Chapter 33 Ape Rage

Moana walked over to the Bad Guys and the Punch Monkeys as she cast a glance back to Ruby and Chelsea who were barely conscious and being held by Jerry. She then glanced at Squint who now held her necklace. Gutt had given it to Squint before heading down to the clearing. Moana then glanced down at the clearing as Maui and Gutt made it down to face each other. She hoped Maui would be alright and win the fight and that Gutt would actually keep his word about giving back the treasure and hostages.
"You alright?" Asked Wolf.
"I am, but they stole my grandmother's necklace and I don't like Ruby and Chelsea being held captive." Said Moana.
"I know how you feel, but will get them back. I promise you that." Said Wolf.
"Thanks. And thanks for trading the key for me. I know it was important to you." Said Moana.
"Don't worry about it." Said Webs.
"Looks like the action is about to begin! This is going to be good!" Said Piranha in excitement.
Maui and Gutt circled each other with their weapons drawn. Gutt had his bony swordfish sword and Maui had his hook. Maui was a bit mad about not being allowed to shapeshift for the fight, but he was confident that his strength and combat skills and experience would help him beat Gutt. The two circled each other a little more and then Gutt leaped forward swinging his weapon at Maui who blocked it with his hook. The two fighters pressed up against each other and then Maui shoved Gutt back. Gutt recovered and charged back at Maui and did a flip over him and tried to strike him from behind, but Maui quickly rolled out of the way. Maui quickly got up and rushed at Gutt swinging his hook at him forcing the monster to leap back to avoid getting hit. Gutt leaped forward and kicked Maui in the face knocking him back. Maui quickly recovered and punched Gutt in the face knocking him back.
"Not bad, but I have a few tricks up my sleeve." Said Gutt as he gripped his sword with both hands and then he pulled with all his might splitting the sword down the middle and turning the sword into two swords.
"Now that just feels like cheating." Said Maui.
"It's not. This is still the sword I had before." Said Gutt before he charged at Maui swinging his blades.
Maui quickly retreated backwards to try and put a little space between him and Gutt, but Gutt proved to be quicker then Maui had anticipated and closed the space quickly forcing Maui to go on the defensive. Gutt swung his blades wildly and Maui managed to block most of the blows with his large hook, but a few swipes got by inflicting some small shallow cuts on Maui's arms that weren't too serious, but Maui knew that eventually the wounds Gutt inflected would take their tow. Maui managed to deflect a blow from one of Gutt's blades and then he hit him with the curved side of his hook knocking him to the ground. The demigod tried to attack Gutt, while he was down, but Gutt rolled out of the way and switched his swords to his feet. Now Gutt was walking on his hands as his feet held his swords and he charged at Maui swinging the blades.
"Now you're just showing off!" Complained Maui as he retreated back from Gutt.
As the fight was going on Moana was trying to figure out a way to rescue her captive friends and get her necklace back. Moana realized she couldn't do that on her own, so she turned to the Bad Guys for help.
"Well most of that crew over there is distracted by the fight." Said Wolf.
"I can probably help sneak up on some of those guys and provide a distraction or trip them up with my webs." Said Webs.
"That could be helpful, but some of those Minions are incredibly dangerous. They got powers from some potions that were made with Ruby's blood." Said Moana.
"You don't say." Said Snake.
Shark sniffed the air a bit loudly and he turned to a area near Moana and narrowed his eyes.
"Piranha we got a little spy. Why don't you say hello." Said Shark pointing to the area near Moana.
"On it." Said Piranha cracking his knuckles.
Before Moana could say or ask what was going on Piranha punched the air and his fist loudly struck something and then a small cloud of dust was kicked up as something hit the ground. Moana blinked her eyes in surprise and then gasped as she remembered that the Mega Minion Gus had the power to turn invisible! The Minion had been spying on her and the Bad Guys!
Webs shot some of her webs onto the down Gus making him a bit more visible and easier to locate.
"So we caught this guy, can we exchange him for Ruby or Chelsea?" Asked Moana.
"We could try, but from what I can see from that crew, they don't care if they lose a guy or two even if that crew member has a special power. They're not going to exchange one of their hostages for this guy." Said Wolf.
"So what's the plan then?" Asked Moana.
"You and Webs focus on getting the necklace back and rescuing the others." Said Wolf.
"I'll be your stand in, encase any of those guys look back at us." Said Shark before he changed into Moana.
The real Moana nodded her head in thanks and then she and Webs snuck off to rescue the two captive princesses and get the necklace back.
Down below Gutt grew tired of fighting with his feet and switched back to his hands as he tried leaping around and jumping off the walls and rocks to get at Maui. This forced Maui to jump and roll to avoid getting hit as he thought up a counter plan. Gutt jumped off a wall and flung himself at Maui, who dropped onto his back and kicked his legs up striking Gutt in the belly sending him flying and crashing into rock with a crash knocking his swords out of his hands.
"Now I got you." Said Maui closing in on Gutt.
Gutt surprised Maui by quickly jumping to his feet and swung his claws at Maui and left some scratch marks on Maui's chest making Maui shout in both pain and surprise as he reeled back.
"You want to know why they call me Gutt? It's because I like to gut my enemies!" Laughed Gutt before he reclaimed one of his swords and went after Maui with both it and his clawed freed hand.
"You really have issues pal." Said Maui as he went back on the defensive.
Moana and Webs were sneaking over to Gutt and Dave's group, when some Punch Monkeys joined them. Webs chatted with the Punch Monkeys and then spoke to Moana.
"They say they want to help us." Said Webs.
"Great. So what's the plan?" Said Moana.
"I'm going to get us some weapons to help." Said Webs as she began crawling up the cave wall.
Webs reaching the ceiling and then she lowered herself down and got behind some Kakamoras who looking down at the fight, so they didn't notice Webs steal their blowpipes. She then returned to Moana and the Punch Monkeys and gave them the blowpipes. Moana and the Punch Monkeys crept up on Squint. The first mate had wandered a few yards away from the rest of the crew to get a better view of the fight. Moana took careful aim and blew on the blowpipe. The dart flew out and struck Squint in the back. Squint fell to the ground without anyone noticing him. Webs rushed over and quickly took the necklace away from Squint without any of the crew seeing the tiny monster. She quickly returned to Moana and gave her back the necklace.
"Thanks now let's go get our friends." Said Moana.
"Going to be a bit tough. The darts won't work on that big rock guy and he's standing close to the others." Said Webs.
"We need to distract them and figure out a way to knock down that big guy." Said Moana.
One of the Punch Monkeys pulled out a sling and handed it to Moana. Then the Punch Monkeys went over to some more Punch Monkeys and then they began screeching and shouting throwing a few rocks and shooting some darts at the the pirates getting their attention of the crew and drawing some away from Jerry's side. Moana took the opportunity to use the sling and rushed at Jerry and hurled a rock at Jerry sticking him in the eye the one area that wasn't protected by rocky skin and the blow made the monster shout in pain and drop Ruby and Chelsea. Jerry stumbled back clutching his eye as Moana ran over and helped Ruby up to her feet pulling the dart out of her. Wolf ran over and helped Chelsea up and pulled the dart from her. Moana and Wolf quickly helped their recovering friends over to the rest of the Bad Guys as the Punch Monkeys kept the pirates and monsters at bay by throwing rocks at them.
Down below Maui deflected a sword blow from Gutt with his hook and caught Gutt's clawed hand before he headbutted him in the face stunning him. Maui then grabbed Gutt and began spinning him around and hurled him with all his might and smashed him into a wall. Gutt crashed to the ground and tried to get up, but then fell back to the ground groaning.
"Yeah! Another victory for Maui!" Cheered Maui in victory as he thruster his hook in the air.
Moana and her friends cheered for Maui as the pirates booed in anger. It seemed like everything was going to be ok. Unfortunately there was still one big threat to deal with.
Deeper within the mountain the great beast known as the Spiny Mandrilla woke from it's slumber and sniffed the air becoming aware of several strangers in it's territories. The beast let out a roar as it began moving to take on whoever dared invade it's mountain.
