When the dragons leave again for Dragon Island, just before Berk's biggest holiday, Hiccup and his friends find a way to pass the time until they return, in the form of a new game. However, though it helps them not to dwell on how much they miss their dragons, it also causes all sorts of craziness and shenanigans, much to the confusion of everyone else on Berk.

Set before the first movie. Hiccup wakes up on Snoggletog morning, grumpy. He hasn't really had a happy holiday in years, and he knows this one will be no different. This is a novelization of Httyd, with a twist. For starters, Hiccup is a girl named Emer. Second, she has a twin sister named Gilda. Emer wishes to not be an outcast anymore, Gilda just wishes for them both to live. That's hard to do for two weak but smart girls in a society of war, bloodshed and battle ready Vikings. Emer downs a deadly dragon, and life changes for them both.

Hiccup Haddock has always felt like something was missing from his life but couldn't figure out what. He knows that he's not like his fellow peers but he'll realize that he's been looking for acceptance in all the wrong places.
