"Okay, why are we here today? I thought we weren't training today." Artemis asked Oliver, since after Sara's wedding, Oliver had begun both hers and Thea's training and they'd both shown great promise, especially since Helena had been pitching in with Thea's training, allowing Oliver to focus on Artemis's training, and she was showing great skill, since due to her natural athleticism, Artemis had managed to get a handle on her skills with a bow.
"Two reasons. The first one is that I think that you're ready for this." Oliver said as he handed her a case.
"What's this?" Artemis asked.
"Gift from our friends in Gotham City and upgraded by our friends in National City. Open it." Oliver said and Artemis nodded as she set the case down on the table and pressed her thumbs on the scanners on either side of the case and when they turned green, the case unlocked to reveal a silver suit.
"Are you serious?" Artemis asked with a grin.
"I got your measurements when we first started training and you mentioned that your favorite color was silver, so I sent those specs over to our design guys in Gotham and they whipped this up. Go try it on." Oliver said and Artemis grinned as she closed the case, picked it up and rushed over to the changing rooms to change.
"Please tell me I didn't miss the reveal." Laurel said as she entered the Barracks, following her weekly lunch with Yolanda Montez, which made her more and more certain that she needed to convince Oliver that they needed to take in Yolanda like they had Artemis, since they'd already moved into the Queen Mansion and Thea and Helena had taken their old apartment.
"She's changing now." Oliver assured her.
"Good. I didn't want this. Or the other surprise. But we need to talk about Yolanda. I think she needs us, just like Artemis does." Laurel said.
"We can talk about her later. Right now, I'd like to focus on Artemis." Oliver said and Laurel nodded, since she could see that he did intend to talk about this later.
But before they could discuss it any further, Artemis came out of the changing rooms, now dressed in a silver outfit, complete with a silver mask similar to Oliver's own. (see wattpad for an image of the suit, since writing suit descriptions is not my strong suit.)
"This thing feels amazing." Artemis said.
"Glad you like it, Silver Arrow." Oliver said.
"I like it." Artemis said.
"Great. Now it's time for the second part of your surprise. Come with us." Oliver said as he walked towards their newly installed Zeta Tube, since Argo Enterprises had recently completed construction on the tube technology and now every superhero affiliated with the Justice League had a tube installed in their base, including the Barracks, the Batcave, the Island, Mount Flash, the Fortress of Solitude, Black Lightning's Sanctum, Mari's Vixen Cave, Wonder Woman's base in DC and a tube had been installed on Hephaestia and while it had been difficult, due to its location underwater, they'd even managed to install one in Atlantis, along with the Hall of Justice and their current destination.
"Where are we going?" Artemis asked, though she was excited, since this would be her first time travelling anywhere by Zeta tube.
"You'll find out when we get there." Oliver said and Artemis just nodded, knowing she wasn't going to get much more about that as the three of them walked up to the tube and Oliver activated it.
"Green Arrow, 05, confirmed, Black Canary, 16, confirmed, Silver Arrow, B09, confirmed." the AI said as the three of them walked into it and vanished.
When they came out of the Zeta tube, Artemis was surprised to find themselves in some kind of lair.
"Where are we?" Artemis asked as several teenagers walked up.
"Welcome to Mount Justice in Happy Harbor, Rhode Island, the new headquarters of the Young Justice program, the Justice League's training program for young heroes. In addition to working with my team in Star City, you'll also be working with this team, which was created to give our proteges the chance to learn without their mentors' oversight." Oliver said and Artemis nodded as her new teammates walked up to her.
"Meet your new team leader, Powergirl, and your new teammates, Wonder Girl, Superboy, Lightning, Miss Martian, Firestorm and Aqualad. But I was expecting to see Robin and Spoiler here too." Oliver said, looking for them.
"You didn't hear? They're in the hospital right now. Apparently they got jumped while on patrol. Batman's on the warpath and Nightwing even went back to Gotham to help him." Powergirl said.
"No, but I'm not surprised that Batman is keeping that quiet. I'll check in with him later." Oliver said, right as his phone rang and he saw it was Thea.
"Hey Thea, what's going on?" Oliver asked.
"Helena's on her way to the hospital." Thea said in a panic.
"What?" Oliver asked in shock at hearing that.
"We were on our way home from dinner when this freak wearing a red hood attacked us. He didn't seem to care about me, but he beat Helena up badly. And he called her Huntress." Thea said, getting Oliver's attention.
"He knew who she was?" Oliver asked.
"Yeah. Bruce and Selina are already on their way here to meet us at the hospital. I need you to get here fast." Thea said.
"We're on our way." Oliver said as he hung up.
"What's going on?" Laurel asked.
"Helena's in the hospital. I'm guessing the same guy who jumped Robin and Spoiler attacked her too." Oliver said.
"We need to get back now. Artemis, you can stay if you want, but Oliver and I need to go." Laurel said.
"I'll catch up later. I want to get to know my new teammates." Artemis said and Oliver nodded as he and Laurel moved to Zeta back to Star City.
