Agent Walker sat in his office, the paperwork gradually growing by the second, every time he filled out one stupid form another took its place. He just wanted to live his life playing video games, inventing to his heart's content, instead, he got stuck with this shitty hand. He threw the papers into the floor, his nostrils flaring. A shudder was behind him and another piece of crisp paper plopped down, taunting him.

Everything in his body told him this wasn't him, but who was he? Who was he in the past before being an agent for the Administration?

"Agent Walker, return to your post, immediately." a cold synthesized voice echoed behind him. "Countdown will begin in five secooonndsss."

Electricity rippled through the screen, the glare from its light shining across Jay's face as he looked away from the screen.

"No, Agent Walker will not return to his post." He whispered, shorting out the system in his office and walking away.

With the cost clear he configured the panel to activate the return system, he scrolled through the options, and one called out to him the Dark Island. It was massive and seemed to connect to a number of different places. Just as he passed through the portal alarms blared, and once he was on the other side the portal quickly dissipated.

He breathed in the fresh air on the beach, freedom was at hand finally. He stretched his aching back, enjoying the feeling of the sun shining across his body.

There was a sneeze behind him, and he spun around, a small girl with red hair. She was glaring at him, hiding behind a rock, with what appeared to be a glowing blaster.

"You're not imperian," she whispered, her finger hovering over the trigger.

"No I'm not," he raised his hands, as he analyzed the young girl's face. "But you are?"

She nodded, never releasing the hold on the weapon.

"Why don't you lower the weapon thingy, and we can talk this out?" All he needed was a moment of weakness and he'll blast it out of her hands. "Where are your parents? Are they out here as well?"

Tears began to flow down the young girl's face, and a pang of guilt hit the agent hard.

"No they're not, all they care about is looking for that stupid girl!" sobs began to form in her words.

"I'm sure they're looking for you," he tried to speak softly, awkwardness flowing through him. "Why don't you tell me what's going on and I might be able to help, okay?"

The girl sobbed and told Agent Walker about how the soldiers of Imperium were searching for some girl named Ana who ran away, and her parents were in the military, and how they never had time for her, so she wanted them to search for her rather than her rival. Walker approached the girl and was finally close enough to pat her head while taking the gun from her.

But now he faced a new problem, he couldn't exactly abandon her, but he couldn't stay in one area, the other agents would be able to quickly track him down.

"Tell you what kid," He picked her up and set her on his shoulders. "While we wait for your parents to track you down and come to their senses, will you travel with me?"

"Hmph, fine." she sniffled.

Walker nodded and started walking along the shoreline, a new responsibility that was even heavier on his shoulders now.
