Hello, everybody and welcome back to another exciting chapter of "A Long Distance Ship"! In the last part, Ash and his friends have finally arrived in Fortree City, where they met Winona and participated in the Feather Carnival. And now the time has finally come for Ash's sixth Hoenn gym battle. How will it go for our favorite trainer? Well, let's find out!

Hey there, Misty. I just came back to the Pokemon Center after my battle against Winona. It was a tough battle, but Grovyle, Pikachu, and Swellow managed to help me pull out a win against the Fortree Gym Leader. I don't want to spoil the video linked in this email too much, but she had some creative strategies, and I did too. Winona's Swellow (the green one in the video) showed me a new move in the form of Aerial Ace… I think I might want to teach it to my own Swellow some time. Anyways, I ended up earning my Feather Badge, which means only two more to go before I can enter the Hoenn League! I am heading out tomorrow, but I will make sure to email you again whenever I reach another Pokemon Center!

Subject: Vs. Winona

Hey, Ash! I just watched your gym battle, and let me tell you it is one of my favorite Hoenn gym battles of yours. You had a pretty good strategy of using your Grovyle's speed and the high altitude of the battlefield to your advantage against Altaria. Obviously playing into my bias towards water-types, Winona had a pretty good strategy too by having her Pelliper put its wings into the ground in order to avoid damage to its 4 times weakness. And you used the strategy well in order to help you win against the gym leader. Your Swellow might have had normal colors, but he definitely shined in this battle, Ash. You definitely deserved that sixth gym badge. I wish you the best of luck when it comes to your next badge, wherever you earn it, Ash!
