The Delinquent The Quiet Girl

Episode 14 – School Dance

--

Morning: The Invitation

The entire school was buzzing with excitement.

The annual Spring Dance was happening tonight, and students were running around, making last-minute preparations.

But one person didn't care at all.

Naruto Uzumaki.

He sat at his desk, arms crossed, headphones over his ears, completely ignoring the chaos.

Kaito (Naruto's classmate): "Yo, Naruto! You going to the dance?"

Naruto grunted.

Naruto: "Tch. Why would I?"

Kaito: "What?! Dude, you got a girlfriend now, right? You gotta take Miku!"

At the mention of her name, Naruto froze.

He slowly glanced to the side, where Miku sat, her face already turning pink.

She quickly looked down, pretending to focus on her book.

Naruto clicked his tongue.

Damn it.

He hadn't even thought about the dance.

Did Miku… want to go?

Before he could say anything, Kaito smirked.

Kaito: "Ohhh, don't tell me. You're too scared to ask her?"

Naruto glared.

Naruto: "Hah?! Like hell I am!"

Kaito chuckled.

Kaito: "Then prove it."

Naruto growled under his breath.

Fine.

He would ask her.

He turned toward Miku, rubbing the back of his neck.

Naruto: "Oi, Miku."

She jumped slightly, peeking at him.

Miku: "Y-Yes?"

Naruto exhaled.

Naruto: "…Do you wanna go to that dumb dance?"

Miku's heart skipped a beat.

She had been too nervous to ask him first.

But now…

She slowly nodded.

Miku: "…Only if it's with you."

Naruto's ears turned bright red.

Naruto: "Tch. Alright then."

Kaito whistled in the background.

Kaito: "Damn. He's whipped already."

Naruto punched him in the shoulder.

Evening: The Dance Begins

Naruto hated dressing up.

But tonight…

He actually looked good.

Wearing a black suit with gold embroidery, paired with a deep red shirt, he had an effortless bad-boy charm.

His usual messy blonde hair was slightly neater, but he still kept his signature wild look.

And when he walked into the ballroom—

Every girl stared.

But Naruto didn't care about any of them.

Because the moment he spotted Miku—

His breath caught in his throat.

She was standing near the entrance, wearing a beautiful black dress with delicate lace details, paired with subtle red accents.

Her long blue hair was styled neatly, framing her soft face.

And her deep blue eyes sparkled under the lights.

She looked…

Stunning.

Naruto walked up to her, hands in his pockets.

Naruto: "…You look nice."

Miku's cheeks flushed.

Miku: "…You too."

For a moment, they just stood there, unsure of what to do next.

Then—

Miku: "…Do you want to dance?"

Naruto hesitated.

He had never really danced before.

But when Miku held out her hand—

He sighed and took it.

On the Dance Floor: A New Feeling

The music was slow and soft.

Naruto awkwardly placed a hand on Miku's waist, while she gently rested hers on his shoulder.

They swayed gently to the rhythm.

At first, Naruto felt stiff and awkward.

But as he looked into Miku's gentle eyes, he slowly relaxed.

His grip on her waist tightened slightly, pulling her closer.

Miku's heart pounded.

She could feel his warmth, his strength.

And for the first time in her life…

She didn't feel shy or nervous.

She just felt safe.

A Private Moment

After a while, the two slipped out onto the balcony, away from the noise.

The cool night air felt refreshing.

Miku stood by the railing, looking up at the stars.

Naruto leaned beside her, hands in his pockets.

For a while, neither of them spoke.

Then—

Miku: "…Thank you for tonight."

Naruto glanced at her.

Naruto: "…Tch. It's not a big deal."

Miku smiled softly.

Then, gathering her courage, she whispered:

Miku: "…It is to me."

Naruto's chest tightened.

He wasn't good with words.

So instead—

He reached out and gently intertwined his fingers with hers.

Miku squeaked softly, but she didn't pull away.

Instead, she held onto him tighter.

Naruto smirked slightly, looking away.

Naruto: "…You're cute."

Miku's face turned bright red.

She lightly punched his arm in embarrassment.

Naruto chuckled.

But deep down—

He knew.

Tonight was special.

Because for the first time in his life…

Naruto realized he was falling in love.

And Miku?

She had already fallen.
