Where Our Waters Meet
By SMYGO4EVA
"It's so dark out here," Korra began, walking alongside Asami on the beach. The sound of the waves rushing back and forth along the sandbar was soft this time, almost relaxing.
"Good thing the moon's so bright, otherwise we won't see anything." Asami said. "And besides, walking on the beach the time of night was your idea, Korra."
"Yeah, I know," Korra said, sheepishly. "I just thought that we could have the beach to ourselves for a little while, when it's quiet." She replied, and she stopped walking for a moment.
"What is it?" Asami asked, as Korra knelt down in front of the waves, reaching out and dipping her hand in the cool waters.
"I like to come here when the beach isn't teeming with other people, and the ocean is healing, in a way." Korra replied, thoughtful and soft.
Asami knelt down next to Korra, nodding. "I understand."
"I'm glad," said Korra. "And you know what else?"
"What?" Asami asked.
Korra grasped Asami's hand, and the Avatar's eyes met hers. "Being on the beach is even better with you."
Asami smiled, her hands twining with Korra's, and as they stood upright, she pressed her lips onto Korra's.
Korra stilled at first, but then she returned her wife's gesture in equal measure, the waves back and forth around them.
