Summary:
Trigger warning! Blood, not lots of it but there is blood in this chapter!
Uraraka gets the fire user first year to Deku. They get his bleeding stopped. They still need to get out... but how?
Eijiro was leaning against the wall, taking a breather between attacks and listening to his classmates over the coms. From what he'd heard, Ashido had just gotten the first year and was running to Uraraka while Twice focused on his group. He was at the main entrance, protecting the civilians with Bakugo. They had the help of a set of twins and their twin quirks from class 1 B, a type of barrier that was swirls of gold and silver. He was on one side with Bakugo, fighting off the clones of Twice, and they were on the other side, their barrier covering the south end of the mall, protecting everyone.
"Hey Shitty Hair, go check if Metal Face has had any luck with the doors." Bakugo said as they tried to catch their breath, and Eijiro complied, they had a few minutes before the clones showed up for the next round. One of the twins let him through the barrier, while the silver eyed twin smiled at him. They had introduced themselves as Tsuki and Taiyo Baria, class 1 B. He watched as Monoma walked up to the other twin. He just rolled his eyes and kept walking to where Tetsutetsu was trying to break down the reinforced lock down door that was covering the main doors.
"Need help?" He asked as he activated his quirk, and together they managed to pry a corner of the door inwards. Suddenly, they heard a distinct beeping. "Shit!" He screamed and he knew he screwed up. As he braced for the explosion, though, he felt someone grab the back of his shirt and yank backwards. He looked up to see Monoma there, both hands outstretched as he used the borrowed barrier quirk from the twins.
"T-thanks," he coughed out as the smoke began to clear, revealing the door. Or what was left of them. As Monoma let the barrier drop the remains of the door fell agains the frame, the corner of it where they had managed to pry it open revealed another complication.
"Is that?" Tetsutetsu began as he walked forward, Eijiro following him. He reached out his hand and pressed against a solid barrier of dark purple smoke.
"I think so, yeah." They were truly trapped now. Right then Yaoyorozu came over the earpiece.
"Guys, we need another first year. Her name is Himawari Moyasu, and she has a fire quirk." She paused, listening to the first year there describe her. "She normally has short dark hair and most of the time the ends are in golden flames. She was in a group with a set of twins."
"I've actually seen her!" Kirishima quickly ran to where the twins were, where the girl had thankfully been staying near them. She had managed to get Bakugo a bottle of water, which he seemed to be chugging it down gratefully.
"She's at the main entrance with us!" Unfortunately, right as he said that he saw the next round of Twice clones appear. "We've got company though!" He was getting ready to join Bakugo when he heard Uraraka's voice over the coms, and faintly from above.
"Incoming!"
Ochaco was darting between the support pillars, taking in the situation. Yaoyorozu and the rest of her group were up on the fifth floor, trying to keep Midoriya alive, Yaoyorozu was keeping tabs on everyone and directing everyone the best she could given the situation. Hagakure and her group were trying to fight off the villains that were guarding the hostages, she could hear them over her earpiece. Finally, Bakugo and his group were taking a break between attacks at the main entrance. There was still no word from Vlad King, Midnight, Iida, or Shinso. She hoped they were okay.
She looked over the railing as Kirishima called out that the girl they were looking for was with them, right as the Twice clones started again. She did the only thing she could think of. She jumped.
"Incoming!" She yelled as she dropped from the third floor, landing right behind Bakugo, falling into the familiar motions of fighting along side him. They had been training together since the beginning of the school year, so their teamwork was flawless. She didn't even flinch as they faced each other as he let off an AP blast, his hand right next to her ear. "Increase!" She yelled, and the clones floating above them slammed into the ground, turning into a black mud-like substance upon impact, covering them both.
"Thanks Pink Cheeks," Bakugo grunted as he wiped the mud off his face. "How's Deku?"
"Not good. I came for a first year. Kirishima says he found her."
"This way," he grunted and one of the twins opened their barrier and let them through. Kirishima was talking intently to the first year she came for, the girl's flaming hair getting brighter the more he talked.
"Kirishima," Ochaco called out and he turned, a sharp toothed grin appearing when he saw her.
"Uraraka! Nice job, very manly." He turned to the girl. "Looks like your ride is here. As much as we wish you could stay and fight Deku needs you."
"Wait, Kirishima, who's fighting?"
"Me and Bakugo mainly, though we could probably get Tetsutetsu now that the doors are down. Plus the twins over there are amazing."
"The doors are down?" Ochaco was confused. If they were down they'd be able to get out.
"Yeah, but there is some type of barrier quirk keeping us in."
"Why aren't the third years fighting?"
"Ask them yourself," Bakugo jerked his thumb over to where a group of third years were standing in a group. Ochaco started to storm over there, but Kirishima held her back.
"Kirishima, let me go or I'll float you into the sun once we're out of here!" She growled as she struggled against him.
"They're not worth it, Pink Cheeks," Bakugo snarled in their direction. "They're in the hero course, but they don't understand what it means to be a hero. They just have flashy quirks and at the rate they're going they'll never go pro." One of the girls flinched as if he had slapped her.
"You should be ashamed!" She yelled, face going red. "You are about to graduate, to become actual heroes! And when someone actually needs your help you're just standing there!" She still struggled against Kirishima's hold, screaming at the third years. "My best friend isdyingbut he is still helping! You shouldn't be allowed to call yourself heroes. Heroes help others! They don't stand there, doing nothing!" Ochaco was going to berate them again when Bakugo stepped in front of her.
"Breathe, Pink Cheeks. Would Deku want this?" She shook her head. "I've got this, I don't need them. Now get that girl to Deku so that I can kick his ass for getting shot." They turned from the disgraced third years and went back to the twins, where Monoma was talking with the golden eyed twin.
"So how are we doing this?" Bakugo asked as he stretched. The next round of clones would be coming soon.
"I was thinking of floating us up there."
"Too dangerous, we don't know if there are any long distance attackers."
"It would take too long to take the ground route. He's already lost too much blood."
"What if I came with you?" A voice asked from the side, where the silver eyed twin was watching them.
"We need you here kid," Bakugo huffed.
"The loudmouth over there was talking with Taiyo about our quirk. He believes he can help."
"So Shit Talker wants to help," Bakugo said with a laugh.
"If he wants to help I say let him. We won't have a choice soon anyway- that clone dude is going to be back any minute." Kirishima said as he kept lookout for him.
"I'll take you, but we have to hurry." Ochaco urged. They let their half of the barrier drop and joined their classmate by her side. She watched as Monoma and the other twin walked to the halfway point of the main entrance, where he placed his hands on their shoulders. A swirling barrier of gold and blue appeared, right as more clones showed up from the far end of the mall.
"Come on kids, hold on tight!" She used her quirk on herself before grabbing both first years and using her quirk on them as well. "Bakugo, throw us!" Wasting no time he did just that, and as she flew away she spoke to him over the coms. "Bakugo, Deku took those bullets for us. He knew something was wrong before we did."
"Figures," came his reply, followed by a string of curses.
"Can anyone hear me?" A new voice came over her earpiece.
"Iida?" She was relieved to hear his voice that she nearly dropped the first years, but it was good she didn't. Several gun shots rang out, and the twin in her grip used their quirk just in time. She looked in the direction they came from and saw a villain on the fourth floor watching her, dark hair covering her face with her hands outstretched, the barrel of a gun coming from her palm. They made it to the fifth floor just in time as she released her quirk, pushing the two forward. "It's the coffee shop straight ahead. Ashido, I'm sending them to you."
"Uraraka! Where are you going?" Ashido came over the coms.
"Unfinished business. I just saw the one who shot Deku…" She said in a dark voice as she made her way to the nearest set of stairs.
"Be careful," Momo warned as she listened to what Iyasu was talking about with Kinzoku. She had already made what they need to do the blood transfusion while waiting for the other first year to get here. Momo heard Ashido's voice from the other room, directing the first year to them. When the girl walked in the flames of her hair almost went out at the sight of the situation, there was so much blood.
"N-no one said it was this bad." Momo got up and wrapped her arms around the shaking girl.
"No one ever thinks to say something the first time. I was younger than you when I was in my first villain attack. But we will get through this! Without you here he might not make it." She whispered in the girl's ear. "Right now I need you to listen to Iyasu, since he will be directing you three." She led the girl to Midoriya's side where she sat opposite Iyasu and Kinzoku, Nami pacing as she waited.
"Kinzoku," she said in a small voice. Momo could tell she was unsure of herself.
"Moyasu," the other replied, just as unsure. Momo listened in as Iyasu explained his plan to the girls. He was going to use his quirk and guide Kinzoku on removing the bullet. They had to use extreme caution so she didn't nick the artery and cause even more bleeding. Nami was then going to heal the artery in his shoulder, and once Nami was done Moyasu was to use her quirk to cauterize his wounds. Then, when the bleeding stopped Nami would provide a blood transfusion with his help. Momo had all the supplies for the transfusion and was just making more gauze, though Midoriya was going through it almost as fast as she could make it.
"Kinzoku, are you ready?" Iyasu asked as Momo cradled Midoriya's head in her lap. He had a piece of her belt in his mouth to bite down on, his earpiece off to the side so that his inevitable screams didn't startle their classmates. The redhead gave him a small nod and began to gently use her quirk. She listened to Midoriya's muffled cries around the belt as he bit down, trying his best to stay still. She whispered soothing words as she wiped his tears.
"A little towards you," he guided her, his voice a focal point in all the chaos. "Almost there. Now straight out."
"I-I got it!" She gasped, and quickly moved out of the way for Nami. She reached up and made a face as she had to stick her finger into the wound at his shoulder, shedidsay she had to touch the wound. After a moment she moved so Moyasu could put a white-hot hand on the wound on his hip. Iyasu guided her as well, telling her to only hold it there for a couple seconds at a time. By the time the bleeding stopped from his hip, Midoriya was sweating and panting- she had no idea how he was still conscious. They then moved to the shoulder where the bleeding was the worst, the red head now moving Midoriya just enough so the other could reach both wounds with her still white-hot hands.
Once again Momo was trying her best to sooth him. She didn't know how much longer she could do this. After a minute or so the bleeding had stopped and they were moving to the last one. She saw the two first years were looking rather pale. "Last one, I promise." She moved the sweaty hair from his face. Anything to distract him.
Hands once again pressed into him, and he screamed once again, but after a moment it was finally over. Midoriya was no longer bleeding out on the floor. Her lips brushed his brow in a soothing, friendly way as she heard the sound of the two girls scrambling to get away. Nami was sitting there, eyes forward as she watched Iyasu work.
"Take care of him," Momo said as she stood up and Iyasu nodded as he got him ready for the transfusion. She entered the employee bathroom and found the two girls side by side, one leaning over the toilet while the other was over the trashcan. She knelt behind the two, and ran a comforting hand across their backs as they both heaved. "You two did amazing. I'm so proud of you." Right now all she could do was try to comfort, and sometimes that was all that was needed.
Tenya knew something was wrong when his earpiece in his pocket had gone off, since someone had alerted the class to put them on. Unfortunately Midnight had pulled him and Shinso to the side before he could get the chance.
"Act casual, we're being followed." She said as she guided them into a random shop. "Vlad doubled back to follow them." She pretended to look through the merchandise, keeping her eyes on the entrance. "Do you have a way to contact your class?" Shinso nodded, and holding out the earpiece that he pulled out of his jacket pocket. Right as one of the shelves full of merchandise flew at them, Tenya had just enough time to pull them both out of the way.
Standing in the entry was a small nomu about his size, this one actually had a hoodie on to help it blend in with the crowd, which was new.
"Get us out of here, Iida!" Midnight yelled, as the shop was too small to fight in. He adjusted the two of them under his arms for a better grip.
"Recipro Burst," He sped out of the shop, passing panicking civilians trying to find cover from the nomu. "Where is Vlad King?" Tenya asked as he skid to a stop, depositing the two he was carrying.
"He was supposed to get behind us and catch whoever was following us." They turned the corner to find a way out, and there he was; captured in a cocoon of dark purple smoke, smoke which had started to pour out the broken window at the end of the hall. Tenya dropped the two and prepared for a fight.
"Iida, Shinso, get the civilians out of here!" Midnight yelled as she rushed the nomu holding the other pro captive, barely dodging the swing of its large fists. This one was slow, so the two of them made their way to the end of the hall and escorted the handful of civilians away from where Midnight was fighting.
They should've stayed to help. They heard a scream, from both Midnight and Vlad, and turned to see the nomu from the shop, holding Midnight upside down by the leg. Tenya watched, helpless as she activated her quirk, only for it to be ineffective against the nomu.
She caught Tenya's gaze right before it swung. "RUN!" She hit the ground with a sickening crunch- though she was still conscious, struggling to get out of its hold. When it went to swing again it's arm had stretched and she hit the wall. It swung her around like a rag doll several more times while Tenya stood there, helpless. He had to do something.
It went to swing her once more when a thin, razor sharp ribbon of blood sliced through its arm, allowing an unconscious Midnight to fly free. Tenya looked over at Vlad King and could see a thin strand of blood coming from his lip where he had bitten down to get blood.
"RUN!" He roared at them. "Get her to safety!"
"We're students of UA! We can't ju-" He was cut off as the pro yelled at him.
"You arestudents!I am yourteacher! It is our job to protect you! And as your teacher and a pro hero I'm telling you torun!"Tenya was torn. He felt the need to stay and help, but he was ordered to leave.
"Iida," Shinso spoke up from beside him, and he looked over and the purple haired teen was watching him.
"Shinso," everything went fuzzy as his quirk was activated on him.
"Pick up Midnight and follow me." And so he felt himself follow the orders, felt his feet move without his consent, and he followed Shinso as he ran.
