He does his best to move on, but every chance he gets he finds himself back at the river, praying to his dead best friend because he doesn't know what else to do now that Castiel is gone. Sam and Gabriel decide to make an adventure of their night out. They go wherever the road takes them, and end up at a Fun house, where they meet Dean and Castiel, who are already there. Sam meets up with an old phobia, and they only end up staying for a short period of time.

While hunting on a job, Claire Pierce finds that she is not alone. The Winchester brothers are also on the chase of the nest of vampires. With the death of her father, she is left to be taken care of by Sam and Dean. She has never worked with someone, she's used to doing the 'solo' charade. During her time with the Winchester brothers she starts to fall for Sam.

Coping with Castiel's death has so far proved difficult for Dean, and when Gabriel shows up out of nowhere with a box of Cas' old things, it doesn't really help - especially when Dean looks through it and finds Cas' journal, because he's not exactly sure he wants to know what it says.
