Piccolo —

Ever since he had been born, things had not gone his way, and today was no exception.

"You're not Kakarot." The spiky-headed man wearing ugly armor and spandex underwear pointed at him.

"No shit." Piccolo frowned. "I'm a literal green demon. How the hell would you have mistaken me for anyone else?"

"I don't like your attitude, weakling."

"Tch," Piccolo growled. He had him there. Their level of strength wasn't anywhere close to one another. There could be five Piccolos, and he'd have trouble taking on this stranger.

"I'm looking for someone like me." The tall, spiky-headed man announced, pointing at his tail. "Tell me where I can find him, and I'll allow you to live…for now."

A memory of Goku punching through his father flashed in his mind, the tail of that annoying fuck fluttering through the air.

"I have no idea." Piccolo grinned, throwing off his turban.

Let the record show he wasn't defending Goku; no that wasn't his intention. He just wanted to be the one to kill him. All that fighting he did and ended up losing left a sour taste in his mouth, and he'd be damned if some guy who hadn't combed his hair since the day he was born came up to him and stole his kill!

The man let out a sigh and took to the sky. "If I cross paths with you again, make no mistake, I will put you down." With those words, he flew off.

Piccolo was left, mouth open and confused.

"Damnit!"

*BOOM*

In his anger, Piccolo unleashed a ki blast on a small island, leaving a sizable crater in it.

Did he just get sidestepped?

His fists clenched in anger before he calmed himself down.

Spiky hair needed to die. As much as he hated to admit it, he was way stronger than Goku and him combined, and if Piccolo wanted to rule this planet, both Spiky Hair and Goku would need to die.

The Namekians eyes narrowed as he saw the guy heading toward Goku and a bunch of his other weakling friends.

This could be the chance he needed.

There was no way he would beat this guy alone, and as prideful as he is, Piccolo is no idiot.

Piccolo took off in Goku's direction with a determined frown on his face.

It seemed he would have to fight another ape for control of the planet.

Bulma —

Looking at the black-haired little boy playing with Turtle, she wondered if she was actually dreaming.

Son Goku…the same uncivilized boy she found in the mountains all those years ago…was now a father.

"Gohan quit playing with that Turtle! We don't want people saying things…"

Okay, what the fuck does that even mean?!

Bulma sighed and smiled at the sight of Goku picking his son Gohan up. He really did grow up into a fine young man.

Bulma's eyes drifted over to Yamcha, who was sitting on the porch, watching alongside Krillin. She began to rethink her entire life.

Had she known Goku would have been such a tall and handsome man, she wouldn't have thought twice of throwing herself at him, but his lack of common sense had thrown her off, and now she was with Yamcha.

Who hadn't changed a bit.

"Bulma, is something wrong?" Krillin asked from behind her, and she turned to him, giving him a blank look before shaking her head.

"Just reminiscing I suppose."

"Ehehe! I get it!" Krillin laughed. "Goku's grown a lot, who would have thought he'd have a son, him of all people!"

"Yeah…" Bulma sighed. She didn't want to ruin a moment like this by spilling her heart out, but she hoped that her issues would be resolved one day. Even now, her life should feel complete, but she still felt like she was missing something that a large part of her was craving.

"I found you, Kakarot!"

All eyes shot up toward the new voice and floating in the air was a spiky-haired man wearing brown and black armor and…underwear.

Bulma's eyes widened as she saw the appendage swishing around behind the man.

A tail, like Goku had.

"...Do any of you know this guy?" Krillin asked with his hands on his hips.

"No idea." Bulma shook her head, and Yamcha stood up to come stand in front of her protectively.

"I've never seen this man before." Goku said before his eyes locked onto the man's tail. "A tail?"

"Don't tell me you've forgotten already, Kakarot?" The man frowned while looking at Goku.

"I think you have me mixed up with someone, my name is Son Goku."

"Tch, I figured…tell me, you hit your head as a baby, didn't you?"

Goku blinked then squinted for a moment before his eyes widened.

"Yeah, I thought so. Prince Vegeta isn't going to be pleased when he hears about another idiot Saiyan that hit their head." The man whispered to himself, but it was still loud enough for them to hear. "Well, no matter, I'll give you a quick summary." The man smiled and uncrossed his arms. "Your name is Kakarot. You were born from a superior race known as the Saiyans, and you were sent here as a baby to conquer this planet in the name of the Galactic Emperor, Lord Freeza."

Bulma's whole world came to a stop. Goku…was an alien?

…That made way too much sense.

But what didn't make sense was how he was sent to Earth as a baby to conquer it.

"And what's more…" The man grinned. "I came to pick you up from this rock, little brother, I am your older brother, Raditz."

""Little/older brother?!"" Everyone shouted in surprise.

Goku had a living blood relative?! She honestly couldn't believe it!

"...You're my brother?" Goku asked slowly.

"I had expected this planet to be devoid of life by the time I came to pick you up, but if you hit your head, it can't be helped. No matter. Vegeta IV, the Prince of all Saiyans, sent me to pick you up and bring you back to him. We have work to do, Kakarot." The man grinned, turned around, and started walking toward the sea. After a few steps, he stopped and turned around.

"...Well, what are you waiting for? Let's go!"

"...I won't." Goku shook his head. "This is my home. You may be my brother, but I barely know you!"

The man's face twisted into a snarl. "You have some nerve, Kakarot! You cannot turn down an order from Saiyan royalty! Prince Vegeta has summoned you!"

"I don't know him either!" Goku waved his hands in front of him. "How do you expect me to go with you?!"

"Kakarot, you will do as you are told!"

"I won't!"

Bulma slipped her body entirely behind Yamcha because she could tell things were about to get physical and fast.

"Then I will drag you to him!" Raditz shouted, disappearing from her sight and appearing right in front of Goku.

There was no time to react, and Raditz landed a hard blow into Goku's stomach, causing him to drop to the ground and clutch his midsection.

"Do you feel like listening now?" He asked with a wicked smirk. Then, the smirk was abruptly wiped off of his face when he caught sight of Gohan.

"Kakarot…did you breed?"

"What the hell does that taste like?" Goku asked, getting up; Bulma had to resist the urge to facepalm. How was he still so goddamn dumb?

Raditz walked over to Gohan who tried to run away, but the taller man easily snatched him by his tail. "Yes, there is no doubt in my mind, this is a Saiyan boy."

"Let go of my son!" Goku shouted, charging Raditz again only to be backhanded into Kame House.

"Goku!" Krillin shouted before turning to Raditz and clenching his fist. "That tears it! I don't care if you are Goku's brother, I won't allow you to hurt my friends!"

"Oh wow…that's unbelievably sweet. So sweet in fact that it makes me feel like letting you all off the hook."

"R-Really?" Krillin asked, a nervous smile working its way onto his face.

"No~" Raditz sing-songed before rushing Krillin and delivering a powerful hit to his head.

*BANG*

His body went flying backward until it slammed into Kame House even harder than Goku.

*BOOM*

"I'm taking this." Raditz smirked while shaking a very weak and tired Gohan in his arms. "If you want him back, then you'll come to my spacepod, ready and willing to serve Prince Vegeta."

With those parting words, Raditz took off toward the sky, leaving behind a very dumbfounded and shaken up group of Z Fighters.

"No! Someone stop him!" Goku shouted, only for his cries to be met with silence. "God dammit Krillin, why didn't you or Yamcha do anything?!"

"What are you damning me for? I was bitch slapped into a wall, what was I supposed to do?!" Krillin asked, rubbing his head and feeling the lump that was visibly forming.

"Yeah, I'm gonna be honest here…I think we're outclassed Goku." Yamcha said as he wiped a bit of sweat off his forehead

"He has Gohan, we have to do something." Bulma said, placing her hand on her chin. She didn't know what could be done, and she knew she wouldn't have any use, but maybe she had a gadget that could distract Goku's brother long enough for them to grab Gohan? It wouldn't be a permanent fix, but getting Gohan back had to be their top priority right now.

"Then, allow me." All of them looked up at the sky again, but this time in fear, for they recognized this voice.

"P-Piccolo." Krillin stuttered out, likely getting PTSD from his first death.

"Piccolo, I'm sure you want to have that rematch, but now really isn't the time! That guy took my son!"

"Yeah…I'm gonna be honest, I couldn't care less, but luck's on your side, we're not fighting today…at least not each other." Piccolo grunted out before landing on the island.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Roshi asked, narrowing his eyes.

"Tch, is it not obvious?" Piccolo scoffed. "Did you even try sensing his power?"

"We don't need to." Krillin said under his breath. "The way he messed us up, he's gotta be several times stronger than Goku."

"Exactly. As we are, we don't stand a chance against that guy, and I have no intention of following orders, which is why we need to take him down."

"We?!" Bulma asked, placing a hand on her hip. "Yeah right, and we should just trust the Demon King Piccolo's son?"

All of Bulma's confidence was zapped away when Piccolo glared at her with some heat behind it.

"And do you have a better idea?"

Silence.

"Believe me, the last thing I want to do is work with any of you! But we all know that none of us stand a chance against that guy, so it's either work together now, or die together later."

Again, silence met his words.

"...If you'll help me get my son back, I'll fight with you." Goku nodded.

"Goku, are you sure about this?!" Yamcha questioned, stepping forward.

"I'm not." Goku shook his head. "But I don't have any other choice. Just try not to betray me, Piccolo."

"No promises." Piccolo grinned maliciously as they took to the sky.

"Krillin, go with them!" Bulma shouted at the midget.

"I'm still healing from getting smacked through a wall!"

"God damn it, Krillin!"

Author's Note: Start of Z is so fun to write; although with how many times I've watched Abridged as opposed to the original series, it may have tainted my mind on how the characters pan out. I hope it meshes well.
