Dear Readers,
I know it's been quite a while since my last update, and I owe you all both an explanation and an announcement. These past three months have been incredibly busy for me. When I first started working on Chapter 11, I was also beginning my Forged in Fire reboot. Then Thanksgiving came, and I wanted to spend that time with my family. After that, I had to focus on my college finals and attend my graduation ceremony. Now I'm in the midst of job hunting, so life has been pretty hectic. I wish I could have updated you all sooner about my situation, but honestly, writing had to take a backseat while I handled these major life changes.
After much reflection, I've made the difficult decision to reboot The Lost Jedi of Westeros from scratch. This isn't a choice I've made lightly - I know many of you have invested time and energy following this story, and I deeply appreciate your dedication. However, I believe this restart will ultimately lead to a stronger, more cohesive narrative that better serves the story I want to tell.
For transparency's sake, I want to share that I actually completed a draft of Chapter 11 - "Caravan of Horror" - which followed Jon and Caspian's first real mission alongside the Mandalorians. The chapter dealt with them confronting the Glass Prince, a complex antagonist whose actions threatened both the North's developing glassworks and its people. It explored Jon's first experience taking a life and the emotional aftermath of such an act. I'd also planned to include a subplot involving Jorah and Lynesse Mormont, showing how their relationship evolved differently in this timeline, including them having a son together..
As I worked on Chapter 11, I realized that many of you were right in your feedback - I had rushed certain elements of the story and hadn't developed Kyen or the other characters as deeply as they deserved. Your honest critiques have helped me see where the story needs improvement, and I plan to do better in the reboot. If anyone has suggestions or ideas they'd like to share, please feel free to leave a comment, send me a message here on Fanfic, or reach out on Discord (username: Mtle232).
I want to give special thanks to ComparedDread, my amazing co-editor, whose insights and feedback have been invaluable. If you're reading this - thank you for all your help, and I apologize for not being as productive as I initially planned. Your contributions have meant more than I can express.
The positive response to my Forged in Fire reboot has given me confidence that this is the right decision. I've learned that sometimes taking a step back and starting fresh can lead to a stronger story overall. When I return with the new version, I'll delete this announcement and the current chapters, replacing them with the rebooted content.
To all my readers who have followed this story from the beginning - I cannot express how much your support has meant to me. Your comments, encouragement, and enthusiasm have been a constant source of inspiration. I never expected this story to resonate with so many people, and seeing your reactions to each chapter has made writing it even more meaningful.
I know this news of a reboot might be disappointing. Trust me, it wasn't an easy decision to make. But your engagement with the story has shown me its full potential, and I want to do justice to that potential. Reading your comments and seeing how invested you've become in these characters and this world has only strengthened my resolve to create something truly special.
(And yes, I see the irony in becoming what we often joke about - taking after George R.R. Martin's writing schedule. Though I hope you'll agree that a few months is still better than several years.)
I'm looking forward to sharing this renewed journey with you all. Your support has made this more than just a story - it's become something I genuinely care about and want to get right. I promise to take everything I've learned and pour it into making this reboot the best version it can be.
Thank you for being part of this adventure.

P.S. I'd love to hear your thoughts about the reboot. Your feedback has always meant a lot to me, and I welcome your input as I work on this new version.
