Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto or Legend of Zelda
I know, I know. Another story when I have others I need to get back to but there is someone to blame here. My friend "MercenaryGrax" and I were talking on our discord server and he gained the idea of writing a naruto Legend of Zelda fic. While talking about it, the damn plot bunny took me over and I gained this idea and I had to write the first chapter in order to get it out there and not forget.
Wanna punish him, then head to his profile "MercenaryGrax" and read some of his stories and favorite and follow some of them. Punish him by reading his stories, trust me, they are good
Now onto the first chapter. Aso details at the bottom Author's notes
Chapter 1: a stroll through the woods
Long ago, before time was even a thought, before spirits and life existed, a trio of goddesses had descended upon a world of chaos as they saw its potential to be something beautiful.
Din, the goddess of power.
Nayru, the Goddess of Wisdom
And Farore, the goddess of courage.
Combining their powers, they created what would be the world we live in
Din, with her strong flaming arms, cultivated the land and created the sturdy red earth.
Nayru, poured her wisdom into the earth and gave the spirit of law to the world, bringing forth the everlasting sky and sun.
Farore, with her rich soul, produced the life forms who would uphold the law, and bring beauty to the lands
With their task complete, the trio of goddesses returned to the heavens, proud of their labors bearing such a beautiful world. In their departure, a portion of their power was formed at the point of their leaving and shaped into the sacred triangles. These holy triangles were worshiped as a symbol of the ones that gave life to the world and were soon hailed as the symbol of the goddesses. The Triforce.
The Triforce was then housed in a realm that very few can get to. This holy land was named: The Sacred realm.
But trouble soon found its way to this beautiful world
From beyond the sky, came the seed that would throw the world into chaos once more. This seed grew into a mighty tree that towered over the clouds and could be seen in all the land. The people feared this tree as despite it being a form of life, the surrounding area seemed more withered and dry.
This mighty tree was absorbing the life of the very world, causing many living creatures to die by being too long in its presence.
One day, a woman had made her way to this tree and climbed it to see what was among the branches. It was this act that she found that it bore a single fruit. One that had not been seen anywhere in the lands of the world. Feeling curious, this woman chose to eat the fruit.
This one action was the beginning of chaos
The fruit imbued the woman with an energy that was separate from the goddesses but can be seen as just as powerful. This new energy was called chakra.
The woman who gained power unimaginable declared herself the new goddess of the world and shunned the trio as false deities. She corrupted many creatures to become monsters of various levels of power. Some were even soon to be known as demons, feared for their size and dark power.
War was soon unleashed as the woman became a tyrant and sought to destroy everything that the goddess trio created.
Many lives were lost on both sides and the people began to pray to the Triforce, asking for their three goddesses for their aid. In response, the trio had sent in their youngest sister to aid them in their time of need. The young goddess, Hylia.
With the young goddesses' guidance, they fought against the false goddess who goes by the name Kaguya.
The battle was dire and many more were lost. But it was by the hand of a small group of people that the young goddess saw that her people were able to vanquish Kaguya.
However, as the haze of war faded, the goddess felt great sorrow for the loss of her people but also for the death of the heroes of the land. She had watched them through their battles and vanquishing the evil that was bred through the chaos. She stood by them as the imprisoned hero did their last task, sending the Hylian people into the sky while they remained behind. She only became visible as they gave his last breath.
She cried as she had become fond of these young brave souls that suffered mistreatment till the very people that imprisoned them, needed their aid. She held the body of the imprisoned hero as her tears fell as she did her own last action.
"I shall shed my divinity so that I may once again stand by your side. When the world is in need of us once more, we shall face it together. And I hope that we all may stand together to save the world once more to see the beauty of the world once more."
This was the beginning of the legends
A small pink fairy was seen flying through the dark forest, avoiding the animals that were roaming around. It swerved back and forth as it flew at great speeds but soon had to pause as a snake snapped its mouth in front of it. Shaking in agitation, he flew over the snake, before turning around and giving what sounded like a raspberry. It flew away from the area at a slower pace. Just to make sure it didn't run into any more issues. For some time, it flew through the forest and soon saw daylight ahead of it. It broke the treeline and was privy to the sun rising at the village of Konoha. "It's always beautiful to see the sunrise in the village." was the female voice of the fairy. Floating there for a few more minutes to watch the sunrise, she shook her head before she remembered what she was sent to do. She flew into the village in time to see several people coming out of their homes and businesses to get started with their day
As the fairy flew through the village, the people who noticed her waved to her as she passed.
"Good morning!"
"Mornin!"
"Good to see one of you fairies this early!"
The fairy gave her own greeting as she passed but did not stop her pace. But as she entered the market district, she became distracted as the smell of freshly baked bread wafted in the air. She turned her body to the bakery she was passing and didn't see where she was going and bumped into something, hard. "Woah!" she thought she was about to fall to the ground but she found herself caught by a pair of hands.
"Oop, careful. You should watch where you are going."
The fairy looked up to see one of the village's shinobi having been the one to catch her. "Thank you."
The shinobi had long purple hair that ended at her lower back, almost hiding the sword she had. This was Yugao, swordmaster, and Anbu Neko of the village. She was enjoying an early morning walk as it was her day off and chose to enjoy the brisk air. "You're welcome but I am curious. It is very rare if not impossible to see a fairy away from one of the Forest children. Did something happen to your child?"
The fairy floated out of Yugao's hands before she bounced in the air. "No no. I was just sent out to do a simple task. Which I really should get back to. Thank you again for catching me."
Yugao nodded. "My pleasure, now hurry off and finish your task. Fairies should never be far from their child for long."
"I will. Have a good morning, bye." the fairy then flew off towards her destination
Yugao nodded before continuing on her walk.
The female fairy flew even faster but kept an eye on her flight path and soon found herself in the living district. Smiling to herself as she knew she was close, she took a left turn and into an alley as it was a shortcut to the location. She flew out of the alley and straight towards a window that was left open. She found herself in a simple bedroom that had a single occupant. She looked to the bed and saw the blonde hair of the boy she was sent to retrieve. "Hey!" she bounced around in the air above the boy as she tried to get his attention. "Hello?"
The boy groaned as he brought the blanket over his head to try and drown out his wake-up call.
She grew irritated and bounced around more "listen!" she kept trying to get his attention but all she kept getting were groans. "HEY!"
That last one did it and the sleepy groans became a groan of resignation. "Alright, alright. I'm getting up." The boy threw off the blankets and jumped out of bed before stretching his arms over his head. Once done, he looked at the one that woke him. "Why did you wake me up so early in the morning? It's…" he looked at the clock in his room and groaned again. "...barely even five. Is something wrong?"
The fairy shook "nothing is wrong but you were summoned and it is recommended that you come quickly."
The boy yawned as he walked to his wardrobe. "Ok. I'll get dressed and make my way towards the forest."
The fairy let out a chime of happiness as she flew towards the window. "We'll wait for you in the forest. Please hurry." she paused before leaving before looking back. "And you really shouldn't leave your window open at night. It isn't good for you, Naruto."
Naruto looked behind him as he gave a foxy smile. "But if I didn't leave it open, how would you get in?"
The female fairy humphed before lying out the window.
Naruto chuckled before he began to get dressed in simple clothing. He was glad it was a Saturday and he didn't have to worry about going to the academy.
Naruto Uzumaki. Age 11, an orphan for all his life and overall prankster for the village. His parents were killed the day of his birth during a massive battle against a massive beast and Naruto has been on his own for as long as he could remember. The apartment was given to him by the Hokage and most of the utilities are handled by the old man that is in charge of the village. He does find it lonely that he doesn't have anyone to greet him when he comes back but he knew there wasn't anything he could do about it.
Naruto put on a dark burnt orange shirt and a pair of tan shorts. He moved to his dresser and smiled as he grabbed one more thing. He then tied it around his neck and smiled at it. It was a forest green bandana that had a simple red symbol on it. (it's not the Uzumaki symbol). Once it was securely tied to his neck, he ran towards the front door, put on his sandals, and out into the village, making sure he locked his apartment before he left.
Naruto ran through the streets as fast as he could as he knew that if he was summoned, then he should hurry. The brisk air was enough to make him wake up a bit but he still had his eyes drooping. The reason for this was because he was reading about the legend of the land. There were many that didn't believe in three goddesses creating the world itself since it is hard to believe about it and thought that it was just some propaganda that the people who use magic made just to make it seem like the people with chakra were the ones that started to conflict.
But no one knew what really started the massive war they discovered happened so long ago. All they found out were some ancient documents about it.
There are a lot of people on both sides that have some animosity towards the other. Some even say that it was in our very nature to be against the other since no one is able to have both magic and chakra. Even attempts of breeding to have a child with both came out impossible since the child would either have magic or chakra. Never both. And it was easy to tell who had which all thanks to the ears. Those who are able to use chakra all had round-tipped ears but those who can or have the potential to use magic have pointed ears.
It was also a touchy subject since the majority of civilizations have loyalty to the royal family of Hyrule. It was thanks to the royal family that there are many locations that can be considered mixed with both races.
Naruto had to do a paper about the tension between the magic users and chakra users and what could be done to end the strained relations.
Naruto was brought out of his musing when he ran into a door that suddenly opened.
*BAM*
"Ow!" Naruto fell on his ass while holding his nose in pain
Out from the door came a balding pudgy man who peeked his head around the door before frowning down at the boy "what the hell is up with you, kid?"
Naruto rubbed his nose as he pushed himself up from the ground. "Sorry about that, I was kinda in a hurry." he looked up and grew a bit nervous at the angry look on the man's face.
The man glared at the boy for a minute till his angered look dropped and he sighed as he saw the nervousness the kid had. "Sorry, kid. I hadn't had my morning coffee yet. And I found out I'm out of Lon Lon milk so breakfast is a little delayed till I can get more from the store."
Naruto's nose finally stopped hurting as he nodded in understanding to the old man. "Yeah, being out of Lon Lon milk can just make any morning suck."
The man grunted in agreement before he grabbed a broom before he gestured to his right. "Alright, kid, head off. Didn't you say you were in a hurry?"
Naruto gained a look of panic as he gripped his hair. "Oh no! I'm gonna be late!" he ran off without another word.
The man shook his head before he began to sweep outside his home.
Naruto continued at a much faster pace but as his mind went over the small talk he had with the man, his stomach chose to remind him that he hadn't had any breakfast yet. He groaned as he slowed down till he stopped and looked down as he held his stomach. "Why do you have to say something now? Ugh."
[...this is a small clip of the popular Zora band from their last performance with their lead singer, 11-year-old Lulu gracing us with her lovely voice]
Naruto turned his head to see a TV showing a video of the Indigo-GO with the camera showing each of their members with the last one shown was a young female southern-waters Zora, wearing a simple blue dress with a skirt and clip-on coral earrings.
Naruto stared in awe at the clip as he loved the Indigo-GO as he listens to their music whenever he could
The Zora species seemed to be more in tune with the magic users as they also have the ability to use magic, both kinds.
The southern waters Zora and the northern waters Zora looked very different from each other.
The southern water Zoras would almost always be colored with blue highlights here and there and at times other colors.
The northern water Zora on the other hand would have more variety in coloration and their head had a more stingray-like shape.
Despite their difference in appearance, they saw themselves as brothers and sisters of the ocean and held no animosity towards each other.
Naruto closed his eyes as he listened to the music being played and began to bounce side to side with the music. The world around him blackout and all that was left was him and the music. He always wanted to go to one of their concerts but the thing was that they rarely play on the surface and to gain passage to southern Zora's domain was costly and being that he didn't have that much money himself, he knew that he would not be able to see them anytime soon.
The music ended with the announcer speaking again [I have to say that it is always a treat to hear her singing. And word is that they plan on doing another tour across the land. But that is just a rumor. If the rumor turns out to be true, no details have been released but if we get those details, we will let you viewers know. I know I'm going to start saving my pennies so you should too if you want tickets.]
Naruto slumped as he knew that he wouldn't be able to get the tickets or the travel fees that would be needed before he slumped away. It was then that his mind caught up with him and knew that he was now really going to be late. "Crap!" Now he was pushing himself to go as fast as his feet could take him "I hope I'm not gonna be in that much trouble."
Naruto was able to get through the village with a bunch of people waving good mornings and despite how he was in a hurry, he gave his own good mornings. Now he was running at the tree line of Konoha's infamous forest of death. He looked around as he walked forward. "Hello? Wah!" he was suddenly surprised when the pink fairy popping in front of his face. He fell back and landed on his ass again as he heard the pink fairy laughing. "Ha ha. Very funny."
The pink fairy giggled before she flew around him before stopping in front of him. "We should go in now. Don't want to keep them waiting." she then flew off into the forest.
Naruto got up to his feet before running after the fairy. "Hey! Wait up!"
Naruto followed the fairy as fast as he could as the fairy flew ahead out of reach but not out of sight. Naruto soon caught up with the fairy because she stopped moving and he knew why.
The fairy then floated to the right of his head. "Ready?"
Naruto nodded as he watched the pink fairy float only a foot away from him and he followed her through the forest.
This part of the forest is a very dangerous section since it has something different about it. All the shinobi knew that they are never to go into this section as it lives up to its name: the Lost Woods.
Deep within the forest of death was the Lost Woods. A section filled with magic that if someone ends up in it without a guide or knows the way to traverse the forest will become forever lost with no idea what happens to them. It is why there is a warning to all who enter that they should avoid the area. But legend has it that if a child ends up in this forest and cannot find their way out, they become one of the many skull kids seen wandering around.
Naruto is one of the few that constantly goes into the Lost Woods as he had been able to navigate his way through. Though it does take him a lot of time to get out, which is why that when he wants to get through at a quick pace, he needs a guide, most of the time in the form of a fairy.
Naruto paused as he heard jingling coming from the right and he turned his head in time to see the glowing eyes of one of the skull kids. It disappeared behind the trees when it was spotted. Naruto shook his head as this had happened a lot when he came into the Lost Woods. There would be a skull kid that comes around and spies on him as he makes his way through.
"Hey!"
Naruto looked at the fairy and could tell based on the reddening of her pink glow that she was irritated. He nervously chuckle as he rubbed the back of his head. "Heheheh sorry."
She huffed as she flew ahead with Naruto following her.
After a bit more walking, Naruto finally noticed that the dark mysterious forest slowly became brighter and he knew that from here on, he would be able to find his way. As he picked up his pace, he froze as he heard the familiar sound of a flute.
{↓ → ←, ↓ → ←}
Naruto knew that song. He could never forget the song as it belonged to one of his friends. He turned to the left and ran towards the sound with the fairy floating by his head. He hopped over a fallen tree and came upon a tunnel. He passed as he couldn't see the other side of the tunnel despite him knowing that the tunnel is only a few feet in depth. He figured that it was just the magic of the forest causing this kind of feature to these tunnels. He walked through the tunnel and after a few feet, the blackness that took the inside of the tunnel faded and he could see the other side. He was now in a small square-like area and he walked to the far right corner towards a large stump with a single girl playing her favorite instrument, the Fairy Ocarina, with her eyes closed.
The pink Fairy left Naruto's side and floated around the girl's head as she began to dance around.
He walked up to her and stood a few feet away as he closed his eyes and enjoyed the sound of the song. For minutes he stood there just enjoying the clean forest air, the sound of the forest, and the song being played. It was very tranquil.
After another minute, she finally stopped and pulled her ocarina away from her lips. With her eyes still closed, she smiled as she spoke. "You're late, you know."
Naruto opened his own eyes and rubbed his head in embarrassment. "Sorry about that, Saria. But I came as fast as I could, you know."
Saria opened her eyes to show her bright emerald green eyes as she hopped off the stump to stand in front of Naruto. She shook her head as she giggled. "You use that excuse every time I call you."
Naruto slumped as he knew she was right.
She smiled as she patted his head "come on. We can talk on the way to the village."
Naruto stood up as he nodded before the three began to make their way to her home. "So why did you call me so early in the morning. I haven't even had any breakfast yet."
Saria walked a few feet ahead and she turned around, folded her hands behind her back, and leaned forward. She smiled at him as she said. "Maybe that is one of the reasons I called you so early in the morning. It's fun to have breakfast with friends isn't it?"
Naruto smiled as he nodded. "Well, you're not wrong. But that can't be the only reason."
Saria sighed as she stood up while still walking backward. "You forgot, didn't you?"
Naruto scratched his head as he tried to think of what it was he forgot but for the life of him, he couldn't remember the thing he forgot. He soon became sheepish as Saria's gaze bore down on him and he felt really small. "uh….I….maybe….?" his voice came out meek as she kept staring
Saria spun around and shook her head. "I knew you would forget."
"Hey come on! It's not like I did it on purpose. Just tell me what I forgot!"
Saria smiled mischievously as they kept walking. "Mmm~ nope."
"Saria~!" was his whining response.
~Kokiri Village~
The three walked through the main entrance of the village of the Kokiri and Naruto looked around with a smile on his face, this was a home away from home, even if it was within his home.
"Hey, Naruto!"
Naruto turned his head to see Fado waving at him. "Morning, Fado!"
"Good to see you again, Naruto!"
Naruto looked in the other direction to see the Know-it-all brothers. "Hey, guys." Naruto waved at them as he and Saria walked deeper into the village. It was then that he saw Mido who humphed at his arrival and Naruto grumbled at the kid as he didn't know what his issue was. He then looked around to see if he could find the last of his friends. It was then he remembered what it was that he was summoned for. "Is it safe to say that he is still in bed?"
Saria giggled as she nodded. "You know how he is. In fact, if it wasn't for my fairy getting you, you would be just like him."
Naruto grumbled as he thought about still being in bed. "Lucky guy." he took a breath as he looked at his green-haired friend. "Want me to wake him up?"
"Yes please."
Naruto gained a mischievous look as he ran ahead towards a certain treehouse
*snore snore*
Naruto looked down at the sleeping boy in front of him. He was a little peeved since he wanted to be in the same state as the guy. Sleeping. Not wanting to let the kid sleep longer, he cupped his hands around his mouth and took a deep breath. "GOOD MORNING!"
"HAAAAAAAAAAAH~! OOF."
Naruto laughed as he saw his friend scream his head off and fall out of the bed. He saw his friend lift his head before he glared up at him. "Well, good morning to you too, Link." The only response he got was a pillow to the face.
End of chapter
Ok, those fans of the Legend of Zelda franchise might have noticed some mix and match of multiple of the games in this and the reason for this is…...well, I'm merging several games into this. The reason I am doing this is more to challenge myself since if I just used a single game, I feel like it would just be, a Naruto was thrown into the LOZ world and I didn't want to do that.
On this note, the lay of the land is much different from both worlds in a way. More so the LOZ areas more than anything
Also, I hope you got the reference given at the start with the very first hero. Really liked that manga in the "Hyrule Historia"
The games I plan on mixing in here are, obviously, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Skyward Sword, and some elements of Breath of the wild. The last one is mainly because I love the game. I might put in elements and areas of Twilight princess. Any other game….it's too early to tell
the Zora, I had the idea similar to the North and south pole water tribes of Avatar the Last Airbender. both cut from the same cloth but different ways of life. but with no animosity towards each other
The reason I put Kokiri village inside the forest of death was that I felt like it would work. Konoha being the village surrounded by a forest I felt like Kokiri village being hidden inside the forest of death, especially since the lost woods
As for Pairings come an issue. Lotta choices and damn it I'm indecisive. And this ain't just for Naruto, cause hey, Link is here too.
there is a chance of multi-pairing because damn me and my inability to choose. Also to clarify…..no lemons. I did say that there is a chance for multiple pairing but there is little to NO chance of a lemon. I'm more fluffy moments
Anyway, if you got a suggestion then I would love to read it in a review so please put it there.
