Laura got up and walked over to the kitchen. She grabbed the tea kettle and filled it with water and set it back on the burner and turned it on. She leaned against the counter, her arms crossed.

"So how are things at the clinic?"

"He misses you." Kate said, grabbing two mugs out of the cupboard.

"I didn't ask about him.' Laura said softly.

"Laura!" Kate gave her an exasperated look.

"Well I didn't! Look, we both know he is better off without me!"

"You know that isn't true! He loves you and everyday that you're gone it just keeps getting worse and worse."

"You know I can't be with him anymore!" Laura turned away the tears flowing from her eyes. The tea kettle whistled and she turned it off. They both fixed themselves a cup of tea and then sat down at the table.

"Laura, you're not being fair to him. He loves you and you love him."

"Oh really? Do you really think he's going to still love me when I look like this?!" She pointed to the scars on her face.

"Yes, I do. My God do you really think that all he cared about all he loved was your face?"

"He used to call me his Angel Face."

"I know."

"And he named his clinic after me."

"Yeah, I know that too. But what does that have to do with anything?"

"Because I was always his Angel. He told me so many times that I looked like one. And now I look disgusting."

"You can't hide out here forever."

"Why not?"

"Because it isn't fair and it isn't right!"

"You told me when I came here that it was okay."

"And it was-it is. But don't you see?! I'm lying to Jeremy every day! He's my boss and friend and I'm basically lying to his face. Because I know you're alive. I see him grieving. He…" she hesitated. She knew ethically she wasn't supposed to talk about patients from the clinic. But the fact that their latest patient was a splitting image of Laura was both unsettling and intriguing. When she had first seen her she had thought she actually was Laura but her face didn't have any of the scars that Laura had. She had noticed Jeremy becoming enamored by her and she knew the only reason was because she looked like Laura. For all they knew she was married and maybe had a household of kids. Or maybe she was even a lesbian. All she did know was that it was possible Jeremy was falling for Jane Doe and for all the wrong reasons.

She decided to play it safe by playing it cagey.

"Okay, I have a question." She picked the conversation back up.

Laura sighed. "All right. Go ahead."

"What if he meets someone else?"

Laura took a sip of her tea and didn't say anything for a few moments. She set her mug down and sighed.

"Is there someone else?"

"There could be. Would you be okay with that?"

"I…I guess so."

"We both know you wouldn't be."

"Kate, tell me the truth. Is he seeing someone else?"

"No, he isn't. But there's always the chance that he could."

Laura put her face in her hands.

"He's better off without me."

"No, he isn't. And neither are you!"

"I'm tired. I think I'm going to read for a while." She swallowed the rest of her tea, got up, and put her mug in the dishwasher. She grabbed a book and headed to her bedroom.

Kate groaned in frustration. She had been so sure that if she had suggested Jeremy being interested in another woman it would have ignited something. Instead Laura had retreated even more.

"The only perfect solution is if we never see his lying face again!" Mona said.

"I agree." Jonathan said.

Sam sighed. "Please just hear me out."

"Okay fine. Say your piece."

"Dad can move into your apartment Mona! You said you were moving in here and so your apartment will be empty."

Mona looked at her. "Sam, do you really think I would want or even allow your lying ass of a Father to live in my apartment?!"

"Mona, come on. This isn't right! Yeah, Dad made a huge mistake. But he shouldn't be kicked out of his home because of it!"

"This isn't his home! It's my daughter's home!"

"Legally yes, but you know emotionally it's all of ours."

"He lost that right."

"Mona.."

"Sam, it's okay." Tony told her.

"Dad you.."

"Sam, enough. Please."

Sam sighed.

Tony picked up his belongings and headed to the front door.

He turned back and looked at Mona and Jonathan. They were sitting on the couch staring straight ahead.

"UMMMM well goodbye." Tony said softly.

They didn't say goodbye.

They just sat there like statues.

Tony felt his eyes welling up and glanced around the living room taking in every inch. He saw the Christmases they had spent together. The times they had danced together. The time she had proposed to him. The times they had eaten together just the two of them because of extenuating circumstances. Their family movie nights, Every one of these memories was like a gentle knife in his heart.

He cherished them but at the same time they were so painful.

He looked at Sam who also had tears in her eyes.

"This isn't right!" She mouthed.

Tony reached out and stroked her face.

He opened the door and walked out.

Sam watched him leave and then turned to Mona and Jonathan.

"I'll never forgive you for this! And neither would Angela!" She followed after Tony slamming the door behind her.

"Okay, I'm going to ask you some questions and maybe it will trigger something in you." Barbara said to Angela.

"I'll try anything!"

"Okay, do you know your favorite color?"

"Ummm I don't know. Blue?"

"You don't sound so sure."

"Because I'm not! For all I know I hate the color blue!"

"Okay. okay. Let's move on. Do you know your favorite dessert?"

"No!" Angela started crying.

Barbara handed her a tissue.

"Hey, don't despair."

"How can I not? I mean I have a child out there who needs me!"

"You remember you have a child?"

"Yes. No. I just… I heard a little boy's voice in my head. He called me Mom."

"Okay, we're getting somewhere."

"But, what if I'm wrong? What if it's just wishful thinking?"

"Do you think so?"

"I'm not sure."

"But, it is possible you have a son and maybe even more kids."

"I just wish I could remember something! Anything!"

"I know this is a drag."

'Sometimes, I feel like you think I'm a drag.'

'No, I don't. Well sometimes. But a lot of my friends feel that way about their Mothers.'

Angela gasped.

"What? Did you remember something?"

"Yes, I think so. I just heard a young girl call me Mother."

"Okay. This is good. So maybe you have a son and a daughter."

"Yeah. Maybe. If I do, they're probably so scared."

"I'm sure they are but let's not dwell on that."

Angela nodded.

'Okay let's continue…..

Sam threw open the door to her dorm room and slammed it shut. She couldn't believe Mona and Jonathan had actually gone through with it! She thought she had the perfect solution by having her Dad stay in Mona's apartment. But Mona's refusal had shot that idea to pieces. She couldn't believe how cold blooded Mona was being. It was true Mona wasn't an overly sentimental person but this was over the top.

She collapsed on her bed.

"Damn it! How am I going to fix this?!"

KNOCK! KNOCK!

"Whoever it is, go away!"

"It's me. Please open the door."

Sam got up and went to the door and opened it.

"Oh, I'm so glad you're here!"

Tony sat down at a table in the student union. He had a cup of coffee in front of him along with a package of peanut butter crackers from the vending machine.

What if Angela never comes home? What would he do? What would they do? She was the glue that held the family together and now that she was gone everything had fallen apart. Mona and Jonathan hated him. Not that he blamed them. He hated himself for what he had done and how he had acted. If he had even one ounce of maturity and self respect he never would have let Vinnie, Tiny, and Ernie convince him he was henpecked. But for some reason he had. He had listened to them and now because of that Angela was God knows where. She was probably so scared and he couldn't do a damn thing to help her.

Tony was so involved in his musings he didn't notice the woman standing by the table. She cleared her throat.

"Excuse me? Tony?"

Tony shook himself out of his thoughts and looked mouth dropped open when he noticed who it was.

"Kathleen?!"
