Johnny took a deep breathe before calling Lorenzo.
"Where are you and Kellie?" Lorenzo asked.
"It's better that you don't know for now," Johnny said, "The situation is more complicated than we thought."
"Complicated how," Lorenzo asked.
"Kellie is likely a target of the group that tried to sacrifice her and Rachel," Johnny said, "This cult might try to find her being as they deemed her worthy of sacrifice. She's not coming home until she's sure she won't lead them to Tyler and the kids. In fact, she wants Tyler and the kids to go to the island as a precaution."
"Tell me you and Kellie are at least holed up at a safe house," Lorenzo said, "We'll need to send more guards."
"There's no point," Johnny said, "They're not equipped to deal with this situation."
"How badly was Kellie injured?" Lorenzo asked, extremely concerned, "Rachel said Kellie had been stabbed or slit open like she was."
"Yes, but her wounds apparently weren't as exactly as severe as Rachel's," Johnny said.
"Then what exactly aren't our people equipped to deal with here, O' Brien," Lorenzo asked.
Johnny tried to figure out a response.
"The cult worships vampires," Johnny said, "And they are unlike anything any of us have ever seen before. The only saving grace is the people who brought Rachel to the hospital and their colleagues apparently have experience with these kinds of groups. As much I don't like this situation, they're our best shot at fixing this."
"I don't like any of this at all," Lorenzo said.
"Did Kellie ever mention how she got information on Ethan's business years ago to be able to take down his organization?" Johnny asked.
"It's never really come up," Lorenzo said, "I didn't know she was my niece until after Ethan died. I always assumed the PI that double crossed her might have still helped her or she got it on her own."
"Kellie met this group, Angel Investigations, while running from Ethan," Johnny said, "They managed to get their hands on intel for Kellie that she used to find the evidence for law enforcement to shut down his operations."
"Do any of these people have a name or a leader?" Lorenzo asked.
"Angel, no last name," Johnny said, "He came across Ethan's men chasing her years ago. He stepped into help when Kellie took care of them herself. But I guess another unrelated group was going after Ethan's men. He got her out of that and some medical attention."
"How did this Angel and his team end up involved in Rachel's rescue?" Lorenzo asked.
"Rachel isn't the only foster kid this group has taken," Johnny said, "This group was looking into the disappearance of other foster kids."
"I don't like this. Get me an address and I'll come by in the morning," Lorenzo said, "We can put our heads together."
"I'll see what I can find," Johnny said, "And come to the house to get a few things for Kellie. We can touch base then."
"I'd like to check out this safehouse and the situation for myself," Lorenzo said.
"Let me get a better feel for the situation," Johnny said, "Oddly enough, I have a cousin that might have some insight into this cult maybe"
"What aren't you telling me?" Lorenzo said.
"The whole situation is just weird," Johnny replied, "I'll let you know something when I can. In the meantime, get Tyler and the kids to the island. Kellie will be in touch tomorrow."
Johnny hung up before Lorenzo could respond or ask more questions.
Then Johnny sat and contemplated his next call before dialing the number.
"You're reached Teagan's phone, but she's not here right now. So leave a message and I'll get back to you when I can." The voicemail answered.
"Teagan, it's your cousin, Johnny," Johnny started to leave a message, "I've come across a situation and I'm wondering what you might know about a cult that worships vampires."
"Worships vampires or are vampires?" Teagan replied, excitedly.
"Are you seriously still doing that thing where you pretend to be voicemail?" Johnny asked, irritated.
"Serves you right for hardly keeping in touch," Teagan said, "After years of you pretending to be dead."
"I will try to do better," Johnny said, "But I've got a situation here. I need to know everything you know about vampires."
"Why do you want to know about vampires?" Teagan said, "Last I checked you and most of our family believe the family stories about them are just myths."
"My boss might have made herself a target of some cult that worships vampires and they tried to offer her up as a sacrifice," Johnny said.
"Did they have fangs and suck her blood?" Teagan asked.
"I don't know I wasn't there," Johnny said, "I had to track Kellie down when she ditched her guard to look for a foster kid that had gone missing."
"So you admit they were vampires?" Teagan said, "Well that narrows things down."
"I didn't say that," Johnny said.
"Any specific vampire they were worshiping?" Teagan asked.
"Lilith," Johnny answered, grudgingly.
Teagan was finally speechless for a moment.
"Did you say Lilith?" Teagan asked.
"Yes," Johnny said, "What did you know about her?"
"Stay where you are," Teagan said, "I'll find you."
"What are you talking about?' Johnny protested, "Don't you dare hang up the phone."
Teagan ignored Johnny and ended the call.
Johnny threw his phone at the wall near the door cursing Teagan as Gunn entered the room.
"Everything okay in here," Gunn asked.
"I'm sorry," Johnny said, "Too many infuriating phone conversations, ending with my cousin who I thought might know something about the situation or could help me understand. But she…."
"Not as helpful as you hoped," Gunn said.
"Apparently not," Johnny said.
"Well, Spike took Kellie to burn off energy in the training room," Gunn said, "I thought you might want to do your own security assessment of the building."
"At least I could do something," Johnny said, "And you are?"
"Charles Gunn," Gunn answered, "You can call me, Gunn. And you are Johnny O' Brien, I hear."
"Or BryBry," Teagan's voice said as she appeared out of a door that appeared out of nowhere.
