It was that time of the week to go grocery shopping for the upcoming week. Which is why Reisi was out in the city during his lunch break and heading to his favorite supermarket.
He stopped when he heard some noises in an alley he was starting to pass. He sighed. Reisi really hoped it was just some gang members talking and not something he needed to break up.
It turned out to be neither. This scene...it was like something out of a nightmare. Splashes of red painted the walls and ground. About three bodies were gathered, writhing things munching on the remains of their flesh. Worms, perhaps? They were much thicker than normal ones and looked akin to giant isopods.
Something about this scene told Reisi he shouldn't linger. Especially upon seeing the blue-haired man at the center of the mess just watching the bugs eat their fill. To the King, he didn't seem human and probably shouldn't be messed with without a plan.
His back was to Reisi, so the captain hoped he was still unnoticed. It was a fair ways back to the street, but if he slowly retreats-
"You aren't planning to leave already?"
It happened right away. Two people tackled Reisi to the ground from behind. No, they were probably like zombies if the fact most of their flesh was chewed away was any indication. Before he could do anything to defend himself, one of the zombies grabbed a fistful of his hair and slammed the King's head into the ground, making stars explode in his vision and some liquid run down his face.
"I was hoping to eat without anyone seeing me, but I suppose that was too much to hope for. I can't have anyone come after me, which you could easily arrange given your position. Now I have trash I need to clean up." Through his doubling and blurred - his glasses appear to be shattered - vision, he saw the man approach, two fuzzy red circles fixed on him. Reisi then felt things fall on him, making him look back at the zombies. Dark things seemed to be coming out of them. Then one of those things sprung at his face. It was one of those bugs from before. Those fangs quickly began digging into Reisi's skull through his eye.
He tried to scream in pain, but only whistling came from his throat where another bug had eaten a hole through his trachea.
'Lan...cer...help...'
'What?! I'm headin' to your location! Teleport me over!'
'I...can't...'
'Why not?!'
Reisi's head was too foggy at this point to process what his Servant just asked. The world around him seemed to be fading out. He could no loger feel the warmth of his blood as it left him nor the countless bugs that ate him from the inside out.
Dead end
