When Mirabel finds herself pregnant at fifteen, Abuela decides Pepa will raise the baby after he is born. Rather than giving up her son, Mirabel runs away and raises Antonio on her own. But when she responds to an ad for a part-time housekeeper for a reclusive hermit, she will soon discover family is not so easily left behind.

Plagued by the pain of Isabela's upcoming engagement to Mariano, Dolores decides to get to know him better in order to finally lose her feelings for him. Instead, she falls deeper in love, and to her surprise, so does he.
