Chapter 3
As Naruto awakes the next day to the sound of his alarm he notices a note. 'Dear knucklehead, look over the beginner guide to sealing during your breaks today as well as the scroll on weapons. After class I will quiz you on seals and we will pick your preference on weapons, have at least two in mind. Yours sincerely Dog.'
Naruto with a deadpan face as he grumbles and gets out of bed. "Were the insults necessary" he asks as he starts his morning routine.
As Naruto gets out of the shower he decides to wear the same thing he wore yesterday. 'Well I guess this is me from now on. Seriousness is needed in our career and it was nice being talked to like a person from Hinata and shino.' The blonde thinks to himself as he moves to the door, his backpack and scrolls in hand.
As Naruto slips into class sitting next to a blushing Hinata he waves to her with a soft smile and she stutters back "G-good m-m-morning N-Naruto" as she returns his smile. A nod is shared between Naruto and Shino as he pulls out the scroll on seals.
Reading to himself and being still just like yesterday shocking more people as they enter the class room as he is early again and actually reading. The time goes by with Naruto ignoring the world engrossed by the beginning of the seals he is learning and how universal they can be. 'The pranks I could pull with this are amazing, no wonder Dog wants me to learn it.' He thinks to himself as he giggles happily unintentionally mimicking Dogs giggles for his favorite books series. As time gets close Hinata taps him on the shoulder again. "I am s-sorry, C-class is about to start N-Naruto."
With another soft smile he puts away his scroll and pays attention. "No reason to be sorry, you know how Mizuki will be if I am not listening." He says with an over exaggerated roll of the eyes.
As class goes on we jump to the other side of the village to Kakashi looking over training grounds trying to find the perfect one for his little brother to work in till he can be trusted with his private training ground and clan scrolls. Leisurely walking through the a forest clearing of Konoha that is so packet with trees on it perimeter it is basically private, we see 20 people with animal masks sparing, throwing kunai and shuriken at each other, practicing chakra control and surprisingly this is all dead silent besides the clang of weapons and clothes tearing. 'Ah the Anbu training grounds, what a wonderful place, this is perfect' as Dog thinks he moves his head to the side to dodge a kunai aimed for his head, tiger the one that threw it, nods silently and goes back to his sparring. 'Yes this will be perfect, maybe just have them miss on purpose in the beginning so he has a chance.'
As the day winds on it is about noon when all of Anbu break for lunch and to wrap their nicks and cuts. Clapping softly, Dog stands before them "now now I know I am leaving shortly but I just got some really good news, I get to train my little brother since the academy sucks so much." He says with venom in his voice at the word academy. "I will bring him here till he proves I can take him somewhere more private to train, you will miss your sneak attacks or us blunted weapons. You may haze him like any other recruit; it will help him be less hyper." Dog says with a hardy laugh that scares the younger applicants only knowing him to be detached and cold.
With a silent nod from the older Anbu and a scared nod from the younger ones that had to be broken out of there 'Naruto is a demon, mommy said so' mentality. Kakashi bows and body flickers away to the academy to watch over Naruto.
It is now lunchtime and Naruto is going over his notes Hinata helped him make, unaware of the man giggling at the girl's obvious crush on the young knucklehead. 'Hehe maybe I should fix that too just so lord Jiraiya can make another masterpiece in a few years. Yes yes my little brother and my one true love both in my life how could I not.'
As Naruto puts the notes away he pulls out the scroll on weapons and starts to look over them. "Katana is cool and so basic, bo staff seems fun but gramps uses that, oh boot knives sounds awesome."
Hearing Naruto mutter to himself Hinata looks over and notices what he is looking at. "N-Naruto may I make a suggestion." She says politely in her shy tone of voice before pointing to a weapon a little further in the scroll. "I-I th-think this one will s-suit you b-best." She gets out in a stuttering squeak as Naruto focuses on her.
Shino, overhearing the conversation, looks back and sees the weapon Hinata picked out and points back to the boot knives. "This would be a wonderful first thought and the one Hinata likes would be good for backup and infiltration. Why? I have noticed you favor no hand making you ambidextrous perfection for the dual wielding boot knives and your unpredictable nature makes that a great backup since no one really uses them.
Naruto sits deep in thought before breaking into a wide grin. "You two are the best thanks for the help guys I owe you big time, boot knives and rope dart it is." He says with a gentle laugh thinking about how cool he will look on the battlefield. "Don't worry when I am Hokage you two will have credit for helping me" he says putting a hand on their shoulders. Hinata passes out a warm happy smile on her face and Shino just readjusts his glasses silently.
Up in the rafters to no one's knowledge we pan to Kakashi who is wide eyed at the boy's choices. 'Your father and mother's preference for weapons, that's a shock, and stuff I have memorized thanks to you Obito. Thank you for helping me train our little brother.' With that he body flickers to the Hokage's office to inform him of the training schedule he made.
As Dog enters the office he completely ignores the things going on around him as he reads his book. "Lord Hokage are you busy at the moment?"
With a bulging temple, Hiruzen points behind him showing he is in the middle of a Chunin meeting. With sheepish expression behind his mask he moves to stand as a century behind his Hokage still reading his book and giggling every once and a while. As the meeting wraps up, Kakashi steps in front of his desk and makes the Anbu hand seals to seal the room, making the Third go from exasperated to serious in a heartbeat.
"I have a very big request but I need you to hear me out first before ripping my head off because I had no say in this choice." Kakashi states with the utmost seriousness as he slips his book into pocket looking his lord in the eyes. With nothing but a nod from his lord he continues "I was listening in on Naruto during lunch today because I sent him to school with a scroll on the introduction of seals, what they are and how they can help the basics to start the basics. And a scroll listing weapons he might want to try which is why I am here. Thanks to his two friends, Hinata Hyuuga and Shino Aburame, they helped him pick two weapons to specialize in." With a deep bow Kakashi continues. "Do I have permission to enter his parents house to get their training weapons?"
With that last line the Hokage stands up, eyes wide. "That is very dangerous. I see why you came to me, thank you kakashi. He really has an interest in both daggers and the rope dart. Mmm get the blunted ones from their estate but let him know the rope dart can still do damage with the weighted end." The Hokage flops back in his seat and groans, lighting his pipe. "This boy is so full of surprises and talent he might give me a heart attack one day." He says with a grandfatherly smile.
"Oh and one more thing till he can be trusted with his clan's training ground and temple I am training him in Anbu company 4 training ground. Bye." And with that he body flickers out only to hear his lord yelling at him to get back to his office now as he walks down the road and reads his book giggling like mad. If it was to his book or the Hokage's ire no one knows.
As Naruto gets ready to leave for the day he is suddenly stopped by seeing a coupon on the floor. Looking closer he sees it is for five free bowls of ramen from Ichiraku's. Drooling like crazy he waves by to his friends and tries to grab it only for it to move away from his hand, and for him to reach for it again and it moves again. "Stop moving and let me grab you." He shouts as he begins to chase it down the hallway of the school dodging other kids as he goes with ease and grace he shouldn't have for an academy student. Getting to an abandoned hallway dog steps out of the shadows holding the coupon on a string. "Impress me puppy and you can have it." With that being said he grabs him by the collar and body flickers to the training ground. Instantly dodging flying kunai as Naruto registers what is happening.
"Welcome to the Anbu company 4 training ground, let's begin." Dog says in a too happy tone as he drops Naruto on the ground. "I want 300 Burpees. Go." With the final word he throws a sharp kunai by Naruto's head with a tiny bit of killing intent. Scared out of his mind Naruto is slow to react which leads to another member of the Anbu hitting him with a blunted kunai in the arm leaving a bruise. "And that is one death, you just added 50 more." With the small jolt of pain Naruto's mind starts working again and he begins to work on his exercises.
"Dog what…is…happening" he asks as he continues his work out.
With a tilt of his head to the side he says in a deadpan voice "training puppy." Another blunted kunai comes at Naruto that Kakashi deflects with one of his own. "This is how the Anbu train; we do our normal workouts and exercise in silence, throwing kunai at each other. Failure to dodge brings pain and 10 laps around the village. Since you are not skilled enough for sharp kunai, we will add more workouts to you. Whoever hits you adds the punishment so get ready to meet everyone." His voice grows with mirth as Naruto tries to heighten his sense to feel an attack.
As Naruto keeps training he is hit with a blunted kunai, looking at the Anbu how hit him he sees him doing hand signs then to hear Dog translate. "He wants you to do a transformation and keep going holding it till you are done." with a quick nod Naruto concentrates at an apex of his jump and transforms a bit stumbling from the change in height, making Dog stop him with a hand and look at him in surprise, "Naruto why did you stumble and why can I feel your shoulder?"
With a look of confusion Naruto says in a perfect voice matching his quiet friend Shino "All i did was transform?"
Facepalming dog groans. "Naruto the transformation is an illusion not an actual shift, after we are done we are gonna go see the Hokage. Just get back to working out."
Popping back into himself still looking confused he asks "why do i need to see gramps?" but he continues his workouts.
While in his state of confusion Naruto is hit with another blunted kunai and this anbu in a hawk mask actually speaks up but not to Naruto to his squad leader who is wearing a tiger mask. "Sir given that we are off rotation for the next two days I would like to request off to make sure Uzumaki follows his punishment"
Without a second thought or look, Tiger replies holding back a chuckle. "Granted." With an evil smirk Naruto can feel behind the mask hawk pulls out a scroll and unseals something covered in smoke. "Now Naruto, remember two weeks ago when you tried paint bombing the Hokage and caught an anbu in the blast, here is my pay back" Hawk says mirth in his voice as a bright pink jumpsuit is shown. "All day you will wear this tomorrow." He says making most of the anbu bust out in chuckles and full belly laughs as Naruto grumbles finishing his burpees.
As Naruto stands up from his work out, Dog waves him over. "Naruto, what chakra control training have you done? Any outside the academy?"
Scratching the back of his head Naruto shrugs his shoulders. "Well I found out i suck at the leaf floating exercise but if I use a bunch they will float and I can work on lowering the number I am floating. I started at twenty leafs and got it down to seventeen before you came over and made me study yesterday."
With a nod, Dog points him to a tree as he tussles Naruto's hair. "Good you found a way to improve all on your own, why not continue and show me how you are doing this." sitting back he watches Naruto pick up eighteen leaves and slowly removes on making them raise slightly and shake with the extra chakra, holding it for twenty seconds before they blow away and smolder a little. Watching silently as Naruto repeats that process two more times and begins to grumble to himself, Kakashi decides to calm Naruto's nerves with a question. "Puppy, do you know why we train so hard?" He asks, pointing out how the anbu have already gotten back to training like Naruto wasn't even there as blood spills and soft thumps can be heard from people getting hit.
With a shake of his head Naruto responds. "To be the best you can be?"
With a soft chuckle and tussling Naruto's hair, Kakashi looks deep into Naruto's eyes and replies. "You are half right, we do train to be the best we can be but it is the source of that drive that matters. We wish to protect not only the people we love but our home as well. I work hard on my training to keep those I go on missions with safe so they may see their families again and to keep my little brother safe."
Perking up at learning something about dog's life. Naruto puts down his leaves. "You have a little brother, can I meet him, how old is he, do you have any other siblings?" He shoots off rapid fire but dog points at his leaves telling him to keep going as he looks at the blonde knucklehead and sighs.
"Well he isn't really my brother, just someone who I have known for a long time and I look out for him is all. For other siblings I lost them a long time ago on a mission that made me who I am today." He says leaning against the tree Naruto is sitting against as Naruto continues his chakra control. "That is all you are learning for now" he says in a light tone as the young boy nods, not wanting to pry after learning about him losing people. Looking up at the sun he sees how late it has gotten "we should go see the Hokage before the sun sets puppy." Kakashi says grabbing Naruto's collar and using the body flicker to disappear, reappearing in his leaders office letting the dizzy and somewhat tired Naruto fall to the floor.
Feeling the air shift at the use of chakra the Hokage looks up and smiles before breaking out into laughter watching Naruto's state. "Ah I see training is going well" he says in a jovial tone as he says some papers to the side.
"Why yes lord third things are going swimmingly, Hawk even got his payback for paint bomb." Kakashi says the smile is clear as day in his voice. "But we came here to discuss something with you we found earlier that might help Naruto when he starts going on missions." Getting over his dizziness Naruto stands up before transforming into Shino calmly, Kakashi walks over and smacks the slightly taller boy's shoulder. The Hokage, expecting it to go through since it is an illusion, interest peaks as he sees his anbu's hand stop.
"So it is a real shapeshift, you are right…that will come in real handy. Good job being such a good ninja at such a young age Naruto you are dismissed, me and dog need to discuss something and before you ask Imataki will lend you some money for ramen." He says chuckling before Naruto could get the words out of his open mouth.
Morphing his open mouth into a grin, Naruto rushes up and hugs his grandfather figure. "Thanks gramps you always know the way to my heart." He says, laughing innocently before rushing out. Heard through the closing door the two in the room hear Naruto talk to the Hokage's secretary about his day and training as she chuckles softly.
Turning back to each other, dropping their smiles, the two war vets start to think over the implications of this jutsu Naruto can do until the Kakashi speaks up. "Are you on the same page that the fox's chakra is what helps him do that"
With a sharp nod the Hokage sits back in his chair. "Keep on eye on him, that boy will be one hell of an asset when he grows up and we can't leave him to his own devices and hatred the villagers show him." With a bow Kakashi body flickers out

As Kakashi watches over Naruto from the shadows the young Uzumaki runs to get ramen he makes a shadow clone that runs towards the hokage's monument. Keeping his eyes on Naruto he smiles behind his mask, legs hanging over the edge of a building watching silently.

I have a basic outline for the story but I am fine with being inspired and of course proper credit will be given. All of you are most likely better at this fanfiction stuff then me haha.
