Chapter 72: Daring escape

It was nighttime. Two large armored vans were transporting certain League of Villains members from the courthouse to Tartarus prison. Their trials were conducted behind closed doors and they got sentences ranging from 10 years to a lifetime. As the vehicles moved across a bridge, a large portal appeared right in front of them. Four villains backed came out of it to bust out whoever was inside. Policemen took out their radios to request backup. Death Arms and two of his sidekicks ran forth to stop the bad guys. Unfortunately, their quirks weren't of much use. All three had variations of Super Strength, while their opposition could attack from range using animated cars and freaking lightning! Bullets shot by officers were deflected by razor sharp hair. As Pro Heroes were kept busy by the unknown perpetrators, the man with wolf head rushed to the back of the vans to tear open the doors. To his surprise, the prisoners already freed themselves from the restraints, knocked out the guards and aimed at him.

"Put the guns down. Shigaraki sent us here to bust you out." He gestured them to follow.

"An unnecessary move, but a pleasant one nonetheless." Compress hid his pistol into a marble before hiding in his shoe.

"I knew he would save us! That asshole will pay for leaving us behind in his camp!" Twice proclaimed.

"Let's get moving!" Spinner urged the others to move.

The other van door was torn apart from the inside. Muscular was covered in blood and his smile put everyone on edge. The villains escaped through another one of Kurogiri's portals, although the muscle villain gave thought to staying behind and fighting Death Arms.

Warp gate sent them to an abandoned warehouse, where Tomura has been waiting for them.

"I see the exhilaration mission has been a success." He paused the game on his hand held.

"Yes. These cretins are free. Now, you will hold your end of the bargain." Nine demanded.

"Of course. Kurogiri will escort you to Doctor's lab."

Four villains entered another portal, leaving Tomura with the rest of the League.

"Hi, everyone. As of now, your bans have been lifted."

"What is he talking about?" Sako wondered.

"So, I imagine the League has new plans to execute."

"Your imagination is right. Ever since Sensei kicked the bucket, LOV has been lacking in resources. There is a guy who we can coop with." He pulled out a photograph. "This guy is Kai Chisaki, leader of a Yakuza clan. We'll pretend to butter him up, do some gigs and then." The picture decayed in his hand. "You get the idea."

"What about the kid we were after?" Jin raised his hand, but the other one tried pulling it down.

"The cheater will pay in due time, but right now the level disparity is too high. We need to grind for a bit."

"Fuck that!" Goto brought everyone's attention. "I'm not kissing anyone's ass." He let out a maniacal laughter.

Everyone prepared to fight him, but he turned around to walk away.

"This is thanks for busting me out. Those guys let their guard down for a while because of you. If I ever see you again though…" He moved his thumb across his neck before exiting.

"Shigaraki, I must leave for some time too." Shuichi spoke. "I need to kill that blue skinned journo who dared to publicly insult Stain!"

"I see, grinding exp on side quests?" He smiled. "Fine. I'll tell Kurogiri to get you a new blade and drop you somewhere near her location."

"Thank you very much." Mutant bowed down.

"Do you need help? Of course you do, weakling!"

"I'm not a weakling!" Mutant frowned.

"Relax, Twice. She's just a low level scrub." Tomura waved dismissively. "Killing her should be easy."

"You mind telling us where the other members are, boss?"Atsuhiro asked.

"Mustard was put in a regular prison because he isn't old or experienced enough for Tartarus. Magne was apparently scheduled to transfer on a different day. Dabi and Moonfish are dead. That bitch Toga betrayed us!" Tomura's tone gained anger.

He tossed a newspaper towards Atsuhiro. The man read about Himiko's trial and everything that came before it.

"She must have made a plea bargain deal to get away with a lighter sentence."

"Well, if she did it for love, then I can't be mad at her."

"But I can." League leader said. "She and Mustard are kept in the same prison. When time comes, we'll bust the guy out and make sure the girl pays for stabbing us in the back!"

"What about Magne? Someone has to get her out. We don't need her!"

"It'll be much harder to attack another convoy without those four and the element of surprise. She'll have to wait."

"Do you mind telling us who those gentlemen and the lady were?"

"The guy white hair is doctor's test subject, others are his minions." Shigaraki grinned "I don't trust them enough to make them permanent party members.". "Anything else?"

"How did you know about our transfer? Do you have contacts in police?"

"I don't, but the Good Doctor has a few that were independent from Sensei's connections. At least, I think so. There has to be a reason why they weren't caught yet."

"May I go to the bathroom?"

"Just do it here. We won't watch, promise."

Shuichi Iguchi was transported to Deika city, where Kizuki Chitose had reportedly bought herself a new apartment. The building looked fancy. No doubt it would take a lot of money to live there. The kind of money that was inaccessible to unfortunate souls like the gecko man. Not that it was the reason he wanted to kill her.

"When I'm done with her, those UA brats will be next on the chopping block."

Breaking in would mean taking chances against whatever security was in the building. No, the smartest choice would be to wait outside, cut the woman and get out. The green skinned man took a deep breath. Patience was just as important in hunting down people as combat skills.

Curious exited the building to get to her car. Spinner took advantage of her being occupied with a phone call and sneaked up on her. Right as she approached the vehicle, a tanto pierced her torso from behind. She dropped her phone and saw sword's tip sticking from her belly.

"You will die for mixing Stain's honor with dirt!" Familiar voice told her. "Now..."

Boom!

The force from the explosion sent lilac hair forward and made her crash into her automobile. The impact caused her to bleed in several places. She slowly lost consciousness while hearing someone's screams.

"No, not like this! There are so many things in I'm curious about!"
