The DEO cafeteria was abuzz with quiet chatter as Goku devoured plate after plate of food, his appetite outpacing even Kara's. DEO agents, including Winn and James, watched in awe as the Saiyan demolished what seemed like an impossible amount of food.
"This is insane," Winn muttered. "How does he even fit all that in his stomach?"
James crossed his arms, shaking his head with a grin. "I don't know, but it's impressive. He even eats more than Kara."
Kara, who was sitting next to Goku, smirked. "You get used to it. He's been like this since the day I met him."
Goku looked up from his plate, crumbs on his face. "What? I need energy to stay strong!"
The group chuckled, but J'onn J'onzz, standing near the door, remained quiet, his sharp Martian eyes fixed on Goku.
After the meal, J'onn pulled Kara aside into a private room, his tone serious.
"Kara," he began, "you know the stories about Saiyans. Conquerors, destroyers, merciless warriors. Are you certain we can trust him?"
Kara's expression softened, and she nodded. "At first, I didn't trust him either. I'd heard all the same stories about Saiyans growing up on Krypton. But Goku isn't like the others. He's pure-hearted, J'onn. He's saved people, helped me when he didn't have to, and he cares about this planet."
J'onn studied her face for a long moment, then nodded. "If you trust him, I'll trust him. But we'll remain vigilant."
Alarms blared throughout the DEO as footage from National City played across monitors. A strange craft had landed near the outskirts of the city. It was small and spherical, its metallic surface scorched from atmospheric entry.
As the craft opened, a figure stepped out. He appeared human at first glance, tall and muscular with long, spiky black hair. But the camera feeds clearly captured the tail swaying behind him. He wore alien armor and had a green scouter covering one eye.
Kara and Goku stood among the agents, watching as the alien casually raised his hand and destroyed the nearby cameras with an energy blast.
"Another Saiyan," Goku said, his voice low.
Kara looked at him, seeing a mix of apprehension and determination on his face. "He's not like you," she said firmly. "We can't let him come here."
Goku nodded. "Let's go meet him somewhere else."
Kara and Goku flew toward the alien's landing site, making sure to stay far from the DEO. They landed on a rocky plateau, the wind whipping around them. The Saiyan turned as they approached, his scouter beeping as it analyzed their power levels.
"Well, well," he said with a smirk, his tail curling lazily. "Two high readings, and one of them is from a Saiyan. You must be Kakarot."
"Kakarot?" Goku repeated, confused.
The Saiyan chuckled. "You don't even remember your name? I'm Raditz, your older brother. I've come to bring you back to where you belong—with the Saiyan race."
Kara narrowed her eyes. "Goku's name isn't Kakarot, and he doesn't belong to you or your people. He's a protector of Earth."
Raditz scoffed. "Protector? Saiyans aren't protectors. We're warriors! Conquerors! Kakarot, you were sent here to prepare this planet for sale, not to make friends with the locals. I'm here to remind you of your mission."
"I don't know what you're talking about," Goku said, his voice firm. "I don't care about this 'mission.' I'm not going anywhere with you."
Raditz's smirk faded into a scowl. "Then you're a disgrace to our family and our race. If you won't come willingly, I'll destroy this planet and you with it."
Before Raditz could make good on his threat, another figure appeared—Piccolo, floating down from the sky with his arms crossed.
"I don't care about your family drama," Piccolo said, his voice cold. "This planet is mine to conquer, and I'm not letting you destroy it."
Raditz glanced at him, his scouter beeping again. "Another one? You're all full of surprises. Still, neither of you stand a chance against me."
Kara stepped forward, her eyes blazing with determination. "We'll see about that."
Piccolo smirked. "Looks like we're on the same side for now, Kryptonian. Try to keep up."
Goku grinned, his excitement building. "Alright! Let's do this!"
The three stood together, facing Raditz as the wind whipped around them, the battle for Earth about to begin.
To be continued...
