Author's Note:

Hello everyone! Here's the next chapter for Earth's Mightiest Huntsmen! Hope this finds y'all since it seems like the site is on the fritz again. But before we get back to it, let's answer some reviews!

Mobian: Let's hope not. But I think Ruby may just be overall happy to finally be reunited with her sister.

metroplex07: I do have plans for a visit to Wakanda that will be coming sooner than you think, though that doesn't necessarily mean that it will be a Wakanda centric arc.

SulliMike23: Hope you enjoy them! Making superhero costumes-especially for characters that aren't my own-isn't my strong suit, so I hope I did a good job here. And even if they're bad or badly described, well...there's always costume upgrades.

Monster King: I have no plans of stopping work on this story simply if RWBY is cancelled after RT shuts down. The only thing that will change will just be me imagining what would have been for points where I would need it. But there is still hope the series will continue. If I heard correctly from the RWBY stream they had last week, they are in talks with others to continue the series, and the talks are going well. Keep your fingers crossed!

Blackmetalzane22: Yeah, there are tons of heroes on Earth that could get Yang's memory back. But I do have a plan for what actually happens, and, with any luck, most of y'all will enjoy what goes down. But we still got a little ways to go before that happens.

Brian H.H: No worries! I've gone on rants before for certain moments that I dislike. Plus, the constructive criticism certainly helps me out as well.

Ironchef13: I do have plans for Penny, though it'll be a while before I can implement them. As for your suggestion, as much as I'd like to commission some artwork, I sadly can't spend the money required due to certain costs that I have pour most of my money into (cough cough student loans cough cough).

Red Scorpion: I'll say this much-it won't be that easy. If she remembered Ruby instantly, it wouldn't be much of a consequence, and thus wouldn't really be much of a plot point.

Crossovernaru: Glad you're enjoying this story so far! Rocket does seem a bit more like his MCU version now that I think about it. As for Hulk, I can say that he is coming very soon (within the next 10 chapters) but sadly will not be involved in this battle. There are reasons for that, which I will get into once it's time for his grand debut. And, as for Deadpool, I currently don't have plans for him. Not because I don't like the character-I love Deadpool. But given his unique nature and fourth wall breaking abilities, it makes him very difficult to implement into a fanfic.

Jeremy Steinmark: I not going to answer any questions regarding shipping one way or another. You're just going to have to wait and see how romance is played out.

Thank you all for your continued support. Now, let's get back to the action.

The Baxter Building—November 2nd

"Sun's coming up, Reed," Ben warned. "I hope you've got a plan to close that portal for good."

Reed barely even registered his friend as he worked on his new device. "I'm well aware of the stakes, Ben," he said bluntly, tightening a bolt.

"No need to take my head off, Reed," Ben said back. "But you know that Stark will be calling any minute now wanting to know what you've got, and you know how he gets in situations like this."

Reed didn't respond to that; he simply finished tightening the bolt on the large sphere he had created and stretched his arm over to the other side of the lab, grabbing his scanner and bringing it back to him. He took some quick readings to make sure everything was built correctly.

"I think that should do it," he announced, putting the scanner down.

"About time," Johnny commented from the side, lying on a couch with a pair of sunglasses over his eyes. "So, what suicidal exploits are we going to have to pull off this time?"

"You say that like we always go on suicide missions."

"We kinda do, Stretch," Ben reminded him. "It's always 'go fight Doctor Doom" or "stop Galactus from eating the Earth.'"

Reed pushed his welding goggles above his eyes. "Calm down. This mission will not nearly be as perilous as our previous exploits."

"Oh yeah?" Johnny challenged. "Just what do we have to do?"

"We know that Annihilus opened the portal from the Negative Zone," Reed explained. "But no doubt this was done by tearing open the fabric of space time. So, all we have to do is travel into the Negative Zone and activate this device. It should repair this tear and close the portal."

"Oh, is that all?" Johnny asked.

"Yes, Johnny. That is all we have to do."

Johnny rolled his eyes. "You understand what you're saying, right? We gotta go into the Negative Zone, fight through even more bugs, and probably have to blast through Annihilus himself—just to close an interdimensional tear in the fabric of space time?"

"Good, you understand the mission," Reed confirmed.

"Why can't we just use your little doohickey and close this portal on our end?"

"Because we need to see just how Annihilus was able to open this portal—and thus, be able to ensure that he won't be able to open it again," Reed answered. "Tears like this in the fabric of reality can lead to even bigger problems for the universe. We must ensure that he cannot just simply reopen the portal at a later date and time."

"Whatever you say, Reed." Johnny took off his sunglasses and tossed them aside. "So, are we going to get this party started, or not?"

"First, we must contact the Avengers to let them know of the plan." Reed turned his head slightly. "H.E.R.B.I.E., please radio Avengers Mansion."

A floating robot with a rectangular head gave him a salute. "Right away, sir," he said.

Avengers Mansion—November 2nd

"So, you're going into the Negative Zone?" Tony asked.

"Unfortunately," Reed confirmed. "It's the only way to be sure that we stop this from happening again."

"Need any backup?"

"The energy field that I enacted over the portal on our end will break within the hour, Tony. You're going to need everyone you can to keep the Annihilation Wave contained. Ben, Susan, Johnny, and I can handle Annihilus."

"Are you sure about that?"

"We've handled worse threats than him. Besides, we don't need to beat him. We just need to complete our mission and escape back through to Earth. We can hold Annihilus off for that long."

"And by "we," he really means us," Johnny's voice came through.

"Well, if you're sure, then get it done."

"We'll take care of it. Just do what you have to do on this side. It won't get any easier fighting off the wave though—expect Annihilus to send in a few warships."

"Fury's got the Helicarrier near the portal if that happens, along with several squadrons of fighters and Quinjets," Tony told him. "Any heavy weaponry that comes through is going to get turned to ash."

Reed nodded. "Good luck, Tony." With that, he ended the call. Tony turned away from the terminal as Steve and T'Challa entered.

"What's the evacuation status at?" he asked.

"80% of the city has been evacuated," T'Challa answered. "We've gotten whoever's left and moved them underground."

"Nearly every available hero in New York is on standby," Steve added. "The Defenders are covering the Hell's Kitchen area, the X-Men are stationed in Westchester, and we've got other Avengers at key points around the city."

"Are the S.H.I.E.L.D. checkpoints online?"

"All S.H.I.E.L.D. checkpoints are operational," T'Challa confirmed. "Fury is coordinating from the Helicarrier. Agent Coulson is the field leader on the ground."

"Does Reed have a solution?" Steve asked.

"He and the rest of the FF are heading into the Negative Zone to close that portal," Tony reported. "We just have to hold the Annihilation Wave off long enough for them to do that."

"That will not be an easy task." T'Challa crossed his arms over his chest. "Even with all our allies together, we will still be outnumbered."

"Doesn't matter," Steve told him. "We're still going to fight for as long as we can. As long as we can keep them contained to New York, we can keep the destruction from spreading out."

"Fifteen minutes until barrier breach," F.R.I.D.A.Y. warned.

Tony lowered his faceplate. "Time to move out, Avengers. Let's go save the world."

Remnant HQ—November 2nd

Ruby finished slipping on her gloves and stopped to look at herself in her mirror. Tony had designed her outfit well. It was dark, with red highlights, with a pair of tight, knee-high red combat boots and a pair of red gloves that stretched almost up to her elbows. A red belt with her insignia wrapped around her waist, and her red cloak draped around her, as usual.

The last part of the outfit was a pair of square, red tinted goggles, which she fastened around her head. She flipped her hood up at looked at herself in the mirror. She was barely recognizable as the young huntress in training that she had been on Remnant. Now she was something more—a superhero fighting to save another world from total annihilation.

She slowly walked towards where Crescent Rose was laying against the wall. She reached out to it, tracing the blade with her hand. Once again, flashes of what she had done to Weiss with it ran through her head. She slowly pulled her hand back as it started to tremble.

She thought about what Jessica had told her. "If you let this beat you—if you wallow in your guilt and sorrow, then that bastard's already won. Bounce back from this, show that you are far stronger than Mesmero ever could be. Prove to him that he hasn't beaten you. When you've done that…I think you'll be okay."

Ruby took a deep breath. Closing her eyes, she reached her hand out again and, finally, managed to grab her weapon from the wall. When she did, she opened her eyes and looked down at it. To her surprise, she was filled with a huge sense of relief to be reunited with her beloved weapon, like a huge weight was being lifted from her shoulders.

"No more being afraid of this," she thought, folding Crescent Rose up and clipping it to her back. "I'm not going to let Mesmero beat me."

She opened the door to her room and headed out to the living room, where she met her friends. Weiss, Nora, and Ren were also now dressed in their superhero costumes as well.

"Well, look at you," Logan commented as he lingered in the corner, taking a drink from a bottle of beer. "You look like you're ready for some combat."

Ruby flinched slightly as Penny's voice rang through her head. "I am combat ready!" She hoped that her friend was still alive and fighting against Ultron.

"I have to admit…these turned out better than I thought," Weiss commented. She had a light blue outfit that covered her entire body, with silver boots and gloves and a white mask that covered the top of her head, stretching down over her eyes and leaving light blue eyeholes. Her own insignia was emblazoned on her left shoulder.

"Well, I think we look amazing," Nora agreed. Unlike the others, her costume seemed a little bulkier and more heavily armored, with plates of pink and white armor running down her form. Her armored knuckles also sparked with a slight electric charge, and she wore a helmet that covered her head and eyes. Her eyes were covered with yellow eyeholes that were shaped like lightning bolts, and her insignia, which was on her back, glowed with energy.

Ren simply lingered off to the side. He was dressed in all black, with green highlights running down his joints and a black-green mask that covered his entire head. To Ruby, he looked a little like the ninjas that she had been reading about while on Earth.

"Are you okay, Ruby?" Weiss asked her.

Ruby nodded. "I'm fine. Are we ready to move out?"

Blake nodded. "According to Phyllis, that energy field keeping the Annihilation Wave out is going to break shortly. We're needed at Central Park to join up with the S.H.I.E.L.D. team there."

Ruby looked around. "Where are Pyrrha and Jaune?"

"Miss Nikos and Mister Arc are both presently on the roof," Phyllis reported. "Shall I ask them to come down?"

"No, that's okay, Phyllis," Ruby said, heading for the elevator. "I'll get them myself."

"We'll meet you down on the street, kid," Logan told her as she passed.

Ruby gave him a nod, entering the elevator and riding it up to the roof. When she got out, she heard both Pyrrha and Jaune talking in low voices. Quickly, she ducked behind the elevator shaft, peeking out awkwardly and watching as her two friends talked, sitting on the edge of the roof and facing the first glimmers of the sunrise.

"I just don't know how I feel about all this," Jaune was saying. He was holding his sword, looking at his reflection in it. "These creatures…they're nothing like the Grimm. They're flesh and blood, just like humans. And, yeah, I know that we have to kill them to save Earth. I know that these…things are nothing more than animals. But still…it feels…off with what we have to do."

Ruby saw Pyrrha put a hand on his shoulder. "I know how you feel, Jaune," she admitted. "When I was in the arena on Sakaar, I had to fight many different alien creatures to survive. In the moment, I was just doing what I had to do to live. The Grandmaster wanted me to kill my opponents—not just the creatures, but the sentient beings as well. Kree, Skrull, Xandarian, Shi'ar—it didn't matter. If you entered his arena, you were fighting to the death."

Jaune was quiet for a moment. "Did…you—"

"Only the monsters," Pyrrha answered. "I think the Grandmaster knew there would be problems if he tried to force me to kill the other gladiators. All he cared about were the games and how much money he made off them. But I still wonder…could I have done it if he forced me to? And how would I live with myself afterwards?"

"So…what do we do?" Jaune eventually asked.

"What we have to do in order to protect this world," she answered calmly. "Just like what we would do if an attack like this came for Remnant. We fight."

Jaune slowly nodded. "I'm glad you're here, Pyrrha. I…can't imagine what it'd be like if I lost you."

Pyrrha moved closer, giving Jaune a small hug. "You're a good person, Jaune. Always remember that, no matter what happens."

Ruby decided it was time to stop eavesdropping and show herself. She stepped out from behind her hiding spot and walked over to them. "It's time to go," she announced.

Her two friends stood up. "Alright then," Jaune said. "Let's go save the world."

Central Park—November 2nd

The park was swarming with S.H.I.E.L.D. agents when Ruby and the others arrived. Many of them had set up fortifications backed with large gun turrets, while others had set up metal structures to act as sniper posts. A few trucks, each with a gun turret on the back, were lined up in the grass, their guns aimed straight at the portal high in the sky.

"So, uh…what do we do now?" Nora asked.

"We find the S.H.I.E.L.D. officer in charge of this camp," Ruby decided. "He'll tell us where to go."

"But who's in charge here?" Jaune asked.

"That would be me." Another jeep stopped behind them, and a brown haired agent got out.

Pyrrha broke out into a smile. "Hello, Agent Coulson."

"Miss Nykos, Miss Belladonna. A pleasure to see you again." He turned to the others. "We haven't been formally introduced yet. Phil Coulson."

"Nice to meet you," Ruby said, shaking his hand. "I'm Ruby. You've already met Blake and Pyrrha. This is Weiss, Jaune, Nora, and Ren."

"Nice to meet all of you," Coulson told them all. "But I'm afraid we're going to have to cut the pleasantries short. That energy field sealing the portal off will collapse any minute. We need everyone in position."

"Where do you want us?" Jaune asked.

"I need sharpshooters on those towers, shields towards our heavy weapons, and fighters at the front lines," Coulson told them. "When that field drops, the Annihilation Wave will spread out all throughout a city. They'll hit us fast and hard, and we need to be ready for it."

Ruby looked at her friends. "I think I can take one of the sniper posts," she decided.

"I can stay back to defend the heavy weapons," Jaune offered.

"You're going to need help," Pyrrha warned. "I'll go with you."

"Then the rest of us will head up to the front of the camp and defend it," Weiss decided.

Coulson nodded. "Sounds like a plan. Get to your stations." He went to the back of the jeep he had arrived on and pulled out a case. He opened it up and pulled out a massive gun, which powered up with orange energy when he activated it.

"What does that one do?" Nora asked.

Coulson smirked. "You'll see."

The Remnantians exchanged looks with one another. "Any last words of encouragement?" Nora asked.

"Earth took us in," Ruby said after a moment. "We're not going to let it fall. Let's make it happen."

"Yeah!" Nora cheered, already running off. "Let's do this!"

"Nora, wait!" Ren called, chasing after her, with Weiss and Blake close behind them.

Ruby, meanwhile, ran to the nearest sniper post and climbed to the top. From there, she had a good view of the area, as well as the portal. She pulled Crescent Rose out and took aim at it, zooming in as close as she could with her scope.

"Hello, Miss Rose."

Ruby yelped, nearly dropping her weapon. "Phyllis?"

"Affirmative. I see that you've gotten your new costumes from Mister Stark. There are special items about each of your suits that you should know about. Would you like me to run a tutorial program?"

Ruby blinked. "I…don't think we really have time for a tutorial, Phyllis. Just tell me what I've got."

"Affirmative. Mister Stark has equipped your goggles with a special angle tracker that will calculate the perfect momentum and trajectory that you should go on while using your Semblance. This will provide maximum movement across a battlefield. Just press the button on the side of your goggles to activate this system."

Ruby nodded. "Thanks, Phyllis."

She put her eye against the scope and looked up at the portal. The shield over it was flickering rapidly and, as Ruby watched it, eventually vanished completely. A few seconds later, what could only be described as a massive wave of death began to stream through.

"They're coming!" she yelled. The words were barely out of her mouth when a loud air raid siren began to blare.

Whoosh! Several Quinjets flew overhead, directly towards the Annihilation Wave. A barrage of missiles launched from them, blowing the frontal wave of the enemy apart. The sky erupted into flames and laser fire as the two sides clashed in the air.

Streams of creatures spread out from the portal, heading in multiple directions. A large swath of this was heading right for Central Park.

Ruby quickly took aim and began firing, taking down multiple creatures one after the other. The S.H.I.E.L.D. officers on the ground and in the other sniper towers began doing the same But it wasn't long before Annihilus' forces began landing on the ground, clashing with the forces there.

Ruby fired another few blasts from Crescent Rose, trying to take out the creatures as best she could. But she hoped that the Fantastic Four could enact their plan and close the portal before they were overwhelmed.

The Negative Zone—November 2nd (Earth Time)

The surrounding space glowed a faint orange in the distance as the Fantasti-Car flew through the Negative Zone. As usual, there didn't seem to be anything living nearby. But that was probably because almost everything that did live in the Negative Zone was currently trying to get to Earth.

"Where exactly are we going?" Johnny asked.

Reed tapped a scanner in the vehicle. "The Fantasti-Car's tracker will home in on the largest concentration of life forms in the Negative Zone. That's where Annihilus will be."

"Right. Fly straight into the swarm of angry alien monsters that want to eat us for breakfast. What could possibly go wrong?"

"What did you think this was going ta be, flame brain?" Ben asked. "A pleasure cruise?"

"Hey, watch it, rock head!" Johnny shot back.

"Boys!" Susan snapped. "Quit arguing and focus! We have a job to do."

"I've picked up the trail," Reed announced, turning the wheel on the Fantasti-Car and flying off in the right direction. "Based on these readings, Annihilus and his portal are located in a dense asteroid field, possibly the remains of one of the planets that used to exist within the Negative Zone."

"And just how long will it take for us to get there?" Johnny asked.

Reed tapped a few more buttons. "Best estimate: an hour."

"An hour?!"

"Keep in mind that, in the Negative Zone, time moves much faster," Reed reminded him. "An hour in here does not equal an hour on Earth."

"Great." Johnny leaned back in his seat. "This is going to be a long trip."

Central Park—November 2nd

"So I've been thinking about superhero names."

Ren sliced through a creature. "I don't think now's really the best time for that, Nora."

Nora smacked a larger creature with Magnhild before quickly converting it to its grenade launcher form and firing several shots that finished it off. "I was thinking about Shockhammer," she went on, seeming to not even notice Ren's comment. "It's cool and it sums up what I can do."

Ren aimed StormFlower and shot down an enemy that had been flying directly at Nora. "If that's what you want to be called—" he started.

"And you can be called Quickstrike!" Nora added. "Because you strike quickly!"

"Are you two seriously discussing hero names while we're fighting for our lives here?!" Weiss questioned.

Blake swung her blades around, eventually decapitating another one of the creatures. "I think it's more of a case of Nora discussing them," she noted.

"Hey, now's a good of time as any!" Nora protested.

"Not when we're dealing with a legion of flesh-eating monsters!" Weiss exclaimed.

"Okay, I think I know what your superhero name would be," Nora decided. "I think you're totally going to be called Ice Queen."

"Wha—that is completely unfair!" Weiss stamped her foot and stabbed another creature.

A massive orange energy beam shot past the four of them, piercing through an entire line of the Annihilation Wave. "Argue about codenames later," Agent Coulson suggested, his massive rifle already powering up for another shot. "Focus on the here and now."

Nora sighed. "Fine." She turned her attention back to the fight just as a swarm of the creatures crashed into her, nearly covering her completely.

"Nora!" Ren rushed in to help, but before he could get there, a large electrical pulse coming from Nora's body—or rather, her armor—blasted all the creatures aside.

She let out a laugh. "I love the electric pulse generator Tony put in this armor!" She switched Magnhild back to its war hammer form and ran straight at the next group of the Annihilation Wave.

"She's having way too much fun with this," Weiss commented.

"What did you expect?" Blake pointed out. "It's Nora."

Weiss thought about it for a moment. "Fair enough."

A volley of explosions brought their attention to the skies. Several Quinjets, now on fire and in pieces, were spiraling out of control, heading straight for the ground. This latest assault came courtesy of several smaller warships, roughly the size of the Quinjets, which were all engaged in a furious dogfight with the remaining Quinjets, along with a few smaller shapes that were most likely other heroes.

"This is insane," Blake said aloud, staring up at the sky in horror as creatures, fighter jets, and explosions dotted the entire skyline.

"Stick to the plan," Weiss told her. "We just need to hold out long enough for that portal to close."

"Do you think they can get it done?"

Weiss hesitated. "We're just going to have to hope they can. I haven't met the Fantastic Four personally yet, but they were supposedly the first superhero team on Earth. They know what they're doing."

"We got more incoming on the way!" Ruby announced through the comms. "A lot more!"

Weiss and Blake looked up in the direction of the portal, where a much larger swarm was quickly flying in their direction. This swarm included mostly the smaller creatures, but also a bunch of the larger ones as well as a few large speeders that contained even more enemies.

"How big is this Annihilation Wave?" Blake asked in astonishment.

"Big enough to destroy entire civilizations," Logan answered. "If you believe all the stories, they could potentially even destroy the sun. Especially if Annihilus himself makes it through."

"Will he?" Weiss asked.

"If Richards and his family don't keep his attention…yeah, I reckon he will. If he does, let the Avengers handle him. Annihilus is way out of your league."

"You didn't have to say it like that," Jaune spoke up.

"I mean it, kid," Logan said in response. "You aint ready for Annihilus. None of you are. Just stay focused on the small fry and let guys like Stark and Thor take him on."

Nora's laugh echoed over the gunfire and the stead booming of the heavier weapons as she flew up several feet to smack Magnhild straight into the head of one of the larger creatures, smashing it straight into the ground. But behind this larger creature was an even larger swarm, all descending upon Central Park like locusts, blasting S.H.I.E.L.D. agents aside or literally tearing them apart. "Somehow," Weiss said, "I don't think that'll be a problem."

S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier—November 2nd

Fury winced as the Helicarrier rocked with another explosion. "Give me a status report!" he barked.

"All defense zones are under heavy fire!" Maria Hill reported. "Time Square and Central Park divisions are requesting reinforcements!"

"26% of our air defenses are down!" Agent Brand added.

Fury grunted in frustration. "Come on, Stretch," he growled. "How hard is it to close a damn portal?"

Crash! The front window of the Helicarrier bridge shattered as one of the creatures burst it. It let out a screech and aimed a rifle directly at where Fury was standing. Without even looking, Fury pulled his sidearm out and shot it right through the head, killing it instantly.

"The Wave is diverting more resources to attack the Helicarrier!" Hill reported.

"Increase defense cannon firing patterns!" Fury ordered. "If they want a fight, we'll give them one they won't forget."

"Director!" Brand yelled suddenly. "Sensors are picking up a ship entering the system!"

Fury cursed. "Just what we need; a visit from aliens."

"The ship is hailing us!"

Fury gripped his command post as the Helicarrier rocked with another explosion. "Put it through!"

A moment later, a voice came through the comms terminal. "Attention, defenders of Earth. This is Star-Lord. The Guardians of the Galaxy are here to assist."

Fury shot a look at Brand. "Put me through to that ship!"

Brand nodded and pushed some buttons. When she gave a nod to him, Fury began to speak. "Quill! That you?!"

"It's me, Fury," Star-Lord confirmed. "What's the situation?"

"Annihilus has got his forces coming through a portal over New York!" Fury explained quickly. "We've got people in the Negative Zone trying to shut it down, but they need more time!" He tapped some buttons on his command console. "I'm sending you data about our fortifications! Any assistance you can give them is greatly appreciated!"

"Understood. I'll deploy the Guardians once we get there. ETA, two minutes."

Fury stumbled again as another explosion rocked the Helicarrier. "Do you really think the Guardians can turn the tide?!" Brand asked.

"This aint a battle we can win, Brand!" Fury told her. "The Annihilation Wave will overwhelm us sooner or later, unless Richards can close that damn portal! The only thing we can do is keep fighting and hope that we can hold out long enough!"

Another creature flew in through the smashed window, but was instantly gunned down by Fury once more. "Get it done, Richards," Fury thought grimly. "We aint going to last much longer."

The Milano—Currently above New York City.

"It's too dangerous to land," Flash yelled as he, Yang, Rocket, and Groot entered the back of the Milano. "We're going to have to do an ariel drop,"

"Through a sea of Annihilation creatures!?" Rockey exclaimed. "Great!"

"I am Groot," Groot pointed out.

"Groot's right," Yang agreed. "You've probably done crazier things than this."

"That aint the flarking point!"

"How about we get down there instead of complaining about dropping into a warzone?" Flash suggested.

"Fine!" Rocket pulled a lever on the side, and the boarding ramp into the ship lowered, instantly showing a warzone going on in the sky as the Annihilation Wave battled Earth's defenders. Airships were falling from the sky, skyscrapers were burning, and little explosions dotted the brightening sky.

"Well? What are we waiting for?" Yang activated her helmet. "See you on the ground!" With a snappy salute, she jumped off the ramp and into the sky, quickly falling out of sight.

"Was she wearing a rocket pack?" Flash asked.

Rocket gave him a look. "Does she ever?"

He thought about it for a moment. "Good point."

As she descended through the sky, Yang activated her music player, and soon, "Kickstart My Heart" began blaring at full volume. She shot down like a rocket, heading straight for the nearest swarm of the bug-like creatures that made up the Annihilation Wave. She extended her gauntlet blades and slammed straight into the closest one, stabbing straight through it before blowing him apart with a quick shot from her gauntlets.

The force of the blast shot her up several feet again, right into the middle of another flying swarm of creatures. All of them took aim at her and fired. With laser blasts shooting by her, Yang quickly aimed her gauntlets in front of her and fired, rocketing back towards the ground while also killing two more of the creatures in the process.

Now up to speed again, she twisted her body around so she was falling face first. Aiming behind her, she fired another few shots, propelling herself even faster. As she saw another swarm, she twisted around and fired another few shots so she was flying directly at it. Two of the creatures tried to latch onto her, but she spun around and decapitated them both in one fluid motion.

One of the human ships plummeted by her, five different creatures hanging onto it, trying to break into the cockpit. Yang quickly directed herself to it. She grabbed onto the nose of the vehicle and flipped herself up, kicking one off instantly and stabbing another in the shoulder. It fell off with a screech as she shot two more and sliced the leg off the last one.

The pilot inside pounded on the cockpit window. He was clearly trying to eject, his ship beyond repair, but the window was stuck. Yang quickly sliced through the window, breaking it open. The pilot gave her a quick salute before ejecting, his parachute activating a moment later.

Yang jumped off the airship and continued her rapid descent towards the ground. Based on her current trajectory, she was going to hit at the north end of a park, right in the middle of a growing army of Annihilus' soldiers. She angled herself to stay on target, and then, at the last second, twisted herself up and fired once into the ground, slowing her descent enough so that when she hit, it wasn't at full speed. Several of the creatures were thrown back from the impact as she quickly reloaded her gauntlets.

"Yang?! You copy?!" Rocket asked.

In response, under her helmet, she flashed a grin. "Nailed it!"

Ruby had seen the person falling from the sky, and tracked her fall down to the ground at the far end of the park, where, to her shock, she had used a pair of gauntlets to slow her fall, landing effortlessly on her feet.

She zoomed in with her scope to get a better look at her, focusing in on the warrior as she got back to her feet, quickly reloading her gauntlets. She froze as she caught sight of the very familiar looking pair of weapons. "No…it couldn't be."

"…Yang?"

The stage is set for a family reunion...right in the middle of an apocalyptic nightmare. Sounds about right.

I hope y'all enjoyed the costumes I designed for those that have them so far-and that they have a special feature that generally works well with their various Semblances. I talked about Ruby's briefly (complete with a RvB joke), but I think my favorite has to be Nora's, which allows her to charge her armor up with electricity and channel either outward (for attacks) or into herself (to charge up her Semblance). And, as you can see, I'm also beginning to plot out some superhero names, but nothing official will be established quite yet.

The Fantastic Four's battle with Annihilus will happen next chapter when this arc wraps up. I know I haven't put too much focus on them due to wanting to get more of a focus on the RWBY characters (also why I'm not focusing on the Avengers during this final battle against the Annihilation Wave), but I did get some fun dynamics in, mostly for the rivalry between Johnny and Thing. And for their fight with Annihilus, I hope to get in some good team up moves with the four of them working together.

But anywho, that's all from me. Until next time, this is Guest 1138, signing off.
