Chapter 1 The beginning
Three brothers were sitting around playing one of their favorite games, Skyrim. Desmon looked to his brothers and asked, "Wouldn't it be awesome to live in Skyrim?" His brothers, Johnathan and James agreed. James spoke up and said, "It would be even better if we could pick any two powers or abilities to take with us if we did." They all agreed and told each other what they would pick. As they started to fall asleep, with the game still on, lightning struck and the room went white.
When the brothers awoke, their heads were hurting pretty bad. They reached up to rub their heads and realized their hands were tied. Looking around, they saw they were sitting on some type of a cart and headed down a bumpy trail. The three brothers are shocked to realize where they are!As they begin to get their bearings, they hear a voice say, "Hey! You guys are finally awake! You were trying to cross the border, right? You walked right into an imperial ambush, same as us, and same as that thief over there."
The brothers look at each other and realize they resemble their game characters, minus a few changes, that they were just discussing before the lightning struck.
The imperial soldier driving the carriage shouts "SHUT UP BACK THERE!" Lokir, the horse thief, is staring at a gagged man that is in the cart with them. Lokir says "What's wrong with him?"
"Watch your tongue. You are speaking to Ulfric Stormcloak, the true and high King" replies Ralof.
He is the leader of the rebellion, but if they captured him…."Oh God, where are they taking us?" Lokir asked. Ralof replies "I do not know where we are going but Sovngarde awaits."
As Lokir becomes frantic, the three brothers get a good look at themselves. James is a 5'10" Brenton with short, spikey, dark brown hair, blue eyes, and a swimmer's build. He is wearing prison garb, just like his brothers. Desmon is a six-foot-tall red guard with shoulder-length black hair, brown eyes, a short beard with a warrior's build. While James and Desmon are somewhat normal, Johnathon is a seven-foot-tall Nord, bald-headed, with a sizable beard. His eyes are smokey grey and he is stocky with a 300-pound muscular build. He has a red stripe tattooed on his body, that begins under his left eye, goes up and over his head, down his back, around his left side, under and up to his shoulder, down his arm, and rises back up in a half-circle.
James asks his brothers, "How did we get here?" Desmon whispers,"this is awesome." Johnathon ignores Desmon but responds to James, "I do not know James but we will figure that out after we escape Helgan." James nods. The brothers turn back as they hear a soldier shout "General Tullius, Sir! The headsman is waiting!" General Tullius replies "Good! Let's get this over with! It looks like the Thalmor is with him." "Damn elves!", says Ralof. The imperial driver shouts "WHOA" and stops the carriage. "Get these prisoners out of the carts!"
The caption of the guard yells to the prisoners "MOVE IT!" Loki mumbles "Why are we stopping?" Ralof replies, "Why do you think? It is the end of the line,Let's go so we do not keep the gods waiting."
The captain hollers "Step towards the block when we call your name and one at a time!"
The guard, Hadvar, bellows out "ULFRIC STORMCLOAK! JARL OF WINDHELM! RALOF OF RIVERWOOD! LOKIR OF RORIKSTEAD!"
Lokir shouts, "You cannot do this! I am not a rebel!" As Lokir starts to run, Desmon trips him. "What?! That's one less chance of one of us going to the axe first." he says to his brothers. Noticing all the commotion, Harvar yells "You three, step forward! Who are you? State your names!" Johnathon steps forward to give their first names, along with the last name they had previously chosen, which was StormCaller. Hadvar looks to the captain and asks what should be done with the three brothers, as they are not on the list. The captain sneers, "Forget the list! They are going to the block."
No one notices the yellow flash in James' eyes before they return to their original color. Hadvar yells "By your orders, Captain! Prisoners, follow the Captain!"
As the prisoners reach the block, the General was beginning his speech. "Ulfric Stormcloak, some here in Helgan call you a hero but a hero doesn't use power, like the voice, to murder his king and usurp his throne. You started this war and plunged Skyrim into chaos, and now the empire is going to put you down and restore the peace." At that moment, a roar is heard in the distance. The soldiers think nothing of the noise but the brothers know what is coming.
The first stormcloak is executed, as the brothers try to distract themselves. James comments "Did you guys notice how much bigger Helgan is than it was in the game?" Desmon replies "So what? That is to be expected." James wonders out loud "So how much do you want to bet that what is coming is also bigger?"As Desmon begins to curse, they look over the see the headless body of the stormcloak be pushed aside and a second roar sounds out. The captain cries "Next!" as she looks at what she assumes are the adopted brothers. "Next the giant nord", she bellows.
Johnathon walks forward and kneels as the executioner forces him down. Before the executioner has time to swing his axe, a third roar rings out and Alduin lands on top of the tower with a piercing roar that knocks everyone to the ground. Johnathon jumps back to his feet and steps back to join his brothers. The brothers pause for a second to look up and see the sky blacken as Alduin prepares to shout again.
The brothers begin to run as flaming rocks fall all over the town destroying it.They hear General Tullius shouting to kill it and to protect the towns' people as they enter a tower with the door closing behind them. Johnathon snaps his binding and then helps his brothers out of theirs. They turn around just as Ralof asks Ulfric if the legends are true. "Legends do not burn down villages" he replies.
Desmon looks to make sure no one is listening and whispers "How are we going to do this or more specifically, what are we going to do now?" James replies "First, we have to get out of Helgan in one piece; then, we should probably follow along with the story until we reach Whiterun." Johnathon responds "Sounds like a plan, if I ever heard one!" James states "Well then, we better get moving because it looks like they are heading up towards the tower."
Before the brothers are able to reach the top, one of the walls crumbles as Alduin breathes fire into the tower killing two people before flying off. Without hesitation, the brothers jump down and head towards the keep, and meet Hadvar as they enter. Hadvar watches as they enter stating "I'm glad you three made it and you even got the bindings off; that saves time. Now look around and grab what you might need because we need to get out of here soon!" Soon after the brothers return after picking their weapons and clothing, they are donning imperial light armor, boots, and a helmet, except for Johnathon who couldn't fit the armor on,but has a steel battle axe on his back and two handheld axes on his waist. Desmon is wearing a bow and a quiver of arrows on his back with a couple of sheathed daggers on his waist. James is wearing a single imperial sword on his waist. They look for anything else of value that they could use.
Desmon and Johnathon found about 150 septims while James brought 6 large sacks. James explained to his brothers that since they have no inventory, these will have to do for now. His brothers nod in agreement and then tie two of each to their waists. The brothers take a moment to get used to their new bodies as Desmon proclaims, "We are going to have to kill soon." Johnathon remarks that it is going to come down to them or us in the end.
James concentrates and soon his hand is coated in fire before abruptly ending. He smiles at his brothers and tells them they shouldn't be constricted to using spells as they were in the game. The more will and concentration the stronger the spell it seems.
Johnathon replies, "Come on, it's time to go." They walk over to where Hadvar is waiting by the entrance to the corridor. Hadvar asks if they are ready to go farther down and that there should be a way out. They nod and start walking down the hall and stop at a gate where they hear two stormcloaks talking. Hadvar whispers "Hear that? Stormcloaks. Maybe we can reason with them." When Hadvar opens the gate to try to talk to them, the stormcloaks charge with their weapons drawn. Desmon and Johnathon charge as well. Desmon blocks a sword with three-foot-long claws where his hand used to be, with a few spikes going up along his arm. The stormcloak stares at the spikes and then turn his head, eyes wide to Desmon and asks, "What are you?!" Desmon grins, knees him in the gut, twirls around while breaking his sword, and decapitates him before returning his arm back to normal. On the other side of the room, Johnathon stops his opponent's great sword with his battle axe then knocks it out of his hands. Johnathon then holsters his ax and grabs the man, lifting him over his head, before slamming him into the ground cracking it, then proceeds to grab him by the leg, throwing him across the room into a wall, snapping his neck.
When the brothers started to fight, Hadvar was going to step in and help but before he could, he watched in horror as Desmon's arm sprouted claws and spikes, and killed his enemy. Then stood in awe as Johnathon manhandled his opponent. These three are definitely not normal, Hadvar thought. After looting the bodies of anything useful, they went through the next door, down some stairs, and entered a hallway. Before they could continue on, they heard a loud roar and the ceiling collapsed in front of them.
As they go through the door on the left, they come upon a storeroom with two other people in it. The brothers make eye contact and James nods and steps forward. As the two stormcloaks go to attack, James waves his hand and says, "You are going to kill yourselves right now!" They hesitate and repeat "I am going to kill myself right now!" before taking their swords and slitting their own throats. "What was that all about?" Hadvar asks. James tells him that is what happens when you have a weak mind.
Hadvar looks at him and sighs before telling him to look around for potions that must be here somewhere. As his brothers search the bodies for things of value, James finds a barrel with potions inside. There are three health potions, two being magika potions and one a stamina potion. He quickly puts them in his sack. His Brothers Johnathon and Desmon find some alchemy ingredients and more septims. After taking all the valuables, they head down to the next room which happens to be the torture room.
As they get there, they find the captain from before, with the torturer and his assistant finishing the killing of two more stormcloaks. "Halt prisoners! Into the cells now!" sneers the captain. "But captain, the dragon is burning down the city! We need to get out of here!" says Hadvar. The captain replies "We will soldier once they are in their cells." "But captain, they will die if they stay here" argues Hadvar. "So, what! They are associates of the rebels. Skyrim would be better with them gone" the captain sneers. As they argue, James' eyes start to turn yellow until they glow sulfur. With a loud growl, he thrusts his hands forward and fires a torrent of purple lightning at the captain, throwing her off her feet and into a wall, leaving nothing but a charred corpse. James then turns and throws a wall of force that blasts the torturer and his assistant off their feet and into the opposite wall, killing them instantly. James' eyes begin to return to normal and Hadvar breaks out of his shock and shouts "What have you done?!?" James replies "I did what was needed to get us out alive and whatever it took to spare you being labeled a traitor."
Hadvar stares off for a moment before sighing and deciding to just grab what he could and keep going. Desmon grabs the keys off the torturer's dead body and unlocks all of the cells and armory door and removes the valuables. He gives the mage robes and hood, with a magika regan enchantment, to James to put on, along with a spell tome sparks, a few books, and two minor magika potions. He hands the iron shield and mace to Johnathon to put on his belt and takes the lockpicks for himself, as well as another iron dagger. The gold is split between the three brothers.
In the next hallway, there are rows of cells with skeletons. Desmon stops to harvest bone meal from the skeletons and takes the septims around their bodys. They enter a cave and see ten more stormcloaks. Before they could do anything, an arrow lodges itself through Desmon's arm but he just rips it out. Black and red tendrils cover and heal the wound, not leaving an inkling of a scar. Without hesitation, Desmon jumps off the railing dissecting two enemies with his claws while the same black and red tendrils strike out into the dead bodies and absorb them, adding their mass value into his body, leaving nothing behind of them. While he was doing that, James had used the flame spell to set fire to the oil that the others were standing on, burning them alive. Another enemy was sent flying with such an unimaginable force that he was instantly killed.
Johnathon grabbed two more enemies, disarming them, and snapping their necks while Hadvar dispatched the last one. After looting everything else in the area, they pulled down the lever, lowering the draw bridge and walking across. Once they reach the other side, another roar is heard and the ceiling collapses, destroying the bridge."No going back that way" Hadvar comments, as they head through a tunnel while the brothers collects another health potion and bag of septims.
As they come upon a cavern, they notice it is filled with cobwebs. As they enter, two small and two large frostbite spiders drop down from the ceiling of the cavern. Desmon kills them and collects their venom in some empty wine bottles they found. They exit that cavern and enter another cave. After grabbing a coin pouch, health potion, a bottle of alto wine, and black briar mead, they spot a bear sleeping on the other side of the cave. Desmon takes his bow off his back and notches two arrows in quick cessation, killing the bear. As they exit the cave, they pull Hadvar down as Alduin flies off with a tremendous roar.
