The Delinquent The Quiet Girl

Episode 12 – Love

Morning: A Strange Feeling

Miku had been acting differently.

Naruto noticed it immediately.

She was still her shy, quiet self, but something about the way she looked at him felt… different.

Like she was hiding something.

Or maybe…

She wasn't hiding it at all.

As they walked to school, Naruto shoved his hands into his pockets, sneaking glances at her.

Her cheeks were slightly pink.

She kept twirling a strand of hair between her fingers.

And when their hands accidentally brushed, she flinched—but didn't pull away.

What the hell is this feeling?

At School: Realization Hits

During class, Naruto couldn't focus.

His foot tapped restlessly.

He didn't understand why, but his chest felt tight every time he looked at Miku.

She wasn't doing anything special—just taking notes, her lips slightly pursed in concentration.

But for some reason—

She looked really cute.

Naruto immediately looked away, ears turning red.

What the hell?!

He shook his head, frustrated.

No way.

No way in hell.

But the more he tried to deny it, the more the realization sank in.

He liked her.

Lunch Break: A Confession?

They sat under their usual tree, eating in comfortable silence.

Naruto kept stealing glances at Miku, and every time she caught him, she'd quickly look down, playing with her food.

The air between them felt heavy—but not in a bad way.

Naruto exhaled, running a hand through his hair.

He was never good at being subtle, so he just decided to say it straight up.

Naruto: "Oi, Miku."

Miku looked up, blinking.

Miku: "Yes?"

Naruto hesitated—just for a second—then clicked his tongue.

Naruto: "…Do you like someone?"

Miku froze mid-bite.

Her chopsticks slipped from her fingers.

Her face turned red instantly.

Miku: "W-W-What?!"

Naruto groaned, rubbing his temples.

Naruto: "You heard me. Do you like someone?"

Miku fidgeted, her heart pounding.

Should she tell him?

Could she tell him?

She opened her mouth—

But then…

Miku: "…Why do you ask?"

Naruto grumbled, looking away.

Naruto: "…Dunno. Just… wondering."

Silence.

Miku felt like her heart was going to explode.

Then, softly, she mumbled:

Miku: "M-Maybe… I do."

Naruto's head snapped toward her.

His chest tightened.

His jaw clenched.

He wasn't sure what he was expecting, but hearing her say that actually pissed him off a little.

Naruto: "…Who?"

Miku's face was as red as a tomato.

She couldn't tell him.

Not yet.

So, instead, she whispered:

Miku: "…It's a secret."

Naruto clicked his tongue, looking away.

But his heart was pounding too.

And for the first time in his life…

He felt jealous.

After School: A Small Step Forward

As they walked home, the silence between them was thicker than ever.

Naruto had his hands in his pockets, staring straight ahead.

Miku kept stealing nervous glances at him.

She wanted to say something.

She wanted to tell him.

But she was too scared.

Then—just before they reached her house—

Naruto suddenly grabbed her wrist.

Miku gasped softly, looking up at him.

His face was turned away, but his grip was gentle.

Naruto: "…If you ever tell me who it is…"

A pause.

Then, with a low voice, he muttered:

Naruto: "…I hope it's me."

Miku's breath caught in her throat.

Her heart stopped completely.

Before she could respond, Naruto let go and walked off.

Leaving Miku standing there, cheeks burning—

And her heart screaming yes.
