(Clears throat)… Right.
Yes Hedgehogs and Hedge-women, its Febubary and as promised, we are now returning back to Sonic DxD; its birthday, if you will. Its been a while, huh? I could talk about the Twitter stuff regarding people hounding Kishimoto for Sonic content, but that's not why your here. Though this is ironic as the High School DxD fanbase is no better…
Before we officially start, I wanna say thank you. i've lost track of how many times I've said this, but this story has gotten over 300 follows, and is one of my few stories to even achieve this mark. While its not my most followed story, it is in fact the most reviewed one, with over 420 reviews. It really does wonders for motivation, so as celebration of returning to the story, you will find a teaser chapter at the end of this one. I'm sure you'll like it, and thanks again for helping me reach both of these milestones!
This newest chapter might be short, but it should be a good read. It shouldn't… Diverge you, right?
Chapter 29: Training for a Rating - Divergence
Issei was currently carrying a backpack that was almost as big as himself. He was really struggling too, huffing and puffing while walking up a path to a Gremory resort. After Riser left, Grayfia explained she and Sirzechs did additional negotiating for Rias' team. As this would technically be their first Rating Game, she was allowed 10 days to train for the upcoming battle.
The original offer was a full two weeks, but this was a compromise. Better than nothing, they supposed.
"Your almost there, Issei, just a few more feet." Rias said as she, Asia, Sonic, and Akeno waited for him at the top of the path.
As you can imagine, Sonic was able to climb it no problem, getting to the top before anyone else… he'd then run all the way back down and all the way back up due to his impatience, making a blue streak go by each time. Rias and Akeno would eventually arrive to join him while he was standing at the top with his arms folded, Asia picking up 3rd place a few moments later, where all four of them would await the rest of the group.
"Eyes on the prize, Issei." Akeno encouraged.
"C… Coming…" Issei said, sweat dripping down his face as he looked up at the girls directly.
"Rias, should me and Sonic get some of that for him?" Asia asked, yes understanding this was all for training, but it didn't mean she didn't feel sorry for Issei.
"He's gotta learn to pull his own weight." Sonic said. Part of him shared Asia's sentiment, but also understood Issei needed to do this on his own.
"Exactly. Issei will be fine, he just needs to learn." Rias said, adding to one of the few times she and him actually agreed on something.
Kiba walked past Issei with a backpack filled with the exact same quantity. "Bro, are you serious?! You got pillows in there or something?!" Issei complained, thinking he was getting the short end of the stick.
"Move it." Koneko then walked by with a severely overstuffed bag, twice as big as Issei's, and three times the girl's size. Maybe four. Shocked, Issei fell back, The weight of his backpack preventing him from getting back up easily.
"Arrrr-ahaaaaaaaaaa… this sucks!" Issei whined.
Eventually Issei did make it to the top and followed the rest of them to see a beautiful well-kept property. It was pretty big as well, and even had plenty of room for a certain Hedgehog to run around without getting too bored. Sonic could already see so many alternate paths he could make using his speed.
"Wow. This place is absolutely gorgeous!" Asia said, impressed by the sight.
"Now this is a vacation home." Sonic commented.
"Alright, no time to waste. Lets head inside, unpack our bags, and get started on this training." Rias said kindly, as she walked toward the property.
"What! We just got here!" Issei complained. "That's just pure evil, Rias. Way past unfair!" He added with a whine.
"I mean, that's Devilish. Even for you." Sonic said.
Rias stopped walking, and turned her head to show she had a sly smile on her face, already coming up with a response for Sonic: "That's the nicest thing you've ever said to me."

Elsewhere, on a Floating Island…
POV - Knuckles:
(AN: Optional Music - Mystic Ruins theme or Sonic Frontiers Divergence theme.)
We slowly zoom in on Angel Island, still being guarded by Knuckles per usual. Currently it was a little stormy, nothing too major, just a light shower. A few flickies even flew by, with one landing to rest on one of the broken pillars of the Master Emerald shrine before flying back off to join its friends.
'As far back as I can remember, I've been living here on this dark island… always guarding the Master Emerald, from anything that can harm it…' Knuckles inner monologued to himself. 'Least; I used to call it a dark island, before I learned its really a land of miracles… so much has happened here, so many sacrifices were made…' He thought about what he learned in his time with the shenanigans regarding this massive Emerald.
He was looking ahead in the sky before him before he glanced downward with his eyes. '… Ya know… sometimes I wonder… where there any other civilizations settled here? And why was I chosen for this responsibility?… Fate?…' He then closed his eyes. 'Or more likely, its Karma…'
He flashed back to the horrible visions he's experienced during the Station Square situation, more specifically the moment Tikal tried reasoning with her tribe one last time before she was trampled over as she meant absolutely nothing on orders by her own father. This included the near-defenseless Chao, who could only watch as their sacred ground was disrespected.
The last thing in this flashback was the power of the Chaos Emeralds being used in a flash of light… along with a roar of anger and pain…
'Thousands of years ago, my ancestors attempted to steal a power that wasn't theirs… that power nearly destroyed the world, but its also helped save it so many times… but who's power was it originally?' Knuckles asked himself. 'This shrine was here before the Echidnas ever settled anywhere near it, so who exactly built this shrine to the Emeralds? What happened to them?… And more importantly: where did they go?'
Knuckles always had these questions on his mind, but with lack of any evidence, these questions have always gone unanswered. He wondered if Tikal or the ancient Echidna's ever discovered anything, but he and his group of friends only got a glimpse of their lifestyle and culture from Tikal's visions. Considering what the Echidna spirit was trying to accomplish, there was no time to share her history, only just enough to try and warn them of the impending danger if Chaos ever got all 7 Emeralds.
Knuckles looked up at Sky Sanctuary not too far from Angel Island… figuring it was about time to scout there, he went to a nearby warp point to get up there quickly. There were a few Chao around here either playing, swimming, putting stuff on their heads… ya know, the usual.
Amy and Cream (even Rouge, as far as he could tell) were a bit jealous Knuckles had very close access to a Chao garden. Sure there was one in the city which was rebuilt after the Water God flooded it with his watery rage, but it was still a decent walk. All Knux had to do was step on a round stone to get to his.
'From the slopes of Icecap to the fires of Red Mountain, I've explored this place from top to bottom, but still manage to find something new every other day. Paths to new regions, and even other Echidna tribes. It's almost like new discoveries here are endless.' Knuckles thought this as he walked past a fruit tree that the Chao were trying to get fruit out of. With not even a full-force punch, he knocked down the entirety of the fruit, which the Chao greatly appreciated with their signature cheers and heart-shaped dots on their heads.
Knuckles jumped off the section he ended up at and then began to glide through the air before using his claws to start climbing a floating pillar he ended up at… but then he heard a small crying sound. Looking in its direction, he saw a Nights Chao struggling to get something of interest is found under some caved-in rocks. No matter how hard the little guy pulled, it was not strong enough. Its dot shape in a swirl to show it's emotional state.
"Whatcha got there, little guy?" Knuckles said as he landed nearby. "Need some help?"
The Chao looked at whom spoke, and recognizing Knuckles, its little dot on top of its head turn into an exclamation point, before it directed Knuckles' attention to what it found. With a single punch, Knuckles shattered all the rocks with little effort… of course, a good chunk of those rocks hit the little Chao, and it was about to cry.
"Heheh… H-Hey… there, there." Knuckles nervously said and quickly petted the Chao's head, as that was one of the most effective ways to calm one down. He picked up the item the Chao was after, which looked like a stone mask of some sort that looked like a Chao weirdly enough, but he didn't question it.
Chao find a random items all the time and grow attachments to them, just like a child would.
"This is what you found, right?" Knuckles asked, but of course the Chao didn't answer directly. Instead, it added some kind of inaudible language (again like a child would) as thanks before flying off while trying to put the mask on its face.
(AN: End music.)
"Huh?" Knuckles was gonna move on, but then noticed something else under the rocks that either the Chao didn't see or just simply wasn't interested in. Picking it up, it appeared to be a gear of some sort with strange markings. "Hmmm…" Though looking on ahead, he saw the same weird markings in what appeared to be an entrance.
His curiosity getting the best of him, he walked into the darkened room. "This is… different." Was the only thing that came to mind. He then noticed something in the darkness as his vision adjusted… as weird throne-like structure in the center of this room. It had a clear sign of age, moss growing all over it and the structure was broken in a few places.
He jumped onto the "seat" and begin pulling away at the moss.
"This looks… old." He said. "Allot older than any of the other ruins." He then saw behind the moss was a slot in the shape of a gear… the same gear he found. He looked at both gear and the gear shape a few times. "… I wonder…"
*click*
Sliding the gear in, it fit… where it immediately started glowing red. Knuckles backed up a bit as the structure began to glow, though more specifically the lines along it that were also connected to the gear slot.
Then HE started glowing!
"WHA-?" He didn't even get to finish as his settings was cut off, for he flashed out of existence, and the structure then powered down.
XXX
At an undisclosed location that looked to be inside of somewhere, another structure of similar origin as the one Knuckles was seemingly absorbed by began glowing the same color. "… AAAAAAAAAAAAAA-aaaaaah… huh?" Knuckles then flashed back into existence, and found himself in a completely different area.
"What was that… and where am I?" The Echidna continued, taking in his surroundings and jumping off of the structure. "This isn't my island… or Sky Sanctuary either!… HEY!… This another one of your tricks, Eggman?!" He demanded into the seemingly empty room. "Show yourself!"
His only answer was several glyphs that opened up on the floor around him, surrounding him from all sides. Knuckles kept a close eye on these strange symbols, not understanding what they meant, but most likely trouble. It wasn't long before what he could only describe as angel-like beings arising from these symbols but they had black wings. They were a mix of male and female as well.
Fallen Angels. Of course Knuckles didn't know that.
"Oooooooh, an ambush, huh?" Knuckles said, getting into a fighting stance while also punching his fists together once. "Heh… your funerals…"
A close-up of one of the beings' hands showed it glowing with light before forming into a spear, where said being tightened its grip on its new weapon. This was copied by the other members of its kind, and they all threw these light spears at Knuckles at the same time, resulting in a bright flash of light. The Echidna was skewered.

At least, he was supposed to be. Much to the Fallens surprise, the Mobian was gone. Their light spears having not impacted a single thing except for each other, which most likely caused the reactionary light flash.
"Hey, where'd it go?" One Fallen asked, him and his comrades confused and on guard. The only thing left behind was a seemingly random hole…

*rumble*
The Fallen who asked where Knuckles went looked down, hearing the ground and seeing the dirt rumble beneath him for some…
POW!
Knuckles: DAAAAARRRRRRRRRGH!
Knuckles ended up punching the Fallen One right in the chest, a freeze-frame demonstrating the power behind the punch and the pain the receiver was in. Once time resumes as normal the Fallen One that Knuckles hit was sent up into the air before quickly dropping down hard on the floor on his back.
Knuckles' surprise attack caught him so much offguard and put him in so much pain, his body lacked the functions to use his wings to stabilize himself.
After Knuckles landed from his attack, the other Fallen began to attack him seeing he was a bigger threat than originally thought. One of them (a female) tried swooping around with another light spear drawn, making a huge mistake of trying to attack Knuckles head-on, for Knuckles merely leaned back from the swipe and punched the new attacker right in the face, sending him off-screen but a crash was heard from wherever she ended up.
Three Fallen flew into the air and threw 3 light spears from above, but Knuckles jumped up and over them, then performed a Spiral Upper on one of them before punching that same foe away. After that, he did a Homing Attack-like maneuver (having learning from watching Sonic perform it so many times) on another one from this Fallen trio, powerfully knocking that one away.
His next target was the final trio member, and in desperation put up a shield glyph as a form of protection…
POW! SHATTER!
It was completely pointless. At least against Sonic, the blue Hedgehog had to Boost into one first to destroy it; but the red Echidna seemed to be able to break it with mere contact with his fist. Needless to say, this Fallen suffered the same fate as the others'.
More Fallen began to teleport in, surrounding Knuckles once again as he landed. With a battle cry, he raised his fist before punching it down on the ground.
FLOOSH!
What the Fallen didn't expect was a large amount of fireballs surrounding the Guardian and bursting out in all directions, also causing small yet powerful explosions. This was one of Knuckles' special moves known as Knuckle Slam, though he has not used this particular move in quite some time, but it prove to be very effective with a 360° radius.
They should be thankful he didn't use the Sonic Heroes variant of this move, which was more deadlier in comparison.
With ease, the ambush had been taken care of, with Knuckles smirking and cracking his knuckles. "… alright! Whoever's behind this, better show yourself now. We can settle this one-on-one. This was hardly a warmup." He said, baiting anyone else out there to fight him. "Because when I win: you'll send me home! Got it?!"
It took a few more seconds of silence, but a new and larger glyph opened above Knuckles, but it was the same type as the ones used by the Fallen Angels. Another Fallen One appeared, a male, but this one seemed much different compared to the others.
For starters, this new Fallen was taller and had pale skin with long black hair and blood red eyes. Unlike the other Fallen, he had 5 pairs of wings. He also has pointy, elf-like ears. Finally he wore a black robe with purple shoulder pads with gold streaks on the side.
Knuckles wasted no time and jumped at this new challenger. In defense, this Fallen put up a shield.
CLANG!
Unlike the other Angels', this ones shield had a bit more durability behind it and Knuckles could not shatter through it instantly like he did before. He pushed harder though, and to the Echidna's credit, the shield did begin to get a few small cracks in it, but it ultimately still did not break completely.
Both combatants broke up, Knuckles going back to the ground and the new Fallen descending to the ground to join him. The new Fallen had to admit, this specimen was quite strong, and his shield may have broken if contact was held any further.
Knuckles would have attacked again, but this Fallen held up its hand again, this time in defense, and spoke to him.
"Do forgive us. You gave us quite a scare." Said the Fallen Angel. He spoke in a low voice, yet very gentleman-like. "That portal hasn't worked in years, no matter how many times we tried to reestablish a connection." Knuckles looked back at the strange structure that sent him here, but only for about two seconds to look back at the Fallen Angel.
"We mean no harm… In fact, your not from here at all, are you?" The Fallen One continued.
"Who's asking?" Knuckles asked, not willing to give up information so easily and kept his guard up. He's been tricked one too many times to do that.
The being smiled at him. "A friend… call me, Kokabiel."
300 Follow Special - Bonus Teaser Chapter: A Wild Titan Appears! (AN: NOT a fully completed chapter. Feedback needed and appreciated.)
Sonic, Rias and Issei approached the second Chaos Emerald that was encased in the strange contraption. Each of them holding the 3 keys they found (one for each of them), those same keys appeared to digitize and entered the contraption like it had done for Sonic before. Once that was accomplished, the Chaos Emerald left the device before landing in Sonic's hand.
"Two down, five to go." Sonic said, putting the newest treasure away in hammerspace. "Race ya back to Home Base." Sonic turned to his two Devil friends before playfully dashing off in a blue blur.
"Hey!" Issei said, flying off after him as he reequipped his Balance Break helmet. Rias looked like she wanted to say something, but just smiled and flew around them after sprouting her wings.
"Wait up for the rest of us!" Gasper said; he, Koneko and Asia taking flight to try and follow.
"Half here! Remember!" Amy called out, running after them as well. Sonic, Rias, and Issei were heading back to the Eggman Station they had found which was near that tower where they also found Asia…
Only for a red flash to go off up ahead and a large foot heading for the trio!
Each of Sonic's, Rias' and Issei's eyes widened. Both Devils had to swerve around this large foot, though Sonic had to dive forward just before he ended up crushed like a berry. Everyone regrouped where Sonic was and were gonna ask him of he and Rias and Issei were okay…
Sonic: … woah…
Everyone else was rendered silent as the camera panned away from the group before zooming out, to show a MASSIVE robot taking another stomp with its other leg. Then panning upwards, this robot was shown to be even bigger than that 3 armed-robot that was seemingly guarding Amy's and Asia's prisons'.
This new robot was an enormous black-and-gray robot that has a roughly humanoid stature with a broad torso and large shoulders compared to its thin limbs and lower body. Its arms end in three-fingered hands, while its legs were rounded stumps. Its head consists mainly of a massive mouth with pair of protrusions extend from its chin, and it has a somewhat long neck that gives it a slightly hunched or bestial appearance. Red energy was courses through various lines on its body, giving a very intimidating appearance.
It took only one additional stamp to turn around to face the group, each stomp giving a small earth shaking-like effect. They also heard what sounded like low growls coming from it.
Now compared to some of Eggman's mechs, none were THIS big. Rias herself had seen ancient weapons before, a long-since-deactivated Gomagog was in an Underworld museum, but even they were dwarfs compared to this thing. This large humanoid robot was at least 5 Gomagogs' tall and 3 or 4 Gomagogs' wide. Not only that, it must have required a huge power source to run.
"What… is that thing…?" Asia asked, a little bit scared for obvious reasons.
"Its so scary." Gasper said.
"Is that, what I think it is?" Rias asked, Having a sneaking suspicion and what that thing actually was. If the Sky Voice was to be believed…
"Guess that's one of the 'Titans' keeping everyone else trapped." Sonic said, referring back to the Sky Voices plan. Apparently these were one of those Titans that needed to be destroyed in order to get everyone completely out of Cyber Space.
They all noted a small flash of red light that popped up next to the Titans head. It was shown to be that same little girl that's been following them around unknown to their knowledge. She outstretched one of her small arms toward the creature, where her palm begin to go with red light.
The grouped wondered whom that was, but were even more shocked to see the Titan began to hunch over, seemingly deactivated. That was a bit of cause for concern, as that little girl appeared to be able to shut down something that massive with a simple wave of her arm.
A second later, this same girl was before them in a flash, only a few feet up in the air above them.
"Woah!" Sonic said with a flinch, as he didn't even see the little girl move. Everyone else was more silent about this, but this girl gave them an uneasy feeling. Either she teleported or was as fast as Sonic, both options were concerning if this girl wasn't on their side.
Then again, the voice in the sky was feminine… was this the owner?
She had a mysterious appearance to herself. She resembled a very young girl around or exactly Koneko's age with a slim body but no cleavage of any kind. This was probably because she clearly wasn't human in any capacity, as her outfit appeared to glitch in and out, or this might be because of a similar effect this island had on those trapped in Cyber Space.
She did have white skin and a large round head, with glowing red eyes and a red energy structure on the left side of her face. She also has short white hair (again like Koneko) with a swirl in it on her forehead and a single red energy highlight inside said swirl. The rest of her body however, especially her arms and legs, are completely black and seem to have outlines of red energy around them. For attire, she wears a black cloak and shoes that are covered with that same red energy.
"You need to leave. Immediately." Said the girl, who spoke in a digital voice, so there goes that theory. This girl was not the Sky Voice. Not only that, she was very cold and stern as opposed to the Sky Voice's proper and gentle tone.
"So uh, where'd you come from?" Issei asked.
"Your not trapped too, are you?" Sonic asked.
"Do not approach the Titan." Was the girls only yet still stern response.
"So that is a Titan." Rias said, the little girl confirming that monstrous robot was in fact one of the things they needed to destroy. It still amazed her something that large seemed to be able to fully function.
"Then looks like we can skip a step." Said Koneko.
"You heard the kitty, kid. We got a job to do." Sonic said, running past (or rather under) the floating girl to engage the Titan. Agreeing with Koneko, if they got rid of the Titan now, then it's one less thing to do later. "You coming, guys?" Sonic asked Rias and Issei. They of course followed him via flying like usual, being the only other two can fully interact with the world. Thankfully this time Sonic ran at a pace they could keep up with.
Amy, Koneko and Gasper watched them go…
(AN: Optional Music - Sonic Frontiers Titan Puppeteer.)
"They are powerless against its might." The floating girl said, looking at the Ghosty team members. "It will destroy them…" with that, she raised her other hand up, where it glowed again. An odd holographic-like effect surrounded the Titan's head, which appeared to wake it up and look directly down at the trio heading its way.
STOMP!
Lifting up one if its legs, it smashed it on the ground, making a more deliberate earthquake-like effect, only stronger as rocks that were buried under the ground flew out and into the air…
"Uh! WOAH!" Which Sonic was taken with! Not only that, the stomp affected the very air, and sent Issei and Rias backward as well! All three of them groaning as they spun out of control. Asia, Koneko, Gasper and Amy could only watch in concern as their 3 friends were clearly struggling before the battle officially began.
- Boss Battle: ? Titan -
Luckily, Sonic managed to regain his balance first, and smartly used the flying rocks as stepping stones to reach the Titan with his Homing Attack. He didn't need to use them all, and reached the Titan quite easily, where he then began to whale on the Titan's head, figuring that was its weak point. The head didn't move much however…
After 10 Homing Attacks in a row, he bounced backward, where he was shocked to see his attacks didn't do anything! And the Titan went to grab Sonic…
FLASH!
A magical glyph swallowed Sonic a mere second before the Titan grabbed him, and another one was shown on the ground some distance away as Sonic popped out of it. It was shown then Rias. who had also recovered from before and was still in the air, had a magic circle in her hand, obviously using it to save Sonic.
Also, was it just Sonic, or did he see something shiny on the Titan's head…?
As that magic did its job, Rias dispelled it for her signature Destruction Magic. It appeared in front of herself before she fired it at the Titan from the side. Right at its head where Sonic was striking was her intended target, but she saw the same sparkle Sonic saw, and noticed…
'A Chaos Emerald?' Rias asked herself, seeing the purple Emerald in a similar yet smaller containment device right on top of the Titan's head. Guess that's why this thing was so strong, and it only made sense an Emerald could power it considering she's seen what the Emeralds were capable of; though this also just added another reason to destroy this Titan.
Not wanting to damage the Emerald, she quickly changed her aim to the Titan's arm near her, which was its left one and the same one it was going to nab Sonic if she didn't intervene. She launched her magic and it engulfed the Titan's shoulder, where it was consumed by demonic flames…
…
It didn't do anything! While her magic did in fact carry out its effect, its shoulder was not burned away, nor did it appear damaged at all. "Huh?! That didn't work?!" She asked in shock, as her power did work on Eggman's advanced tech, but it didn't even singe this robot.
The Titan now looked in Rias' direction, and used the arm it was gonna use on Sonic to backhand her. Reacting quickly, she put up a defensive barrier…
SHATTER!
Rias: AAAAAAAH!
It immediately shattered to pieces and Rias was sent backwards out to sea as fast as a rocket, not able to use her wings to regain balance due to how hard she was stuck. Thankfully before she would have lost altitude and fell into the drink, Issei managed to catch up to her and grab hold of her. He was sent backward a bit himself after catching her as the force from the Titan's backhand was still there.
"You okay, Perez?" Issei asked her, to which she nodded at him, but her body was shaking. Probably adrenaline or something else. "No one Bitch Slaps my friends, Bi-otch!" Issei said as he outstretched a hand, where Ddriag began repeating 'Boost' over and over. When charging was complete, Issei fired a powerful and also emotionally charged Dragon Shot. He aimed at the head, wanting to inflict pain on the robot who darned harm a friend of his.
Just like the previous attacks done to the Titan, even Issei's Dragon Shot did absolutely nothing after hitting the side its face. But it did get the Titan's attention again, where it looked directly in their direction and roared while opening its mouth…
BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAST!
A large and thick red energy beam shot out of the Titan, 5 times the size of a Dragon Shot or Rias' Destruction Magic.
"SHIT!" Issei yelled in a cracked voice, he and Rias' eyes widened. He barely got out of the way in time as the beam pasted them. The beam continued onward on its own until it exploded far away from the island, but just the sheer size of the explosion made it seem closer than it actually was.
While the Titan was distracted, Sonic tried his new Cycloop Ability on the Titan's legs, looping around each one like an infinity symbol before releasing that power. Wind was generated around the legs, but nothing else appeared to happen. The Titan clearly felt it, as it looked down at Sonic with a growl and raised a leg to stomp on him.
Gasper was getting concerned and in a rare act of bravery, he triggered his Sacred Gear to stop time, it showing in his eyes. His power focused on the Titan, where its leg was covered by energy of his Forbidden Balor View; but only for a VERY brief second as the ability shattered away and the Titan continued its stomp. While this did give Sonic the precious second he needed to get away, the G-Force behind it sent him and more rocks backward.
"Gaspy? Did you just…?" Koneko asked.
"I tried, but it had no effect on him!" Gasper confirmed.
Sonic recovered quickly and evaded all the rocking falling and threatening to crush him. He of course heard the discourse and even saw Gasper's Sacred Gear try and take effect on the Titan. And if his time powers didn't work, then mostly likely Chaos Control wouldn't either, due to them being similar.
Speaking the Emeralds, Sonic had and idea, and took off running at the giant bot again. As he did, he contacted Rias and Issei via the Gremory communication magic he still had access too.
"Guys! On me!" As Sonic spoke, the small magic circle of the magic hovered over Rias' and Issei's ears.
"Sonic, what are you…?" Rias tried to ask.
"Just get ready! We got one shot at this!" Sonic said, hanging up and getting back to running at the Titan. "HEY, YOU! GIGANTOR!" Sonic taunted the robot to get its attention, which worked and the Titan stomped the ground again to knock Sonic off balance.
THIS time however, Sonic was mentally prepared and with a smirk, he jumped on a rock and jumped off of it. The timing was absolutely perfect, as the Titan's attack made the rocks arise again, which added to the height Sonic was normally unable to achieve. Rias and Issei also separated and went on both sides of Sonic, both having an inkling of what he wanted to try. At this time, Issei was triggering his Boosted Gears 'Boost' function again, climbing to its maximum level.
Sonic used Homing Attacks on the rocks like before to approach the Titan one more time and when he got within striking range, the 2 Chaos Emeralds surrounded Sonic's body, the Hedgehog using their power to power-up himself.
Sonic: NOW!
Knowing exactly what he wanted, Rias flared her energy and her magic surrounded Sonic as he curled into a ball for another attack.
[TRANSFER!] Ddraig announced, Issei giving all the stored power to Sonic.
Now embedded with Chaos Energy, Demonic Power, and Dragon Energy; Sonic launched one final Homing Attack, which all that power turned him into a Chaos-charged, Dragon-Energized, deadly Crimson-Blue fireball! Like before, he aimed right for the Titan's head.
ZWHEEEEEEEEEEE-BOOOOOOOOOM!
(AN: Pause music.)
This time a much different outcome occurred. The Titan roared and its head was shown to recoil back a bit this time, so it had to have taken some sort of damage. Not only that, the combined energies added an explosion after the impact, making a VERY large cloud of smoke that covered the entire Titan.
Sonic rebounded out of the cloud a second later, and Rias created a floating magic circle for Sonic to land on as a foothold.

"… did they get it…?" Asia had to ask, as she and everyone else was watching. Koneko happened to glance at the little red glitch girl, who didn't appear to be concerned her Titan took such a hard hit.

GRAB!
(AN: Resume music.)
The onlookers except the red girl widened their eyes in shock. From within the dust cloud, the Titan's arm grabbed all 3 of the unsuspecting heroes in one hand! The cloud also clear from its sudden motions, showing it STILL did not even have a dent in it from all the attacks it had received including the final one, and while its expression did not change, something about its actions seemed like it was annoyed or angry.
No, not like it felt any pain… more like they just pissed it off.
Sonic, Rias and Issei were squished together in its massive hand; unable to escape no matter how much they groaned and struggled. Its grip was almost crushing, but that was not the robots intention although it clearly could do so.
The Titan pulled its arm as far back as it's arm would allow, braced its feet in a stable stance, then literally threw the trapped Hedgehog and Devils like a pitcher at a baseball game, growling as it did so. It threw them so hard, they hurled through the air as fast as Sonic could run.
CRUMBLE, CRUMBLE! BOOM!
(AN: End music.)
While the trio were separated by different flight paths, the end destination was the same, into the mountain in the center of the island near "Home Base".
Sonic was the unlucky one to crash through 2 towers before impact on his back while Issei crashed through only one but ended on his side. And while Issei was in armor, it did nothing to block the pain. Rias didn't crash into any additional obstacle and was on her back like Sonic, but was still very much in pain as the other two and slanted sideways. In addition, one of her wings bent at an angle that didn't look natural.
All three of them groaned in pain as gravity eventually did it's job and pulled them out, but they began rolling on the steel surfaces of Eggmans machinery-like platforms upon landing, which added more pain. They all tried to stand back up, but the pain was too great and they all passed out with Sonic's last sight being the Rocky mountain behind him, Issei's was the tower they found Asia in, and Rias' was her vision fizzing with the Titan in the distance…
