An Update, and a Request:
Its over... Disney's about to lose to Sonic Movie 3, lol. No chance in hell some origin story about a cat is gonna destroy a story about scientist who super laser pissed on the moon. (I do like Lion King too, but let's be real).
Sadly, there will be no updates to this story for the reminder of this year, but 2025 is when I will start up again. I got allot of stuff going on IRL so unless i rush the next chapter out, which is NOT an option, only then can you get some content. But with how long this has been going on and the quality i want to keep, rushing out chapters or using AI to assist is not a route i want to take.
To AI fans, that's not me talking shit about it, just saying I'm a hands-on type of guy. Personal preference.
Unrelated; but between the questions I get in DM's and many artists reaching out to me, I may need to make an X/Twitter account to showcase it all along with some of the fanart I've have received.
But I have another reason I'm telling you this all this. Ever since my last request about adapting Shadow Generations to this story, I've gotten mixed reception on it. One half of you guys are saying its a good idea and good for some lore so go for it, while the other half is saying to leave the story of Shadow Gens untouched as it is damn near perfect. The discord between this is even, but instead of me making the decision entirely; we're gona leave it up to a vote like we have done many times before. This is your story too after all.
If your on Fanficition dot net seeing this, i made a poll on Desktop Mode for you to choose which option you perfer, or leave a review in this update of your choice (whatever's easiest). Even if your only on A03 seeing this, you can still vote in the comments section. My Discord and Twitter are also an option.
Choices:
1) Adapt Shadow Generations
2) Skip it. (It already happened)
Just be mindful, we have some wiggle room and plenty of time to take these votes.
Here's the catch though: when I start writing again, in a few chapters, there will be a chapter titled "Swordplay Between Light and Darkness". That is the chapter Xenovia and Iridina come into the picture with Silver the Hedgehog (yes, he's coming too), along with Boss Battles for all 3 of them, which will continue the Holy Sword Arc. The only place i can fit a possible Shadow Gens spin off is in-between that place in the narrative to continue the flow of the story without messing anything up I've currently set up.
At any point after that, we'll have to chalk it up to Shadow Gens already having happened. This is because Shadow is going to appear in Season 2 anyway, and since Sonic Generations technically already happened so Sonic can't meet the DxD cast otherwise the current narrative will make no sense, that doesn't mean Shadow Generations can't be used instead for that Generations representation.
I'll repeat the positives again: Shadow can be introduced a lot earlier than I originally intended to, i can add a few additional things that Shadow Gens missed, and the DxD cast could go to Sonic's world (or at least small portions of it aside from a Special Stage like Rias did) a hell of a lot sooner.
When "Swordplay Between Light and Darkness" airs, the poll WILL be closed effective immediately, then I will be tallying up all answers I've received. The winning vote will decide if we pause the story during Season 2 and take a detour through White Space, or we forgo it entirely and you'll have to wait for Shadow a little bit longer.
