Lincoln Loud was always scared on March 31st; his whole family were on the date. Dreading what pranks Luan Loud was cooking up for the next day; April Fools Day which was her favourite time of the year. Still on this day; he couldn't help but feel that he was being watched...

After leaving the house to go to school, going to the arcade or going for pizza with his friends; it felt like someone was watching him. He was probably just being paranoid; if not then probably something related to whatever pranks Luan had planned.

Her smirks the entire day chilled the entire family.

Still he was in his pyjamas getting ready for bed; he was going to close the curtains when he spotted an eye appearing on him through the corner off his window. Then suddenly going right through the door as if she was a ghost was a smiling winged girl.

"Ahh! A ghost!" Lincoln yelled out as he then jumped into bed; looking terrified as she gasped.

"Oh no Lincoln... Did I scare you... I promise that I'm not a ghost..." the being then said looking guilty as Lincoln hesitatingly looked at her and noticed her wings and attire plus the halo above her head...

"Were you the one watching me... Are you an angel?" Lincoln asked finding it hard to believe but here he was. The girl nodded eagerly as she floated up to him.

"I'm so sorry... I realise how creepy it must be but... I'm your new guardian angel and I was just so excited... You're the first kid that I ever get to be a guardian angel to! I have been wanting to try being one for at least 2 thousand years but Sera my sister and the head seraphim angel... That's the type of angel I am by the way... Thought that it would be too much and wanted me to focus on being the Joybringer... I bring joy to those who ascended to Heaven and I love my job but I wanted to try and look out for human children as well... She finally relented and said that you were long overdue for one!" she then explained and kept on talking with Lincoln blinking.

"Long overdue for one?" Lincoln repeated eyes widened.

"Yes... Especially today... Honestly I don't find your sisters chances of making it to Heaven... Most of them and I hate being mean but it's the truth... Luan especially as her pranks could easily get you seriously injured if not killed... It's probably a miracle that it hasn't happened yet..." Emily admitted with a sad sigh with Lincoln talking in.

"Probably is... Can I please ask your name?" Lincoln asked as she then excitedly took his hand to shake.

"Oh I'm Emily though you can call me Em! Emmy. E. whatever you want. I go by whatever." she explained before she excitedly giggled. Lincoln felt disoriented.

"So you are gonna help me tomorrow?" Lincoln asked as Emily excitedly nodded.

"Yep. I actually know everything that she has planned... Viewing orbs from Heaven... For example she has a trick step prank for you specifically!" Emily then said as Lincoln looked interested.

Lincoln then asked "please tell me more..."

Luan's favourite day of the year and she couldn't wait; she had a step prank for Lincoln once he gets up and goes down the stairs which will start the morning pranks that she has planned for her family. He was taking his sweet time and she was getting hungry; if Lincoln makes her miss breakfast then the pranks would only be worse for him... All the other sisters had gone down; passing her nervously as she then smirked.

"Luan Loud! Get down here right now! It's time to leave and we don't have time for you to... Are you not even dressed yet?" Rita screamed as Luan was in a panic as the parents were at the bottom of the stairs looking stern. They looked much more upset once they saw that she was in her pyjamas.

"Sorry Mum and Dad... I was just wanting to check on Lincoln who isn't even out of his room yet..." Luan said as she then glared at her sisters snickering at the bottom of the stairs next ot their parents.

"Bye everyone! Have to get to school!" Lincoln made a big show of shouting as he got out from his place behind the sisters; fully dressed and with his backapck he then waved to Luan who was gobsmacked she spotted him going to the front door.

"What... No way... Did he phase through the ground to get to the kitchen or something..." Luan snapped out loud incredulously thinking this was impossible. Lincoln hid a smirk as he went through.

The best April 1st that Lincoln ever had; his sisters had high school said that Luan was thrown off her pranking game and now would be serving detention for coming to school late.

After school he went to the library to read for the entire day; Emily told him that Luan had worked hard to have something planned at his usual hang outs. "I love having a guardian angel..." Lincoln whispered in awe as Emily who was making herself invisible to the other people appeared before her.

"Luan knows you are here and has tracked you here as she blackmailed Lisa for her tracking software... I can get the chip out of you and you can go now..." Emily whispered and had a hand phase through his head and got out the chip. She then put it on the seat with Lincoln giving a grateful smile.

They then left as a dishevelled and crazed Luan was running to the library; ready to find Lincoln with her full pranking weapons...

Luan was marched home by police who were furious at what they were told; Luan had her head down in fear as the officers said that she was permanently banned from the library who was now charging the family to replace all the ruined and destroyed books in there. "You will be working to pay them all back young lady and you are BANNED from pulling any more pranks on April 1st and no blaming this on Lincoln... Retaliation and further protesting will increase your 2 months grounding to 3 months." Lynn Sr said sternly as Luan was open mouthed ready to protest.

"Plus added to the punishment if that happens will be that your weekends during this grounding will be spent at your Great Aunt Ruth's." Rita finished and that killed any desire for Luan to protest; she just looked in horror and accepted her fate. Her favourite day of the year ruined forever.

She was always ten steps ahead of everyone else on this day so how could Lincoln outsmart her? Nothing less than assistance from the Heavens could he even have a chance...

"... Really Emily; how do I repay you? Do I start going to Sunday School from now on or swearing faith..." Lincoln asked with upmost gratitude to Emily in his room but she shook her head smiling.

"Oh no Lincoln... Oh I ask for in return is that we remain friends even after you died and you join me in Heaven!" Emily then replied and Lincoln then took her hand to shake as to signify a done deal. "You know... Lori has Bobby visiting in two weeks and Ronnie Anne is coming over as well... She has plans to try and trick you into going on a double date..." Emily then whispered to him and Lincoln was interested in hearing the details to derail these plans.

Having a guardian angel was already awesome and it was only going to get better.
