Chapter 29
"Ugh I don't wanna go!"
Today was that dreadful day being Valentine's Day. Yuuki just called me to ask for help for herding the girls to class since it's technically their morning and our night.
"Then don't. I'm sure Yuuki-san can handle it on her own. Kiryuu-san should show up eventually." Senri mumbled from under the blanket. I was looking out the window and could see the large group of girls from here.
"Yeah but she called me. She's never done that before. Ya know what, I'll just go in my pjs I'll be back in a bit." I said while finishing putting on my thigh high black socks and shoes. I had on an oversized Blue October t-shirt and purple booty shorts with my black socks. I'm grumpy and ready to rock and roll.
Running out the door and towards the gate, the girls screaming were getting louder. I can imagine the vampys could hear their screams from inside.
I slipped out the gate glaring at the girls in my way. They said they thought someone important was coming through the gates but it was just me. Yuuki was standing on the wall, no idea how she got up there.
"Alright everyone, go back to your class!" they ignored me so I took it up a notch, "NO ONE IN THE NIGHT CLASS CAN FUCKING SLEEP BECAUSE OF YOUR FUCKING SCREAAAMING NOW GET TO CLASS!"
So what I didn't know was there was a girl who was trying to climb the wall with her friend and when I started screaming my voice scared them and made the one climbing the wall lose her balance and fall. However, Zero showed up on time just to catch the girl. Ah she's one of Takuma's fangirls, the one I sold his hair to.
"Good job Zero!" Yuuki cheered from the wall.
Then Zero told everyone to come back during twilight to give their chocolates. Or that the event will be canceled.
As the girls began walking back to class I went up to Zero and Yuuki, "hey don't cancel the event I'm looking forward to eating their chocolates later."
Yuuki shushed me because of how close the girls were but they weren't paying attention.
Zero, on the other hand, asked what I was wearing.
"This is my pjs!" I cheered proudly, "I just put them on when Yuuki called me."
"Sorry Cassie, it looks like we could've handled this on our own," Yuuki said nervously.
"It's okay, I was just going to sleep with Senri."
Yuuki blushed and looked away while Zero looked at me with disgust, "sex is prohibited on school grounds."
"I said sleep, Zero! You pervert!"
Just then a Day Class girl came up to me asking if I'd take her chocolates to Aidou.
"...no. NOW GET TO CLASS. ALL OF YOU GO GO GO I WANNA SEE RUNNING! IF I CATCH YOU I'M EATING YOUR CHOCOLATES," I chased after the rest of the girls until they were running away from me. I swear we're just herding dogs around here.
By the time I got back to the gate no one was there. I slipped back into the gate and ran all the way back to my room. After taking off my boots, I cuddled Senri despite being cold and wrapped my legs around his. This was going to be a very long day.

Setting up the Valentine's Gates with the boys' names was a pain. They look easy but unless you're setting them up they're not. The Headmaster called me down and helped set them up when the Day Class students were in school. The bell had rung and like a tidal wave the girls came out to their respective gates.
Quickly heading back in the Moon Dormitory, I grabbed my reusable grocery bags and headed back downstairs where the Night Class was forming.
"Cassie, I'm surprised to see you're here so late." Takuma chuckled to himself.
"Yeah, yeah I know. I already set up the gates though so Yuuki and Zero can chill out. Here, take one of these." I yawned as I began handing out the bags to the boys. Then I stopped at Kaname, Chaotic and October. Kaname refused a bag.
"Would it be wrong for us to take a bag? Since we're married to each other?" Chaotic asked October.
"Just think of it as a reverse parade, Irony!" October took two bags and slammed one into her husband's gut. "I want your chocolates!"
"Anyone else want one?" I called out but everyone else refused. I then gave Aidou another bag saying he's gonna need it and head back out to the chaos.
"Sorry I'm back." I called out to Yuuki. "I had to give them bags so they could put their chocolates into."
"Oh that's a really great idea!" said Yuuki and I thanked her.
Finally, at Twilight the gates opened to reveal the Night Class and the girls went crazy. I had to put in earphones just to drown out some of the screaming. Seriously, do they think guys would fall for them acting like this?
Yuuki blew her whistle and is now explaining the rules to the Night Class when Aidou takes off running towards his gate so I end up blocking him. It was either that or tripping him.
Before he could get upset with me Kaname called him out and told him to behave. And then I moved aside.
As I was standing guard, I watched Takuma grab Senri and dragged him to his gate. It was hilarious that I laughed so hard. Then the group of girls that Yuuki was watching over pushed her over so she fell to the floor. I raced over to scream at the girls to stay in their lane while helping Yuuki up. Zero grabbed something on the floor and threw it at Kaname. Aww Yuuki got Kaname chocolates!
Suddenly, the girls in front of me thought they could pull a smart one like they did to Yuuki and try to push me down. Luckily, I caught my balance and screamed at them to not touch me. I snarled at them like an animal and they scattered like cockroaches. I'm so fucking tired I had Takuma's training today too. I just need them to shut the fuck up for five minutes.
A hand went on the back of my shoulder, it was Chaotic. I didn't even have to turn around. I could just feel his presence, "hey Cassie it's okay." I could hear my heart beating in my ear, my mouth was dry, and I'm starting to shake. I closed my eyes trying to drown everything out but tears came out of my eyes.
Chaotic turned me around and pulled me into a tight hug trying to snap me out of my panic attack.
"I just want them to stop screaming." I sobbed into his chest. Memories of being screamed at by my parents as a kid were wracking my brain. I never thought the girls would recreate the same pitch as my biological mother's voice.
"Hey Zero, I'm gonna take Cassie to class." I heard Chaotic say to Zero but I didn't dare look up.
Suddenly, Chaotic picked me up bridal style and everything went quiet. I could still hear my heart beating but it wasn't as profound. Opening my eyes as we walked to class, I could see the girls were screaming but I couldn't hear them. Chaotic must have one of his invisible magic bubbles surrounding us. Where people can hear us but we can't hear them. I've never been so grateful to Chaotic like I was at this moment.
Once we were in the school he gently placed me down and undid the bubble. You could hear the girls but it wasn't as strong as it was back there.
Senri came up to me to ask what was wrong but then he saw the memories playing in my head. Rima looked concerned too. Now that I think about it there were a lot of people staring at me.
As if finally remembering my surroundings. I thanked Chaotic and grabbed Senri's hand so we could enter the classroom. I didn't feel like talking anymore.
"Sorry I made you worry. I got over-stimulated and it brought back some unhappy memories." I spoke gently in my head, trying to block out the memories so he wouldn't have to see them.
"You don't have to apologize." He replied back in my head and pulled out a chocolate for me.
"Aww you know just how to cheer me up." I smiled softly at Senri. He can be a big sweetheart.

It was the next night and I had just gotten back to class from going to the bathroom. Upon entering the room nearly everyone was gone except for Takuma, Chaotic, and October.
"Cassie, go outside. Ruka and Aidou are trying to pick a fight with Zero" Chaotic called from the window without looking back at me. Son of a fucking bitches. I ran downstairs and out the door just as Yuuki was telling everyone that they would have to fight her first. Is she insane?
"Okay that's enough!" Yuuki jumped at the sound of my voice. "Everyone has 30 seconds to get to class or I will start taking names for the Headmaster and Kaname!" Hell, even Senri and Rima were out here!
"What the fuck are you two doing out here?" Picking a fight with a hunter, do you have a death wish? I asked Senri that last part in my head.
"We just came out here because everyone else was going outside. Didn't know they were picking a fight." Rima explained for her and Senri. Senri was playing the event in my head as an explanation.
I apologized but still ushered them into the school so I really don't have to make exceptions because that looks bad. As I'm supposed to be unbiased.
After herding the Night Class back into the classroom, we all hung out waiting for Kaname to return. Which he didn't, it was strange. Even the teacher waited twenty minutes before starting chemistry. Suddenly, the teacher stopped talking and just eerily stood facing us. Everyone else who was slouching or almost asleep suddenly sat up. I was sitting next to Senri and Rima.
"Chaotic, what's going on?" I looked back at him.
"Cassie, grab your things and come sit next to me." he had this tone of voice where you know better than to refuse him.
I grabbed my stuff and headed up towards Chaotic. I tried to linger a bit by Senri but I wasn't picking anything up from his mind. His gaze was so focused on the door.
Chaotic had me sit in between him and October, "the smell of blood is strong in the air."
"Should I go check?"
"Cassie, if you leave the classroom I can't protect you. It's better to stay here by me." he looked so serious.
"Can you tell where it is?"
"It's in the school." I studied Chaotic's face. He was here, yes, but his eyes were in a far away place.
I think he's using a spy animal to search for the cause of the blood because when his eyes go out of focus that's what he's doing.
Looking around the room some students, who didn't know that I was bonded to Senri, began sizing me up with glowing red eyes. It was honestly unnerving. It made goosebumps go up and down my body. Senri and Rima moved themselves to sit behind us and Takuma moved to sit in front of me. I had my own protection team to protect me from the others if need be.
I slowly leaned back to look at Senri, my hair falling back and my neck exposed, "is now the time we tell the class we're bonded because they're all looking at me like I'm a snack. Wait no I'm a whole meal." I sent the message to him in my mind. He was daydreaming about drinking my blood. "Senri? Hello?"
Senri glanced over at the onlookers with a bored expression, however a low growl left his throat, "her blood is already spoken for."
There were a few gasps across the room and then one guy wanted me to prove it. For which Aidou spoke up, "Trust me you don't want her to do that! These windows do not open!"
"Yeah every time I do, people start dry heaving and it's actually starting to hurt mah feelin's." I pouted. The tension in the room subsided.
Takuma turned towards me, "I'm still terribly sorry for that, Cassie."
"Oh you're okay Takuma. I was mainly referring to Aidou who kept hugging the trash can for five minutes."
"It smells really awful!" He cried from down below.
"A love bond with a human? Here I thought you were just using her but you actually care about the human." Ruka is such a bitch.
"She isn't just a human. She's Cassie. Use her name." Rima snapped at Ruka. I feel so loved.
"Okay that's enough guys. Settle down." The teacher tried to get the class under control but failed.
"Damnit, I knew I should've gotten to her blood when she first transitioned to the Night Class." That was Ducky. The teacher left the classroom at this point.
"Hey Shiki-san, what does her blood taste like?" That was Nao-chan.
"Enough." Chaotic snarled at the students with his full pureblood aura on display, "There will be no more discussions about this."
The door creaked open, and the teacher returned with Kaname.
"Kaname-sama! What happened? What-"
"That's enough Ruka, sit down."
I'd be lying if I said that wasn't satisfying as fuck.
"Let's return to class." Kaname nodded at the teacher.

I didn't check in with Yuuki and Zero last night. I looked all over the grounds for both of them and just figured they went to bed early. Today after training with Takuma, I went to the Headmaster's house to return tupperware that October had borrowed. Apparently she loves the Headmaster's food so every Sunday her and Chaotic will go for supper at his house.
It was after the Day Class students left the school by the time I made it to the Headmaster's house. As I rounded the corner I came across Yuuki pointing Zero's gun at him. I took a step back and crouched down behind a bush. He was telling her how to aim the gun at him to shoot.
"It's not illegal to kill a vampire." Zero said. I covered my nose and mouth to keep myself from gasping.
Yuuki threw the gun on the ground and hugged Zero from behind. At that moment, I took off running. I had to get to Chaotic. Somewhere along the way I lost the fucking tupperware. I was running as fast as I could. I just know one thing for certain and that was Zero is a vampire and he was probably the cause of the blood smell last night.

Taking two stairs at a time I made it to Chaotic's room without interruption. Barging through the door, Chaotic sat up straight in bed. October was still asleep.
"Come to the bathroom I need to talk to you immediately." I grabbed his free hand since the other was buried deep in his hair.
He almost tripped over his feet from my strength.
"Chaotic, I'm giving you permission to read my mind. There's too many people nearby with super hearing. It'll be safer if you read my mind, Irony." I sat down on the edge of the bathtub and he sat down on the toilet seat.
"Are you sure-"
"Chaotic this is urgent just do it!" I whisper screamed at him.
Suddenly, I felt probing in my head before there was a pop. Kinda like when your ears pop. Just not as intense.
I showed him my memory of Zero and Yuuki and asked what to do. Do I confront them or continue like I don't know anything? Also was Zero fading to a Level E? How can I pretend to not know when there's a chance of him going mad? Pictures erupted of my thoughts of that guy named Yoshi and how he looked so ragged and drool hanging off his fangs. And the blood. Blood everywhere-
"Cassie."
I looked up at Chaotic. He brought me out of my potential panic attack. But he was talking in my mind.
"Cassie, I'm going to show you something and I want you to stay calm."
In my head, he began playing a memory of when he first got here and it was him and Kaname in his office.
Flashback Chaotic's POV*
I entered Kaname's office. It's been ages since I last saw him. The last time I saw him was the day after I was being tested against my will and I had to hide it from everyone else because of my wretched parents.
"Chaotic, is something troubling you?" Kaname asked in barely a whisper.
Snapping out of my dark thoughts, I expressed the real reason I was here. "It's about Kiryuu-san. He is a…" I didn't want to finish it just in case anyone was nearby.
"Yes. His life changed four years ago when his family was slaughtered by Shizuka Hio."
My eyes widened at this new information, I've been out of the Night World life for so long. Usually I would hear updates from my grandma if something major happened, but she left this out.
He explained why Shizuka killed his family and that she was still on the loose.
"What do we do just wait until he goes berserk? He should be in the Night Class." I whispered, studying Kaname's eyes but he kept himself so guarded I could barely read them.
"We wait to see how Kiryuu pulls through. However, his time is near."
Flashback Over*
The glare I was weaponing would've impressed Kaito. Chaotic knew the whole fucking time but said nothing. He hasn't even told October! I stood up to storm out of the bathroom but he caught my left hand.
"Wait Cassie," he said in my mind and pulled me back towards the tub, "You can't tell anyone. I think it'll be wise to tell Yuuki that you know but wait for the perfect timing."
"The perfect timing? The perfect timing! Chaotic, how am I supposed to time it? How am I supposed to keep this from Senri because this'll be on my mind constantly-"
"Exactly why you should admit to Yuuki that you know because it'll help both of you to vent to each other. To be there for each other. As for Senri… just make sure he doesn't say it to anyone, just you. This can't get out, it'll cause an uproar."
"One last question before I want you out of my head. The blood incident last night, did Zero bite Yuuki?"
He didn't look at me, he just nodded his head. And with that I stormed out. I loathe being out of the loop. Fucking purebloods keeping shit to themselves. How many other secrets are being tucked away?

"A night off woo hoo!" I cheered, I was sitting on the couch in the Moon Dormitory's lobby. Senri was laying down with his head in my lap. We were joined by October, Chaotic, and Candy Kain. I'm still not talking to Chaotic so he looks like a kicked puppy.
"Oh I forgot to tell ya, we're having a soirée tonight for Takuma's birthday." October hummed causally.
What?
"What?" I repeated out loud. "T-T-Takuma's birthday?" I NEED TO GIFT HIM SOMETHING!
"Yeah it's today but we're celebrating it at midnight!" How can she be so cheerful about this? Chaotic looked like he was sinking into his seat. He knew this too but didn't say anything to me?!
I start laughing without opening my mouth while staring him dead in the eyes. He sunk down further.
"Why didn't you tell me this earlier?" I asked with my left eyebrow visibly twitching.
"Well you were training with Takuma today there wasn't time to tell you." October shrugged.
I whipped out my phone and called the Headmaster to ask him for permission to go to town and he, of course, said yes but that I needed to bring someone with me.
"Senri will you please please go to town with me. Please, the Headmaster won't let me go unless I have someone with me again!" I groaned out I didn't want to sound whiny but this is urgent.
Senri, seeing what I was thinking about, mumbled, "you don't have to get him anything. Ichijou will be happy that you just showed up at his party."
"You don't understand, I consider him a best friend. I either gotta give him something or bake him something. Does he like cinnamon rolls? Do I have time to bake cinnamon rolls from scratch? We gotta go to the stores, Senri please." I slid out from underneath him and stood by the coffee table slightly bouncing on my heels.
Just then the devil himself walked down the stairs. "Oh Senri, can you come to town with me? I have to run an errand for Kaname."
Senri groaned as he sat up, "why does everyone want me to go with them?"
"Actually, Taku-chan, I asked Senri first to go to town for ingredients…for something…" This isn't awkward at all, "but we can all go together! I have permission from the Headmaster."
Takuma stared at me long and hard. Actually, I think he was studying me.
"Why don't the two of you go together and-"
"No!" Takuma and I said at the same time and then we questioned each other at the same time.
Takuma looked at Chaotic for help but then sighed, "Fine. Cassie, you can come with Senri and I."
Hey this was my plan first! But deciding to be a good girl for once I will not argue.
"A good girl huh?" Senri said in my head I swear he just smirked!
Blushing, I pulled Senri up by his hand. "You're being mean to me," I whined in my head but held his hand.
"You're both making me work on our night off," Senri said that out loud.
"I'll make it worth your while." I winked at him and began dragging him to the door as I pictured him drinking my blood. He switched places and began dragging me and Takuma.
Takuma was carrying this long bag over his shoulders and I started getting curious about it as we left the main gates. We were still waiting for the car when I suddenly asked Senri why he didn't tell me last night about Takuma's birthday party.
"Because we had other important matters to discuss." He replied back in my head.
Ah yes, last night before class I told Senri what I saw about Zero and Yuuki. He was surprised at first and then he became angry. We actually fought, through our heads, at each other. He wanted me to stay clear of Zero. He even wanted me to quit being a Prefect! And if it ever came the day of Zero transferring to the Night Class, Senri wanted me back in the Day Class.
Obviously I was having none of that shit. I told him I was going to stay as a Night Class Prefect no matter what happened. Zero would never accept becoming a Night Class student because he hates all vampires. If anything, if he did have to switch here I'll be a saving grace to Zero just to escape from all the vampires. I love that Senri cares about me but this was going to the extreme.
What we did settle on was that I wouldn't be alone with Zero. If I did I would have to come up with an excuse to leave. That was my promise to Senri. Senri also said he'll keep it a secret and if needed he'll talk to Chaotic if he has any concerns or questions.
"Cassie, the car is here, you getting in?" Takuma asked me, and he looked very concerned for just a regular outing.
"Oh shit, yeah! Sorry, I was just in my thoughts." I climbed into the car first then Senri and Takuma.
As the car took off Takuma leaned forward in a very slyful manner, "soo Cassie-chan what are you getting me from town?"
"If I told you, it'll just ruin the surprise! By the way, do you like cinnamon rolls?" yeah like that wasn't a dead giveaway.
"I've never had homemade cinnamon rolls. But I'd appreciate anything you bake for me Cassie."
Takuma is such a sweetheart. I'll be cooking in the Night Class's kitchen per Senri's request so he doesn't have to worry about me running into Zero at the Headmaster's house.
As we got out of the car I noticed the hilt of Takuma's sword was sticking out of his bag for a few seconds. This must not be a normal errand.
Takuma and Senri walked me to a grocery store but wanted to go run the errand as I shopped.
"Takuma, she saw the hilt of your sword, just tell her the truth." Senri spoke up.
Takuma looked at me with deer in the headlights gaze.
"My student is too observant…" he sighed, taking off his sword bag. He still had it covered, he was just carrying it in his hand. "Kaname got a report that a Level E will be in town today and he asked me to take care of it."
"Can I come?" I asked lightly, bouncing on my heels.
"Uh, are you sure? You had such a bad reaction to a Level E last time." Takuma said as nicely as he could.
"I was by myself with no idea how to defend myself and no knowledge on how to kill a vampire." I can't help that I have ptsd but I want to get control over it. "Plus with the two of you I'll not only feel safe but will be safe."
"You will observe; no talking, no fighting, you'll leave that to us." Takuma said seriously. I haven't seen him so stern before.
I nodded excitedly, "you can even use me as bait!" I couldn't help myself.
"No." That was Senri.
"Chaotic would have my head." That was Takuma.
We began walking to the isolated part of town. The birds were no longer chirping and I think that disturbed me the most. The silence, I mean. It was too eerily.
"I smell blood." Senri sniffed the air along with Takuma. I'd be lying if I said I didn't try.
They took off running down the street with me following closely behind them.
Suddenly there was this maniacal laughing in an alleyway along with thrashing sounds.
"What was that sound?" Senri glanced around.
"Let's check it out!" Takuma called out.
As we rounded the corner I saw the Level E cornering Yuuki and Zero! Takuma ran up and jumped down on the vampire using his katana to slice the Level E in half, right down the middle.
As the vampire turned to dust, Yuuki and Zero could see us now.
"Woo hoo that's my sensei!" I jumped up and cheered proudly. "It looked like a scene from an anime! Takuma you're so cool!" causing Takuma to blush.
"You didn't need me at all," Senri mumbled.
"Cassie-chan, Ichijou-san, Shiki-san, what are you doing here?" Yuuki questioned, "why are you outside… doing this-"
"Not now Yuuki, go get your wound checked out. Your blood is too provocative for us." Takuma cuts Yuuki off and sets them on their way. As they passed by us, Senri extended his left arm to shield me from Zero.
Before we went our separate ways, Takuma told them if they wanted to know why we came out this evening they should come by the Moon Dormitories at midnight tonight. Which caused me to chuckle uncontrollably. If he wanted them to come to the birthday party why is he being so mysterious about it.
We headed back to the grocery store and I grabbed all the ingredients I needed for the cinnamon rolls and then we headed to a restaurant we've all been to before with the nosey waitresses. They ordered sandwiches and I ordered a parfait. Senri was sitting in the booth with Takuma with me sitting across the table from them. As we waited for our order there was a new waitress that came over.
"Oh you're all from the Night Class!" I was literally wearing my uniform, but her eyes lingered on Takuma and Senri. Particularly, Senri however.
"We just saw another person today from the Night Class" the ol nosey waitress said, she was actively trying to avoid my gaze.
"No one's been out besides us." I pointed out but they ignored me.
"Please tell Aidou-san to stop in again soon!" The new waitress cheered and went to grab our food since a 'ding' went off.
The nosey one continued talking to Takuma and I was talking to Senri in our minds.
"Are you jealous?" Senri teased me.
I rolled my eyes and told him that if I was jealous I'd admit to it.
When the new waitress came back with our meals she also brought a pen and two papers with her too. "I knew I recognized you from somewhere. Can I have your autograph? I love your work." She handed Senri a pen and one of the papers to which he signed and gave them back and then she folded the other piece of paper in her hand and went to hand him that, "that's my number if you ever wanted-"
"That's my boyfriend!" I pushed her hand away. I'm so fucking pissed. I glared at her until she backed away from the table.
"So scary," Takuma teased at me trying to ease the tension, "so now you two are boyfriend and girlfriend?"
I crossed my arms over my chest with a pout, "Yes! He's my Senri" I used my legs to hug Senri's. He was blushing at my words.
Once the waitresses were outta ear shot I leaned over the table, "hey Takuma before we leave I'm going to have Senri drink from me in the bathroom so can you wait outside so you don't start gagging."
Takuma choked on his water and thanked me for telling him. Senri looked like a blushing tomato. I threw my hands in the air and asked how else he was going to tell Takuma.
Once the bill was paid, we had Takuma distract the workers just long enough we could enter the same bathroom.
"You can kiss me later just drink from me Senri. I gotta start the cinnamon rolls soon."
Ignoring me he still kissed my lips before biting my neck.
"I can call you my girlfriend now?"
"Well you better since I just called you my boyfriend."
He replayed the memory of when I called him my boyfriend and how proud he felt. Tears pricked at the corner of my eyes, I didn't know he felt so proud of the moment.
He cleaned my wound and the surrounding area before placing a healing kiss. At least my dress shirt was black so if there is some spilled blood there it shouldn't be too noticeable.
We walked out of the bathroom hand in hand with me leading towards the exit. Takuma was already waiting in a car and when we entered he cracked open a window. Whoops it does appear that I have blood on my shirt. Well this is going to be a fun evening.

It's 10pm. I had just finished making the cinnamon rolls and since I don't trust anyone to leave these bad boys alone in the kitchen I brought them up, with oven mitts since their pan was still hot, to my room. No wait, this is for Takuma so it should be his problem now. Problem, you ask? Yes, ever since they started baking Nao-chan kept popping into the kitchen wanting a bite. Apparently, he's now a fan of my cooking/baking.
I kicked open Takuma's door and averted my eyes to a shirtless Takuma. He was running a towel through his hair. Also was wearing a towel for pants.
"Takuma, Nao-chan is going to eat your cinnamon rolls. They're your problem now. HAPPY BIRTHDAY WOO!" I cheered while taking one of the oven mitts off with my teeth and placing it on his table before placing the hot pan on the mitt and then left. I still gotta shower and find something nice to wear and get all dolled up.
By the time I got out of the shower, October had already picked out one of her dresses for me to wear. It was a thin strapped, black dress that had bunches of pink lilies on it. It even had pockets! I put on my dress before grabbing my makeup. I'll use pink eyeshadow that matches the flowers on the dress and then use wing eyeliner. I'm even bringing out the bad boys; fake eyelashes. A lot of the girls in the Night Class don't use fake lashes because their natural lashes are already long. I just want to look pretty for once. After placing them on, I took a look in the mirror and I looked cute. I just need to dry my hair but I'll let October do that. She's an expert when it comes to hair. I wanted curls. The shoes though are a different story. I am size 13 in the US so I have limited choices here. I'll just wear my school boots and it'll be fine. I left my fancy black heels in London at Sammy boi's house.
Quickly heading over to Chaotic's and October's room, I burst into the room without knocking. Chaotic was already dressed in his usual Gothic attire as was October she was just tackling her eye makeup.
"October I need your help with my curls."
"Hun, your hair is already curly."
"Yeah but I want it wavy and then curly towards the ends."
She finished her makeup and then came over and did my hair.
"You need to touch up on your roots and redye your hair purple."
"I will someday."
"What about Sunday night we can make a night of it and watch spooky movies?"
I gasped and agreed it's been months since we had a girl's night! "Can we invite Rima?"
"Of course, the more the merrier! What about Ruka? She's okay once you get to know her."
"Hmm do what you want." I hummed, I'm not really a fan of her. "Can we head on down now?"
We made our way to the lobby and I was so happy to see Senri that I tackled hugged him. I wanted to show him how pretty I looked. I finally looked like I'm a good fit for him.
"You've always been a good fit for me no matter what you look like." He said out loud and twirled me around to get a better look at me.
"Do you like my lashes? I think they compliment my cheekbones or whatever October told me to say."
Que October facepalming in the background.
He placed his hand on my cheek and I nuzzled into it. And then I remembered how many people were in the lobby!
I opened my eyes and many of my classmates were staring so I started blushing and then put my hands on my face.
"Keep your hands off your face!" October reminded me of my makeup and once Takuma came down the stairs we headed outside to the Moon Dormitory's courtyard. There was a giant cake and many glasses with what I can only guess would be filled with blood tablets.
Takuma pulled me over to Aidou, and Candy Kain, "Can you guys stand at the entrance to escort Yuuki and Kiryuu. I wouldn't want the other classmates to harass my guests."
"You look really lovely tonight, Cassie." Candy Kain spoke to me while running a hand through his hair.
"Aww thanks Candy Kain! You look really dashing too," I cheerfully said while grinning.
"What about me?" Aidou pouted.
I would have responded with something sarcastic but I'm in a good mood tonight. "Handsome as always Aidou-kun."
There was a light breeze in the air. It was fast enough to push my hair over my shoulders.
"I see Shiki-san has bitten you again." Aidou stated the obvious, "it's not fair! I'm too good for blood tablets!"
"Hanabusa watch it. They're coming."
I could faintly hear footsteps approaching and we decided to meet them halfway. Yuuki had her Artemis out and Zero pointed his gun at Candy Kain.
"Would you put your gun away? Candy Kain is a really good guy!"
"What about me?!" Aidou screeched.
"You have your moments." I snickered at his pouting face and then grabbed Yuuki-chan's hand pulling her alongside me. "They're here to protect you guys from the other classmates. Almost everyone is outside for the soirée."
"Soirée?" She asked with confusion written all over her face.
Just as we arrived at the courtyard with the cake on display Takuma greeted them, "Welcome Yuuki and Kiryuu!" Takuma's bright glowly sunshine was gathered all around him. I love Takuma's atmosphere. "Tonight is my birthday! Please enjoy yourselves!"
"Oh. How old are you?"
"I'm 18 in vampire years. I'm a grown up now. For my birthday I want you and Cassie to kiss me."
This guy, I swear. I barked out a laugh and told him in his dreams.
"Actually we're here on business. I can't look the other way for you guys leaving school grounds without permission-"
"Yuuki, I had dad's permission. You can even ask him if you like." I shrugged my shoulders and then went to sit on the chaise lounge with Chaotic and October on the left side of the birthday cake. There were two chaise lounges, one here and one by the entrance to the courtyard.
They began the discussion on vampires and the whole pyramid thing. I knew all that because of Chaotic. Speaking of Chaotic I'm still not talking to him and he's gone to showing me his puppy face everytime I look at him.
Kaname suddenly appeared with Seiren by his side. He told Yuuki that he ordered Takuma to kill the Level E. He also told Yuuki to come sit next to him which she refused at first. Ruka looked so fucking pissed. It was hilarious. But she did eventually sit down with him and Kaname placed her side by side so close that she was basically laying against him. I cooed at her blushing face.
Then Kaname was explaining about something with Level Es. He was talking in a low tone so I could barely hear him. Zero mentioned something about a Hunter's job and next thing I knew Zero whipped out his gun and pointed it at Kaname's head.
The tension in the air was suffocating. I went to stand up but October stopped me. There was an orange bubble shielding Kaname and Yuuki from Zero's gun. That was the work of Chaotic. Seiren's hand had cut into Zero's neck to point he was bleeding and Ruka had to be held back so she wouldn't attack Zero. Seriously, does he have a death wish?
Everyone of the vampires took out a weapon. Which Kaname dismissed.
Aidou then admitted that everyone was there because Kaname asked them to. And apparently Yuuki didn't know that Kaname was a pureblood. Which left me confused. Am I the weird one because I can sense the vampires' levels? Maybe Kaito is right. I might be a descendant of a vampire hunter.
It seemed like Takuma could sense the tension and brightly reminded everyone that it was his birthday.
Everyone kinda went back to normal once Zero stood off to the side to guard Yuuki. I was finally able to leave October's side and went over to Senri asking him if he could get a piece of cake for me. I didn't want to leave too far from Chaotic's side. Just in case Mr. Gun Happy gets any funny ideas. Is it bad I almost whipped out my own weapon during that intense moment. I didn't even think I guess they were just instincts? This whole new side of me has me curious but cautious.
I watched as Senri went up to Takuma and asked for two pieces of cake. And then that stinker "accidentally" cut him and he licked up Takuma's blood. Which drove me wild watching Senri's tongue dance across the skin. I almost didn't notice Zero running off with Yuuki chasing after him. I wonder if the smell of blood triggered Zero. Did Senri planned that? No, I shouldn't think ill of my boyfriend. I was going to chase after the two but Chaotic stopped me. He mouthed "bad timing" and let go of me so I made my way over to Rima.
Ever since Senri announced that 'my blood was spoken for' much of the rest of the classmates left me alone. Some will wave every now and then but they won't linger for too long. I wonder if it's because they won't get anything from me. I have to say it made me feel a little used but I know who my true friends are.
"Hey Rima," I popped in front of her, she was hanging out next to Ruka. "October and I are going to have a girl's night on Sunday. She's going to bleach and dye my hair while we watch spooky movies. We were wondering if you'll join us? Ruka, you too can also come if ya like?"
"Of course it sounds like fun." Rima said and then turned towards Ruka, "you should come. Maybe Cassie and you will finally bond."
Ruka tossed her hair back and sighed. She actually agreed to come.
I stared in shock and just as I was about to say something a gunshot echoed through the air. I immediately and without thinking grabbed Rima and shield her.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry, hopefully I didn't mess up your hair." I took a step back, "I think gunshots are more of a threat to you guys than to humans here."
Rima was staring at me with wide eyes, "you wanted to protect me?"
"Of course you're one of my best friends. I gotta run now so I'll see you later."
I tried to run past Chaotic but he grabbed my hand and pulled me close. "Now is a bad time to go over-"
"I need to make sure everyone is safe-"
"Everyone involved in that area is safe. There's no need for you to go sticking your nose where it doesn't belong. Shiki, am I right? Cassie should stay here instead of going to find where the shooting came from?" Chaotic called attention to my boyfriend. That wasn't fair, obviously Senri would never allow me to go search for the source of the sound. Hell, I bet Chaotic knows where it took place since he looked like he's using a spy animal.
Ripping my arm out from Chaotic's grasp I spun around and crossed my arms across my chest.
Senri came up to me and cupped my cheek. In my mind I said, "Chaotic is on edge as if a hunter is present. I'm worried about Zero. I want to help-"
"And what are you going to do? What could you possibly do to help Kiryuu-san?"
I stayed silent. I hadn't thought that far ahead.
"I respect that you want to go help your friend but you need to accept that it is out of your hands now Cassie." Senri wiped the corner of my eyes. I hadn't realized that I started to cry.
"Do you want to go inside for a bit to warm up?" Senri mumbled out loud.
In response, I nodded and allowed him to take me inside where it was much warmer. We walked into the kitchen and then I held him tightly. I placed my cold nose against his warm neck where I could feel his heartbeat and weeped. Zero was falling into a Level E and there's nothing to do but wait. I know I haven't known him very long like Yuuki has but I grow attached to people so easily.
"Can we go cuddle?" I mumbled out and Senri led the way to my bedroom. We kicked off our shoes and kept the rest of our clothes on as we crawled underneath the covers. Next thing I know, I was fast asleep.

The next day the same old except I got to sleep in since I didn't have to train with Takuma today. So it was right around twilight when we started preparing for the switchover. When I say we, I just mean me and Yuuki. Zero was nowhere to be found.
"Yuuki, where's Zero?" The girls were starting to make their way to the gate.
"Um, he was sick today." Lies.
"I want you to meet with me after I get out of class please Yuuki? Don't go to bed without talking to me first, okay?" I was going to tell her that I knew about Zero but we had to make sure no one could hear us. I went back to the other side and guarded the girls as my classmates went by as per usual. And then headed for the classroom. The same routine everyday. I sat next to Senri and Rima since I was still mad at Chaotic. Senri was playing with Rima's water bottle cap on his finger when a different teacher walked in. My eyes grew wide as I noticed it was Toga Yagari.
"I'm going to be your temporary lecturer for this ethics class. Nice to meet you, vampires…and live bait."
I could feel eyes on me so I cocked an eyebrow and chuckled, "that's Miss Live Bait to you." I put my nose in the air. I didn't have to look at Chaotic to know he was facepalming.
Aidou mentioned that he was the number one hunter currently. And he figured out that Yagari-san was the one shooting last night.
"Relax, I'm just a teacher today. I even have a teacher certificate. However, no one told me there were two purebloods in the Night Class. What's your name?"
Chaotic stayed silent. However, his pureblood aura was very much on display.
Kaname spoke up saying that there must be a vampire among us that he wants to kill.
"Hello Kaname Kuran. My execution list is empty but if you fall asleep in my class I'll add you." Growls erupted through the classroom. The balls on this guy.
"I'll be careful, Sensei."

"Where is she? Everyone went back to the dorms. I would like to eat supper before bedtime, Yuuki!" I screamed her name out into the world. I'm so hungry, I forgot to bring lunch today.
Walking back to the Moon Dormitory I almost made it to the gate when I heard running footsteps approaching me. Quickly, I took out my weapon and braced myself only to find that it was Yuuki. "Yuuki-chan don't scare me like that!" I place my weapon back into my back pocket and lightly swat at her. She had a new bandage to her neck. It also looked like she just got outta the shower. "Yuuki, I've been waiting for you for hours and you decided it was a great time to take a shower? I would like to eat sometime tonight." I snapped and then apologized for my grumpiness.
"What did you want to talk about Cassie-chan?" she cocked her head to the side as she looked up at me.
I sighed before glancing around to make sure no one was around, "Yuuki, I know about Zero."
She began stuttering and pretending she had no idea what I'm talking about.
"I overheard what happened when you pointed Zero's gun at him that one day. I was going to return some tupperware when I came across you two." I glanced down at her neck, "that's Zero's bite marks isn't it? You don't have to say anything but just know I'm here for you if you or him need to vent? You're not alone Yuuki. Let me help take some weight off your shoulders."
She didn't say anything. She just continued to stare into my brown eyes until she started tearing up. Suddenly, she threw herself at me and sobbed into my uniform. I did what any big sister would do. I held her and was there for her.
