Sam and Dean finish one job only to have another fall into their laps when Baby gets turned into a human. Dean blames witches, Sam is fascinated and Cas gets jealous.

"Dean," Bobby warns. He moves forward and places a gentle hand on Dean's shoulder. He knows Dean is about to shatter, but he stands by him regardless of the impending shrapnel. "He's got a pulse," Dean breathes, and Bobby almost doesn't hear him. "He what?" Bobby chokes out a breath, guilt crashing over him like a tsunami.

Dean finds Castiel after being forced to kick him out of the Bunker and makes an attempt at helping the now ex-angel. A fix it of sorts.

The world was not calibrated to Castiel's Grace, his true voice, or his touch. And neither was Dean.

Sam fights the lead weight pressing down on his skull and opens his eyes, flinching at the dim glow of the streetlights. He finds his brother's face hovering over him. And for the first time since John's death, there's raw emotion on Dean's face. Cold terror. And that's when Sam knows it's bad. Set in early season 2.

Sam and Dean investigate a killing which left its victim a dried-up husk in a pool of blood.

Leave it to the Winchester boys to turn a simple salt-and-burn into life-or-death bullshit. Bobby wants to scold the two brothers, but he needs to get Sam out of danger first before he can bitch at him. Dean can't hear his heart pounding over the cacophony, but he can feel it galloping in his chest as tries to take a moment to breathe, to reassess the situation. Then every window shatters. Glass blows in from every direction, as if Dean is ground zero for some sort of cosmic shrapnel bomb. He cries out, he thinks, as he feels his skin slice open in several places. S04 ep01
