In the last chapter, Ash and his friends finally made their way to Lavaridge Town, and now it is time for Ash to win his fourth gym badge in the Hoenn region, and 24th overall. Can he do it? Hey Misty. Flannery and I have finally had that gym battle today. And even though I had a good strategy for dealing with Flannery and her Fire-type Pokémon, it was far from the Corphish show (something I knew you would enjoy) ;). Treecko and Pikachu also helped me to win this battle against her Slugma, Magcargo, and Torkoal. As always, Max managed to record some highlights that I sent alongside this email. PS: Flannery's Torkoal is such a cool Pokémon to battle. I would love to have my own Torkoal one day!

Hey there, Ash. I just finished watching your gym battle against Flannery, and I have to say that I am really impressed by both of your showings. (I was still rooting for you, of course). Corphish was the true MVP of the fight, as water-type biases aside, it clearly did the most damage to Flannery's team, including delivering the final blow to her Torkoal and Magcargo. Of course, Flannery has a lot of room to grow as a gym leader, and you did a good job helping to teach her during the battle. Speaking of growing as a gym leader, I finally managed to help Psyduck master his Water Gun attack with the help of my other Pokémon and the strategy you told me about during our reunion. I consider it a huge win in my book. Anyways, good luck on your continuing quest, Ash!
