Titan of the Forest

"Ahh so you made it to Viridian City. Congratulations on being the first one to making it there by the way." Professor Oak said once making back to the Pokemon Center, Slate decided to call his sponser updating him on his progress.
Slate grinned at the news first he gets that bootyful red head as a rival and he's the first to make it to Viridian. "Thanks Professor Oak and I caught few pokemon."
"I've noticed a Poliwag, a Nidoran and huh a Shellder surprised you put in the effort those are known for being docile and mostly harmless." The Professor said with an eye closed smile missing the annoyed look the young man gave him.
"Sure docile." Slate grumpled under his breath. He still had the clamp marks on his arm.
"Oh I almost forgot." Slamming his fist into his palm. "May wanted everyone trainer to call her once you win your first badge. You know May always caring about the new trainers." With that he hung up leaving Slate to his thoughts.

Sitting at a camp fire in the Viridian forest it is a intense tone as Slate passes out food to his pokemon even Shellder who looks between the food and glaring at the human offering it.
Bulbasaur and Poliwag merely looked at the food before them neihter attempting to eat.
"That's enough both of you!" Slate growled startling his pokemon. "We lost get over, I told you before we even got there what we were up against. We now know what the strongest Gym Leader in Kanto is made of that means we know what the first step of our goal is. So no more crying no more mopping starting tomorrow we are going to all train our asses off till we defeat every gym and trainer until were at the top of Kanto! First Kanto then the World!"
Inspired by their trainers words three of the four pokemon jumped to their feet joining in with their trainer.
"Good now eat tomorrow we are all getting our levels up." Slate said with a smile at his teams convictions to gaining strength.
This moment of camaraderie was quickly ended as seeing an opportunity Shellder lunged forward biting Slate on the hand again.
Slate gritted his teeth refusing to cry out in pain. His pokemon watched as the pain on his face was slowly replaced with a look of anger.
"That's enough! After what I just said you still try this crap!" Slate grunts out grabbing a stick on the ground. "I don't know what you have against me but enough!" he said shouting the last bit as he pryed the shell open with the stick before wedging it open.
Now looking into the now surprised face of the Bivalve Pokémon. "I've had enough of this crap. Until you decide to be apart of this team." Cocking his already injuried hand back "Then we don't need you!" Slate shouted as the punch struck the surpised pokemon in the face.
The punch was Super Effective as Shellder crashed into the tree. Sliding down the tree to the ground the water type closed her shell. After several minutes Shellder's shell remained closed not even cracking open an inch.
Hands on his hips Slate rolled his eyes at the display. "Wuss after that whole speach about getting stronger she pulls this after one hit." Returning his pokemon he turns to the rest of the team. "So who wants seconds?"
"Nidaa!" Nidoran chirped happily the tense mood gone at the prospect of more food.

"98...99...Arceus..100!" Slate growled out as he dropped from the tree he did pull ups on. "Alright everyone take a breather." He said as he removed the rocks from his ankles. At this everyone of his pokemon dropped to the ground exhaustion hitting all of them.
All of them wearing set of heavy rocks as weights. All except Shellder who still refused to leave her pokeball.
"I got to get a couple of Macho Brace somewhere."
Just as the weights were removed a sound the group have gotten used to quickly came barreling through the forest toward them.
"Urgh these guys again Bulbasaur your up Sleep Powder follow up with your new move." Nodding at the order Bulbasaur stepped up as a light blue powder sprinkled into the direction of the sound. Seconds later a swarm of Beedrill flew through the powder sending them to the ground.
"Seed Bomb!"
The center of Bulbasaur's bud starts to glow white. It then fires multiple glowing green seeds from it that explodes on impact at the Beedrill. The cloud of smoke faded revealing the small army of bee pokemon all unable to battle.
Slate's shoulders slumped in annoyance. "This like what the fourth, fifth time today. Maybe I shouldn't have caught their leader." Slate states sure they were useful for training but it was getting annoying. "Probably shouldn't let him out till we get out the forest." the nods from the rest of the group confirmed this belief.
Not needing another Beedrill Slate returned his team as he continued to travel through the forest.
"Stop!" a voice shouted causing Slate to look to the voice seeing a boy, dressed up like a samurai, with an actual katana sheathed on his hip. "Are you a Pokemon Trainer?" he asked eyeing the belt Slate wore.
"You know it." Slate gave a thumbs up with a smile truly loving his career. "Just started yesterday, got my start in Pallet Town."
"A trainer from Pallet Town I've heard stories of the trainers that come from there." the youth drew a pokeball. "My name is Samurai we must battle my friend."
Liking the enthusiasm Slate drew in own Pokeball. "Bring it on."
"Excellent does 2 on 2 sound good to you!?"
"Sure does."
At this the two threw there Pokeballs into the field.
"Time to throwdown Bulbasaur."
"Go Pinsir."
Out came Bulbasaur and a bipedal, coleopteran insectoid Pokémon with a wide, dull-brown body divided into segments by thin lines. On top of its head is a large pair of gray, spiky pincers on top of its head. In its mouth are many long, flat teeth arranged horizontally and it has triangular eyes.
"I'll go first Pinsir use Tackle!" Giving a war cry Pinsir charges forward attempting to slam it's foe with it's whole body.
"Use Leech Seed." a seed sprouts from Bulbasaur's bulb, which shoots out to the opponent. Pinsir charging forward was unable to dodge as it becomes wrapped in thin vines and leaves that restrain it.
"Use Seed Bomb."
Knowing the attack Samurai shouted to his pokemon. "Pinsir you have to dodge now!" With all the strength it could muster Pinsir rolled out of the away of the attack. "Great now use Dig!"
"Sir!" A large pillar of sand and dust appears around Golem as it digs into the ground.
"Bulbasaur get out of there." he ordered was ignored as seconds later Pinsir rose from the ground.
Use Vicegrip! Pinsir grabs Bulbasaur with the horns on its head.
Gritting his teeth Slate watched as Pinsir began to squeeze his starter. Looking at the bug type hoping for a chance to escape he smirked.
"Bulbasaur vine whip it's knees."
Hearing the order Bulbasaur's vine shot out striking it in the knees buckling it under it's own weight causing it to drop Bulbasaur.
"Bulbasaur VineTackle." Charging forward Bulbasaur rushed forward before slamming his vines into the ground propelling himself with a tackle into the bug type sending it soaring through the air into a tree.
The bug type with swirls in it's eyes signaling it's knockout.
"Pinsir No!" Samurai cried out before returning his pokemon. Throwing another ball Samurai stared his oppenet down. "You may have won this battle but you'll fall before my last pokemon." Samurai said as he threw his pokeball.
Slate looked worried as he returned Bulbasaur not sure what he was up against but decided to go in with a fresh pokemon. Senting out Poliwag the two waited nervous at what they could be up against.
"Go Metapod!"

Both trainer and pokemon looked to each other, then back to the stationaty pokemon, back to each other, then to Samurai who looked very serious.
Distacted by this Samurai started the battle. "Metapod use String Shot." Metapod shoots white string from the middle of its body and ties up the Poliwag. With a mighty tug Metapod pulled Poliwag up to it.
"Now use Bug Bite." Once close enough Metapod leaned forward before biting the water type.
Slate realized two things one Samurai had this Metapod since it was a Caterpie and second apparently Metapods had teeth.
"Poliwag use Bubble Beam." At point blank range Metapod could do nothing as a barrage of bubbles bombarded it.
"Quick use Harden." Metapod glows a greenish-whitish color when the light fades the bug type seemed shinier.
"Use String Shot to get away." with that order Metapod shot a web into a nearby tree getting some distance.
"Don't let it get away use Water Gun."
Charging forward Poliwag blasted the ground propeling him past the bug type landing on the tree it was aiming for. "Send it to the ground with Pound."
"Metapod dodge!" Samurai cried out but it was to late.
Jumping from the tree Poliwag went into a frontward somersault slamming his tail into the ascending Metapod.
A loud BAM was follow by a THUD was all she wrote as the combined pound to the ground put Metapod out of the battle.
Winner: Slate from Pallet Town.
After returning his pokemon Samurai walked to his opponent with his hand extended. "I seems victory is yours my friend." Clasping hands he continues to talk. "It seems I must continue to train if I am to defeat the Titan of the Forest."
"Titan?" While Slate wasn't familiar with the Viridian forest he definitely should have heard about this.
Nodding his head Samurai continued. "Yes it is a pokemon rampaging through the forest defeating anyone that crosses it's path. I have made it my goal to defeat and capture the Titan, placing him on my team to win the Pokemon League!" he shouted to the heavens.
"You do you bro." Slate said happy to hear this defeat didn't damper his spirit.
"Yes first I will heal my pokemon then continue my hunt for the Titan! Until we meet again my Friend!" With that Samurai ran into the forest.
Shrugging Slate continued his own way.

"Nidoran use Thunderbolt!" (1)
Nidoran's horn sparks with yellow electricity as she releases a beam of yellow electricity from his body at the opponent. This lasted only a second before the bolt ended and in it's end several Spearow fell to the ground.
It had been about an hour since the battle with Samurai and since then there have been a constant influx of pokemon coming his way almost as if they were running from something. While Slate would have moved out of there way most decided that attacking him quickly became there main goal.
"That's my girl!" Slate cheered as he picked up Nidoran who being his most affectionate pokemon quickly nuzzled his cheek. "Whoever left you was a fool. Your just so awesome." Nidoran leaned leaned up kissing Slate's cheek adoring the praise.
Smiling down at his pokemon as she rested in his arms. "We should be out of the forest in about an hour at this rate." he said get a nod in return. "And no sign of this Titan thing."
BBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Slate comes to complete stop at the direction the noise came from. "Me and my big mouth." he groaned out while he could just walk away he knew that voice and couldn't just leave him to his fate. Returning his pokemon Slate ran to the noise.

"Sandslash NO!" Samurai screamed in defeat as he watched his last pokemon fall the Titan of the Forest who glared at him.
A bipedal, insectoid Pokémon. Its body is primarily green and has a thin, cream-colored section between its head, thorax, and abdomen. Its reptilian head has two narrow, triangular eyes and three blunt horns extending from its forehead. Its arms end in large, white scythes.
A Scyther an angry one at that. While Scyther's were hunters by nature this thing seemed a tad off for one thing it had piercing red eyes and it's head kept twitching. Drawing it's duel blades as it locked onto Samurai who understanding the action got into a defensive stance.
Rage flowing through it's veins it jumped intp the air both arms raised skyward to end this...
"Razor Leaf!"
A barrage of razor-sharp leaves soared through the air cutting off the raged induced pokemon's flight path.
"Good Job Bulbasaur!" Slate said to his grass type whose bulb was glowing with a blue light. "Samurai you okay?" he asked not taking his eyes off the Scyther who seeing new prey turned it's focus to them.
"Yes my friend, but we must flee this pokemon took down the rest of my team on it's own!" Samurai shouted while he did some damage to it the Pokemon seemed to shrug off the damage.
Despite the situation both Slate and Bulbasaur turned their heads avoiding a laugh as while Samurai may be strongish he did lose that two on two battle without taking down one of his soooo...
"Bulbasaur you ready!"
"SSSSSSAAAUUURRRRR!" Not needing to be given an order Bulbasaur charged into battle launching a volley of Seed Bombs at the bug type.
Slate mouth making a few smacks as he looked between Samurai and his battle ready pokemon.
"I think we got this." Turning back to the battle Bulbasaur currently held Scyther's blades with his vines not budging an inch as the two pushed each other.
"Hold it still and use Growl." Opening his mouth and lets out a large yell that distorts the air lowering Scyther's attack power.
As they continued to push each other Scyther's wings glow white as it began to actually push back. After a moment it freed one of it's scythes before repeatedly slashing the air and it fires green crescent energy rays from its blades crashing into his grass type.
"Bulbasaur into the air!"
The commade came just in time as once there was some distance Scyther's scythes glow light blue. It fires multiple light-blue, glowing energy blades from its scythes at Bulbasaur who shot into the air using his vines.
Steel Wing, Swift and Air Slah
Clearly this wasn't a wild pokemon no normal one could learn those attack they were clearly TM's.
At this moment Scyther's body becomes outlined in light blue attempts to strikes the Bulbasaur only to freeze up.
"Was that Acrobatics?" Slate thought actually glad the attack failed as that could have put his pokemon down.
"Use Leech Seed!"
Scyther could do nothing as vines wrapped around it as energy was drained from it.
Trying to shake off the damage Scyther's blades began glowing pink only to fizzle out a second later.
"Vine Whip into the ground." Slate ordered as he looked at what was clearly Brutal Swing.
"BULBASAUR!"
Twin vines wrapped around Scyther before slamming it into the ground.
"Finish it with Seed Bomb!" Slate grabbed a pokeball held at the ready.
Just as Scyther was begining to get up multiple glowing green seeds rained down on it exploding on impact.
"Pokeball Go!" Slate's pokeball soared through the air before smacking into the Scyther fadding into red energy before being sucked inside.
The ball closed with a click, and then glowed bright red at the center and shook on the ground. Once, twice, and three times, and then it let loose a ping.
Everyone stared at the pokeball on the ground releasing the breathe they didn't know they were holding.
"Okay now we're leaving." With that Slate ran away not wanting to battle anything else. Neither he nor Samurai really process what just happened.

(1) To this day I still have no idea how a Ground type can learn Electric moves.
