It was a beautiful morning in Arendelle, the kind of day where the air was crisp, the sky clear, and the snow sparkled like diamonds in the sunlight. The castle was warm and alive with the sounds of the kingdom going about its business, but inside the royal chambers, things were a little different.
Today was a special day.
Queen Elsa and Kristoff Bjorgman, new parents to their baby girl A'Laylianna Kehlani Reign Bjorgman, had been through a whirlwind of sleepless nights and diaper changes ever since their daughter's birth. And as much as they adored their little princess and cherished every moment with her, the couple hadn't had a chance to spend any time alone since her arrival.
That's where Princess Anna came in.
Anna had been looking for any and every opportunity to spend time with her newborn niece, and when Elsa shyly mentioned that she and Kristoff could use a short break for a much-needed date night, she practically jumped at the chance.
"Oh, please let me babysit!" she had begged, her eyes shining with excitement.
"I'd love to spend some quality time with my niece! I promise everything will be fine!"
At first, Elsa hesitated, concerned about leaving A'Laylianna behind, even for a few hours. But Kristoff had gently reminded her that Anna was more than capable, and besides—it would be good for them to recharge, even if only for an evening. And with that little encouragement, she finally agreed.
Now, on this crisp morning, Anna was standing at the entrance to Elsa and Kristoff's chambers, bouncing on the balls of her feet in anticipation.
Elsa and Kristoff were getting ready to leave, their coats fastened tightly as they prepared for a rare outing into town.
Elsa smiled warmly as she gently rocked A'Laylianna in her arms, the newborn bundled in soft blankets.
"Are you sure you're ready for this?" she asked, casting a somewhat nervous glance at Anna.
Anna laughed, reaching out to take her niece into her arms.
"Elsa, it's me. I've got this—trust me. Besides, it's only a few hours, and I'll have Olaf and Sven to help. What could possibly go wrong?"
Olaf, standing beside Sven, chimed in enthusiastically.
"Yeah, don't worry! I'm great with babies! We'll sing songs and play games—oh! And I'll tell her stories about summer! Babies love stories about summer, right?"
Elsa raised an eyebrow but smiled nonetheless.
"Right," she said, handing A'Laylianna over to Anna, who cradled the newborn with practiced ease.
Kristoff, ever the practical one, gave Anna a brief rundown of the baby's schedule.
"She'll probably nap soon," he said.
"But if she gets fussy, just give her Iorek and rock her gently. She loves that. And there's a bottle in the warmer if she gets hungry."
Anna nodded eagerly, already swaying back and forth with A'Laylianna in her arms.
"Got it! Naps, Iorek, rocking, and bottles. Piece of cake!"
Kristoff gave a satisfied nod, while Elsa leaned in to kiss her daughter's forehead.
"We won't be gone long," she murmured to A'Laylianna, though it felt more like she was reassuring herself more than anything.
"You be good for your Auntie Anna, okay?"
A'Laylianna blinked sleepily, her tiny fingers curling into Anna's dress.
"Alright," Kristoff said, giving Sven a pat on the side.
"Let's get going before we change our minds."
Anna grinned and waved them off.
"Go! Have fun! We'll be just fine!"
With a final wave, Elsa and Kristoff headed out the door, leaving Anna, Olaf, Sven, and little A'Laylianna behind.
The castle suddenly felt quieter without Elsa and Kristoff around, but Anna couldn't have been more excited. She settled herself and A'Laylianna onto the couch in the cozy nursery, where the fireplace crackled softly, warming the space.
"Okay, little one," she said softly, gazing down at her niece with love and adoration.
"It's just you and me—and Olaf and Sven, of course. We're going to have so much fun, aren't we?"
A'Laylianna squirmed a bit in her blankets, letting out a soft, contented coo.
Olaf, who had been bouncing around the room, plopped down next to Anna, peering over at the baby with wide, curious eyes.
"She's so small," he said in awe.
"I mean, I knew she'd be small, but…wow! Babies really are tiny, huh?"
Anna chuckled.
"Yeah, they sure are. But they grow up fast."
Sven, not wanting to be left out, nosed his way into the room and gently nudged Anna's shoulder, his big brown eyes staring down at A'Laylianna with equal curiosity. He let out a soft grunt, as if to say "she's cute."
Anna grinned and patted Sven's head.
"You're right, Sven. She's the cutest baby in all of Arendelle!"
Olaf climbed onto the couch next to Anna, leaning in close as if to get a better look at the baby.
"So, what do we do now?" he asked.
"Do we play with her? Tell her a story? Maybe a snowman story?"
"Well," Anna said, bouncing A'Laylianna gently.
"She'll probably want to take a nap soon, but until then, we can sing her a lullaby. How about that?"
Olaf's face lit up.
"Oh! I love lullabies! Can I sing too?"
"Of course," Anna replied with a smile.
"But let's keep it soft, okay? We don't want to wake her if she falls asleep."
"Okay!" Olaf chirped.
Together, Anna and Olaf began to sing a gentle lullaby, their voices blending in a soft, soothing melody that filled the room.
A'Laylianna's eyelids grew heavy, and before long, she was fast asleep, her tiny chest rising and falling with each peaceful breath.
Anna felt a sense of accomplishment as she gazed down at her sleeping niece.
So far so good!
She gently placed A'Laylianna in her crib, tucking the blankets around her to keep her warm and cozy.
"Phew," she whispered, stepping back from the crib.
"That wasn't so hard, was it?"
Olaf nodded enthusiastically.
"We're natural babysitters!"
Sven, meanwhile, had settled himself by the fireplace, his large frame stretched out as he dozed off into a peaceful nap.
With A'Laylianna asleep and the room quiet, Anna took a moment to sit down and relax. She couldn't help but smile as she thought about how much her life had changed since Elsa and Kristoff had become parents. Being an aunt was a new kind of adventure—one that she knew she was more than ready for.
As the hours passed, everything seemed to be going smoothly.
A'Laylianna woke from her nap after a while, and Anna was ready with the bottle, feeding her while Olaf hummed another lullaby and Sven continued his nap by the fire.
After feeding, Anna gently rocked A'Laylianna in her arms, humming softly. The newborn stared up at her with wide, curious eyes, as if taking in the world for the first time.
"You're going to have so many adventures," she whispered to A'Laylianna.
"Just wait until you're old enough to build snowmen with Olaf and go on sleigh rides with Sven. We're going to have so much fun. And I'm gonna be right here for it all."
A'Laylianna cooed in response, and her heart melted a little more.
Olaf, never the one to stay still for too long, suddenly had an idea.
"Hey, Anna! What if we show her her first snowflake? She's a baby, but maybe she'd like to see one up close!"
Anna raised an eyebrow but couldn't help but smile at Olaf's enthusiasm.
"You know what? Why not?"
Olaf rushed to the window and, with a little puff of magic from the snowy wind outside, summoned a delicate snowflake that floated gently toward A'Laylianna.
A'Laylianna's eyes widened in wonder as the tiny, sparkling snowflake hovered in front of her. She reached out with one of her tiny hands, her fingers closing around the snowflake as if trying to catch it.
"See? She likes it!"
Anna chuckled.
"Yeah, she does. I think she's going to love snow just like her mama."
For the next hour, she, Olaf, and Sven kept A'Laylianna entertained with more snowflakes, gentle songs, and a few silly faces that made her giggle softly.
Everything was perfect…
Until the inevitable happened.
Just as Anna was getting comfortable again, a soft but unmistakable sound reached her ears.
What the…?
She froze for a moment, then slowly looked down at A'Laylianna, whose face was scrunched up in concentration.
"Oh no..." she whispered.
"I think we've got a situation."
Olaf tilted his head in confusion.
"Situation? What kind of situation?"
Anna gave Olaf a look.
"The kind of situation where we need to change a diaper."
Olaf's eyes went wide.
"Oh! I didn't think about that. How do we…uh…do that?"
Anna stood up, cradling A'Laylianna in her arms as she made her way over to the changing table.
"Don't worry," she said with a determined smile.
"I've got this. How hard can it be?"
Olaf followed Anna, looking both curious and slightly nervous.
"Do you need help?" he quipped.
"I think I can manage," Anna replied, though her confidence wavered slightly as she unwrapped the blanket and got to work.
The diaper change was…messy, to say the least.
Anna fumbled a bit with the straps and wipes, and there were a few close calls involving baby powder, but after a few minutes, she managed to get A'Layliana cleaned up and into a fresh diaper.
"There," she said, wiping her brow in relief.
"Crisis averted."
Olaf clapped his hands.
"Great job Anna!" he cheered with a smile.
"You're a natural!"
Anna couldn't help but laugh at the adorable snowman.
"Thanks, Olaf. I think I'll leave the next one to Elsa, though."
With the "situation" resolved, the rest of the day passed in relative peace.
Anna continued to dote on her niece, reading her stories and rocking her whenever she seemed fussy.
Olaf stayed by their side, always ready to make silly faces or tell jokes to keep A'Laylianna entertained.
And Sven, of course, played the role of the quiet observer, occasionally offering a soft grunt of approval or a nuzzle of affection.
As evening began to fall, the sound of castle doors opening signaled Elsa and Kristoff's return.
Anna's heart swelled with pride as she realized that she had made it through the whole day without any major disasters.
Elsa entered the room and Kristoff followed suit, both looking a little more refreshed after their time away. Her eyes immediately went to her daughter, who was now fast asleep in Anna's arms.
"How was she?" she asked softly, a gentle smile on her face.
Anna grinned.
"She was perfect, Els. We had a lot of fun, didn't we, A'Laylianna?"
Kristoff stepped forward, his eyes softening as he gazed down at his sleeping daughter.
"Thanks, Anna. We really appreciate this."
"No problem," Anna replied, carefully handing A'Laylianna back to Elsa.
"Anytime you need a break, you know where to find me."
Elsa chuckled softly, cradling A'Laylianna in her arms.
"I think we'll take you up on that."
As Elsa and Kristoff shared a quiet moment with their daughter, Anna, Olaf, and Sven exchanged satisfied smiles.
They had done it—successfully babysitting a newborn and managing to have fun in the process.
"Well," Anna said with a yawn, stretching her arms above her head,
"I think I'm ready for a nap now."
Olaf laughed.
"Me too! Babysitting is hard work!"
Sven let out a low grunt, clearly in agreement.
The group shared a final laugh as they settled into the room's warmth, the fireplace's glow casting a soft light over them.
It had been a day filled with love, laughter, and the joy of family, and as the evening drew to a close, Anna knew that this was just the beginning of many more adventures with her niece.
