Meanwhile, as Aquaformer and Lancex had their private discussion, Overhaul and Jetfire were walking around the base and thinking about the meeting. "Hey, Jetfire" Overhaul stated as he nearly ran into Jetfire.
"Hey, Overhaul. I was just thinking of that meeting we just had" Jetfire replied.
"Me Too. So what is your take on those two new bots?" Overhaul asked, wanting to see what the shuttle thought.
"Well…Aquaformer seems like a strong femme and like she has seen lots of battles. She ought to bring something unique to our troop. But Lancex… well… I can't quite place it but I get the feeling that he might be hiding somethingL Jetfire replied.
"You always think bots are hiding stuff because you are known to take stuff and misplace it" Overhaul stated, though his felt a strange feeling in his spark.
Jetfire pretended to be offended and shot the keep a look. "Whether that is true or not, it still feels like Lancex is hiding something. And to be honest, possibly the femme as well" Jetfire replied.
"Okay, so what really bothers you about him?" Overhaul asked.
"Well, first off, someone asked about his optic patch and he ignored the question" Jetfire answered.
"Well…why do think bots wear an optic patch – something is wrong with that optic or it is recovering from something. Sheesh.." Overhaul replied, thinking Jetfire was being stupid about that.
"Okay, well what about his deflection about being a salvager?" Jetfire shot back.
"Do you really think that is such a big deal? We know what a salvager does? You seem to be nitpicking things. Besides, he seems like a strong and handsome bot. He likely was created with higher lever metal" Overhaul replied.
"Uh-oh, sounds like someone might be smitten. What makes you think a bot would like a short bot like you?" Jetfire found himself asking, not sure why.
"I never said anything about wanting him. I merely mentioned that he was of seemingly strong metal and it made him look handsome and strong. You jumped the gun. Though, if he was even interested, I wouldn't say no to possibly looking into him as a mate" Overhaul revealed.
"And if he was so inclined, why wouldn't he want possibly a bot like me?" Jetfire asked.
"You're a sarcastic joker" Overhaul stated.
"Well, you're a hothead" Jetfire shot back.
"Before we get too far, we should get to know him before we can assume anything. And there might be more to him… and the femme than we realize" Overhaul cautioned. Jetfire nodded. They would bide their time for now.
