Bella's p.o.v

I'm in the woods, once again, to talk to Edward. "Why are we here? The last time you wanted to talk like this, you ended up leaving me,"

Edward looks down and says, "Bella, I-"

I interrupt him by saying, "You're leaving me, aren't you? Edward, I don't need protection. I am a vampire, after all."

Edward laughs, "Don't you get it, Bella, you were never my mate." And with that, he turns around and leaves me heartbroken... again.
