Hey so this chapter going to be a little short and i apologize for that I'm just kind of in a tight schedule with school and preparing stuff for the upcoming holiday. I also apologize for any confusion or misspelled words i use. Anyways enjoy this chapter, i do not own anything or anyone except my own OC's. Everything goes to the rightful owner or creators.
"When i read Deca-Era I couldn't believe it was written by Bugs Bunny, there's no way he would've done something that bad". Lena explained as she and Aiger return to their client.
"Yeah, so?". Aiger shrugs confusingly.
"So I guess that's how i knew he put a spell on it". Lena explained it simple and plain.
Before giving back to Ace as they returned to his mansion. And of course he looked shocked and confused as to why she'd give it to him when he asked for the book to be destroyed as well.
"But I've asked you to destroy it". He spoke surprisingly as he held the book in his hand. "So I don't understand why you decide to give it back to me".
Lena just smiled sadly before looking down and sighed. "If you really want to burn it so badly then i rather have you do it yourself". She strictly exclaim as she couldn't bring in herself to destroy such masterpiece.
However that doesn't sit the same for Ace. "I most definitely will burn this trash". He said it with a bitter tone in his voice. "I never want to see it again".
"And i completely understand why you would feel the way you do about it this book Ace". Lena says with understanding before answering. "You wanted to protect your Great-grandfather's legacy, because your his descendant, aren't you?".
Aiger and Spyro gasped in total surprised as they didn't know about that and wasn't expecting Lena to figured it out.
But Ace kind of expected someone would figured it out eventually before sighing in regret and a little guilt. "Yes... It's true". He admits sadly.
"Have you read it yourself?". She asked.
Ace shook his head. "No way, I could never bring myself to do it, my Great-grandfather said it was garbage". He replied honestly.
Aiger steps in this time. "So your just going to burn it?". He protest.
"I was-". Ace talked but Aiger didn't let him finished before grabbing him by his shirt.
"Without even bothering to see what's inside!?". He asked again angrily. "It's the last book that your great gramp's wrote right!?. Some of us would killed for that kind of memories with their relatives!. How could be so selfish!?".
Luckily Lena pushed Aiger out of the way and get him to back off. "That's enough Aiger!, let Ace explain himself!". She reasoned and defended Ace.
Aiger just groaned before staying silence giving him the chance to explain. "Please...That book has caused my family great suffering and heartache and shame". He pleaded begfully as he look down in shame. "It was 31 years ago...".
Young Ace finds his great grandfather walks in from the door. With no greetings or explanation as to where he's been for the past 3 years he's gone.
"Grandpa?".
"Forgive me Ace...".
Out of nowhere Bugs Bunny walks in shaking like crazy before he went to the tools sheet.
"We haven't heard anything from you in 3 years".
Ace demand answered but doesn't seem to be getting any.
"Where have you been all this time?".
Bugs then ties a rope around his arm away from his elbow but just a little over to the shoulder.
"Somewhere I'll never returned, it's all over now!".
Then he picked up an axe.
"No what are you-".
"I will NEVER write again!?".
Swinging the axe towards his tied hand he screams.
Aiger and Lena scream in terror when they heard the story of his great-grandfather cutting off his hand.
"Wow... That's dark dude". Spyro comment strictly and uncomfortably.
Ace visited his great-grandfather at the hospital.
"You should've listen to Dad. He told you working with Junya Kaneshiro would be a terrible idea, but you went on ahead and do it anyway. Why?".
"Because it was good money".
"Who cares about that!?, look where it got you?".
"I'm so glad i finished that rubbish".
Bugs just smiled which got Ace irritated as he couldn't understand that.
"What the hell are you smiling about!?. Do you think it's funny leaving your family for 3 years to write a novel your not even proud of!?".
"Grandson...I thought about you and your father and everyone in the family the entire time i was gone".
"Then you should've just written something for him quickly and come back to us!, instead you abandoned your pride and your family right along with it!, your a sad excuse for a writter!. Selling yourself out to the highest bitter, your not much of a father... Or even a grandfather!".
However Bugs wasn't hurt by his great grandson words as he just smiled all the way the same.
"Not long after that...My Great-grandfather passed away. However, the anger and betrayal i felt towards him lived on".
Ace stood at the graveyard where he and his parents attend his funeral. However he didn't shed a single tears from his eyes.
Ace wipes away the tears as he finished telling his side of the story. However he wasn't finished explaining. "But as the years passed by me and I retired from my job, that anger slowy turned into remorse. And now... It's too late for me to ask for his forgiveness".
Lena just listen on while Aiger had his back turned behind him but he too appear to be listening as he just frowned hearing him. "And so i decided to make amends by destroying the very last work that caused him so much pain and unhappiness, this is the only way it can preserve his legacy".
As he said that he prepared to burn the book with a lighter. "I'm sure this is what he would've want". He says but then-.
"You're wrong!". Lena says it loud and clear enough to grab the lighter from his hand. "Ace Bunny look!".
Everyone in the room gasped in surprise when the book suddenly glowed brightly and a magic circle appear around it.
"W-W-What's happening!?". He spoke in shock.
"A spell has been cast on this book". Lena explain calmly as the letters suddenly comes out of the front cover floating in the air. "It's the work of the wizard Bugs Bunny".
"A spell?". Ace looked confused until...
The letters kept floating until suddenly rearrange itself changing the words from Deca-Era to 'Dear Ace'.
"Dear Ace!?". Ace gasped by how his name was suddenly changed in it.
"That's right...". Lena smiles. "This book was his letter to you, disguise behind a spell that rearrange all of the words so no one could read it".
Then the letters return to the book before it opens and so many words comes out of every page of the book, flying and swirling around in spillraled turbulence across the room.
"Wow...". Aiger smiles in speechless.
"Pretty...". Spyro looked amazed.
"He didn't stop writing because he was ashamed, he stopped because he finished his masterpiece. A novel containing everything he ever wanted to say to his beloved grandson, and when you read it the way he intended it's easily his best work ever".
"I thought about you and your father and everyone in the family the entire time i was gone". Ace tears up as he remembers what his great-grandfather said to him long ago.
"And now that the spells been broken you read it for yourself now". Lena smiled happily this time as she's glad the whole problem has been solved.
And it definitely most have as Ace could only hugged the book as if he felt like he was hugging his great-grandfather who he missed and loved him so dearly till this day despite everything that happened.
"Thank you grandpa...I swear I'll never let any harm comes to this book". Ace said softly to himself as if he's speaking to his great-grandfather who he hoped he's watching from above and listening on him.
"Well i guess we won't be collecting that reward then". Aiger said sarcastically as he shrugs.
"Aye". Spyro agreed.
"Huh!?". Lena looked confused.
"We were supposed to destroy it remember?". Aiger smirked as he reminded her. "We didn't finished the job".
"But even so...Let me do something to repay you". Ace insisted.
"Y-Y-Yeah it's not our fault he decided to not burn the book after we got it back for him!". Lena complain even though she was who reason with him.
"Lena. Don't be so greedy, you're totally ruining what supposed to be a touching moment". Spyro shook his head disappointedly.
"I NEED THE DARN CASH!". She yelled.
"Heh. Thanks for the offer but we don't want it". Aiger said casually before heading towards the door.
"Um yes we do!. I need to pay the rent for the place your parents helped got me!". Lena argued.
But Aiger just ignored her before turning around and smirked. "I think it's time we all head home". He says before smiling at Ace. "That means you too Mr. Bunny...Go back home".
Ace blink and stares In surprise as Lena gasped at the sudden realization. "Wait-What!?". She gasped.
Yeah like i said it's short but i promise the next chapter will be longer i swear. Again sorry for any confusion or anything i missed or got wrong.
Next chapter: Me, Aiger and Spyro went back to the Guild only to ran into Yusei Fudo and got into little trouble.
