Science is a finicky mistress where you either prove your theories right the first time around or learn from the mistakes from it.
Magic is just too baffling to comprehend as it seems there's no concrete agreement as to how it works, and yet it does with great success.
Now trying to combine the 2 is well, let's just say a bit mad from those who believe in science entirely.
"Ok, I am more than certain this will work this time" said Art confidently as he was working on a trans dimensional portal as everyone was gathered around to see his invention succeed, while low key wanting to see how bad this'll blow up on him.
"20 gold coins say that thing not only blows up but he gets impaled by flying shrapnel" Vince whispered to Abby, "Make it 40" said Abby, "Deal".
"Ok guys, after much trial and error, and me dying repeatedly in a comedic fashion to your guys' amusement, I am sure this time our portal will finally work" said Art.
"You say that, but I'm still waiting to believe it" taunted Vince, "Then brace your britches, cause my portal is now active and ready to go" exclaimed Art as he pushed the button on his remote only to get a light spark from the machine, but nothing else.
"Is that supposed to happen" asked Samantha, "No, I don't know went wrong, Snap, you did set the thing to wumbo right" asked Art.
"I have stated many times that this wumbo, much less the study of wumbology is merely pure fiction" said Snap, "Just check what went wrong please" said Art.
And the bright side, nothing exploded and no one got hurt, said Sir Duster, "And on the even brighter side I'm 40 gold coins richer" said Abby with a smug smile as Vince began to pay up.
"Art, I'm gonna kick your ass once you and walking calculator are done fixing whatever you screwed up" said Vince as Art shot him the bird in retaliation.
"Art good news, were merely forgot to plug in one little cord" said Snap as this brought back the mood again.
"Triple or nothing, that thing finally explodes" said Vince, "Oh you're on" said Abby confidently.
"Ladies and gentlemen, let's crossover into the new frontier" said Art as he pressed the button on the remote as his machine began to start up and show some signs of it working.
"Come on, damn you, work" Art said eagerly as the machine looked like it was going to finally do what he had hoped it would do, but like many times before, something went wrong.
How wrong, simple, the machine imploded and started to suck everyone inside into the great unknown as this was the start of their new life.
Elsewhere
In the main hall to a large elaborate high school somewhere on the peninsula of Northern California, 2 large portals opened as a large abundance of students began to emerge from within the portals.
However it should be noted that these students aren't from the same world as evident by how flowing from 1 portal you got students that definitely came from the tales of Mother Goose and the Brothers Grim, while the other portal had students emerging from the Universal Classic horror films to even modern day cinema slashers and B grade films.
"Ugh, where are we" groaned Clawdeen as she held her aching head, "I don't know but do me a favor and get off me already" demanded Cleo.
"Sorry bout that ghoul friend" said Clawdeen, "Frankie, do you know where we at Sheila" asked Lagoona.
"No, why you ask" asked Frankie, "Well not to stereotype here, but you normally have a knack for getting us into a new adventure" said Draculaura.
As the group of ghouls chatted amongst themselves, across from them the other group of students began to chat.
"Does anyone know how we ended up here" asked Apple as she began to get back on her feet.
"Well don't start thinking I have anything to do with this, because I don't" stated Raven as she began to dust herself off.
"Wasn't going to, but good to know" said Apple, "Well frankly speaking I'm just glad it's not a planned attack from the evil queen or the wicked step sisters. No offense Raven" said Briar.
"None taken" sighed Raven, "Still I am curious as to where we're at, after all this isn't wonderland" said Madeline.
"Well wherever we are, we got some company" said Cerise as she began to growl towards the ghouls across their way.
"Oh my, who are they" gasped Apple, "Fear not ladies, for I and my fellow Princes' are here to keep you all safe" said Daring, "Speak for yourself pretty boy" said Ramona as she and Cerise were ready to crack some skulls.
"Hey ghouls, we got some fast company heading our way" said Clawdeen, "Normies, and they look pretty angry" said Heath.
"If it's a fight they want, let's kick some normie butt and send their ugly hides back to where they're from" said Deuce as he began to crack his knuckles, "Present company excluded I hope" said Jackson innocently.
"All right you blackguards and monsters, surrender yourselves and send us back home and you will not be harmed" said Daring.
"Ooh, you've got some guts normie, but if you think you can invite us here just bully us without a fight then, you got another thing coming" said Clawd as he began to flex his claws.
Before any fists could be thrown, all the students present began to cower down and search for cover as the sounds of gun fire startled them all into submission.
"Sorry for scaring you kids like that, but we just had to get your attention" said Samantha as she began to walk towards the group of students as they all eyed her, and her 7 Generals carrying various high caliber weapons in their hands.
"Now I know you may have a lot of questions as to who you are, who we are, and why are we're all here, so please allow me to explain" began Samantha.
"My name is Samantha Hawkins, I am the youngest daughter and child to Satan to whom I assume you all know, and standing behind me are my 7 Generals and my champion. As of today you are all to attend here, at Mustang Sally High, and learn to coexist with one another, I shall of course be serving as your headmaster so if you have any problems feel free to come into my office. With that being said, everyone else I mentioned behind me shall be your new teachers from now on, and will do their jobs in ensuring you all not only get an education, but behave yourselves, cause trust me, even without guns you don't want to upset them" warned Samantha.
"Now your names along with your first period class is posted at that bulletin board over there to your right, once you get yourselves situated, you'll be handed your school schedules for the rest of the week, and please do hurry, classes start in an hour" said Samantha sweetly.
Once the teaching staff left from sight, many of the students were left scared and confused as to what transpired.
"What the heck was that all about" asked Apple, "I don't know, but honestly I don't like it" said Raven, "Agreed, if we want to survive whatever it is the teachers are planning I think it's better if we all behave ourselves and worked together" said Frankie as she stepped up to break the ice with their new classmates.
"Well we at least got something in common" said Cerise, "Then how's this for thinking like, likeminded minds, I say we make a break for the front gate" said Clawd.
"Normally I'm not one for running away, but I have to agree with you" said Daring, "It's not running away, it's more like a tactical retreat" said Jackson, "Tactical retreat, I like that" said Dexter.
Instantly a small group of students headed towards the gate only to find it not only locked, but also see a circuit of electricity and mounted security cameras.
"Great we're trapped like rats in here" jeered Hunter, "That's it guy, that's it, it's game over man" said Gil disheartedly.
"Great, now what" said Ramona as she punched the gate only to activate the security as pepper scented smoke bombs fell on the students, causing them to flee back to the center of the quad.
"We're stuck in school, with some strangers that clearly irk us, and by a teaching staff that could kill us, what's next they put explosive bombs around our necks" said Clawdeen.
As the students began to murmur amongst themselves, the PA went off for the first time today.
"Attention students, this is your friendly principle to remind you all that class starts in 45 minutes, so please hurry up and get prepared for your classes, and don't be late, I would hate for any of you to get detention on the first day" said Samantha before turning the PA off.
"Ok let's just agree that for now we play along with whatever game the teachers want us to play, cause frankly I don't want to have an unhappy fairytale ending" said Apple.
"Agreed, so let's all go find our classes and hope that we do nothing to upset our teachers" said Frankie as everyone went to prepare for their first day at their new school with even newer classmates.
Thankful she had her friends by her side during her 1st period class, Frankie, Clawdeen, and Draculaura made their way to their new class as they unexpectedly ran into some of their new classmates along the way.
"Um, hey there" greeted Frankie nervously, "Hello um, thanks again for getting your people, er monsters in order back there" said Apple, "We prefer the term ghouls, but none the less appreciate the sentiment".
"Right, so you ghouls have 'Heroes and Legends' study course" asked Raven, "Yeah, we do, though frankly speaking I have no idea what they mean by teaching something with a ridiculous title" said Clawdeen.
"It's not that ridiculous, obviously the teacher of this class must be from our world and is trying to train us the history of our destiny" said Dexter, "If so, that seems to fail in the faculties part of wanting us to work together and being inclusive" said Draculaura.
"We're wasting our time just standing here and talking about, cause trust me I don't want to deal with detention with the principle" said Cerise in a huff as she was the first one to open the door as a pleasant aroma was released.
"I smell pizza" said Clawdeen before the students began to swarm inside their new classroom and were surprise to see that their teacher was cooking himself a fresh extra-large cheese pizza from a wood stone oven.
"Hello students, and welcome to Heroes and Legends study course" said Art with a warm smile.
