hantengu was mostly talking out of fear at her or then to himself.
Lydia was starting to regret having this small horned demon tag along. She kept asking Ume if it felt any of their presence and it was always a no. It was really getting her down in the dumps after an hour and half of aimlessly wandering around.
"Hantengu! (cough) L-Look all I need from you is direction on how to get Gyutaro and Daki!" she was trying to get him to focus on her task.
"Who?" he shook like a leaf from her interrupting his self muttering.
This pissed Ume off greatly and was very attempted to whack him to the floor.
"You know who they are! They are both Upper Six!"
F-Forgive me, but it is unheard of for two demons to be sharing the same ranked number in Kizuki!" Hantengu spoke deeply confused by what the belt was telling him.
He only faintly remembers meeting that demoness and already forgot her name after he met her. That name Gyutaro though didn't ring any bells for him either.
"Their a special exception, so don't you ever forget that!"
Lydia couldn't help, but smile because the belt's loyalty was endless even though it could get irritating at times. Something that she was curious about though.
"What is Kizuki and does the numbers mean anyways?"
She remembered when Daki was so proud at being Upper Six, while Gyutaro on the other hand didn't seem to care or mention it at all. Before Ume could explain anything to her, Hantengu literally started to have a panic attack on her shoulder.
"Ahh No-o you mustn't tell her! She is human and does not need to know Kizuki's secrets!" he mourned, wanting to protect such secrets.
And the small horned demon kept harping as an anger mark appeared on the belt.
"She will only use it against us!"
"She will surely tell the demon slayer corps!"
"She can't be trusted!"
With rapid speed Ume was able to cut him and slice off his head to finally shutting his stupid ass up.
"It is you who can't be trusted and Lydia should never have had pity for you!"
"Ume..."
"What! Don't tell me you still feel bad for this cretin!" The belt huffed because honestly Hantengu was fine. He was unfortunately still a demon after all.
When Lydia shook no and began petting the silky sash as a thank you because his screeching was giving her a migraine. She was hoping to use Hantengu as a GPS in order to navigate this place, but sadly his paranoia was at crackhead levels. But it was a wonderful feeling to see Ume's loyalty extended over to her as well. Out of Lydia's peripherals she noticed something forming and growing where Hantengu's body fell on the floor.
Until two full grown men were looming over her making her clutch onto the belt out of fear. One had red pupils with matching irises glowing like twin blood moons, inky black hair with a couple strains on his forehead between his horns as he toted a monk's staff with a permanent scowl glued to his face. The second one might have well been the first one's body double except his eyes shined like emeralds as he grinned widely, shirtless and with an interesting looking maple leaf fan in his hand.
"Yahoo!" The green eyed one expressed with glee.
"Finally free! How long has it been Sekido huh? Tell me already!"
"It has been forty years too long being stuck to you Karaku! So be quiet already!" The aggravated one stamped his staff to the floor.
Lydia swore she saw sparks flew off his weapon when it hit the ground, but she wasn't too sure. Even though she was scared at their sudden appearance out of nowhere, she couldn't help, but to ask.
"Are you from-m (cough) here?"
Both were very quiet for a second as if they just realized that she was there in front of them.
"Of course we are from here...why ask such an idiocy question?" Sekido replied hotly.
"Sorry (cough) i-it just we have damn (cough) near the same complexion..."
She didn't know why, but she ignorantly thought she wouldn't be bumping into someone especially in this era with similar skin tone as hers. It was comforting in a way to her.
"We are Japanese! Not a foreigner like you are woman!"
"No need to be mean I meant (cough) no harm by it," Lydia instantly frown no longer feeling a bond toward Sekido anymore. Ume gently caressed her neck protective, it was trying to warn her to be careful around this one.
"Don't mind him cause he is always mad about something, but hey you have a point there!" Karaku suddenly very interested in her.
He had never seen a foreigner, especially not someone like her before and it excited him. Japan has been in a isolated period for about two hundred years now. Though he has been hearing rumors that the isolation was lifting soon.
"If you show me yours I'll show you mine!" he had his tongue poking between his fangs. He saw something shiny like metallic in her mouth and he just had to see what it was.
At first Lydia didn't have a clue what he was going on about and then realized it was her piercing he was curious about. She happily obliged because she loved showing off her piercings. Wishing she had her earrings in so she could show off those too. Ume let out a low growl wishing Lydia wouldn't humor him.
"That's awesome!" Karaku exclaimed.
"Why would you do that to yourself?" Sekido asked disapprovingly of her piercing.
"It aesthetically pleases me," Lydia chuckled. She did not care if he liked it or not because his brother, well just assumed he was his brother, liked it.
"Looky here girly!" he suddenly stuck his tongue out revealing his tattoo.
"Pleasure... that's (cough) a-a pretty cool tattoo," she spoke breathlessly. Karaku looked incredibly sexy and to have that meaning on his tongue was enough to make her imagine very bad things in her head, especially with that six pack of his.
"Hmm for a foreigner your Japanese is very proficient," Sekido replied somewhat impressed that she could read Kanji.
Lydia froze because he did have a point, but didn't know how that was possible because her Japanese was very subpar in the future. It had to be the fact that she was magically thrown into this world.
"I like that a lot," Karaku licked his lips and then gotten really up close in her personal bubble.
"Tell me girly, does my tongue aesthetically please you?"
It was enough to make Lydia's fever come back in full force.
"You better back off!" Ume suddenly spun around her upper body to push him back. It did not like what this bastard was trying to pull with her.
"Whoa you wanna play little parasite! I never had a chance to thank you for freeing me!" he attempted to snatch the fabric from her neck.
"Ume (cough) hide now!" she commanded as the belt safely tucked itself within her kimono again.
The two demons were actually surprised that she was protecting the belt.
"You know woman, that thing is a demon right?" Sekido questioned angrily why a human would do such a thing.
"Its name is Ume... I believe your both from Hantengu's body so you should already know my name too because it is not woman!" she remarked annoyed.
She remembered Daki explained to her about how Gyutaro sometimes hides on her back and she didn't understand how that was possible. Until seeing what happened now with Hantengu's body after Ume beheaded him. He must have his siblings living inside of him too.
"She got you there!" Karaku smile so playfully.
"Beware Lydia...Sekido doesn't like being outsmarted by anyone, especially not by a human!"
"Shut-up Karaku! I can't tell who is more annoying you or her!" he snapped at him.
Lydia was getting very weary of this situation especially since she was nowhere closer to finding Daki or Gyutaro. She explained once more that she needed to find them and was practically begging to get out of this maze of a castle. She started to sweat profusely and drink the last bit of water that was left in the gourd.
Sekido wasn't interested in helping her find Upper Six and Karaku was grinning like the idiot he is, probably thinking of ways of messing with her. His frown deepened wondering why she was in the infinity castle in the first place. Humans were not permitted here at all, unless...
"His lordship must have permitted you being here and if he wanted you there, then you would've been there with them,"
She nodded because what he was saying made sense, but she then had to explain that Akaza kidnapped and left her here.
"Akaza was in his right because he is Upper Three and there is nothing Upper Six can do about it!" Karaku said and then chuckled at the funny face she just made.
"In his right?! That's the most backward ass stupid shi-"
"It's true," Sekido immediate cut her off. "Something you wouldn't nor should understand human!"
Lydia glared at him seeing now that he was never going to help her, that made it likely that Karaku won't help either and Hantengu was anything, but helpful. Through the small horned demon disappeared somewhere, which made her wondered where did he go? She sighed, feeling Ume hugging her waist underneath her obi trying to comfort her as she crossed her arms to hug it back. She had to get out of here and ditch these two demons somehow.
Meanwhile deep within the castle
Staring up at the ceiling was all Gyutaro could do and he supposed this was better than staring at the floor like before. But none of this was by his choice especially since his head was severed from his body. After Master Muzan read all the manga that they gave him, each one of their heads dropped to the wooden floor with a resonating thud. At least it wasn't painful, but he hated having a sense of déjà vu because it was a reminder of him and his sister's horrible defeat.
"Excellent thinking Gyutaro, I believe this all should be your punishments...might even learn from each other's mistakes," Muzan's voice filled the quiet void once more. Knowing his cells could penetrate all of their minds to see their failures as he saw them.
Gyutaro wished for death at that moment, while other Kizuki were oblivious to his thoughts and anxiously waited for the master's punishment.
