Bella's POV

I was mad at Charlie for holding me back from going after Paddy. I wanted to explain. To tell him that I was sorry. I didn't know how I was going to put it all into a letter that I and Charlie had gotten back together and that we were pre engaged. Never mind telling him about the false pregnancy that we had in October. I didn't speak to Charlie for almost a week. It wasn't until we were at Good Friday Services that I finally did speak to Charlie. I decided in January that I needed to be more active with the church. I joined the youth group and then there was a call to be of service and greet people as they walked into the doors of the church. I figured why not. Grandma was all for me volunteering and did some herself as well. Even when she had to sit down in the walker that she was using.

Charlie walked in with Casey and Fred.

"Good Evening," I said.

"Hi, I um wanted to talk to you," Charlie said.

"I can't leave my post until after the service starts," I said.

"It's okay, I can join you right and we can talk?" Charlie said.

"Charlie," I started.

"Please?" Charlie said.

"Charlie you are creating a backup in the people trying to come in," I said.

"Please?" Charlie said.

I rolled my eyes before I said, "fine."

"Great," Charlie said as he stood beside and slightly behind me.

"We will be waiting inside for you Charlie," Casey said.

"Can you be a dear Casey and save us a seat?" Grandma said.

"Of course," Casey said.

We greeted the people that were standing in line behind Charlie until we got to a low in the flow.

"So, what's up?" I asked.

"You look beautiful," Charlie said.

"Charlie get to your point," I said.

"So, Prom is next week," Charlie said.

"Yeah so?" I asked.

"So, I know I made a mistake with holding you back from Paddy," Charlie said.

"You didn't even let me go and explain things to Paddy. To tell him that I was sorry but that I fell back in love with you. I wasn't sure of how to address it in a letter, and I tried, Charlie. I wrote fifteen drafts of a goodbye letter, and I couldn't do it," I said.

"Yeah I know Connie told me. I am sorry, I didn't know about Paddy. I assumed that you told him," Charlie said.

"Good Evening," I said to a church parishioner.

"Good Evening," Charlie said to the same parishioner.

"So?" I asked.

"So, I know that you're mad at me, and I am sure…." Charlie began.

"Good Evening," I said to another church parishioner.

"Good Evening," Charlie said to the same parishioner.

"Hello," The Parishioner said back.

"That you would not want to go to your Senior Prom with me. But I am asking you… No, I am begging you to give me another chance," Charlie said.

"What about Paddy?" I asked.

"What about him? I mean do you honestly think that you are ever going to see him again? I mean you saw his reaction to me holding onto you," Charlie said.

"Good Evening," I said to another church parishioner.

"Hello," the Parishioner said back.

"Good Evening," Charlie said to the same parishioner.

"Hello," the Parishioner said back.

"Don't you think that I owe him an explanation? He's going to Wisconsin next year, Charlie. I ruined everything for him, and you weren't man enough to let me go and try to explain things to him. Are you that jealous?" I said.

"No, I am not but still, I can't help it. You're my Girlfriend and my fiancé," Charlie said.

"You don't own me," I said.

"I think that you are jealous, Charles," Grandma said.

"Alright maybe a little, but I can't help it. He is better looking than me. I don't want to lose you," Charlie said.

"Charlie there is going to be hundreds if not thousands of guys on Wisconsin's campus, next year. That is going to be better looking than you, are you going to go crazy every time one of them comes up to me and starts talking to me," I said.

"I don't know," Charlie said.

"Then I think that you have your answer about prom. Goodbye Charlie," I said.

"But Bella," Charlie started.

"I said goodbye," I said.

"Fine," Charlie said.

"Charles, tell your mother never mind about saving our seats. We will find somewhere else to sit," Grandma said.

I started to cry the minute that Charlie left, I was even asked by more than one person coming in if I was okay and do I need prayer? I told them no; I will be fine. After we were done with the greeting. I bolted for the teen room and curled up on the coach and just let the floodgates come open with my tears.

"I am sorry about you missing Good Friday services, Grandma," I said through my sobs.

"Don't worry about it sweetie. You are more important, right now. You are hurting and you need my love and my support to get you through," Grandma said.

I sat there and cried into grandma's shoulder. I was glad that she was there.

Charlie's POV

Monday April 24th, 2000.

I spent the majority of the weekend moping around, I didn't feel like doing anything, including the gobs of homework that I had to do. I frankly didn't care; I was done, and I was tired with school. I could not help it, even the threats of if you don't do your homework, you won't graduate didn't work. I was depressed.

The doorbell rang and I got up to answer the door, it was Guy, in his work uniform Long John Silvers and he smelled like Fish, so I knew that he had just gotten off from work.

"Got your message. What's up?" Guy asked.

"Come in, I am sure you're beat," I said.

"Yeah," Guy said.

"So, I need to ask you something," I said as we sat down.

"Yeah what's that?" Guy asked.

"How do you handle your jealousy towards guys that look in Connie's direction?" I asked.

"Oh, I don't usually. Is this about Bella and Paddy?" Guy asked.

"Yeah. Bella was supposed to write and tell Paddy that we had gotten back together, and she chickened out. So naturally I got jealous and became possessive of Bella when Paddy showed up here last Saturday. Now Bella is mad at me because I would not let her go to explain to Paddy what happened. And now I am asking you to help me tame the jealousy that I have between Bella and Paddy," I said.

"Man, I don't know. You are in a sticky spot," Guy said looking at his nails.

"I know so what do I do?" I asked.
