Masumi watched as Ran placed a bandage on Conan's injury on his arm. They'd (Her, Sonoko, Ran, and Conan) had been walking around after they were done with their schools, chatting about Kudou Yusaku and his novels, before they decided to solve his cold case.

Masumi had explained the case and what happened, especially when they found out a coin covered with blood, but the three criminals then had arrived and aimed to kill the group.

Masumi cockily challenged them and broke one's nose and teeth, while Ran slammed her foot into the back of the other's neck. But the third had caught Sonoko and was threatening her with a knife, but Conan kicked a soccer ball in his face, saving her, the impact of his hard kick made him fall on his arm and have a small bruise.

Masumi stared at how Ran and Conan smiled at each other, reminded of her crush on Kudou Shinichi, but she already knew from Sonoko that Shinichi had confessed to Ran and he was waiting for Ran's response, but anyone can tell that she liked him too.

And Masumi, being a good friend, at least until the girls knew she was using them for the sake of the antidote, stepped on her childhood crush, and swore to not approach Shinichi.

But she still found herself smiling when Shinichi was mentioned or when she saw him in action and that made her feel guilty and disgusted with herself.

She smiled sadly as she teared up, 'I'm really a bad kid, aren't I?'.

And she walked away, not announcing her departure to the three, knowing that her friendship with them was limited, for who would want to continue being friends with someone who had used them for their own goal?

It was better for her if she did not get attached to the girls, and of course, forget about Shinichi.

Masumi sat in her room, staring at the photo Mitsuhiko had caught for their savior. For he and the other kids were trapped during a case while camping in a cabin that was set on fire, but the boy managed to capture an image to their female savior.

The image wasn't visible enough from since it was during nighttime, but Masumi did manage to see the girl's facial features, and found it suspicious how it was the same as Haibara's face.

'Could they be the same person like Kudou?', She wondered.

Bourbon glanced around, making sure no one was around for the hundredth time. He had sneaked into the Mouri Defective Agency while Conan, Kogoro, and Ran were asleep, and opened Kogoro's Laptop.

He searched through the files until he found the same image Masumi was looking at, the image of Shiho Miyano right before she saved the detective boys.

His eyes narrowed, 'Sherry.'.

He then noticed the mystery train ring on her finger and he smirked, 'So you'll be there too huh?'.

He placed a usb inside the laptop and took a copy from the photo as he thought, 'I'm sorry Miyano-Sensei, but I have to sacrifice your daughter for the greater good, especially since she became one of them...'.

"So, what will you be doing now?", Subaru asked, talking to someone on the phone with an earbud placed in his right ear, while staring calmly at the picture of Haibara across him on his laptop screen.

"Not much, really. I'll just be hanging around with Sonoko and Ran, but Amuro-san suggested we meet up tomorrow, and he did mention he'll be on the train too", Masumi replied.

Subaru frowned as he glanced at the black train ring on Haibara's finger, the one he has too to board the train, before he deleted the image, after taking a copy from it on a flash.

"Be careful Masumi, I don't like that man.", Subaru warned as he closed the laptop screen.

"Don't worry, Subaru. Anything fishy I smell from that guy and he'll receive a finger jab right into his eyes!". Subaru chuckled a bit at Masumi's attitude.

"Alright, just be careful, I'll see you on the train.", Subaru said before Masumi ended the call.

He rubbed the back of his neck with a sigh, 'What are you planning exactly, Furuya Rei?'.

The Next Day,

Amuro snorted, "So your first time meeting the girls and Conan was Sonoko thinking you're a pervert who groped her?".

"Yeah, way to make an entrance.", Masumi commented dryly before she said sadly, "That case that happened when you recently arrived to Beika is very heartbreaking, I feel depressed whenever I remember it.".

Amuro let out a heavy sigh, "Yeah... the husband... or the brother now, has been in a mental facility since then.".

Both became silent as they walked side by side until they entered a small coffee shop, and they sat on a table near the door, across from each other.

"So, Amuro-san, what's this friendship all about?", Masumi asked calmly.

Amuro blinked in surprise at her question, "What do you mean?".

"I don't know, don't you think it's weird how you want us to be friends just because we are both detectives?", Masumi asked, eyeing Amuro's facial expression and body language carefully.

"Don't people become friends when they find out they have something in common?", Amuro countered with a smile, "Besides, Azusa-san said that I should start making some friends since I don't have anyone in my life.".

Masumi blinked before she shrugged, "Fair enough, you do have a point.", she then smiled, "One can never say no to friendship with a fellow detective.".

"My point exactly.", Amuro smiled.

He was about to say something else until they heard a woman screaming. Amuro turned around as Masumi looked behind them, and their eyes widened once they saw a middle-aged man clutching his throat on the ground, which was swelling, while scratching at his face were a rash was present, with the waiter, the woman, and the other man sitting next to him staring down at him in horror.

Masumi and Amuro left their seats and rushed towards the man as both chorused, "Call an ambulance and the police!".

They glanced at each other at the coincidence before both attempted to check for the man's pulse, and they glanced at each other again at the coincidence.

Amuro pulled his hand away as he turned to the man, woman, and the waiter and said sternly, "None of you move.".

Masumi checked for pulse and sighed heavily, "He's dead.".

The woman instantly burst crying while the man kept mumbling that he could not believe it, while the waiter stared in horror at the man.

"You three are now suspects.", Amuro said as Masumi stood up.

"For this murder.", Masumi continued.

The two glanced at each other again for how they finished each others' sentences but said nothing.

"I just can't take a break now, can I?", Megure sighed heavily as he turned to Sato and Takagi, "What do we currently have?".

"The victim is Asato Hiroshi, a 40-year-old man working as a professor in Tohto University.", Takagi said as he looked at the black-haired man's dead body.

"The suspects of the murder are the waiter; 23-year-old Seiji Kento,", Sato said as she glanced at the long brown-haired with black eyes waiter, "The victim's wife; 35-year-old housewife Asato Keiko.", Megure then glanced at the crying black haired with blue eyes woman, "And their friend; fellow professor 37-year-old Kageno Matsuno.", Takagi then glanced at the final suspect; the bald man with blue eyes.

"The man seemed to have died from anaphylaxis after drinking his coffee.", Masumi stated, announcing her and Amuro's presence to the police officers that had just arrived.

"The ambulance arrived late so we could not save him with an EpiPen, and there was no pharmacy nearby either.", Amuro continued.

"Excuse me, who are you?", Sato blinked, being reminded of when Conan would butt into a case.

"Sera Masumi/Amuro Tooru, Detective.", The two chorused before they looked at each other.

"This is the second time.", Amuro said cheekily.

"Coincidence.", Masumi rolled her eyes.

"Everywhere I go, there has to be some sort of Detectives.", Megure rubbed his forehead in annoyance.

Masumi picked up a tissue as she and Amuro knelt down near the cup that was next to the body.

"The culprit can't be the waiter, for how else would have he had none?", Amuro said, "And after questioning the three, he did say he had never even seen them before.".

"So, the theory that he may have killed the man for his bad grades is out of the window, especially since he graduated from another university.", Masumi commented dryly as she picked up the cup, "He wouldn't have ordered coffee if he has an allergy from it.".

Masumi smelt the cup and narrowed her eyes, "It smells a bit... like nuts were placed in it.".

Amuro grabbed her hand and moved it to bring the cup closer to him to smell it, "Seems like almond milk was in it.".

Keiko looked up at them and said, "Asato is allergic to almond and anything that has almond, including almond milk.".

"He also ordered his coffee with normal milk.", Kageno pointed out.

The eyes automatically looked a Seiji who cried in horror, "No, it wasn't me! I swear!".

"It wasn't enough that you spilled mu coffee over my pants!", Keiko cried at the waiter.

"Someone tripped me, I swear!", Seiji cried in his defense.

"Well, everything is pointing at you, so far.", Megure pointed out.

"Say, Kageno-san, you drink coffee with almond milk don't you?", Amuro asked, bringing the attention on him.

Seiji instantly cried, "Yes! The man ordered coffee with almond milk while the woman ordered with soy milk, and the victim ordered with normal milk!".

"So, let's just say you tripped the waiter while he placed the cup for the wife, she gets angry and leaves to clean her pants while the husband stands up to argue with him, and when he gives you his back, you switch your cup with his.", Masumi deduced.

"So, the wife is safe from accusation, and it will look like the waiter had done something for revenge since from what Seiji-san said early on, Asato-san was very rude, so he had a reason for revenge.", Amuro continued the deduction.

"Are you kidding me?! What kind of stupid deduction is that?! Do you even have evidence?!", Kageno cried in disbelief.

"Keiko-san said that Asato-san doesn't drink his coffee instantly nor touch it, until 5 minutes later... So, his cup must have only the waiter's fingerprints, while yours should have yours and the waiter.", Amuro pointed out before he smirked, "So, are you sure your fingerprints aren't on the normal coffee's cup while Asato's and yours are on the almond one?".

Masumi used a tissue to pick up the cup on the table and smell it as she said, "Smells like normal coffee to me.".

Kageno looked back and forth between the two before he sighed heavily, "It wasn't enough that he married the woman I had a crush on... but he had the audacity to brag in front of me about cheating on her...".

"W-What? That's impossible!", Keiko gasped in disbelief.

"He filmed himself while cheating, you can find it in his phone...", Kageno clenched his fists, "I knew he didn't deserve you but for him to go so low... I decided to kill him and marry you later on, but I needed a scapegoat for the greater good, so I did trip the waiter, and I knew he'll be the number one suspect.".

Amuro said nothing while Masumi rubbed the bridge of her nose before she said angrily, "So instead of the exposing the husband to the wife and becoming the true hero and getting your fairytale fantasy, you end up becoming worse than him by killing him and framing an innocent man for it!".

"It was for the greater good!", Kageno argued.

"Don't lie to yourself! Your jealousy and anger all combined and you decided that killing him and framing someone else is the only choice! You think you're a hero, for getting rid of a cheating bastard husband, but in reality, you're a villain too!", Masumi cried harshly, surprising Amuro at her tone.

Kageno stared at her in disbelief, before he realized the extent of what he had done and he started crying silently, as the police handcuffed him.

Masumi stared at him coldly as she mumbled in British English, "Case Closed.".

~•~•~•~

"You were very angry back then.", Amuro said once they left the shop.

"I hate lying... I have issues with it and I hate when I have to do so, and the fact that the guy committed murder and almost had an innocent man prisoned for his so called greater good is even more awful.", Masumi explained.

Amuro remained silent for a few seconds before he asked, "What if the situation is different? What if someone had to sacrifice someone to achieve something greater, especially if that someone is evil?".

Masumi remained silent for a few seconds before she asked and explained, "Is he even sure that person is evil? Some people may look evil from their situation or have done something, but when you know the full story, it's another thing entirely. If you sacrificed them early on without knowing the story, when it turns out that they have been good, you'll be hurt.".

She missed how Amuro looked at her in surprise before his facial expression changed to admiration and interest.

"You're very mature for someone your age, Sera-san.", Amuro said impressed.

"You do realize you're making yourself sound old?", Masumi snickered a bit, making him chuckle.

"So, where do you want us to go now? I think we should just continue walking, for I'm afraid another murder will be committed if we go somewhere.", Amuro suggested with a smile.

"Yeah, you're absolutely correct!", Masumi laughed a bit at his words.

'Who would've thought that you would be a very interesting person, Sera?', Amuro thought, glancing often at Masumi whenever they became silent during their conversations.
