Story Start!
"And now, to the final round of this tournament to decide who the new Champion is going to be! On the red side, we have the challenger from the Johto region, Uzumaki Naruto!"
Naruto Uzumaki, a 16 year old teenager crossed his arms as he stared out at his opponent. His blond hair waved in the wind, and his determined blue eyes shined with a startling intensity. He wore a white button up shirt with a black overcoat, and black pants and shoes, with a green crystal hanging from his neck. He rolled up the sleeves of his overcoat, and pulled a single pokeball out of his inner coat pocket.
His opponent wore a similar outfit.
Just not overcoat, and with an actual belt instead of a string to keep his pants up, and he was paler skinned with a thinner face, black hair and eyes.
"On the blue side, we have Uchiha Sasuke, who has traveled from the Unova region to be here, in this match to decide who shall claim the title of Champion! This will be a full 6 on 6 match, to be ended when the final pokemon is left standing!"
"Heh... ready to go loser?"
"Born ready." Naruto stated as Sasuke took a pokeball off of his belt, and both of them took their stances in unison. Both of them were just waiting for the match to start, as the referee stood at the side of the arena with a red and blue flag. He raised both flags in the air.
"Come on out, Poliwhirl!" Naruto shouted as he tossed his pokeball right towards the center of his side of the field. A red energy came out of the pokeball when it opened up, and out landed his first pokemon of the match. On the giant score board, a picture of a Poliwhirl appeared lit up.
His Poliwhirl looked like any Poliwhirl you would find, but around his left wrist, he had a bracelet that had a stone put in the center of it. A purple and pink stone with heart in the middle of it, hidden inside of it. Poliwhirl shot some bubbles into the air.
"Go, Arbok." Sasuke tossed out an Ultra Ball.
His pokemon appeared on the score board as well, and his pokemon gave a hiss. It had a green clipped onto it's hood, and it was looking at Poliwhirl with a frustrated, angry, and aggressive look to it's eyes.
The match started.
"Use Belly Drum/Coil!" Naruto and Sasuke shouted out their instructions at the same time, not wasting even a second.
Poliwhirl proudly started to smack his own belly loudly, proudly, as a red aura appeared around it, and all of it's muscles bulged for a brief moment, before returning back to normal. It continued to pound it's belly while Arbok coiled itself into a tight coil, getting ready for a powerful strike of it's own.
"Now Scale Shot!" Sasuke shouted.
Arbok swung it's tail right at Poliwhirl, and it launched a dragonic looking scale made of energy at Poliwhirl. Poliwhirl acted with only a glance in Naruto's direction, and as Abrok swung it's tail 4 more times more quickly than before, Poliwhirl dodged all of the scales.
"Now Rain Dance." Naruto stated as he waved his hand.
Poliwhirl danced and dodged, a rain cloud appearing above the arena, and rain started to fall on both of the pokemon on the field. Poliwhirl danced happily in the rain, while Sasuke clicked his teeth in annoyance at the rain appearing.
'Scale Shot increased Arboks speed, and with a coil, he's stronger.' Sasuke thought. "Go for another Scale shot, take it down!" Sasuke demanded harshly.
"Liquidation."
'His Poliwhirl won't be able to outspeed my Arbok, even with Scale Shot making Arbok's defenses weaker, if Scale Shot hits, Poliwhirl will be down for the count.' Sasuke was then stunned for only a brief moment, when before Arbok could even finish swinging his tail once, Poliwhirl surrounded himself with water, and rushed towards Arbok like a raging river. With a full body tackle, the water type pokemon slammed into his poison type with enough power to knock him flying.
Arbok refused to go down in a single hit though, and got back up, swinging it's tail at Poliwhirl, and 5 energy scales slammed into Poliwhirl, right in the center of it's body.
"A Powerful hit from both Poliwhirl and Arbok, but neither pokemon wishes to go down! Both look like another hit will be it for them!"
'That Poliwhirl... it's way faster in the rain.'
'Good, Poliwhirl is way faster than Arbok under the rain.' Naruto thought with a grin. Both pokemon were back up, and ready to fight. "Poliwhirl, hit him with Hypnosis!"
"What!?" Sasuke hadn't expected that. "Dodge it!"
It was too late, Arbok's eyes started to drift to sleep when the Hypnosis took effect. The pokemon fell forward as sleep took it. He looked at Naruto, who was grinning at the successful play.
"Arbok, wake up and use Ice Fang!"
"Poliwhirl, use Rest." Naruto called out to his loyal pokemon, who relaxed and rested on the ground. The damage that had accumulated quickly recovered, and soon enough his pokemon was back to full health. Both pokemon stayed asleep for several minutes, before Poliwhirl woke up and stood back to his feet.
"Arbok, wake up now, and use Ice Fang!"
"Poliwhirl, Liquidation." Naruto called out, just as Arbok started to wake up. Poliwhirl, just as Arbok's eyes opened, slammed into it with enough force to instantly knock the pokemon fully out, knocking him clear over Sasuke's head and behind him. The referee raised a flag.
"Arbok is unable to battle!"
The Arbok on the Score Board greyed out, and Sasuke returned to pokemon to it's ball, before he pulled out another Ultra ball. He silently tossed another ball, and when it opened, it revealed the next pokemon of his choice.
"Go, Elektross."
"You're weak to him, think you've got this Poliwhirl?" Naruto asked his pokemon, and a thumbs up was his answer. He nodded. "Good, then Liquidation, take him down quickly!" Naruto gave his command, and the battle resumed with Poliwhirl covering himself with water, and rushing towards Elektross.
"Thunder Punch!"
Elektross showed his hand, before showing the magnet in it, and covering that with electricity. Poliwhirl hit Elektross with enough power to send him flying, but instantly after he was hit with that same punch in the blink of an eye. Both pokemon crashed in front of their trainers, with Poliwhirl struggling to get back up, but managing it. Elektross was out of it though, knocked out as soon as it joined the battle.
"Elektross is unable to battle, Poliwhirl has taken down two pokemon on it's own! Will this be a one sided sweep!?"
"Come back, you rest up." Naruto returned his pokemon to his ball, and pulled out his next pokemon as Sasuke silently returned his pokemon as well. Poliwhirl wasn't in the best of conditions, and the rain ended moments after Naruto put him away. 'Better to save him for later... he's earned a short rest.' Naruto got ready. "Come on out, Flareon!" Naruto tossed out his next pokemon.
A Flareon came out and rushed to his side, rubbing up against his legs. He had a collar with a crystal around his neck, and nuzzled against him. Naruto leaned down to pat his pokemon, who mewled under his touch.
"Win, Liepard."
A purple and yellow spotted cat-like pokemon gracefully landed on Sasuke's side of the field, with a challenger approaching, Flareon jumped back into the arena, ready to fight. Images of both of their pokemon appeared on the score board, and the referee showed that they could start battling again. The cat pokemon tossed a crown up onto it's head, and Flareon's collar glowed as the crystal empowered it.
Both pokemon were ready.
"Fury Swipes."
"Flame Charge." Naruto started, but Liepard was just faster than Flareon, and hit it with multiple quick attacks. Flareon covered himself with flames, and rushed at Liepard, who swiftly dodged.
"Fury Swipes."
"Dig, go underground and avoid getting hit!" Naruto called out, but Liepard was still too fast. Flareon flinched when it was hit by multiple quick succession claw attacks, and was unable to dig underground.
"A devastating barrage of attacks, Flareon flinched and couldn't Dig underground! Flareon is a powerhouse of a pokemon, but power means nothing if it doesn't hit!"
"Come back Flareon, this isn't the right match up for you." Naruto returned his pokemon, before he pulled out a ball for the next one. He tossed it, and Sasuke smirked when he saw how damaged Flareon was. Just a few more attacks, and the pokemon would be knocked out. "Beedrill, it's your turn!" Naruto called forth his yellow hornet pokemon.
It had a danging stone from it's stinger, but it was ready.
Naruto reached up to the crystal hanging from his neck, and both the orb on Beedrill glowed, and energy came out of Naruto and Beedrill, before the energy met up with each other, and wrapped around Beedrill. The energy formed a sphere that hid Beedrill inside. Seeing this process, Sasuke returned his Liepard and tossed out a different pokemon as well.
"End this, Bisharp."
The pokemon had the same charm on it as Poliwhirl, and it was ready for battle just as Beedrill finished transforming, and when it came out of it's shell, it changed into a much more dangerous and angry looking pokemon.
"Mega Beedrill, Fell Stinger!"
Unreal speed.
The attack hit Bisharp dead center in the chest.
"Slash!"
Beedrill took the slash from the Bisharp to the face and was knocked back, and it was a critical hit, a powerful blow that demolished Beedrill's weaker defenses. The pokemon relied on it's strength and speed greatly, and wasn't ready for such a hit. His pokemon returned back to normal, and Naruto returned him to his ball as the score board greyed out Beedrill's image.
"Taken down in one hit! That was a powerful critical hit from Bisharp, is this the point where Sasuke turns this match around!?"
"Come back Bisharp, come out Liepard!" Sasuke returned his damaged pokemon, and replaced it with the fully rested and health Liepard, who mewled as Naruto tossed out a pokemon of his own. With little choice, Naruto sent out Poliwhirl again, who seemed to be in a slightly, only slightly, more ready to fight condition, but still weakened greatly.
"Poliwhirl is low on health, and is weakened, does Naruto have some kind of strategy?"
'Hypnosis won't work on a dark type... so instead-' Naruto raised his hand up, and opened his mouth.
"Fury Swipes!"
"Go and use Ice Punch, try and get any damage you can on Liepard!" Naruto called out as Poliwhirl took a flurry of swipes from the cat pokemon, and barely remained standing as his fist was covered in ice. Poliwhirl swung and hit Liepard right in the face, knocking the pokemon back. "Rain Dance, you're faster under the rain!" Naruto called out.
"No you don't, Fury Swipes again!"
Poliwhirl flinched just as he started to dance, and the rain clouds didn't come back. Liepard landed back away from Poliwhirl, who dropped to a knee and his hands, before forcing himself back to his feet and getting ready.
"Poliwhirl refuses to go down, but still flinched! Sasuke is not letting his opponent set back up the rain!"
'I don't have a good switch... well...' Naruto pulled out his Friend Ball, but he looked at Sasuke, who was smirking, and he put the ball back up. He had one pokemon who could take down the Liepard for sure, a pokemon who was faster even without the rain. "You good buddy?"
"Fury Swipes!"
"Ice Punch again, don't go down without a fight!" Naruto cheered his pokemon on, who charged down the speedy Liepard. The pokemon got to him first and unleashed many claw attacks on his body, but without flinching or backing down, he landed another frozen punch right to Liepard's face. Poliwhirl collapsed forward though, almost right after, and was unable to stand back up.
"Sasuke's Liepard is a speedy threat, does Naruto have anything that can take it down!"
"Come on out Flareon, Poliwhirl weakened Liepard just for you!" Naruto sent out his Flareon again, who was still visibly damaged, but ready to fight. Naruto nodded to his pokemon. "Use...!" Naruto gave the order.
"Fury Swipes!"
"Protect!" Naruto finished shouting, and a barrier formed in front of Flareon just as Liepard got in close, but wasn't able to damage Flareon through the barrier. "Flame Charge!" Naruto watched as Flareon charged down the faster pokemon.
"Fury Swipes." Sasuke commanded lightly.
Liepard was too fast, and hit first, but Flareon didn't flinch this time, and hit Liepard dead center. Sasuke frowned when his pokemon hit the ground in front of him, and Flareon was left standing for a few more moments, before the pokemon collapsed forward.
"A double knockout!"
Both Naruto and Sasuke returned their pokemon, and they were each down to their remaining three pokemon. Sasuke with an ultra ball, and Naruto with a pokeball, tossed out their next pokemon, and both of the pokemon were flying in the air.
A Noctowl from Naruto, and a Hydreigon from Sasuke, with Noctowl having a white scard around his neck, and Hydreigon wearing black glasses over one of his heads. The two pokemon flew around each other, and the referee raised the flags up to show they could battle.
"Draco Meteor."
"Shit, Noctowl, dodge it and use Air Echoed Voice!" Naruto knew that move very well, and if it hit, it would be dangerous for his owl. Noctowl watched as Hydreigon started to unleash a flurry of dragon energy meteors into the air, before they started to come down towards him.
One hit.
There was an explosion, and Noctowl was unconscious with only a single hit, before he could do anything. Naruto returned his pokemon and looked down at the ball sadly, before he watched as Sasuke returned his Hydreigon. Using Draco Meteor took a lot of power and weakened the pokemon using it, so this was a smart move for Sasuke to pull back. Naruto tossed out his next pokemon.
"Gardevoir/Bisharp!"
"Down a pokemon, and with a bad matchup, is this the end for Naruto's Champion run?!"
"Give up." Sasuke stated. "Or don't, Metal Claw."
"Aura Sphere." Naruto stated with a hand of his hand, and Sasuke flinched back in shock when Gardevoir was faster than his weakened Bisharp, and summoned a ball of pure aura energy between her hands. She slammed the sphere into Bisharp when he approached, and the extremely super effective move was much too much for the pokemon. It was knocked out cold. Sasuke frowned, before he sent out his next pokemon as well.
It was a small purple and pink pokemon, no bigger than a foot tall.
"Pecharunt, Parting Shot."
Pecharunt shouted out to Gardevoir, and weakened it slightly, before going right back into it's pokeball.
"Use Psychic!"
Naruto had commanded before Parting Shot had even happened, but when it did, Gardevoir was able to do nothing as Hydreigon was immune, and came out of Sasuke's ultra ball. It was completely immune to the attack, meaning that Sasuke had just gotten in free damage on Gardevoir with a move that switched out.
Both Hydreigon and Pecharunt were faster than his Gardevoir, not good for him, and Gardevoir was weakened by the Parting Shot. Still, even weakened, if he could land a Fairy Type move on Hydreigon, then that would be a one shot, no doubt about that. Hydreigon was even weaker to fairy than your usual dragon type, extremely weak.
Gardevoir looked back at Naruto and nodded.
She was game to stay in.
"Use Moonblast!"
"Come back Hydreigon, and come out Pecharunt!" Sasuke switched out, and the moon energy blast was sent flying towards Hydreigon, but instead the target was replaced with Pecharunt, who tanked right through the attack. "Parting Shot!" Sasuke called out, and Pecharunt hit Gardevoir with another shout.
"Quick, get it with a Psychic before the attack lands!" Naruto called out to Gardevoir, if he could manage to land a hit first, then that could be what changed to flow. Gardevoir wasn't fast enough though and took the attack, and the Psychic failed once again as Hydreigon came out. The dragon type smirked towards Gardevoir, still at full health and having taken no damage at all.
"Gardevoir can't win."
"Sure she can, you've got this Gardevoir, you've got this. Use Moonblast again, faster, don't let him switch out!" Naruto knew that this would be greatly weakened from before, but Gardevoir went as fast as she could, but Sasuke switched his pokemon back out once more. An even weaker Moonblast hit Pecharunt instead of Hydreigon. 'Strategic switching... Gardevoir gets weaker with each parting shot.' Naruto thought as the ghostly poison type smirked towards the feminine psychic pokemon.
Strategic switching.

"Parting Shot!"
"Come on out Ogerpon!" Naruto withdrew Gardevoir and sent out Ogerpon, who took the Parting Shot in place of Gardevoir.
Small, just shy of 4 feet tall, and green, a grass type pokemon with an orange face and long horns, as well as a leaf cloak that served as her arms, Ogerpon looked at Pecharunt while holding a green oni mask, who looked back at Ogerpon with a terrified face. When Ogerpon put the mask over her face, her power increase several times over right after being weakened.
"My Ogerpon has the Defiant ability... your cheap trick just made her stronger. You ready for this Ogerpon?" Naruto asked, and Ogerpon pulled out her cudgel, and she was ready for violence in that moment when Hydreigon came out to fight. Sasuke stepped back when his strategy for weakening his opponent was used against him.
'I've got this, a Draco Meteor should still do massive damage. Ogerpon is a grass type, I can still use a poison move, and that will just leave Gardevoir, who is already weakened.' Sasuke watched as he put his Friend Ball back in his cloak pocket, showing he didn't intent to switch out again. "Draco Meteor, full power, end this weakling right now!" Sasuke didn't want to take any chances.
Ogerpon was fast.
Ogerpon was powerful.
"Double Kick!"
"Such a weak move?" Sasuke whispered as Ogerpon sped across the field and kicked his pokemon right in the body, before kicking him a second time. His pokemon managed to get off the Draco Meteor though.
Ogerpon dodged each hit.
"Ogerpon dodged all the hits! She has such a powerful affection for her trainer! What an amazing trust between them!"
"Quick, use Dual Wingbeat!"
"Spiky Shield!" Naruto called out, and the flying type move was negated when a spiked grass shield formed in front of Ogerpon as she tapped her feet against the ground. Hydreigon slammed into the shield, and was sent recoiling back from the damage the shield caused. Hydreigon wasn't looking so good as the shield came down, and he was face to mask with Ogerpon. "Swords Dance!" Naruto gave the command.
She followed, and using her cudgel like a sword, she started to dance around it, and her aura got more powerful as her attack raised many times what it was before.
"Breaking... no... use Pysch Up!" Sasuke changed his plans right away. "You cane win if you take one more hit, take down this runt of a pokemon!" Sasuke called out as Hydreigon copied and used all of the state changes that Ogerpon had gained. "Now, use Dual Wingbeat!" Sasuke ordered.
"Spiky Shield!"
A repeat as Hydreigon slammed into the shield and damaged itself, bringing itself down even more.
"Now, BONK that dragon with Ivy Cudgel!" Naruto shouted out, and Ogerpon jumped up high into the air and slammed her weapon down onto Hydreigon's head. It was a grass type move, not very effective type wise... but hit with enough force that the dragon pokemon was put into a crater in the ground, passed out.
Which left just Pecharunt.
Pecharunt was scared when it saw Ogerpon, and Ogerpon was angered when she saw Pecharunt.
"Bonk time, Ivy Cudgel!"
"Use Malignant Chain!"
Pecharunt didn't get to use it's move first, but it looked at it's trainer and held on to consciousness just as Ogerpon took great pleasure in hitting it at full force with her cudgel. Ogerpon was poisoned and confused at the same time moments later. She staggered back in confusion.
"Ogerpon!"
"Pon!" Ogerpon called out and shook her head a few times, before she removed her mask and spat poison out of her mouth.
"Sasuke's Pecharunt has held on to it's trainer wouldn't lose, but Ogerpon cured it's poison and confusion so that her trainer wouldn't be worried about her! These powerful pokemon don't want to back down!"
"One word, bonk." Naruto called out.
Bonk is what Ogerpon did, and Pecharunt was knocked out, even though it tried to stay up. The referee saw the knocked out pokemon, and raised the flag. Sasuke's final pokemon was greyed out, and the match was ended.
"And there goes the battle! Your new Champion! Uzumaki Naruto, the mystery trainer from Johto!"
Ogerpon jumped and hugged Naruto, removing her mask to show her wide and happy fanged smile.

Note: Other than Ogerpon, who was Naruto's first pokemon, all of his other pokemon CAN be caught in the Johto region, even Ralts CAN be caught in Johto in Heart Gold and Soul Silver.
This story uses a High School Naruto and Sasuke, who arrived together, got their partner pokemon, and then proceeded to become rivals.
