Outside the Hyperion Hotel, Spike and Angel trailed behind Faith and Kellie when they heard the click of a gun, and Johnny O' Brien stepped out of the shadows, pointing the gun at Faith's head.
Angel lunged toward Johnny, but Kellie stepped between them, keeping her back to Johnny so he wouldn't see the change in eye color.
"All I need is for you all to back away from Kellie," Johnny said, "And no one gets hurt."
"Johnny, they're friendlies," Kellie said, "You can put the gun down."
"Well, whoever you sent to take Rachel to the hospital, wasn't exactly providing answers to help find you after gave your guard the slip at club going after Rachel," Johnny said.
"I thought he was behind me," Kellie said, "I didn't realize that I'd lost him until I'd already left the club and I didn't want to risk losing the trail on Rachel."
"That's what text messages are for," Johnny said, not buying Kellie's explanation.
"Aren't you supposed to be guarding my kids," Kellie replied.
"We shifted the arrangements when your guard couldn't find you," Johnny said, "Consider myself your guard going forward, kid. That is not negotiable at least until I train guards not to lose you."
"So Pistol gives you a run for you money too?" Spike said, "Figures."
"Spike, you're not helping," Kellie said, "Johnny, drop the gun. This crew here helped me get Rachel out of the situation she was in."
"Her ex-boyfriend and his buddies ended up offering her as some sort of religious sacrifice and then took you for the sacrifice instead," Johnny said, lowering the gun, but not putting it away, "What I don't understand is why you're not in a hospital. Rachel said they'd cut you like they did her."
"I don't have any wounds, Johnny," Kellie said, "The whole situation is extremely weird okay. I'm not sure you'd believe me if I told you what happened tonight. I need you to trust me when I tell you, that I am fine. But I will need to lay low for a bit until we're sure this cult isn't going to come after me. I don't think they know who I am, but I'm not leading them back to Tyler and the kids."
"So safehouse and extra guards," Johnny said.
"We're at the safehouse," Kellie said, "equipped with guards already. I need you guarding my family."
"That won't fly," Johnny said, "This is a security nightmare. An old hotel. How do you know you can trust these people?"
"Because I've met some of these people before," Kellie said, "Back when I was running from Ethan. They got me out of town and as private investigators they got me some pretty good information that led to eventually taking out Ethan's organization."
"How do I know they're equipped to deal with the types of security measures you need?" Johnny asked.
"Faith, want to demonstrate," Kellie said.
"You mean," Faith asked.
"Exactly," Kellie replied.
Faith picked Johnny up by the neck, dangling him in the air, with no effort.
"What kind of Cassadine drugs is this chick on?" Johnny asked when Faith set him down seeing the point was made.
"Bugger," Spike said, "I met a Cassadine once. Crazy she-bat."
"Helena?" Kellie asked.
Spike shuddered, "That is one person who should never figure out….ah nevermind….."
Spike stopped talking as Angel elbowed him.
"It's not drugs," Kellie said, "Spike and Angel here are kind of the same."
"If you're staying, I'm staying," Johnny said, "I will be doing a full security assessment of the building."
"Johnny, don't make me pull rank on you," Kellie said, whipping around to face Johnny.
"Nice, using colored contacts now, kid," Johnny replied.
Kellie opened her mouth to reply and moved in closer to Johnny. Angel edged in between Kellie and Johnny before she could say anything.
"Your guard stays," Angel said, firmly, "If you want to bring rank into this Kellie, here in this situation I outrank you. We both know what happened tonight is outside your area of expertise. Johnny needs to make sure none of you or your or your father's enemies come looking for you here. He's obviously not intimidated by you and will call you out when needed."
Kellie looked at Angel defiantly, but relented, "Fine."
"Let's get inside and we can discuss this further," Angel said, "Spike, Faith, have Fred pick out two rooms, next to each other. Preferably near Spike and I. Kellie's guard and I have a few things to discuss. Have Wesley meet me in his study if you see him."
