Shocking Upset Pt. 1

]|P|[

"Alright time for round two." Slate hyped himself up smacking his cheeks a few time for good measure. "We trained for this, we have a plan, we got this." as he said this a set of footsteps appeared behind him.

"Done hyping yourself up?" Giselle asked though if you looked you could tell she herself was on edge whle not her battle she's spent this whole week (even during her existential crisis) training with Slate so by proxy if he can win his rematch she should to. Truth be told this week has been hell nothing but training, eating, training, sleeping, training, mental acceptance of her lose, training, that one time they went finishing, and training some more.

Just thinking about it made her shudder, she's trained more in this week then a whole month at Poketech. Hoping to distract herself she focused on a new addition to Slate's team. "So any reason why he's up there?"

Following her gaze Slate sees his newest pokemon resting on his head.

"Slow...poke."

"He likes to be tall."

"Well you better win cause it'll make it all the sweeter when I claim that badge for myself." she puffed out her voluptuous chest up in pride, confidence restored and it definitely drew his eye. Noticing his gaze a grin formed on the students face as a anughty idea came to her, maybe he just needs motivation.

"You know maybe you just need incentive." Slate lifted a brow at the last word. "If you win-" Smirk on her face Giselle gave the teen a wink before wrapping her arms around her torso showing off her large ripe breast barely contained in her tanktop. "-I'll give you a kiss."

Silence permeated between the two (well three but Slowpoke wasn't really invested more interested at his new height.) that is until Slate walked over to the ex-student an impassive look on his face before he was meer inches from her face.

Before she could make another snippy remark Slate slowly leaned forward. "A a year earlier-" she froze her breathe hitched as Slate's breathe tickled her ear. "-that might have worked." he leaned back giving her a wink.

"Huh?" she sputtered clearly not prepared for the response.

"Let's say when comes to woman I've already had some experience." hands in his pockets smirk on his face the Pallet Town native left a now shellshocked former student stumped as he walked toward the gym.

"E-Experience?" Giselle stood their stunned as a Sudowoodo upon hearing the news no wonder her attempts failed she was offering a sample when he had already gotted a meal. Now all made sense, no way could Slate turn down a 10 out of 10 like her. Some other girl had already sank her claws into Slate. That female Arcanine! The shock turned into anger. What does that hussy have that she doesn't she's brilliant, gorgeous and have you seen her body it could stop traffic.

"...Wait? With who! What were you doing?!" No way was she losing to some no named girl who probably wasn't even half as hot as her.

Without another word Slate pushed through the doors only to come face to face with a familiar sight. "GOLEM NO!" a voice cried as another fully evolved pokemon hit the dirt fainting as it did pieces of it's own rock falling off.

"Ha! Did you think having a rock/ground would do give you the edge, better trainers then you have tried!"

The teen boy sniffed as tears began falling down his face as he returned his pokemon. "You'll be sorry I'll call my dad and he'll have this gym shut down and you out of a job. You hear me!" He cried out rushing past Slate and Giselle.

"Yeah well tell daddy to get in line!" With a hearty laugh Surge turned to the new comers the grin growing even more as he saw his new challengers. "Well, well, well look whose come back for more."

Slate gave a shoulder shrug. "I said I'd be back in a week. Still got some fight in you today or did that last guy ware you out?"

"HA! That kid wasn't even a warmup. The kid had no badges and came running in here shouting how he'd sweep my team with his Golem, Diglett and Sandile."

"I'm sensing a theme to his strategy."

"Amateurs, the lot of them." Just another rookie that thinks if they have the type advantage the gym leaders would fall over like they were one trick Ponyta's, no planning, no training just have the edge and everything will be fine. And when that fails blame others for your problems. Weak men truly bring weak times. "Want to explain this?" The Lightning Lieutenant point to his own head gesturing to the Water/Psychic lounging on the trainers head.

"New catch."

Shrugging his shoulders with a smirk. "Not an Eletric type but it's your team do whatever." The smirk grew as he placed his hand over his mouth trying hold back a laugh. "You know what they say about people who own Slowpokes. A Dopey Pokemon for a dopey trainer."

Slate deadpanned as he smacked his lips. "Good to hear, same rules as last time." Withdrawing a pokeball.

"Of couse just like we agreed on earlier." Surge threw his pokeball releasing the same Geodude from before.

"Let's try this again. Throwdown Gible!"

Back on the battle field Gible howled his name ready for his rematch. He may be the youngest of his trainers pokemon but he's a dragon they are born conquerors and it was time to prove it.

"It's time for a second beating Geodude!" With a flash of light out popped the Rock/Eletric type who cried out it's name ready for round two. It gave a smug smirk as it eyed the pokemon it defeated earlier.

"Gible start this off with Tackle!" With a cry of his name the Dragon/Ground type rushed forward with the most basic of moves.

"Pfth weak use Defense Curl." The Alolan Native pokemon crossed its arms as its defense rose. "Now use Rollout!" Without a word the eletric/rock type curled itself into a ball and rolls toward the opponent with an incredible speed.

As the two charged at each other Slate waited for the perfect moment before giving the call. "Jump and use Metal Claw." The little dragon/ground type back flipped over his opponet his claws glowing with steel type energy as he raked them over his incoming enemy the pain itself caused it to crash into an incoming wall.

"Get up Geodude." Surge grunted not expecting that, looks like the kid really has been training. "Rock Throw!"

"GEO-" Raising its fist into the air. "DUDE!" Geodude punches the ground, making rocks fly at it's opponent. They instead collided into several pillar of rocks erupted from the ground.

Looking across the field Surge sees the little dragon's hands sticking out while white energy surrounded it. "Hit'em with Rock Tomb!"

"Defense C-" his command was to slow as the floating pillars slammed into Geodude while also lowering its speed. "Alright not bad kid, not bad but I think it's time we get serious. Geodude!" Getting back up the Rock pokemon looked a little banged up but still ready to battle.

"You may have gotten stronger but you're still green kid. "Rock Tomb made Geodude slower, which means you just made him even stronger... Gyro Ball!" Geodude's hands glow light blue and it spins around fast, with a light-blue ring surrounding it.

"Block it with Bulldoze!" with a quick jump in the air Gible slammed into the ground the shockwave crashing into the Rock Pokemon, while not stopping it the attack did slow down just enough cuting off its flight pattern avoiding taking full damage. The shoulder bash caused Gible to go into a spin falling on his back he did recover jumping back to his feet no less for ware.

"All this power in only a week?" Surge asked himself in surprise. As much as he liked to brag about the power of his pokemon, he wasn't stupid this battle wasn't going the way he thought it would between his improved power, wide variety of moves of his pokemon and since that Gible is part ground type that limits his own options.

"Screw it!" Surge roared sparks of lightning practically dancing between his eyes. "Never surrender, never retreat, when in doubt power through- thats the motto of the Vermilion Gym! Take Down!"

"GEODUDE!" With a roar of it's name that matched the energy of it's trainer a fierce aura surrounded the duel typed pokemon before with a burst of speed. Prepared for the speed this time Slate pointed upward. "Gible Dragon Breathe the ground."

With a light jump Gible released a full powered thick green beam of Dragon energy into the ground propeling him into the air.

As that happened Geodude came to a stop as it crashed into nothing, floating a little shakily but it was still raring to go if the way it glared at the dragon/ground type as he hit his apex before descending back to the ground.

"Let's finish this..."
"Gible put everything into this last hit..."

"FOCUS PUNCH!/METAL CLAW!"

Both pokemon heard the call both charging their specific moves both ready to take out the other one on the ground and one in the air.

It lasted only half a second one moment they were staring into each others eyes the next their backs were to each other.

As Geodude hit the ground swirls in his eyes large chunks of rock clearly chipped off the Alolan variant as Gible (who'd barely taken any damage actually) stood tall as he shouted to the heavens at his victory.

Slate pumped his fist at the victoy. "Yes!" Suck on that you bas-OUCH!" he was cut off as Gible bit onto his leg. "WHY!?"

Surge's jaw dropped in shock at the results of the battle. This kid really had been training, sure he trained to (when he wasn't smacking around upstart trainers) but this kid took it to a whole different level and in just a week. The Lightning Lieutenant smiled this was going to be the greatest battle he's had in a long time. "Whatever kid you better get serious for the next round and the last battle left a bad taste in his mouth. Go Raichu!"

Slate looked at the pokeball belonging to his starter. "Let's try for a repeat Partner. Throwdown Ivysaur!"

The Grass/Poison glared at his Electric type oppenet who glared back with equal vigor neither wanted to lose either the battle or the staring contest. This was broken as both trainers began the battle.

"Ivysaur use Poison Powder!"

"Thunder Wave Raichu!"

At the same time Raichu released a light blue electricity as Ivysaur released a fine purple powder out of his bulb both attacks engulfing the two.

The end resulted in Ivysaur with sparks dancing him as a purple blush covered Raichu's face. This put both of them at a disadvantage one paralyzed with the other poisoned.

"Hit'em with Vine Tackle."

"Saur!" The grass starter followed the order rushing in closing the distance twin vines burst from his bulb slamming into the ground propelling himself forward.

"Hehe cute time to show them our training use Grass Knot!"

Wait what!?

To the shock of both Trainer and Pokemon, Raichu's eyes began to glow green as two blades of grass sprouted near its opponents feet tying his feet in a knot, this caused Ivysaur to stumble on the knot falling on his face.

"Send him packing with Mega Punch!"

With its opponet down Raichu held nothing back its paw glowed white before throwing the mother of all haymakers sending Ivysaur flying.

"Ivysaur!" Slate shouted surprised by the actually effective combo and Surge's focus learning a move that wasn't pure power based. "How you holding up par."

"SAUR!" Like anyone on Slate's team Ivysaur can take a beating and knew how to come back for more. "That's my partner use Growl." Ivysaur opened his mouth to do so only to freeze as a light blue sparks danced off of him. "Crap."

"OH NO!" Giselle jumped to her feet her hefty bosom bouncing from the force. "That couldn't have happened at the worst time." Of the five status conditions Paralysis was the most inconvenient always popping up at random. She lost count of the number of times a student of Poketech came close to winning only for the status effect to completely ruin any well laid out plan.

"Come on Slate you can do it!" the ex-student cheered jumping to feet throwing her arms up her twin peaks bounced hypnotically within the confines of her tight top.

"Finish him off with Mega Kick!" With matching smirks Raichu jumps into the air and his foot glows white as his came soaring downward.

"Ivysaur!" Slate shouted causing Ivysaur to shake himself free of the paralysis. "Leech Seed!" Slamming his vines into the ground the Seed Pokemon pushed himself backward as seeds sprouted from Ivyasaur's bulb hitting the Electric Mouse vines wrapped around it causing it to plummet to the ground.

"Seed Bomb." Multiple explosive seeds rained down on the Electric type it didn't help that a red light engulfed it as a green light surrounded him.

This didn't stop it as the Electric Mouse was back on his feet sparks dancing on his cheeks. "Double Team!" With a call from Surge Raichu created multiple copies of itself surrounding its opponet. "Lets see you block this, Mega Punch!"

The Raichu army all had their paws become surrounded in white light as they all rushed in delivering blow after plow upon the grass/poison type from all angles englufing him in a dust cloud.

When the dust settled Ivysaur was still standing albeit shakenly wounds clearly seen as his body becomes surrounded by a green aura with that ever present look of defiance matching his trainer.

"Overgrow." a mesmerized Giselle murmured from the stands the first time she's ever see one of the starters abilities in person.

"Thunder." A large amount of yellow sparks crackle off Raichu's body and its body becomes surrounded in yellow electricity.

"Energy Ball." Ivysaur opens his mouth as a green energy ball begin generating in front of him.

Raichu fires a massive bolts of yellow electricity from its body, the bolts then combine and form a swirling mass of yellow electricity that fires a bolt of electricity at its opponent.

Ivysaur continues charging the green ball of energy growing more then twice its size as ball as light green sparkles surround the orb. Once released the orb soared through the air aiming straight at his opponent.

"FINISH IT!"
