A few days later, when everything settled down, and the ghostbusters recovered from their injuries, with Ray was no longer on crutches, Winston's sling was gone, Peter's buries had healed, as did the ones on Egon's face, but still had a small bandage on the bridge of his nose, the team threw a small holiday party at the firehouse.
Jeanie, Dana and Oscar, who were also in attendance for the event, helped set up decorations, and prepared some refreshments.
When it came time to give gifts, Oscar, of course got spoiled by his soon-to-be step-father, and his team with a batch of toys, including a power wheels replica of the Ecto-mobil that Ray and Winston put together.
Jeanie was also given gifts from her four bosses.
A gift certificate for a manicure from Peter, a beautiful, knitted scarf in her favorite colors from Ray, Winston gave Jeanie a book, she had been wanting to get, and Egon gave Jeanie a bottle of her favorite perfume.
When Jeanie asked him how he knew, as she never told him.
Egon answered that he remembered the scent from what she wore at the party at the Mayor's.
Ray, Winston, Egon and Jeanie then gave Peter and Dana a surprise Christmas/early wedding present with chipping in to pay for their honeymoon.
"Jeanie, guys, you didn't have to do that," said Dana, who was touched by the gift.
"We wanted to, you're a member of this family now.
Both you and Oscar," said Jeanie.
"Thank you everyone," said Dana, who was now touched by such a welcoming.
"And fellas, I haven't forgot about you either," said Peter, to his fellow team members.
This made Winston, Ray and Egon a bit nervous, as Peter was quite well known for giving, let's just say not so practical gifts.
For birthdays it could be improv classes for Winston, a bright pink Hawaiian shirt with matching sunglasses that was given to Ray, and a lava lamp Egon received as a graduation gift.
"I'll let you two go first," Egon said to his teammates.
To their surprise though, the gifts were rather meaningful.
Ray was given a new watch, to replace the one Oscar flushed down the toilet by accident, while Winston got a Swiss army knife.
"Thanks for the great new watch Peter," spoke Ray.
"And Peter, thank you for the Swiss Army knife.
How did you know I needed to replace the one I lost?" asked Winston.
"Lucky guess," Peter answered, as he chuckled.
He then turned to Egon and asked, "Aren't you going to open your gift Spengler?"
"I'm just wondering if I should preserve it.
After all, I never received a Christmas gift before," Egon replied.
"Aren't you the least bit curious?" asked Jeanie.
"I guess curiosity will eventually get the better of me sooner."
"Yeah, go ahead man," said Winston.
We all want to know," added Ray.
And with that, Egon carefully unwrapped the gift, to reveal a small box.
He opened the top and gingerly took out what was inside.
The item turned out to be a snow globe, containing a Christmas scenery of snow topped covered trees, a cabin, and two figurines, dressed in winter clothing.
"Turn it upside-down and turn the key," said Peter.
Egon did just that.
He turned the silver key, and a chiming tune of "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" began to play as he flipped the snow globe back, causing a flicker of snow to fall.
Once the music stopped and the snow finished, Egon looked up at Peter, who asked, "So what do you think?"
"Thank you Venkman.
And thank you everyone for making my official first Christmas memorable.
I'll treasure not just this thoughtful gift, but the experience I've had of all of you, sharing your holiday with me," said Egon, with a smile on his face.

Fast forward back to the present day

"And that everyone, is the story of Egon's first Christmas," said Peter.
"What a wonderful story.
Really brings back some of the best memories we all made," said Jeanie.
Egon wrapped an arm around his wife and daughter and said, "It was really the first time it felt truly like the holidays and it's also one of my favorite memories.
And after we got together and welcomed Lila, it became more special."
Lila carefully picked up the snow globe and asked, " Dad, out of curiosity, do you think the snow globe still works?"
"There's only one way to see," answered Egon.
After handing her dad the snow globe, Egon turned it upside-down, turned the key, and to his and everyone's surprise and joy, not only was the globe still fill with water and the fake snow, but the music began to play.
Still just as loud and clear as it did when Egon was first given the snow globe.
While the music played, Winston and Grace began to sing.
"We Wish You a Merry Christmas We Wish You a Merry Christmas."
That was followed by Jessica, Christopher, Rhonda and Gerald who joined in.
Ray, Jenny, Andrew, and Kylie soon followed, then Peter, Dana, Oscar, Peter Jr. and Tabitha.
And finally, Jeanie Lila, and Egon sang along.
"We Wish You a Merry Christmas, And A Happy New Year," everyone sang.

"It's amazing that after all these years, it still plays," said Jeanie, when the music stopped.
"So Spengler, where are you gonna put that?" Peter asked Egon, who was still holding the snow globe.
With a smile, Egon answered, "I think I know the right place."
He walked towards a handmade case that was filled personal items such as photos, awards, and trinkets that the team had collected over the years.
"Uh Egon, that's quite an unusual spot for a Christmas decoration," said Jeanie.
"Actually, I'm thinking of keeping the snow globe out as a permanent fixture at the firehouse.
If neither you nor Lila or anyone else minds," Egon replied.
His wife nor daughter didn't mind at all.
"Say Peter, speaking of treasured holiday decorations, what happened to that set of Christmas clowns that my aunt Beatrice gave us?" Dana asked her husband.
"Well, I told the kids many times, don't play ball in the house," said Peter, who was stopped by his wife, as she gave him "the look."
"They're in the basement, next to that exercise bike that I still have yet to ride," he concluded.
Everyone just laughed at the answer.
"Let's just get back to decorating the place, before it's Easter," said Peter, who instantly changed the subject.
And that's exactly what the Zeddmores, Venkamans, Stantz, and Spenglers did.

All's kidding aside, Egon was truly right about one thing.
Every year, the holidays would bring many wonderful memories not just on to his family and friends, but on to himself as well.
This was one lesson of the Christmas season that he would never forget that it was never too late to find joy and happiness during that time of year, and that he would treasure the memories for years to come.
