I was back at the Chatterjee Clan homestead as I was up and alert helping out with some of the servants in which I had few more vacation days to go before they were up. Last night's affair of getting me to dance was something that hadn't been tried in a long time as I was still having a pep in my step while washing the dishes. By the time I finished up, I left the kitchen as I went towards the dining hall where the sight of uttapam and aloo paratha adorned the table. Even Hrithik was there as he was happy that he was getting breakfast like the rest of us, for he enjoyed the taste of breakfast that was there for the masses.
"It seems that you had a rough day yesterday," he said as he took a bite of his uttapam. "From what I heard, an assassin from the Black Dragon Guild tried to kill you, didn't he?"
"He did, but if Ferdinand haven't desiccated him, I would've ended up dead by now."
"You're not the only one who had to deal with the Black Dragon Guild, Sam. My father, gods and the Matriarch rest his soul, never cared for those people in which he ended up leaving with the rest of us on Cordell Island the moment he couldn't take them stalking him. Like Mom and Dad, I grew up in the Singer House, but I returned here with my sisters, but Abishek never wants to leave Cordell Island."
"Some people adapt to their surroundings. Others cling to familiarities."
I was happy to be in good company as I finished up my breakfast and was ready to leave the dining room. When I went outside for today, I noticed a gathering of people eagerly waiting for a raffle drawing. I was curious as I picked out a raffle as I was seeing the barker in front of the crowd getting ready to announce a winner for a free all-expenses paid trip to the Silver Teapot. I never expected to participate in today's raffle drawing before, but I was hoping for the best with what would go forward today. I was mainly awaiting the answer as the barker was busy calling for the winning ticket, for some of the crowd were looking at their raffles, only to see them to be a bust.
"This is our final ticket," I heard the barker say as he got one out the raffle box. "Ticket number, 091805! Is there the number 091805 present?"
I was looking at my ticket as I saw the numbers that the barker belted out earlier. In a glimpse of luck, I showed the ticket as I was declared the winner of the trip to the Silver Teapot in which I walked towards the barker and was given a platinum brochure for it. I was floored to get this as I never expected to have it until now, for I was more than likely to be having a good day to myself before going back to the villa on Trujillo land. When I left the crowd, I was looking at the platinum brochure as I was looking at the details carefully in which I noticed that I had an obligation to invite a friend, but there was no one who would go with me at this time.
When I took the trolley to the Entertainment District, I was looking for the Silver Teapot as I was ready to show my platinum brochure the moment I got there. By the time I found it, I knew of it to be a spectacle that was similar to what I saw on Tezuka in which I was standing in line with some of the other customers in front of me. I was busy waiting in line as I had to be patient until I became the last one. By the time I showed my brochure, the front receptionist was looking at it as she decided to let me in, for it was the winning ticket after all.
"You now have access to everything in the Silver Teapot," she said as she gave me a bracelet to put on my arm. "Therefore, you should've invited a friend with you… or perhaps a plus one, maybe?"
"Wait! I'll be your plus one!"
I saw Dean sprinting towards me as he didn't want to leave my side right now while I went further inside. Therefore, I didn't want him coming with me as he had his own duties with his unit. When the receptionist placed a bracelet on his arm, he was there to join me as he was also adamant into keeping me safe after what he heard earlier, for my luck was about to go sour against my wishes. When I got into the lobby of the Silver Teapot, I saw the plethora of customers enjoying themselves as I also saw plenty of mascots stemming from Batman to Bugs Bunny dancing all over the place. It was a fanboy's dream as I also noticed several vendors giving out ice cream for the children. Still, I was eager to take a look around as I went towards a gift shop to see most of the merchandise based on the popular Supernatural books. I even looked at the books that were based on the Winchester Gospel in which I also noticed several books from Chronicles of the Order being put on display the moment I noticed some customers picking them out and paying for them. When I purchased a journal, I was paying it with what I had as I left the gift store to the main lobby, only for Dean to catch up with me at the last minute.
"About friggin' time that I caught up to your giant, six-foot-four ass!" he yelled as he was exhausted from running. "At least I came here as your plus one in the end."
"You're supposed to be with your unit!" I yelled.
"After hearing from Reuben about what happened to you yesterday when an assassin from the Black Dragon Guild tried to kill you, there's no way you're going anywhere without backup."
"Isn't Ravenna your priority right now?"
"I would take her, but I won't let her do too much in which she needs bedrest and not harm the baby. As for your own predicament, it's time to suck it up and don't act like a bitch."
"Well, you shouldn't act like a jerk!"
I was adamant into getting away from Dean as I wasn't having it with his duty of being overprotective over me. In the end of it all, I had to be under his umbrella as he wasn't letting me out of his sight, for he was also aware of what was going on so far…
Ferdinand was in Chuck's home as he was noticing it to be clean, but partially empty as he was busy looking for his Brother. What he didn't expect was that he was hearing some loud giggling upstairs as he also found a trail of clothing ranging from Chuck's clothes to some women's lingerie. By the time he got up there, he ended up opening up the door as he saw Chuck in bed as He was naked while covering up with the blankets he had. It was one huge embarrassment after another as Ferdinand noticed someone else with Chuck as he knew of her too well, for she was someone familiar in the slightest.
"It's a little rude to walk on people while playing around, especially when it cuts to yer free time," she said as she covered herself up. "Ye never changed even after ye lost interest in blocking out the sun in the Elder Days, do ye, Ferdinand?"
"Rowena…" he said. "I might've known that you got a little frisky with my Brother while I was busy tracking down and desiccating members of all kinds trying to attack Sam."
"Could you please leave the room while we get dressed?!" cried Chuck as He was feeling embarrassed. "It's rude that you intrude on My naughty time in which you've gotten bolder in keeping Me in line!"
"I bet that You either didn't use protection or You decided to poke a hole in Your rubbers…"
"Out!"
Ferdinand left the room as he closed the door behind him. Even though he was waiting patiently for Chuck and Rowena to get dressed, he went downstairs to the living room as he noticed the snowglobe on the coffee table. He was concerned about the looming threat of an eternal winter gripping Alecrast as he had a gut feeling that House Arkhelios would pull a dick move and ignore the omens that have been popping up in the form of cold spots. When he saw Chuck and Rowena coming downstairs, they sat down on the couch as they were more than likely to be having a problem with what the Four Stewards were doing, for this was something that couldn't be ignored.
"Okay, lovebirds, we've got a problem on our hands," he said as he was picking up the snowglobe from the coffee table. "Iago still throws his temper tantrums and Desdemona goes full-on Karen mode all 'cause the resistance that Shigeru is leading ends up sabotaging House Maitland's storehouses after all those times they were hoarding their choice morsels."
"At least he's putting the kibosh on the Four Stewards after they ignored countless warnings about the omens of Alecrast freezing over," said Chuck.
"For the record, Iago was the one who had his other friends in the other Steward Houses sign a death warrant to find and kill Sam. That was when Phyllis took it away in which she also demanded that Sylvanus keep him safe along with Dean during their years at the fort on Gehenna."
"It's a shame that they didn't target Dean, who's poised to be Emperor of Alecrast," said Rowena.
"Well, his past self wore me like the usual tramp stamp I was, but he's not alone when it comes to the omen of two silver dragons aiding the Alecrian Emperor to topple the Four Steward Houses once and for all."
"And there's no getting 'round it, is there? Even after the war ended, there's one battle after another, but we all know that Samuel will step in and protect the future Alecrian Emperor, for it's better than everything freezing over."
Everyone looked at the snowglobe as the omen with the two silver dragons was glowing with a bright aura the moment it became intense. This was something that couldn't be ignored as this was a warning of what was yet to come, for the time of the Four Stewards was slowly coming to a karmic end in the long run…
I was in the amusement park section as I was looking at the Sky Wheel that was mainly the highlight of the Silver Teapot. Even with the other rides such as the Tilt-a-Whirl, the carousel, and the Gravitron being attractions, I was eager to get on board with them in which I also noticed a section known as the Casa Bonita Experience being out there due to it being a water park with a place to go cliff diving in. For the record, I wasn't into doing that right now as I was more than likely to be taking a ride on the carousel until Dean caught up to me. He wasn't about to let me get away that easily as he was eager to go with me on some of the rides that were there, for he was adamant into keeping me safe.
"There's no way in hell that you're going alone, Sammy," he said to me.
"I'm looking forward to riding the carousel," I said.
"Seriously, the friggin' carousel? That ride's weaker than cat piss. You should go up past the little league and hit the big guns. That's where the fun's at, isn't it?"
"We can take the Gravitron if you want."
"Okay, let's play rock-paper-scissors for it to see what ride we get. If you win, then we'll go on the Gravitron. If we lose, then it's the Sky Wheel. Well, Sam, you game?"
We decided to play rock-paper-scissors as I stuck with playing scissors. When Dean decided to play rock, he ended up blunting my scissors as I had no choice but to take the Sky Wheel with him. Still, I was under supervision as I followed Dean to where the Sky Wheel was. When we got in line, we were the first ones to get on as we were in one of the circular capsules that looked like a cross between a cable car and a seat from the Tilt-a-Whirl. It was when we were riding upward as we saw everything in the distance while we saw the entire view of Chithravai in the afternoon. We were having a good time up there until the ride ended up getting stuck in midair, for this day went from bad to worse for me.
"Son-of-a-bitch!" yelled Dean as he was disappointed that the ride ended up getting stuck.
"It's not our day, is it?" I said as I remained calm.
"I should've listened to you…"
"It's too late for that, but we all had our good and bad days."
I noticed Dean shaking with fear as he didn't want to be stuck on a carnival ride. I had to comfort him as I also had to wait patiently for the ride to get moving again the moment we got off of it. Still, I sat down beside Dean as he was worried about what was yet to come in which we had to tough it out, for this was something that didn't go to plan for today. With the maintenance crew on call to fix the Sky Wheel, I had to wait patiently as I began to write in my new journal just to pass the time until the ride came down. Even Dean was worried as he didn't want to be stuck with me for a while, for this was something that we haven't gotten used to in a long time…
Guido was in the Silver Teapot as he used his savings to get in, but not without having a date to go with him in. That was when Casey was there as she was dressed in her blue dress with her hair done up with a hairpin. She never saw the Silver Teapot before as she was also astonished to see a lot of people having a good time the moment she followed Guido to the amusement park section. Both of them saw the rides that were on display as they later got onto the carousel, for they were wanting to go for a ride on it.
"I've n-n-never b-b-been on this ride b-b-before…," said Casey as she was riding on one of the horses on the pole. "This is f-f-fun… It's something that I n-n-never d-d-did b-b-before until n-n-now…"
"I've rode on this since I was a kid growing up after I left for Lannister," said Guido as he was riding on an alicorn on a pole. "After my mom got us away from that prick of a father, I started to adapt to fun instead of the trauma in which I loved riding on the carousel."
"I s-s-see…"
"After this, we should check up on the Sky Wheel. It's one of the best rides here in the Silver Teapot."
Both Guido and Casey continued to ride in the carousel until it stopped in which they got off and went towards the Sky Wheel. What they didn't expect was that something had sabotaged the ride as they were at a loss in which they noticed several people complaining about not getting onto the ride. Still, Guido had to move onto another ride until he noticed something crawling on the Sky Wheel the moment he spotted it carefully. He never saw anything like it before as he had to do his part in his role as a member of the Order the moment he brought out the hunter tools that were there with him. Just as he was about to do so, he saw me in one of the compartments on the Sky Wheel as he had a gut feeling that the monster would cause harm not only to me and Dean, but the other riders who were on the ride as well.
"W-what's g-g-going on?" asked Casey.
"I don't know what it is, but it definitely isn't the type that can't be fed after midnight," said Guido as he looked at the monster on the Sky Wheel. "According to the Appendices I've been reading, there's a gremlin that has a knack for sabotaging mechanical things from airplanes to automobiles in the lore. I don't know what weaknesses they have, but I can't let that crafty little shitbird cause damage to a good ride like the Sky Wheel."
Guido had no other choice but to confront the gremlin that was on the Sky Wheel as he had no other choice but to get up there and climb upward. Even though he had no hunter training, he was mainly trained to be a cop as he also had his duty to serve and protect in order to stop the gremlin from dismantling the Sky Wheel further. When he saw a ladder, he climbed upward to the maintenance area as he had to climb up on the base of the Sky Wheel where he saw the gremlin jamming it. The small monster looked similar to an imp as it had yellow ears with blue on its head the moment Guido saw it directly. He had to get it away from the Sky Wheel as he climbed closer to gremlin, for it was ready to get away once it was done jamming the ride.
"Okay, shitbird, that's far enough," he said as he got out an angel blade. "I don't know what kills you, but you're not gunking up the Sky Wheel!"
The gremlin screeched loudly as it was running towards Guido the moment he was barely holding onto the Sky Wheel. He was determined to get rid of it as he was eager to stab it once it messes up and gets stuck. When he saw it hiding in the crevice, he got out his flashlight as he turned it on the moment he saw the gremlin screeching loudly in which there was a weakness it had. It was weak against bright lights as it was trying to get away until it was pierced by an arrow that had phosphorous on it. Guido looked down as he noticed Damien arriving the moment he had his bow and arrow in his hands, for he was there to bring down the gremlin before it did any more damage.
"Not today, Gizmo!" he yelled as he saw the gremlin falling down to its demise.
Guido climbed down as he made it to where the maintenance area was. Climbing down the ladder, he was ready to reunite with Casey as he saw her running towards him the moment he safely got on the ground. Even though he flushed out the gremlin, he had to let the others take out the rest as he saw Damien pick up the evidence of its carcass in a container in which it died not only from a fall, but from crumbling from being struck with a phosphorous arrow. Even though the threat was averted, he had to resume his date with Casey as he would soon take her to either the Gravitron or the Tilt-a-Whirl, only to be stopped for questioning, for he was in the hot seat after climbing on the Sky Wheel earlier.
"Look, I don't wanna be a bother, but would you kindly let me enjoy my date for once?" he said.
"You took a big risk in flushing out that gremlin," said Damien.
"I only had a flashlight and not your fancy monster-killing weapons in which the damn critter up screamed bloody murder before you took it out."
"Gremlins are weak against ultraviolet light in which they operate when it's in the dusking hours until evening. They're also weak against phosphorous in which it kills them instantly. You took a bold risk in flushing it out or else it would've dismantled the Sky Wheel entirely. Your little stunt may have been petty, but you saved lives along the way."
Guido noticed the maintenance team rushing towards the Sky Wheel as they had to go and repair the damage that the gremlin had done to it. Still, he was glad to help as he was simply doing his job to serve and protect. Even though he was no longer a cop, he had an obligation to help people as he was also aware of the further things he had seen. At that moment, he spotted me and Dean in the Sky Wheel as he never expected us to be in here, for this was an awkward milestone for us in the long run…
Dean was trying to keep it together as he was trapped in the Sky Wheel with me. Even though he had gone on hunting missions while traversing the galaxy on many ships, he was never prepared for what was happening as I was trying to keep him grounded and not fly off the handle. Still, I had to be patient as I also had to make sure that nothing bad was happening in which I later heard the sound of someone climbing on the Sky Wheel to the point of a monster screaming from outside. I also heard a shot of an arrow coming as I rushed to the window and noticed a monstrous saboteur falling off the Sky Wheel the moment I saw Guido climbing down from it, for I had a bad feeling that something wasn't right from outside.
"What the hell's happening, Sam?" asked Dean as he was still shaking from being trapped.
"It seems that we had a monster saboteur that gunked up the Sky Wheel," I said.
"Is that all?"
"It also seems that it met its end in which I also know who up and killed it."
"Damien… He must've gotten a hunting job to pass the time in which he knows how to kill the damn thing that jammed this hunk of junk."
I sensed Dean feeling more scared than normal as I had to keep him grounded once the Sky Wheel is repaired. For a while, I was the one who was scared as I had to be the one to step up and comfort my older brother before he had a panic attack, for he wasn't used to being trapped in midair, especially with carnival rides.
"This wasn't what we had in mind," I heard Dean say to me.
"Sometimes, you have to face your fear in order to overcome it," I said.
"Easy for you to say…"
"Our past selves have also dealt with personal conflicts in which yours also had a fear of flying. We've been through worse in which we can't let our fears define us. It's what we're made for in which we have the strength and means to move forward and not be held back. It's what I went through over the years in which I had to suck it up and bear what got thrown in front of me. I also know of this because I even wanted you to be more than just my older brother, but a soldier who would go above and beyond to protect those in need."
"It's not the fear of flying that I'm afraid of, Sam. It's the weight of being the Emperor of Alecrast that scares me. I never signed onto this crap, okay? I have a knack for being a hunter, but being a ruler of our homeworld? We all know that no one acknowledges our family being of royal blood, for all that crap has gone down the toilet since the Four Stewards took power."
"Shigeru acknowledges our existence as being of royal blood. He's also fighting tooth and nail to stop House Arkhelios and the other Steward Houses from putting a stranglehold on our people. As for the looming threat of the eternal winter, we can't let it consume our homeworld, no matter what it takes. We had our fair share of battles, failures, and mistakes, but we can't let all the bad things define us, for we all have the strength and means to move forward."
I was putting my foot down as I didn't want Dean to fall further into despair. I couldn't let him fall under the cracks as he had so many responsibilities to handle. He had his family, his unit, my safety, and now a primal duty as a future Emperor of our homeworld. Still, he had to suck it up and be ready for the next wave of what got thrown at him, for I also had to help him navigate what was there.
"I… can't do this, Sam…," he said as he broke down in tears. "I can't be this all-out action star saving the day without saving my own problems first…"
"I know…," I said. "You're not alone in this, Dean. Remember when we found that graverobber trying to steal the obsidian grave posts near Kripke Shrine and you took an arrow? I thought I lost you in which I didn't want you to leave me all alone. That was when I used my raw power to save you in which you're thriving today. All I'm doing is navigating everything on survival mode while making sure that you and everyone we care about is safe from harm."
"No…, you've been on survival mode all your life and for what? I get the message that you have a selfless way of keeping us afloat, but what about your own needs? For years, you took the heat from Sylvanus just to protect me in which I was also wanting to defend you. For years, we've been hearing from everyone that men must be stoic and not show any emotions, but deep down, we're cracking under the pressure of conforming. 'Don't show any emotions,' they say. 'Being emotional makes a man weak,' they say. 'A real man must be stoic and never talks about his feelings,' they say. All of that crap about being a real man and taught about masculinity the wrong way is nothing but a lie! Women aren't the only ones that end up being gaslit to submission. We also suffer this way as well…"
"Take a breath…, don't overpace yourself, and allow yourself to vent. As for your role in being the Alecrian Emperor, you'll make a good one because of the fact that you went through your fair share of hurdles just as much as I did. You can't fade away that easily because our past selves would be devastated to see that."
Dean was moved by my words as he wiped the tears from his face. He wasn't alone in this debacle as he had to resolve a little more when it came to the safety of his family and his unit in the Hunter Corps. Just as we were about to spend a little more time in the capsule on the Sky Wheel, we noticed it moving as it was going downward the moment it was fixed. It was a relief that we didn't get trapped in the Sky Wheel forever as we got out of there the moment we noticed Damien standing in front of us when he knelt. It was a miracle that we were saved from further embarrassment as we were out of the predicament we were in, for we had a reason to make a mountain out of a molehill from this situation we were in.
"Thank the Elder Yavanna and the Matriarch that you're safe, My Lord," he said as he got up.
"You took your sweet time coming here," said Dean.
"There was a gremlin in the Sky Wheel, Captain. Thankfully, our new recruit flushed it out or else you would've lost your life just now."
We saw Guido standing there as he had Casey in tow. Even though they were on a date, this situation wasn't a romantic one as he had to get her home, only to be stopped by Damien in which he wasn't about to let him leave quietly. Even though he climbed up the Sky Wheel to flush out the gremlin, he had a long way to go before he became a part of the unit of his choice. Still, he had to report in like the rest of us as he had a gut feeling that he would end up getting reprimanded for his conduct by climbing on the Sky Wheel earlier, for he was no stranger to protocol whatsoever.
"Sorry for the mess," he said.
"That's not for climbing up the Sky Wheel," said Damien. "You spotted a gremlin in which one of them is known for sabotaging mechanical equipment. There's no need to apologize. As for your place in the Order, Akio has recommended you to be part of the Garrison Corps due to your training as a police officer."
"At least you did your job," said Dean.
"I was trained to serve and protect and not abuse my authority in which my superior told me not to steep in seedy corruption in the future and not let my past define me."
"I'm still new at finding monsters in which I don't qualify for being a hunter."
"You're more than just qualified, Guido," I said. "You tracked down a gremlin just now in which you not only saved me and Dean, but the others who have been stuck on the Sky Wheel."
"You're also a Cetra in which you helped to flush out that gremlin," said Dean. "You have a lot of Trelundar blood in your veins more than just the blood of the bastard who sired you."
"I've been pretty much of a mama's boy, but she also put me in line after we left for Lannister," said Guido. "Still, I have to be shown the ropes before doing more monster hunting in the future."
We were saved from further death as we saw the hero of the hour leaving with Casey to go on a different ride. As for me and Dean, however, we were safe as we stared at the Sky Wheel in which we had to be cautious before going another carnival ride, for it was a reminder of our conversation that we talked about…
Shigeru was in his room at his hideout as he was looking at the newspapers in which he was looking at the headlines about the Four Stewards Houses. He was also exhausted from helping the resistance take back territory that House Maitland had in which everyone was entitled to return to their old homes in the end. When he looked another newspaper written in Sanskrit, he deciphered it as he saw me and Dean on the front page in which he noticed the words, "Gremlin Found in the Silver Teapot," in bold letters scrawled on it. He was glad that I was there as he also didn't want the Four Steward Houses to pounce on me, especially when it came to dealing with their vendetta against me.
"You definitely made the front page, Sammy," he said to himself as he put the newspaper down.
"You look as if you won the lottery just now," said Shotaro as he entered into the room.
"The Chithravai Standard just published this headline about what happened at the Silver Teapot in which a gremlin was there tampering with the Sky Wheel."
"According to the lore in Gramps' books, gremlins were known in the twentieth century to sabotage planes and cars until they were left into hiding. The last sighting of gremlins came back in 1997 when they raided a car dealership in Memphis in which they were killed by phosphorous. The one who did it happen to be none other than the John Winchester of Old back in the day, but gremlins are fickle creatures in which some of them became a headache on Valinor."
"At least they're not the ones we feed after midnight, but seeing one sabotaging the Sky Wheel at the Silver Teapot? They could've haunted the Casa Bonita section and took all the sopapillas they can eat."
Shigeru was glad to see some good news instead of the typical doom and gloom as he was aware of what was going on. Still, he had to tread quietly as he couldn't let the Four Steward Houses get their way again. He was also wanting to see Dean ascend to the throne as he was also getting fed up with the constant nightmare that House Arkhelios represented. When he looked out the window of his hideout, he saw a group of retainers from House Maitland coming onto the dirt road. They were mainly looking for him as they refused to back down until they found him. When the leader got off of his horse, he was looking for footprints as he was also discouraged the moment he saw the fresh snow falling onto the ground. He had to find Shigeru as he also didn't want to face the wrath of Iago and Desdemona once he got back to Isildur, for he was dreading it while trying to search for his target.
"I know that petty High Elf is here," he said.
"We've been looking everywhere for days," said a soldier as she was searching for possible clues.
"Shigeru Mitani is a wanted man and must be caught before Iago has my head. We have our asses on the line in which we also have to tread around Desdemona as if we're walking on landmines. We serve House Maitland and we can't act like a defeatist like Cyril, who has besmirched the memory of his father and brother by clinging to the falsehoods that those crackpot oracles have spewed out."
It wasn't long until the group of Maitland retainers saw a band of Alecrian Army officers riding on their horses as they rushed into battle to fight against them. Shigeru watched on the sidelines as he also had to aid them the moment he hid in the shadows. The battle between the Alecrian Army and the Maitland retainers intensified as the leader was crushing some of the resistance with his spiked club. It wasn't long until Shigeru had to stand in front as he had to defend the rest of the resistance, for he refused to go down quietly.
"You got me here, but I suggest that you take your battle elsewhere," he said.
"Shigeru Mitani," said the leader as he was holding his club. "You don't have the ways and means to kill us other than to die like the proverbial lapdog of that Domina in the Kingdom by the River!"
"You leave Futaba out of this!" Shigeru displays his angelic aura as he wasn't about to let the group of retainers get their way. "Still, you Stewards are all bark and no bite! And yet, your Grand Pooh-Bah that governs you shitbirds has the gall to jack off to kiddie porn, especially when he obsesses over having his cronies wanting to molest my little girl!" He refused to back down as he wasn't about to go down without a fight. "Now, if you don't mind, go away and tell your overlords that this land belongs to the Winchesters and those who fight to bring them back to power!"
The leader of the retainers felt his eyes melting out of his skull as he ended up dead while kneeling the moment the others fled on their horses. Shigeru wasn't about to let them get away so easily as he later saw some of the mountain Orcs up on the tops tossing some boulders to topple them the moment they tried to get away. Even though they have been at odds with everyone on this planet, they had a cause to fight for as Shigeru was blessed to see them there in which he saw the leader getting off his warg to savor this battle.
"The gods see favor for all of us," he said.
"And they say that the enemy of your enemy is my friend," said Shigeru as he returned to normal.
"House Arkhelios is the main lynchpin of the Stewards and they refuse to share power. Even after the Orc Wars, the battles against the Army of Cain and the Elect, and the First and Second Galvanic Uprisings, nothing has propelled us to face off the ones who ousted the Alecrian royal family from power, only to have their years of peace and quiet reaping what they have sown once the oracles foretold of an eternal winter."
"And look where it got us…"
Shigeru looked at the fresh snow falling on the ground as he was also fighting for the freedom for those who were longing to restore the Alecrian royal family back to power. Still, his fight wasn't over yet as he also had to hide in the shadows when it came to putting a damper on the Four Stewards' power trip, for he also had to tread quietly in this battle ahead…
Dean and I were in the Casa Bonita section of the Silver Teapot as we were enjoying our food that consisted of the Mexican food that was served among the Indian cornucopia that existed here on Chatterjee Land. I was happy to taste some of the tacos al pastor as they were flavored nicely on the small tortillas that were made from scratch. As for Dean, however, he was busy chowing down on a gordita that was simply a taco that used naan bread instead of the usual tortilla in which it was flavorful with every bite. By the time we finished up our food, we paid for our meals as we were also seeing everyone going to the water park the moment we decided to pay a visit to it. With our clothes off and into the typical swim trunks in the men's locker room, we showered first as were out in the open the moment we had to try out the cliff diving. When we got to the top of the makeshift cliff, we jumped into the water as it was deep enough to fit a sailboat in. I was having the time of my life as I noticed Dean swimming up to the surface in which he later noticed that I was still underwater.
When he dove under again, he saw me in my water form as I was mainly looking at the structure that was made all over the Silver Teapot. I was also admiring everything as I was seeing the water upward until I saw Dean go back up to the surface the moment he swam back to the shore. Still, I was glad to have my fun as I also surfaced upward, only to see Guido standing there the moment he was holding a pair of swim trunks in his hands. Even though I was in my aquatic form, I was embarrassed as I wanted to get my trunks back, for I also had to return back to the Chatterjee Clan homestead later on.
"Look what I've got," he said.
"I need those," I said.
"Can't you use your hair to cover yourself with instead of streaking?"
I got out of the pool as I returned to normal while using my hair to cover myself and later taking my swim trunks out of Guido's hands. When I went towards the locker room, I reached the shower area as I rinsed myself off the moment I saw Dean do the same while he took off his own swim trunks. Both of us were ready to return as we later noticed Damien standing in front of us, for he was eager to fill us in on the doom and gloom that was going on under our noses so far.
"There's been a shake-up on Alecrast," he said.
"It's about Shigeru kicking ass and taking names again, isn't it?" said Dean as he wrapped himself in a towel. "He's been on a roll lately, but I hope that he puts the kibosh on the ass-clowns who still cling to power on our homeworld."
"From what was heard by Ginryu, House Maitland has lost their hold on power after having their storehouses raided and some of their retainers killed. The lone survivor, Cyril, has conceded defeat in which he was aware of the omens that have occurred all over Alecrast."
"Just because House Maitland has conceded defeat doesn't mean that the rest of the Stewards have the gall to surrender," I said as I wrapped myself in a towel. "Still, the looming threat of the eternal winter can't be taken lightly."
"We know that Iago has been making threats to search for Shigeru in which he's been looking for him in Akatsuki, Gale Canyon, and Wall Keep, but to no avail. Your friend is crafty, but he's more like the past self of the future Alecrian Emperor, but with eating cake instead of pie."
Dean was feeling the pressure of returning back to our homeworld as he had to step up a little more for everyone there. I also had faith in him as I followed him to the lockers where our stuff was. By the time we got to our clothes, we noticed that they were gone except for my brochure and journal, only to find some robes for us to put on. When we noticed our clothes being wheeled away to the laundry room with our towels, we spotted Casey going there as she was putting them into one of the washers in which she didn't want us having dirty clothes, for she was trying her best to fit in.
"Your c-c-c-lothes are in t-t-the w-w-washer," she said to us.
It wasn't long until Guido was in there with us as he also had his clothes removed earlier while he was dressed in robes. Still, he was mainly fitting in like everyone else as he was also the man of the hour the moment he was eager to do more than just surrender to his trauma, for he had to flush out that gremlin just for Damien to finish it off.
"Don't ask, but she took my clothes and forced me to take a shower," he said.
"At least she cares about you," said Dean.
"And I not only care about her, but everyone who has to face a few creepy-crawlies that come without warning. This isn't my first rodeo with them after what I saw with those freaks who wanted to eat Casey."
"Leviathans are smart, but cautious," said Damien as he entered into the laundry room. "As for the other monsters that come and go, the most common ones are vampires who often frequent abandoned farmhouses. Werewolves often let their stomachs get the better of them when it comes to ripping the hearts out of their prey. As for the others we have to see them carefully and know their weaknesses, for that is how it works when it comes to what was written in front of us."
"Saving people, hunting things, and upholding the family business," said Dean. "That's what we're made for, right? If I'm meant to be Emperor, then so be it. If my past self can survive the worst whether in Hell or Purgatory, I can pull it off 'cause I'm not letting Shigeru do this alone. He started this fight and we'll do our damnedest to finish it."
"And we'll do it," I said. "The Four Steward Houses may hold the keys the power in the form of peace, but their inability to govern has been growing." I look at Dean as I didn't want him to lose focus. "You got this, for we're with you till the bitter end…"
I was more than likely to be supporting the effort as I was eager to bring my brother back home to ascend to the throne. Still, everything had to start slowly as we would soon join in on the fight, for this was the further beginning of our woes in the future…
To be continued...
