AN bleuxe: I failed you in April, but hopeful I'm triumph in May plus with that season 4 coming out. it is going to be amazing month! Enjoy this chapter and I can't wait for this new season of Demon Slayer!
This was such a strange night for Lydia because it ended with her giving a demonstration on how to use a cellphone. In a way it sort of felt like she was giving a TED talk on technology that she would see on YouTube. She pretended she was talking to people who were hopeful for future technology instead of bewildered demons who looked at her like she was speaking a foreign language to them.
It honestly made her miss her time even more, especially having the internet and being able to mindlessly scroll on social media to get her mind off of things. She really wished she was back in the future, like driving her car, being surrounded by family, hanging out with friends, doing mundane tasks like grocery shopping, hell she even take going to work and she hated that place most days.
Lydia realized how she took things in the future for granted and all things that were now cruel memories. Even her roommates were most likely mourning her, she hoped they were able to make their high ass rent without her. The only upside about this era was she no longer had to worry about paying bills and was debt free, but even that wasn't worth the price of losing everyone important to her.
"That's good enough," Muzan said, getting the gist of it and took the cell phone from her hand and walked away.
"Akaza and Gyutaro follow me," he ordered as they immediately got up and disappeared behind the screen door.
Lydia clutching her hand into a fist as her tail swayed in annoyance because he didn't even ask and just yoink her phone in mid-sentence. She mentally told herself to calm down because he has to give it back because it has no usefulness in this time period.
"Relax Lydia your so tense!" Daki said not liking the murderous face expression she was giving.
"H-He not going to keep my phone right Daki?" she was worried.
Her phone was unlocked even if there wasn't any Wifi, there were still photos, videos and text messages that were meant only for her. Plus the battery was at fifty percent, wanting to turn it off. She wanted her phone to from losing power as long as possible to cherish moments that she kept over the years.
"Whatever master wants he gets... just be honored that you gave him something he is interested in,"
Lydia was fully freaking out now as she ran over to the door because this was not only a privacy issue, but it was her phone!
"Where they go?!" she cried when opening the door to see they were completely gone.
Daki merely shrugged her shoulders, sort of upset that her brother and Akaza were with master Muzan instead of her. She was Upper Six too shouldn't she be there with her brother unless he didn't think so?
"Stop that excessive whining Lydia I'm not in the mood!" she decided to snap at her.
"B-But you don't understand your phone is an extension of yourself!"
"Wow even if it doesn't really work anymore it is still valuable to you?" Douma spoke behind her, making her jump.
"It just I want to save the battery, there pictures, videos and voicemails...of my family and friends since I can't really interact with them anymore,"
"Aww you miss them!" his rainbow eyes welled up with tears.
As he held onto her hands, the memories of him slicing through those orians like they were butter came to mind after he shed those fake tears before.
"I'm good!" Lydia instantly flinged his icy cold hands off of her and moved toward Daki again.
"I'm curious though your not hungry in the slightly though?"
Her skin crawled as she looked back at the dead slayer she created. For her just the thought of eating that, was just something she couldn't stomach.
Upper Two purposely ignored her look of repulsion and knew he was hitting a nerve.
"It is fresh food and you just turned,"
"Douma your such an idiot!" Daki huffed. She was getting a headache as stood in front of her in a protective way.
"It was like you weren't even listening to master Muzan at all! Well, then again your head was missing at the time, but still that's no excuse!" she spat while flipping her hair behind her smacking the other demoness in the face.
"She is a hybrid we don't know much about her eating habits," Lydia rubbed her face side eyeing Daki.
She started touching her ears and for some reason they felt weird to her.
"Where are my ear piercings!"
"Oh those ugly little holes closed up as soon as you turned,"
Lydia felt like this night could get any worse and wished she kept her studs in, but at least she still had her snake eyes. Making sure felt her tongue piercing as she licked her lips. Daki commented how hideous that piercing was and how it ruined her looks.
"That is interesting, do a lot of people in future get such piercings?" Gyokko commented curiously about it.
"Yes, some people even have piercings on their private parts," Lydia purposely said this to disgust Daki for calling her piercings hideous.
"How crude and grotesque!" Upper Five didn't seem to like her answer either while Hantengu murmured.
"D-Don't (sobs) ask her (sobs) anymore questions t-trust me y-you'll regret it Gyokko!"
"Hmm well how someone chooses to express themselves isn't any of my business," she was trying to not let Hantengu get under her skin.
"Like you for example I would say you sitting in that fine piece of porcelain is very avant-garde of you," Lydia said, putting her hands up to have both thumbs and pointer fingers touch to form a square. Then putting in front of her eye as she was taking in his profile like an artist.
"Oh ho ho an art lover are we?" Gyokko expressed gleefully. Lydia nodded thinking she was finally going to have a pleasant conversation.
Meanwhile...
Muzan took the phone apart while also drawing a schematic of this electronic device in his personal journal. He hated to admit that humans had some ingenious engineering. He definitely needed to keep an eye on the tech industry and other industrial fields in the future.
Gyutaro was staring at all the different vitals and beakers bubbling in this laboratory. He felt clueless what any of these things were for and he hated that made him feel stupid. Especially since Akaza was here with him and wondered why he was here in the first place?
"He is here because I want him to be here. Don't question my decisions Gyutaro," quickly quieting his mind.
"Tell me Akaza, what do you think of Gyutaro's fighting skills?" the king of demons asked but, he was actually too preoccupied pulling apart broken plastic and metal of the stun gun now.
Listening to Upper Three brutally downplay his fighting skills made him feel like such a little boy at that moment. Especially since he really couldn't defend himself since he did challenge him stupidly in a blood battle at the time.
"Altogether I would say it was a valiant effort, but it lacked discipline and was very misguided," Akaza finished, seeing now that it was indeed a misunderstanding between them.
"Are you willing to give him guidance,"
"I-I yes, I'm willing to master," he replied surprised by this suggestion while Upper Six's eyes widened as well.
"With all the new information that has been happening lately. I need all of Kizuki to prevent what is going to happen in the Taisho era and start working together," Muzan started with venom blaming Kagaya Ubuyashiki. His damn teamwork with the Hashira and Tamayo was the real catalyst of his downfall.
"But I also want to destroy the way they are getting info about demons and that means culling other weaker demons," he finished his drawing of the stun gun inside and out.
"I'm banning the creation of any more demons until I see fit. Meaning anyone who gets my cells by accident or purpose will die, unless there are any anomalies..." he only wanted the strongest of the demons and was reminded that he was too giving with his cells before.
"Akaza I want you to track down the final selection, I would hope it would be easier for you to find the Blue Spider Lily,"
"Of course master I will find-"
"Also every few months you are to test Upper Six's strength," he instantly cut him off.
Afterwards Akaza bowed because he was dismissed and left, Gyutaro all by himself. He was unsure how to gauge the situation now, but he did make sure not to think anything idiotic. He felt like all night he was misstepping in front of master Muzan and wanted to prove that he can do better.
"Do you love her?...Lydia?"
"Y-Yes," Gyutaro answered nervously, not wanting to lie, but also did not expect such a random question.
"Can you afford to have another weakness? When you already have Daki?" Muzan questioned callously and closed his journal to rifle through Lydia's things.
"I believe I can," he answered without really thinking about it. Honestly it hurt him that someone so powerful thought so lowly of his little sister and had to prove to the master one day that she can be his equal.
The demon king merely picked a manga called How Not to Summon because it looked like it was readied several times. It had Gyutaro's scent all over it as he flipped through the pages.
"You believe this is real...inmon?" .
"Oh yes, the next full moon master I will show you!" Gyutaro nodded because he believed with his whole heart that this was very much real.
"I will expect accurate results then," Muzan commanded him with a calculated look.
