AN bleuxe: I tried to get this out on Juneteenth, but writing and editing. Just doing everything on my own, summers being my most busiest, had a hard time thinking of a chapter name and there most likely OOC in this excuses excuses excuses. Enjoy and Happy read

Gyutaro sure was glad that was over with as the door automatically shut behind him. Talking to the master could be so nerve-wracking at times he could only wish that he never had to speak or see him again. But unfortunately, Gyutaro had to show proof that this inmon was real and better be real or all hell will break loose. He didn't understand how his sister could be so enamored with that man.

Not only that, but he was also giving a whole lot more responsibilities than before, it was like the future was trying to fuck him over now. Subconsciously he felt like he was breaking out in hives because he had to go and confessed his love for Lydia. Like some wimpy sad sack, but he had to tell the truth in order to not get verbally or physically ripped apart.

"Pathetic (itch) why I'm soo (scratch) weak!" With his nails dug into the sides of his face.

"Why must you be disgusting as well..." Akaza interrupted leaning on a wall nearby with his arms crossed.

"Tch don't you have to go (itch) get lost in some wisteria (scratch) or better yet go die in some!" Gyutaro purposely drew blood to his own skin this time.

"Dramatic as well," he snorted and walked over causing him to tense up expecting an all-out brawl again.

Upper Three merely handed over Lydia's glasses while Gyutaro with the quickest he snatched it from him seeing the lens had a crack in them.

"Shouldn't have never taken them from her in the first place!"

"I didn't they fell from her and she herself nearly dropped to her death too if I wasn't there to grab her,"

"She would have never been in danger if you never snatched her from me in the first place!" Gyutaro scrutinized with both his scythes fully out. If he thought that he was about to thank him then he got another thing coming to him.

"It is good to see that you actually care for her, might even love her?"

Akaza's remarks made him fully glare because it meant he was eavesdropping on the conversation earlier. He was already humiliated by the master from that admission and refused to go through that shit again.

"You stay away the fuck from her!"

"Trust me I don't want your mate..." he rolled his eyes at this point because his jealousy was misplaced. The pink haired demon began smirking, he was already anticipating their next battle.

"Next time you better not hold back because I definitely won't,"

After Akaza said that he literally raced out there at lightning speed making Gyutaro grumble angrily underneath his breath.

"Look Daki, I found him!" Lydia exclaimed and ran up to him.

"Hmph I can see that and quit yelling!" Daki huffed because she told her what direction to go because of the connection with her brother.

He wondered why they went to go looking for him because he was always going to come back to them. That's when he noticed the tears threatening to spill out his mate's eyes.

"What's this for huh?" Gyutaro immediately took both his thumbs to wipe away tears from her eyes.

"Oh those...the little psycho wanted to see Gyokko's other artwork," his sister sighed, but still laughed at her reaction.

"We were having such a great conversation too, but he kept going on and on about showing his masterpiece to me!"

Lydia was so upset at the way Upper Five desecrated that young slayer's body turning it into a twisted-up mess. She wished that she could give him a proper burial instead of being someone's so-called art.

Gyutaro frowned, not liking her looking sad for that punk because he was trying to kill her the moment, he saw her.

"What did the tacky one want?" Daki asked because she briefly saw Akaza standing in front of her brother.

"Later..."

He didn't feel like discussing it here because he was too through being in the Infinite castle.

"Biwa woman take us back to Yoshiwara!"

With a strum of a single chord, they were back in Daki's room, but unfortunately the sunlight was blaring in the room because the window was left open. Lydia ran to shut the window while Gyutaro covered his sister from getting burned.

After she closed the window, she checked on them huddled in the corner of the room. It was the only shade that was in the room at the time.

"Are you ok? You were on fire for a second!" watching as his burn marks disappeared and his hair regrown back onto his skull.

"Better me than her," he grunted because he was having horrible flashbacks of that day when his sister nearly died from horrible burns.

"I'm going kill that stupid girl Omitsu! Not only did she not clean my room, but she didn't shut my window!?" Daki was beyond furious at the near death experience.

Lydia did her best to calm her down not wanting to have another child's death on her hands. Explaining to her that she needed her as an assistant and didn't want to start all over with someone new.

"You could have died Lydia, especially the way you were standing in the sun like that!"

The demoness wasn't trying to hear anything Lydia was saying because the only reason she was alive is because she was a hybrid.

"You don't feel any pain?" he asked patted her head seeing the sun forced her back into her human form.

"Just hungry and tired," she mostly yawned.

Gyutaro could tell Lydia couldn't have been more happier than she then was now, to be back to human and it made him feel conflicted. What master Muzan wanted to know was the capabilities of a hybrid since there was little to no information about them. That meant testing her limits and possibly putting her life at risk.

"Well you should count yourself lucky cause I'm going to have to teach how to fight,"

"What really?" Her dark brown eyes lit up as she paused in mid-stretch.

"Why the sudden change of heart?"

She was curious, remembering he went on and on how he would protect her to the point she didn't need to learn how to fight.

"Things change and I... you..." he twisted up his lips in frustration and then ripped into his neck.

Instead of watching him inflicted anymore pain on himself. Lydia ran up to hold his hand in order to stop him.

"You know I hate seeing you hurting yourself!"

"This doesn't hurt," Gyutaro scoffed and with his free hand kept on scratching like a damn lottery ticket.

She sighed and then took hold of both his hands making him look at her. She saw him doing this as a bad nervous habit like he was just trying to escape his own body.

"Your going to be okay and everyone is safe now,"

Lydia realized it was an extremely rough night for all of them, life threatening even. Gyutaro actually felt all his tension melt away in her arms as she hugged him. Her words weren't meaningless either and it was true, they were safe for now.

"Alright enough of this mushy shit!" he easily slink out of her hug after seeing his sister's gleeful look.

"Self care is the best care and I really do...lo...care about you too!" Lydia almost had a Freudian slip.

"Yeah you better," he smiled slyly.

Before she knew it, Gyutaro morphed with his sister and she would say it was horrifying to watch. But unfortunately she has seen much worse than this since being here. She felt sort of empty at the sudden disappearance especially since he didn't even say his goodbyes.

Daki grabbed her kiseru and lit it by the flame of a candle. She was giving the missing information that she needed. The tremendous burden that her brother had to carry from the tasks given by the master. She had to show that he didn't have to carry it alone.

"Do you really need to smoke?" she wondered what tobacco really does for the demoness.

"Yes,"

She made sure to blow smoke her way as Lydia rapidly waved her hand in front of her own face.

"I need you to do an errand for me,"

"Really Daki? After you just try to give me lung damage again. I just healed up!" she was trying to hold back her coughs.

"You either do this or I'll kill that brat!"

Lydia didn't want to believe that she would hurt Omitsu, but she looked deadly serious. So she begrudgingly agreed, wishing Daki didn't have such a violence streak just like her brother.

"I need you to go to a woodmaker to get me a new table because of you breaking it,"

"I didn't (sigh) fine!" she literally gritted her teeth because if Gyutaro wasn't in the way he would have never gotten shocked.

"Good better get going then they're only open during the day, with you being human and all!" the demoness hated that she had to shove her out of her room like this. But Master Muzan wanted to know if the sunlight had any other negative effects on her body for long periods of time.

"Daki you forgot to give me money I doubt I can get this crap for free Daki?!" Lydia whispered harshly against her door because she was highly pissed now.
